New Delhi, Foreign direct investment (<keyword id="19946824" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fdi" source="keywords">FDI</keyword>) inflows in India declined 13 per cent to USD 32.03 billion in April-December 2023, dragged down by lower infusion in computer hardware and software, telecom, auto, and pharma sectors, according to the latest government data. FDI inflows stood at USD 36.74 billion during the corresponding nine months of the preceding fiscal. Inflows during the October-December quarter of the current fiscal, however, rose by 18 per cent to USD 11.6 billion as against USD 9.83 billion during the same quarter of 2022-23. The total FDI -- which includes equity inflows, reinvested earnings and other capital -- declined by about 7 per cent to USD 51.5 billion during the period under review against USD 55.27 billion in April-December 2022, the data from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) showed. During the nine-month period of this fiscal, FDI equity inflows decreased from major countries, including Singapore, the US, the UK, Cyprus and the UAE. Investments fell significantly from the Cayman Islands and Cyprus to USD 215 million and USD 796 million, respectively, during April-December 2023 as against the two comparative figures of USD 624 million and USD 1.15 billion recorded in the year-ago period. However, inflows increased from <keyword id="19956313" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mauritius" source="keywords">Mauritius</keyword>, the Netherlands, Japan and Germany. Sectorally, inflows contracted in computer software and hardware, trading, services, telecommunication, automobile, pharma and chemicals. In contrast, construction (infrastructure) activities, development and power sectors registered growth in inflows. State-wise, Maharashtra received the highest inflow of USD 12.1 billion during the period. It was USD 10.76 billion in the same period a year ago. Overseas capital inflows in Karnataka plunged to USD 3.6 billion in April-December 2023 from USD 8.77 billion in the same period of previous fiscal year. Other states/Union Territories where FDI dipped during the period under review included Delhi, <keyword id="19896558" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tamil-nadu" source="keywords">Tamil Nadu</keyword>, West Bengal, <keyword id="19898913" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rajasthan" source="keywords">Rajasthan</keyword> and <keyword id="19904807" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="haryana" source="keywords">Haryana</keyword>. The inflow, however, recorded a positive growth in Gujarat, Telangana, and Jharkhand. An official has earlier stated that hardening interest rates globally and worsening geopolitical situation impacted FDI inflows. FDI equity inflows into India declined 22 per cent to USD 46 billion in 2022-23.

As the <keyword id="19895371" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Congress" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Congress" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Congress">Congress</keyword> appeared set to wrest five Lok Sabha seats from the ruling BJP in Haryana, Hooda said that he had been saying "there is a wave blowing in favour of the Congress". "You asked me about exit polls predicting most seats to the BJP, to which I said wait for the actual poll results on June 4," the Congress veteran said. Haryana is known for "jai jawan, jai kisan, jai pehalwan". "But what did they (BJP) do. They brought Agniveer (Agnipath scheme), which faced opposition from the youth. They did not redress farmers' issues. And everyone knows the treatment that was meted to our wrestler daughters, who had to protest (at Delhi's Jantar Mantar)," he said. Hooda said that unemployment increased in the state during the BJP rule while the law and order situation also deteriorated. He claimed that the Congress' performance in the <keyword id="19912155" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha-polls" source="keywords">Lok Sabha polls</keyword> in the state will have an impact on the Vidhan Sabha elections, which are due in October. "This is clear indication that people of Haryana have made up their mind to bring the Congress to power in the Assembly polls," Hooda claimed. Referring to the Lok Sabha polls, Hooda said people have supported the Congress. The Congress leader said that he had been maintaining that BJP will be "wiped out in south, halved in north" "Look at Haryana and Rajasthan...People have given us good support," he added. On the BJP's claims that NDA will win 400 seats this time, Hooda said, "I had been saying that it was a mere slogan. In Haryana too, in the 2019 Assembly polls, the BJP had given slogan of 'Abki baar 75 paar' (claiming to win 75 of the 90 seats). Everyone knows how many seats they later won. (BJP had won 40 seats)." Hooda said that he had maintained that it will be a direct fight between the Congress and BJP in Haryana in the Lok Sabha polls. "I had been repeatedly saying that it is going to be a direct fight between the Congress and BJP. And that has been proved," said Hooda. "The people have rejected the 'vote katu' (vote cutters) outfits," he added referring to the JJP and INLD. Going by the trends available late afternoon, the Congress appeared on course to win Ambala, Hisar, Rohtak, Sirsa and Sonipat seats. The grand old party had contested nine of the ten Lok Sabha seats leaving the Kurukshetra seat to its INDIA bloc ally AAP. AAP's Sushil Gupta, was, however, behind BJP's Naveen Jindal from the seat.

