<ul><li><keyword id="6997863" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="adeco-consultancy">Adeco Consultancy</keyword> conned <keyword id="6357149" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="hdfc-bank">HDFC Bank</keyword> by endorsing 68 unqualified employees, including one at managerial level, over the span of two years.</li><li>51 of those employees were still working in HDFC when the frauds were detected. </li><li>The matter came to light during an internal investigation by the bank when cross-checking an employee reference. </li></ul>Recruiting is never easy, but being duped into hiring unqualified or fraudulent employees is even worse. But, Adeco Consultancy, an Indian consultancy firm was able to <a href="https://www.financialexpress.com/india-news/68-including-branch-manager-used-false-documents-to-get-jobs-hdfc-bank-finds-in-internal-probe/1366466/" data-type="tilCustomLink">pull it off</a> at one of India’s top private banks, HDFC. They were able to place 68 employees in different positions at the bank over a span of two years. The catch was that a lot of these employees had their resumes puffed up by the agency through forged documents. Reports indicate that this includes falsified salary slips, forged certificates and documents, as well as non-existent references. On realisation that the bank had been conned, HDFC filed a case against <a href="https://www.financialexpress.com/india-news/68-including-branch-manager-used-false-documents-to-get-jobs-hdfc-bank-finds-in-internal-probe/1366466/">Adeco Consultancy</a>. Figuring out the rabbit hole The matter came to light in February earlier this year, when the bank was cross-checking the references listed by one of its employees, Geetanjali Bagga. She had only just joined the bank as an assistant manager in November 2017. The modus operandi was further unraveled in an internal investigation when Bagga mentioned the role of Adeco in helping her get fake documents in order to make her profile look more impressive. She admitted having to pay ₹60,000 to Amit Choudhary from the consultancy for helping her clear the exam. The bank immediately went on a checking spree to verify the documents of other employees who had come in through the same consultancy. At the end of the day, the probe unveiled that a total of 68 candidates in the bank had been misrepresented when being hired. 51 of those employees are still working at HDFC. It turns out one of their own employees, <keyword id="287885" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Satyendra">Satyendra</keyword> Pal, was a part of the scam helping new candidates clear HDFC's online exam. It would start as simply as the consultancy wanting to offer training and assistance which would help candidates pass HDFC’s online exam and in return, the candidates were to pay a fee between ₹25,000 to ₹150,000, as reported by <a href="https://www.timesnownews.com/business-economy/companies/article/employment-fraud-gurugram-job-consultancy-firm-tricks-hdfc-bank-using-forged-documents-here-s-how/306668">Times Now,</a> In actuality, the recruitment firm approached potential candidates in a very systematic manner by first identifying them through various job portals and then reeling them in by offering them opportunities as per the current openings of the bank. So, in the middle of ‘training and assisting’ the candidates, they were asked to pay a hefty commission for the forged documents. The FIR filed by HDFC stated that Adeco Consultancy had positioned themselves as partners of the bank to fill in vacant job openings. The firm also had 360 different domain names, similar to those of other financial institutions, which could be provided as contact details for references. The police has <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/gurgaon/hdfc-bank-finds-68-used-fake-papers-for-job-one-a-branch-manager/articleshow/66422294.cms">booked</a> the firm under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using forged document) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the <keyword id="75223" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Penal-Code">Indian Penal Code</keyword> (IPC).

"Even today many panchayats don't have a bank branch. I am not saying that you need to have a physical presence everywhere, digitisation has saved a lot of costs without compromising the service banks provide," she said on Sunday. The move, it said, will help the lender to expand its reach to one-third of rural India, while extending its leadership in lending to micro, small and medium enterprises. The bank’s management, in its July earnings call, had also indicated that the lender is looking at “solid growth” in the ongoing financial year. “If I were to take any insights and share with you for the first 15 days trends for the month of July '21, HDFC Bank is echoing the projection of almost 100% of pre-COVID levels on the disbursement. And that gives me the optimism that in quarter two, which is July, August and September, we should be in a position to scale up rapidly on our growth rates,” said Arvind Kapil, the bank's country head for retail assets at HDFC Bank’s earning call in July. “...our assessment and our belief is that we should be back on course to achieve the original financial year plans and should close the year on a solid growth for the financial