<keyword id="195740" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hero-electric" source="Orion">Hero Electric</keyword> on Tuesday announced a partnership with Bengaluru-based battery technology startup Log 9 Materials, to offer its battery packs for the entire range of EVs. The integration of Log 9's 'RapidX' batteries can fully charge Hero Electric 2W within 15 minutes. Log 9 has tested its RapidX batteries through a series of pilots across multiple B2B fleet operators such as Amazon, Shadowfax, Delhivery, Flipkart and BykeMania, etc. "Our InstaCharge batteries on Hero vehicle platform will provide the 'power, performance and peace of mind' for the B2B last-mile delivery sector and will benefit the cause of reducing operational costs as well as lowering emissions," said Dr Akshay Singhal, Founder and CEO, Log 9 Materials. Log9 has leveraged its cell-to-pack competency to develop batteries that provide 9x faster charging, 9x better performance, 9x lower battery degradation, and 9x battery life. Hero Electric and Log 9 will deploy these batteries in the market via outright sales and Battery-as-a-Service (BASS) business models. "Some of the B2B businesses wanted to run the bikes continuously for long hours with a minimal interruption in their delivery operations. It is for such customers that we now offer bikes with the Log9 batteries that can be fast charged while the driver is having his cup of tea," said Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric. Log9's 'RapidX' batteries are built to operate across -30 to 60 degree celsius and comes with an operational life of more than 10 years. Hero Electric joins Log 9 Materials for 15-minute EV charging infrastructure

<keyword id="195740" type="General" weightage="90" keywordseo="hero-electric" source="Orion">Hero Electric</keyword> on Wednesday said it has partnered with <keyword id="46905" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="bolt" source="Orion">BOLT</keyword>, a leading electric vehicle charging network, to set up 50,000 <keyword id="6379896" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="charging-stations" source="Orion">charging stations</keyword> in the country in the next one year. As part of the collaboration, BOLT chargers will be installed in more than 750 Hero Electric's touch points across <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> benefitting over 4.5 lakh customers. Furthermore, around 2,000 Hero Electric riders will avail free of cost BOLT charging units set up at their homes. "Our mission is to enable carbon-free mobility and fasten <keyword id="4826027" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="EV-adoption" source="Orion">EV adoption</keyword> in the country by building a strong charging ecosystem and reskilling mechanics to offer an enhanced EV riding experience. The partnership will benefit the industry overall and allow electric two-wheeler riders easy access to charging stations pan India, he added. "This collaboration will help to create a seamless charging experience for lakhs of Hero Electric customers as they can use the existing Hero Electric app and website for discovery, booking and payment. As part of the tie-up, BOLT charging network will be leveraged both by Hero Electric's enterprise partners and EV customers, significantly curbing range anxiety. Additionally, BOLT will be integrated within the Hero Electric App and website, offering a one-stop solution for locating a charging station, booking a slot, and payment. Post-installation of BOLT charging stations, individuals can choose between private/public mode of operation for their charging stations and decide the price depending on existing commercial/EV tariffs. Moreover, subscription-based plans will be announced for Hero Electric riders to ease their usage. Hero Electric had sold 8,954 EV two-wheelers in July while Okinawa Autotech had sold 8,096 two-wheelers. Bhavish Aggarwal-run Ola Electric sold 3,421 EV two-wheelers in August, a drop from 3,862 units the company sold in July, indicating that it still needs to bring its strategy back on track. Ather Energy saw a massive jump at selling 5,239 vehicles, from a mere 1,289 in July. <keyword id="5929543" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="ampere-vehicles-pvt-ltd" source="Orion">Ampere Vehicles Pvt Ltd</keyword>, which sold 6,319 vehicles last month, saw a marginal hike at 6,396 sold units. In a bid to boost two-wheeler EV adoption and battery swapping infrastructure, Hero Electric is set to partner with Jio-bp to strengthen mobility solutions for electric two-wheelers. The customers of Hero Electric are expected to get access to the widespread charging and swapping network of Jio-bp, which is also open to other vehicles. A recent report revealed that only 1 per cent household consumers plan to buy an e-scooter in the next six months amid safety and performance concerns, as the government probes multiple fires in electric two-wheelers. Around 32 percent of respondents are not convinced about the safety and performance of electric scooters in August while in March this year, the number stood at 17 per cent - as more than two dozen electric two-wheelers caught fire in March and April, according to community social media platform LocalCircles. Nearly 5 per cent said they are keen to buy but "were not convinced about the infrastructure available for e-scooters where I live/work" and 7 percent said they do not have funds for buying e-scooters. While there are people keen to buy e-scooters, concern over safety and performance are rising. "It is critical for the government and industry to win consumer confidence," the report mentioned. Hero Electric tops two-wheeler EV sales charts in August, Ola Electric saw declined

With this partnership, Ola Electric will work with utility companies and set up charging and battery swapping stations. “Ola Electric has been working closely with ecosystem partners across the country to facilitate mass adoption of EVs and create solutions to operate with minimal restrictions. This programme further augments our efforts to lay a strong foundation to enable the smooth functioning of EVs across the country by creating a widespread network of charging solutions that vehicle owners and operators can rely on,” said Ankit Jain, co-founder of Ola Electric. In July, Ola Electric became a unicorn after it raised $250 million from Softbank. In May, Ola Electric also raised funds from Arun Sarin, former Vodafone Group CEO and also from the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Group, Ratan Tata. In March, it raised ₹4 billion from Ola’s existing and early investors – Tiger Global and Matrix India. Through Ola Electric, the company partnered with several equipment manufacturers and battery manufacturers, while looking to work with the automotive industry for solutions for electric vehicles. Delhi government has been trying to create awareness of EVs. In June, the Delhi government had said that it pilot project testing the use of electric vehicles. With the electric vehicle freight project called Deliver Electric Delhi, 1,000 EVs will be used by 30 players for deliveries over the next 12 months. Some of the high profile participants of this project include Flipkart, Amazon, Bigbasket, Grofers, Uber Eats, Zomato to Hero Electric, Mahindra Electric, Tata Motors and even logistics company Blue Dart Express.

Bengaluru-based <keyword id="218039" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="exponent" source="Orion">Exponent</keyword> has developed the epump and epack, its proprietary charger and battery pack, that together unlock a 15-min rapid charge for 0 to 100 per cent battery charge The startup said that the new funds will be utilised to scale up its EV network to 100 location points per city, starting with Bengaluru. All existing institutional investors, YourNest VC, 3one4 Capital and AdvantEdge VC, also participated in the latest funding round. Exponent Energy raises $13 million to scale up its rapid charging points across the country