The bank proposes to utilize the fresh issue proceeds to augment its Tier-I capital base, to meet its future capital requirements. “As the bank continues to grow its loan portfolio and asset base, the bank expects to require additional capital in order to continue to meet applicable capital adequacy ratios with respect to its business,” it said in a press release. Two decades of banking experience The Jalandhar based small finance bank was incorporated in 1999. With a range of banking products on the asset and liability side, it operates Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Union Territory of Chandigarh. “Our asset products primarily include agriculture loans, MSME and trading loans and mortgages. We focus primarily on the middle-income customer segments,” it said in its DRHP. As of September 30, 2023, its gross advances stood at ₹5,865 crore, while total deposits were at ₹7,000 crore. It also lists intensive competition in the sector as a risk factor. Some of its competitors may have better brand recognition, business experience, diversified operations, and access to lower costs of funding. “We face our most significant organized competition from other SFBs, NBFCs and cooperative banks which have significant presence in rural and semi-urban areas, public sector banks, private sector banks, housing finance companies and other financial services companies in India,” it said. It has also settled a matter with markets regulator SEBI in the past, in connection with allotment of equity shares. During FY05, it had made a total of 14 allotments in multiple tranches with each tranche of not more than 49 allottees to an aggregate of 402 allottees. “These allotments, on a consolidated basis, were considered not in compliance with the then applicable laws relating to issuance and allotment of securities,” the bank said. Its current statutory auditors, M/s T R Chadha &amp; Co., LLP, Chartered Accountants, have been found ineligible by RBI for undertaking the audit activities for FY24 of the bank. The bank has taken up 207 criminal proceedings along with six material civil litigations, and the aggregate amount involved is ₹63.3 crore. The bank also has one tax proceeding and a material civil litigation against it.

Capital Small Finance Bank IPO to open on Feb 7, sets price band at ₹445-468/sh

Polling in all 200 assembly constituencies in the state will be held on November 25 and counting of votes will take place on December 3. "I am more focused on issues such as women empowerment and drinking water in my campaign," Rita Chaudhary, who is contesting from Sikar's <keyword id="17028790" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="danta-ramgarh" source="Orion">Danta Ramgarh</keyword> seat, told PTI on Monday. She has been fielded by Haryana-based Jannayak Janta Party. Her husband Virendra Chaudhary is the sitting Congress MLA, which has renominated him. Chaudhary is the son of former Congress state chief and seven-time MLA Narayan Singh. The family has traditionally been with the Congress but it witnessed a political split when Rita Chaudhary joined JJP in August this year, and was made the state president of JJP's women wing. Her expectations to get a ticket from the Congress party in the 2018 assembly elections were dashed as the party chose her husband Virendra. After that, Rita started strengthening her own political base. Rita said people in Danta Ramgarh want change. "Since I have been active among the people, I am confident that I will win this seat in the elections," she said. In the Dholpur assembly seat, interest in the contest between two members of the same family has been compounded by the fact that both the leaders have switched parties. <keyword id="4291541" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="shobharani-kushwah" source="Orion">Shobharani Kushwah</keyword> had won the seat in 2018 as a BJP candidate by defeating Congress's Dr Shivcharan Kushwah. Shobharani, the sister-in-law of Shivcharan, was expelled in June last year by the BJP over cross-voting in Rajya Sabha elections. This time, Congress has offered its ticket to Shobharani while the BJP has fielded Shivcharan. "Relationships and political contests are altogether different aspects and they have their own place. Therefore, during an election battle, we are candidates of our political parties and not 'saali' and 'jija'," she said. Shobharani had won the assembly bypoll in 2017 on a BJP ticket after her husband B L Kushwah, who had won the 2013 assembly election as a BSP candidate, was convicted in a murder case in December 2016. In <keyword id="103147" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="nagaur" source="Orion">Nagaur</keyword> and Khetri seats, uncles are in the election fray against their nieces. At least five Australian universities have placed bans or restrictions on students from some Indian