HDFC’s stock value jumped by 1.5% in early morning trade after the company announced that it has plans to raise ₹14,000 crore through its new equity fundraising program. Around ₹10,000 crore will come from qualified institutional placement (QIP) and ₹4,000 crore in warrants. <div type="image" title="HDFC BANK stock price (1)" msid="77385963" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;HDFC share price jumps 1.5% as markets open today morning&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The floor price for the equity shares has been set to ₹1,838.94 and the board of directors will meet again on August 10 to determine the issue price. In addition to the ₹14,000 crore, HDFC will also be issuing secured redeemable non-convertible debentures worth ₹9,000 crore. This is the third time in the last 12 years that HDFC is raising capital through such an offering. It did so once in 2009 and then again in 2015. HDFC's first full quarter in the face of the coronavirus pandemic saw a loss of 4.7% at the end of June. Its gross non-performing loans stood at ₹8,631 crore accounting for 1.87% of HDFC’s loan portfolio. The company already has ₹12,285 in the bank as provisions to serve as a cushion once the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) moratorium ends on August 31. It even added another ₹1,199 this quarter specifically for COVID related accounts. Despite having safeguards in place, many companies are going down the QIP route to shore up capital against the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic. It further said the requisite disclosure had already been made on March 27, and since the shares have now been credited to the account of the Corporation, the disclosure was being made once again. HDFC pulls in Reliance Capital's pledges to acquire 6.43% stake in the company

New Delhi, Apr 15 () Telecom operator Bharti Airtel has surpassed HDFC to become the country's fifth most valued firm in terms of market valuation. At close of trade on Wednesday, Bharti Airtel's market capitalisation (m-cap) stood at Rs 2,78,206.15 crore, Rs 1,987.86 crore more than that of HDFC's valuation of Rs 2,76,218.29 crore on the BSE. Shares of Bharti Airtel had gained in the last two trades, but closed on a marginally lower note on Wednesday, down 0.35 per cent at Rs 509.95. Mortgage lender HDFC's shares fell 3.61 per cent to close at Rs 1,594.75. RIL is the country's most valued firm with a valuation of Rs 7,29,050.55 crore, followed by TCS (Rs 6,50,832.37 crore), HUL (Rs 5,38,992.08 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 4,73,454.37 crore) and Bharti Airtel. It is noteworthy that among all the lenders, HDFC is the largest credit card seller in the country. “RBI has issued an order dated December 2, to HDFC Bank Ltd with regard to certain incidents of outages in the internet banking/ mobile banking/ payment utilities of the bank over the past two years, including the recent outages in the bank’s internet banking and payment system on November 21, 2020, due to a power failure in the primary data centre,” the bank said in a regulatory filing. According to the bank the <a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/893abfb4-95cb-4942-a555-312aef465ef4.pdf">RBI order</a> “has advised the bank to temporarily stop all launches of the digital business-generating activities planned under its program Digital 2.0 and other proposed business generating IT applications and sourcing of new credit card customers”. In addition, the order has directed the bank board to examine the lapses and fixes accountability. The lender said the above measures should be considered for lifting upon satisfactory compliance with the major critical observations as identified by the RBI. HDFC Bank said “over the last two years, it has taken several measures to fortify its IT systems and will continue to work swiftly to close out the balance and would continue to engage with the regulator in this regard. “The bank has been taking conscious, concrete steps to remedy the recent outages on its digital banking channels and assures its customers that it expects the current supervisory actions will have no impact on its existing credit cards, digital banking channels and existing operations. The bank believes that these measures will not materially impact its overall business,” it added. HDFC Bank has lost over $2 billion in market value after the RBI crackdown on the lender’s digital business

New Delhi, Nov 20 () The market valuation of Reliance Industries, the country's most valued firm, is fast nearing the Rs 10 lakh crore mark helped by continuous rise in its share price.
The company's stock on Wednesday climbed 4.10 per cent to Rs 1,571.85 -- its record high -- on the BSE.
Billionaire Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio on Tuesday said it will increase mobile phone call and data charges in the next few weeks in compliance with rules, as it followed similar announcements by Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea on tariff hike.
Led by gains in its stock price, the company's market valuation rose to Rs 9,90,366.80 crore during the morning trade.
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) on Tuesday achieved another milestone, becoming the first Indian firm to hit a market valuation of Rs 9.5 lakh crore.
Last month, RIL became the first Indian firm to hit the Rs 9 lakh crore market valuation mark in intra-day trade.
In August 2018, RIL became the first domestic firm to cross the Rs 8 lakh crore mark in terms of market valuation.
TCS is the country's second most valued firm with a market valuation of Rs 7,91,753.17 crore followed by HDFC Bank with a market cap of Rs 6,98,309.14 crore, Hindustan Unilever (Rs 4,41,480.95 crore) and HDFC (Rs 3,82,429.40 crore).