year,” he said. Cybercriminals are trying to lure Indian users into revealing important personal information with a new report on Monday warning that suspicious messages asking users to submit an application for the disbursement of income tax refund have been doing the rounds, with a link that directs users to a webpage looking like the income tax e-filing web page. The targeted banks in the campaign include the <keyword id="6354731" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="state-bank-of-india">State Bank of India</keyword>, ICICI, HDFC, <keyword id="6355975" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="axis-bank">Axis Bank</keyword> and <keyword id="62034" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Punjab-National-Bank">Punjab National Bank</keyword>, revealed an investigation by New Delhi-based think tank CyberPeace Foundation along with cybersecurity services firmAutobot Infosec. The suspicious links originate from the US and France, said the report, adding that the campaign is collecting personal as well as banking information from the user and getting into this type of trap could cause a massive financial loss for the users. The shared link with the SMS has no domain name and is not linked with the Indian government. All IP addresses associated with the campaign belong to some third party dedicated cloud hosting providers, said the report. The whole campaign uses plain http protocol instead of the secure https. This means anyone on the network or internet can intercept the traffic and get the confidential information in plain text to misuse against the victim. It asks users to download an application from a third party source instead of Google Playstore. The application asks to provide administrator rights and unnecessary access permissions of the device. On opening the link http://204.44.124[.]160/ITR, users are redirected to a landing page that is mostly similar to the government income tax e-filing website. On clicking the green 'Proceed to the verification steps' button, users are asked to submit personal information such as full name, PAN, Aadhar number, address, pincode, date of birth, mobile number, email address, gender, marital status and banking information like account number, IFSC code, card number, expiry date, CVV/CVC and card PIN. Additionally, the bank name is automatically detected from the IFSC code entered in the form. After submission of data, users are redirected to a page where they are asked to confirm the entered data. Clicking on the green 'confirm' button directs users to a fake banking login page almost similar to the official one. It asks for the username and password for online banking. After these details are entered, for the next step, users are asked to enter a Hint question, Answer, Profile password and CIF number. Once submitted, a mobile verification section with instructions provided to download an android application (.apk file) appears, to complete the ITR verification. Here, users are deliberately instructed to grant all device permissions to the particular application, the investigation revealed. The application, called Certificate.apk, starts downloading upon clicking the green 'Download' link. The overall layout and functionalities of the web page used in the campaign are similar to the official e-filing site to lure laymen, said the report. Apart from this, the rest of the design is mostly minimal. The camera module resembles that of the other S20 phones. It’s noticeably thicker and houses three cameras and an LED flash. Samsung has used a 120Hz refresh rate panel, which is good to see in a phone at this price. This results in an overall smoother user experience, especially in some games which are optimized for it. Overall, the S20 FE’s display gets bright enough in direct sunlight. It’s also sharp, and the colours are punchy and vivid. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE performance and software The S20 FE uses the same chipset that its more expensive S20 siblings use – Exynos 990. This is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage – both adequate in most cases. In terms of real-world usage, the Galaxy S20 FE delivered smooth performance, whether it’s texting, browsing the internet, scrolling across the interface, or playing graphic-intensive games. Samsung’s custom skin, One UI, is also one of the most feature-rich and best-looking interfaces out there. You can customize the S20 FE to your heart’s content without worrying about the phone slowing down. Coming to the battery life, the S20 FE easily lasts a full day of use. In terms of battery life, the Z Flip 3 falls short of competition due to its 3,300mAh battery which is much smaller compared to other flagship devices. The battery lasts for a day with normal usage, but this dips down if you watch too many videos or play games. The device is powered by a 3,300mAh battery and comes with 15W wired charging and 10W Qi wireless charging. The 15W charging support is noticeably slower when compared to the 25W charging offered on other Galaxy flagships, including the Z Fold 3. From nowhere two years ago, foldable smartphones have now become a part of normal discourse thanks to the Korean smartphone maker. After initial hiccups with the original Galaxy Fold in 2019 to