states, amidst a surge in fraudulent applications from South Asia seeking to work - not study - in this country, according to a media report. Australia is on track for its biggest-ever annual intake of Indian students, topping 2019's high watermark of 75,000. But the current surge has prompted concerns from lawmakers and the education sector about the integrity of Australia's immigration system and the long-term impact on the nation's lucrative international education market, The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper reported on Tuesday. "The volume of students arriving has come back a lot stronger than anyone was expecting," said <keyword id="17179005" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="jon-chew" source="Orion">Jon Chew</keyword> from global education firm Navitas. "We knew there would be a lot of pent-up demand, but there has also been a surge in non-genuine students," Chew was quoted as saying. With many applications deemed by universities not to meet Australian visa requirements that they are a "genuine temporary entrant" coming solely for education, universities are putting restrictions in place to pre-empt their "risk rating" being downgraded, the report said. An investigation by The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald newspapers has obtained emails from within <keyword id="212104" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="victoria-university" source="Orion">Victoria University</keyword>, Edith Cowan University, the University of Wollongong, Torrens University, and agents working for Southern Cross University that show the crackdown on applications from Indian students. Those universities that have restricted access to some Indian states are concerned Home Affairs will reduce their ability to fast-track student visas because of the number of applicants who are actually seeking to work - not study - in Australia. Perth's Edith Cowan University in February placed an outright ban on applicants from the Indian states of Punjab and <keyword id="41646" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="haryana" source="Orion">Haryana</keyword>, then in March, Victoria University increased restrictions on student applications from eight Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. These restrictions came just days after Prime Minister <keyword id="178055" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="anthony-albanese" source="Orion">Anthony Albanese</keyword> visited <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>, in part to celebrate Australia's education links and announce a new agreement with Australia's universities and colleges that would, he said, herald "the most comprehensive and ambitious arrangement agreed to by India with any country". Crucially, the agreement included a "mutual recognition of qualifications between Australia and India", which will make travelling to either country for university study easier. The University of Wollongong in March also ratcheted up conditions on its "genuine temporary entrant" test on students from India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Lebanon, Mongolia, Nigeria and "other countries deemed a risk (of students not being a genuine temporary entrant) by the Department of Home Affairs". A spokeswoman for Adelaide's Torrens University said it too was "now looking carefully at each area where our applications come from" after the university told The Times Higher Education in March that it was considering only "very strong" applications from Gujarat, Haryana and Punjab, the report added. Five Australian universities restrict Indian students as fraud applications surge

Eight states including <keyword id="13126" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maharashtra">Maharashtra</keyword>, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, <keyword id="6357713" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Uttar-Pradesh">Uttar Pradesh</keyword>, Delhi, <keyword id="20154" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="tamil-nadu">Tamil Nadu</keyword>, Madhya Pradesh and <keyword id="6354953" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="punjab">Punjab</keyword> have shown a steep rise in daily COVID-19 cases, accounting for 81.90 per cent of the 1,03,558 new cases reported in a span of 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday. Maharashtra has reported the highest daily new cases at 57,074 (55.11 per cent). It is followed by Chhattisgarh with 5,250 while Karnataka reported 4,553 new cases, it said. India's total active caseload has reached 7,41,830 and now comprises 5.89 per cent of the country's total infections, the data stated. A net increase of 50,233 cases has been recorded in the total active caseload in a span of 24 hours. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, <keyword id="28504" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kerala">Kerala</keyword> and Punjab cumulatively account for 75.88 per cent of the total active cases in the country. Maharashtra alone accounts for nearly 58.23 per cent of the total active caseload of the country, the ministry said. Twelve states -- Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Karnataka, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, <keyword id="41646" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Haryana">Haryana</keyword>, <keyword id="6355588" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="rajasthan">Rajasthan</keyword>, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala are displaying an upward trajectory in daily new cases, the ministry said. Fifteen states and UTs have lower tests per million population than the national average of 1,80,449, the ministry stated. India's cumulative recoveries stand at 1,16,82,136 with 52,847 recoveries being registered in a span of 24 hours. Besides, 478 deaths were reported in a day. Eight states account for 84.52 per cent of the new deaths. Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties (222). Punjab follows with 51 daily deaths. Twelve states and UTs have not reported any COVID-19 deaths in a span of 24 hours. These are Puducherry, Ladakh, D&amp;D &amp; D&amp;N, Nagaland, Meghalaya, <keyword id="6359754" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="manipur">Manipur</keyword>, Tripura, Sikkim, Lakshadweep, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Arunachal Pradesh. The ministry also said the cumulative number of COVID-19 <keyword id="24209" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="vaccine">vaccine</keyword> doses administered in the country has crossed 7.9- crore mark, the ministry said. Cumulatively, 7,91,05,163 vaccine doses have been administered through 12,31,148 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am. These include 90,09,353 healthcare workers (HCWs) who have taken the 1st dose, 53,43,493 HCWs who have taken the 2nd dose, 97,37,850 frontline workers (FLWs) who have received the 1st dose and 41,33,961 FLWs who have taken the 2nd dose. Besides, 4,99,31,635 and 9,48,871 beneficiaries aged more than 45 years have been administered the 1st and 2nd dose respectively. As on day-79 of the vaccination drive (4th April), 16,38,464 vaccine doses were given. Out of which, 15,40,676 beneficiaries were vaccinated across 21,508 sessions for 1st dose and 97,788 beneficiaries received 2nd dose of vaccine. Eight states account for 60 per cent of the cumulative vaccine doses given so far, the ministry said. New Delhi, Bird flu has been confirmed in seven states of the country so far, namely Kerala, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh, while test reports of unsual death of birds received from Chhattisgarh, <keyword id="13126" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maharashtra">Maharashtra</keyword> and Delhi are awaited, the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and <keyword id="4161976" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="dairying">Dairying</keyword> said on Saturday. As per a statement issued by the ministry, after confirmation of avian influenza (AI) positive samples by the ICAR-NIHSAD from two poultry farms in Panchkula district in Haryana, positive cases of bird flu in migratory birds were reported in Shivpuri, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Agar and Vidisha district in Madhya Pradesh, the zoological park in Kanpur, and Pratapgarh and Dausa districts of Rajasthan. The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAH&amp;D) has issued an advisory to the affected states so as to avoid further spread of the disease. Reports of unusual mortality of birds in the past two days have also been received from Balod district in Chhattisgarh. The state has constituted RRT teams for emergency situation and has also sent the samples for testing to the designated laboratory. Further, reports of unusual mortality in ducks have been received from Sanjay Lake in Delhi. The samples have been sent to the designated laboratory for testing. Samples of dead crows have also been sent to <keyword id="2734927" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="NIHSAD">NIHSAD</keyword> from Mumbai, Thane, Dapoli, Parbhani, and <keyword id="101668" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Beed">Beed</keyword> districts of Maharashtra for confirmation of AI. Meanwhile, culling operations have been completed in both the affected districts of Kerala and post-operational surveillance program guidelines have been issued to the state. Central teams deployed to visit the affected states in Kerala, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh for monitoring and for epidemiological investigation have reached their destinations, the DAH&amp;D said.