RIL m-cap inches closer to Rs 10 lakh cr mark

In spite of slashing prices and pressure to advertise more, Karvy brokers believes that it has the pricing power due to its premiumization strategy. Going ahead, it can give investors a 16% upside and its performance has been consistent. In the last ten years, the company has been expanding its margins by offering premium products that allow them the power of pricing. In the next one year, the company is expected to expand its margins from the current 23% to a healthy 25% by FY21. Larsen &amp; Toubro As the domestic business landed a slowdown, India’s largest infrastructure player Larsen &amp; Toubro quickly diversified its portfolio. This strategy has worked for it as its order flow at the end of June stood at a robust ₹2,940 billion. The order flow momentum grew by around 11% year on year and the only risks it faces is in its execution. It also has a five year plan Lakshya to double its sales to ₹2 trillion by FY21. “L&amp;T’s diversified exposure to various sectors/ geographies coupled with its excellent execution capabilities and its balance sheet strength has resulted in strong order book build up. The consensus values the company at 22 times for a target price of ₹1,900,” said Karvy. HDFC Bank HDFC Bank is one of the few banks which showed shown resilience as crisis expands in the sector. Its consistent performance makes it a relative outperformer in the sector. Added to that, the stock is currently trading at around 4% of its expected value for the next fiscal. Its spreads or basically margins will see no volatility in the coming months as it holds power to price in the wholesale lending market. “Despite the NBFC industry facing challenges, we expect the relative outperformance of HDFC will help it to sustain premium valuations. We value HDFC at consensus of 4.3 times,” said Karvy. Zee Entertainment Even as the Essel group is facing liquidity crisis, the core TV business of the company is performing well. Added to that, its digital business is also growing fast with a strong use base of 76.4 million. Its subscription revenue also grew by over 5% till last year. It is also launching 72 more original digital shows which will garner more eyeballs, putting the company in the high growth sphere. Karvy is confident that it will maintain 30% profit margin in the next two years.

 Banks in a bind HDFC Bank, the latest among the blue-chips to declare its earnings, lost over 3% in share value on Monday. It was not just because the earnings were poor. Yes, the margin shrank a bit and the amount of bad loans rose but it was the pessimism in the management's commentary that did the stock in. “The tone of management commentary may spook the markets. However, it is still one of the best managed banks out there,” Jefferies said in its report. HDFC Bank has reported a 23% growth in revenue and a 21% rise in net profit compared to a year earlier. The rise in bad loans from farmers was offset by a spike in other income. IndusInd Bank, whose reported profit grew 38%, suffered from the fears of a spike in bad loans because of the company's exposure to the infrastructure lending giant IL&amp;FS that has gone bust.  The slump in demand for cars and two-wheelers, the lack of enthusiasm among home buyers, and spiralling consumer demand overall have dented bank earnings overall.  The elephant in the room The stock of Reliance Industries (RIL), one of India's biggest conglomerates, got a fillip on the first trading day after its earnings. But truly, the investors were just celebrating the fact that <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/mukesh-ambanis-reliance-industries-profit-grows-6-8-even-as-gross-refining-margin-hits-the-lowest-in-18-quarters/articleshow/70294401.cms" data-type="tilCustomLink" target="_blank">the company's mainstay petrochemicals business</a>was not doing as badly as they had feared. That alone was enough to prop up RIL's share price by over 2% on Monday. The Mukesh Ambani-owned company has seen very good traction in its relatively new businesses like Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail but, as many analysts have pointed out, the core businesses petrochemicals and refining -- which make for the lion's share of the company's gross revenue-- are under threat. "Reduction in heavy crude oil supply post US sanctions, global refining capacity addition this year exceeding expected incremental demand, and slowdown in petchem demand as a result of the US-China spat will weigh on RIL’s refining and petchem business," a HDFC Securities report said. Tech: Tightrope walk India's top-tier software and IT service companies, TCS and Infosys, have had a bittersweet response from investors so far. The slowdown in TCS' revenue and profit were on expected lines, according to the broking house Motilal Oswal.