the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/mobile/news/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-3-first-impressions/slidelist/85624194.cms">Galaxy Z Fold 3</a> in 2021, Samsung and foldable smartphones have come a long way. From being gimmicky and highly delicate to robust, sturdy and water resistant, Samsung has made some major leaps in bringing its foldable smartphones to the mainstream. For old followers of the smartphone industry, this might seem like déjà vu. Samsung created the phablet form factor – a mish-mash of tablets and phones, basically, phones with giant displays – out of nowhere with the original Galaxy Note in 2011. That was a time when phones with sub-5-inch displays were the norm, and anything bigger than that was basically an outlier. Samsung brought big display smartphones into the mainstream and the Galaxy Note series proved to be a major success for the company. Now, with foldable smartphones, Samsung is trying to recreate the same magic yet again. We have been testing Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone for a few weeks now, and here’s our detailed review. Dig in. <keyword id="699914" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="samsung-galaxy-z" source="Orion">Samsung Galaxy Z</keyword> Fold 3 price in India The Galaxy Z Fold 3 price in India starts at ₹1,49,999. It comes in Phantom Black and Phantom Green colour options. HDFC Bank debit and credit card users can avail of a cashback of ₹7,000. Additionally, there are other offers that you can check out on Samsung India’s <a href="https://www.samsung.com/in/smartphones/galaxy-z-fold3-5g/buy/'">official website</a>. The box includes the phone, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable for charging, a SIM ejector tool and the quick start guide. Alternatively, if you want a slightly more affordable foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is another option worth considering at a starting price of ₹84,999. Design The Galaxy Z Fold 3 sports a familiar design – it has a book-like form factor that Samsung has retained since the original Fold. It has a secondary display on the top and a foldable large display on the inside. This design approach helps protect the relatively delicate foldable display, while the external display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. <div type="image" title="Hinge 1" msid="86366499" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The hinge on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The foldable magic is possible thanks to the hinge and the ultra-thin glass on the inside. However, one side-effect of a foldable phone is that it is going to be bulky – in part due to the phone folding in half, and in part due to the gap between the folded parts of the inner display. <div type="image" title="Fold" msid="86366381" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 partially open.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> This is immediately visible when the phone is folded and you either hold it or put it in your pocket. There’s no escaping the fact that it is chunky and bulky – at 271 grams, it is one of the heaviest smartphones out there. The phone can be a little slipper at times, especially when you hold the phone vertically. However, the narrow aspect ratio is useful in this instance, as it gives you a better grip. Samsung says it has used a stronger aluminum material, and combined with the Gorilla Glass protection, it looks and feels premium. The narrow aspect ratio makes the phone comfortable enough to hold, allowing you to use it like a normal smartphone. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the right side, integrated with the power button. The back of the phone is bare, except for the camera module. Display The display is the primary attraction of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 for obvious reasons. Both the displays are AMOLED and offer 120Hz refresh rate. The external display is 6.2-inches and appears taller than smartphones with comparable displays – this is due to the 25:9 aspect ratio at a time when most smartphones offer around 19:9 aspect ratio displays. <div type="image" title="20210825_144919" msid="86366418" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 display.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> In simpler terms, the external display is not as wide as you would see in normal smartphones. This does not have a major impact on regular usage, but it is noticeable while watching videos, for which you’ll most probably use the main display. Beyond the size and form factor, the external display is responsive, bright and since it is an AMOLED panel, the blacks are true and the contrast is excellent. The primary display – the foldable 7.6-inch canvas on the inside – is the key selling point of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It has a much wider 5:4 aspect ratio, which makes it an excellent option for things like reading ebooks, or multitasking. The addition of S Pen support is another clear indicator that Samsung is focusing on making it easier to run multiple apps at the same time. Tasks like opening spreadsheets, taking notes or just creating art – it’s easier to get things done thanks to Samsung’s excellent implementation of multi-window and the large canvas at your disposal. <div type="image" title="20210825_144157" msid="86366455" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 partially folded.