Jaipur, Jun 10 () The <keyword id="6355588" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="rajasthan">Rajasthan</keyword> government on Wednesday imposed restrictions on the movement of people at its state borders because of a surge in COVID-19 cases in the state. No person will be allowed to enter Rajasthan without a 'No Objection Certificate' (NOC) from the state government or leave without a pass, Director General of Police (DGP), Law and Order, M L Lather said in an order. In its initial order, the Rajasthan government had said borders were being "sealed". In a subsequent order, it revised the term to say the movement of people at the inter-state borders would be "regulated". However, the orders, both in Hindi, carried the same provisions. Directions have been issued to all range IGs, SPs, commissioners and deputy commissioners in this regard and the arrangements would be in place for the next seven days, Lather said. The DGP said passes would be issued only in cases of emergencies like hospitalisation or death of a family member or a relative. Rajasthan shares borders with Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat. In his order, Lather directed the officials to put up check posts along the state borders with immediate effect. Apart from inter-state routes, check posts will also be put up at railway stations and airports to check movement of people who do not have passes, the order said. The number of COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 11,368, with 123 fresh infections reported on Wednesday morning. The state reported 369 cases on Tuesday, its highest single-day spike so far. Till date, Rajasthan has reported 256 COVID-19 fatalities.

The protesting farmers staged a dharna at the interstate border point on the service lane of the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway after police stopped them from proceeding further on Saturday night. They are now awaiting more farmers to join in. Sources said that more police personnel than farmers were seen deployed at the Rajasthan-Haryana border falling in Gurugram district on Sunday. "Thousands of police personnel along with water cannons, cranes/JCBs and anti-riot equipment have been stationed across the National Highway to stop farmers from entering Gurugram area," said Nikita Gahlaut, DCP (Manesar). As of Saturday evening, two groups of farmers from Rajasthan, with more expected to join them on Sunday, turned up to participate in the call for "blocking" the NH-48. As the protestors sat on a dharna on the NH's service lane, they shouted slogans to demand the repeal of the three new central farm laws. Earlier, Swaraj India national President Yogendra Yadav had tweeted that the farmers from Rajasthan and Haryana would gather at Kotputli and Behror before their proposed march to Delhi on December 13. According to a senior police officer who did not wish to be named, the Haryana Police had changed its strategy to stop farmers from proceeding further, putting up barricades on the Haryana-Rajasthan border in the district till <keyword id="3912043" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-gurugram">Delhi-Gurugram</keyword> border and digging up trenches on roads. We are expecting thousands of farmers to participate." He said that they all plan to join the farmers already protesting on Delhi borders at Tikri and Singhu. "We have made preparation to stay put for months at the protest spot, bringing along food items, clothes, water and other essentials," he added. "We know that we will be stopped by the police and we are prepared for that. This is our protest against the three black farms law and we will win, sooner or later," Jat asserted. Farmers' Protest: Security beefed up in Gurugram as farmers stopped on Haryana-Rajasthan border

Shimla, With the toll of migratory waterbirds rising to over 1,800, and almost half of them being endangered bar-headed goose visiting the Pong wetlands, the Himachal Pradesh wildlife authorities on Monday suspected avian influenza as the cause. Chief Conservator Wildlife of Pong wetlands -- one of the largest in northern India, Upasna Patyal, told the reason for the deaths is still a mystery. Their carcasses have been sent to different laboratories to determine the cause of death. "The death of birds could be attributed to bird flu. We are expecting to get results by Tuesday evening. As a protocol, we have imposed prohibitory orders," she said. The local administration has already sounded an alert by banning all the human activities within 10-km radius of the Pong wetlands in Kangra district. The bird flu can spread to human beings and turn fatal. Besides the bar-headed goose, the other species were the shoveler, the river tern, the black-headed gull and the common teal. Some birds -- including the bar-headed goose -- were seen acting strangely before their deaths, she said. "When you're seeing that birds are not able to take the flight despite healthy wings, it's really disturbing. At some distance, you find their carcasses," she said. The mass mortality of poultry birds was reported at one of the largest poultry belt at Barwala near Panchkula in <keyword id="41646" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Haryana">Haryana</keyword>. According to the Bird Count India, a partnership comprising organizations and groups, over the past seven-10 days there have been reports of wild birds dying in separate incidents at different locations in the country. That wild birds die is not necessarily worrying. But it is possible that some of these recent deaths are out of the ordinary, with large numbers dying or reports of diagnoses of H5N1 (avian influenza). At the moment, no-one knows whether these are causes of larger concern, but it is worth keeping an eye on the situation, it said. "If you encounter a wild bird that is dead or dying, do not approach it, and under any circumstances do not touch it given the possibility (however small) that it might be infected with avian influenza. H5N1 is a highly contagious virus that can cause severe illness in people," it warned. Sensing gravity of the situation, Nature Conservation Foundation (NCF) scientist K.S. Gopi Sundar told that it's something an alarming situation. "We are getting reports of death of birds in nature across India. It's likely to be a disease because the deaths are occurring in multiple locations involving multiple species. It is a dangerous situation and needs multi-stakeholder intervention on priority," he said. At the Pong wetlands, preliminary findings of their post mortem have ruled out poisoning as the cause of their death, wildlife officials said. Every <keyword id="46788" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Winter">winter</keyword>, the Pong wetlands are home to over 100,000 birds of nearly 114 species. Among them the bar-headed goose, the northern pintail, the Eurasian coot, the common teal, the common pochard, the northern shoveler, the great cormorant, the Eurasian wigeon and the ruddy shelduck are notable. According to the <keyword id="99884" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bombay-Natural-History-Society">Bombay Natural History Society</keyword> (BNHS), the Pong wetlands are the one wintering grounds in the globe to hold such a large congregation of bar-headed geese. Most of the wetlands in India have been regularly getting bar-headed geese every winter. But Pong is the only habitat that holds the largest influx of bar-headed geese every winter, a BNHS ornithologist said. The government has also doubled the fine for people flouting COVID-19 rules effective from December 1. The fine for not wearing masks and not following social distancing norms has been hiked from ₹500 to ₹1,000. Gujarat: After Ahmedabad, night curfew in Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot The police commissioner of Ahmedabad, Sanjay Shrivastav, has decided to extend the night curfew in the city till December 11 in view of the prevailing coronavirus situation. The Gujarat government had imposed a night curfew in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot from Saturday 9:00 pm due to a massive rise in the number of coronavirus cases. After the Diwali festivities, there has been a significant rise in the number of COVID cases in Gujarat, especially in the financial capital of the state, Ahmedabad. Many people were seen roaming the markets without adhering the standard precautions. The state authorities had earlier announced the curfew till December 7. “People must remain indoors during this period. People must not stand at public roads, streets or public places or move around on foot or in vehicles during this period," the order said. Himachal Pradesh: Night curfew from 8 pm to 6 am Himachal Pradesh is the latest state to impose night curfew from 8 pm to 6 am in 4 districts — Shimla, Kangra, Mandi and Kullu. The government has ordered schools and colleges to be closed until December 31. The government has also increased the fine for not wearing masks from ₹500 to ₹1,000. Madhya Pradesh: Night curfew in five district The Madhya Pradesh Government has also ordered night curfew in five districts due to rising COVID-19 cases. They have already come into effect in Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Vidisha, and Ratlam districts from Saturday and will be effective from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am every day. Maharashtra: Covid negative report mandatory to enter Maharashtra As Covid-19 cases are on the upswing in several parts of the country, Maharashtra on Monday imposed conditions for all travellers arriving in the state from Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan and Delhi, starting from Wednesday (November 25). The state has made it compulsory for a RT-PCR negative test report for all people arriving by air, road or rail from these four states. In a notification, the state has said that for people who land here by flights, the RT-PCR test must have been done within 72 hours of their scheduled arrival at the Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Aurangabad airports. For those entering the state by roads, the administrations in the state's border districts will make arrangements for checking symptoms, body temperature and conducting tests before they are permitted onward travel in Maharashtra. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has also appealed to people to adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines, like wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, in the wake of rising coronavirus cases in the state. "Now, the issue comes whether we should impose another lockdown, which can be done with just one order. But we have seen earlier that markets and factories were closed and how people faced difficulty.