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> This brings us to the crease – there’s no denying that it is present and noticeable, but it can be ignored while viewing content. Again, this depends on the kind of content being viewed – the crease becomes more noticeable while viewing content with light background. It’s not a big deal but it cannot be wished away. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is also one of the first few mainstream smartphones with an under-display camera – it has a 4MP camera that is mostly invisible when you are using the phone, and appears as soon as you open the camera app to click selfies. The area that houses the camera is less pixel-dense than the rest of the display to allow the sensor to capture adequate light. It can be ignored for the most part but is slightly noticeable while viewing content. Overall, though, Samsung has done a great job to make a highly usable foldable smartphone that is true to its roots while still making a lot of sense for day-to-day usage. Performance The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset – the top-of-the-line chipset that is currently available from Qualcomm. It is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. This is as fast as a modern Android smartphone can get, right now. In regular usage, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 was a breeze to use. Samsung has done very well to balance performance and efficiency, with a seamless transition from the exterior display to the internal one. For instance, if you have an app open with the phone folded, it opens up in the same state when the phone is unfolded. The phone also comes out with flying colours while playing games – the massive screen real estate is a treat to use and gives you more room to use and viewing area when compared to normal smartphones. We tried several titles like Battlegrounds Mobile India, Call of Duty: Mobile, Pokemon Go, or simpler titles like Subway Surf, and they worked well. In terms of the battery life, we did not expect the phone to last long enough considering the fact that it powers two high refresh rate screens. The phone did struggle to last an entire day’s worth of usage, but this involved gaming for two hours, streaming videos for one hour, with voice calling and texting throughout the day. The phone is backed by a 4,400mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging and 10W wireless charging, which is on the slower side when compared to the competition. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 could have benefited from faster charging speeds, given that it has to power two high refresh rate displays. Camera The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has five cameras in total – three on the back, one above the external display and one under-display camera inside. <div type="image" title="Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 camera" msid="86366482" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 rear camera.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The rear camera setup consists of a 12MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide angle snapper and a 12MP telephoto shooter. There is a 10MP camera above the external display and a 4MP under-display camera. <div type="image" title="FotoJet (1)" msid="86367812" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured in daylight condition in 0.5X, 1X and 2X.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Coming to the camera quality, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 manages to click detailed clear photos in daylight conditions. The images tend to be slightly oversaturated, but they look great on the phone and social media. However, if you prefer neutral tones, you might want to use the manual mode. Selfies are mostly good, especially those captured with the 10MP camera. It misses out on autofocus, but that is not a dealbreaker considering you can use the 12MP primary cameras as well. <div type="image" title="Selfie" msid="86367829" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Selfie captured using the 4MP camera, 10MP camera and 12MP camera.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Coming to the 4MP under-display camera, the results are just acceptable. This is Samsung’s first attempt at under-display camera technology, so you can expect improvements going forward. At this point, though, you are likely better off using the other four cameras at your disposal. Lastly, you can use the 12MP primary cameras for selfies as well by unfolding the phone and using the external display as the viewfinder. You get the full power of the 12MP camera trio, complete with optical image stabilisation and much better lenses. Should you buy the Galaxy Z Fold 3? The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is a fancy smartphone that offers the best foldable phone experience to date. Period. From sturdiness to multitasking and performance, Samsung has nailed almost everything that needs to be. The cameras are not the best from Samsung’s stable, the charging speeds aren’t the best by today’s flagship standard especially for the price it comes for, but as far as foldable smartphones are concerned, it doesn’t get better than this.
