Sambir, an independent candidate is winning by a margin of 14080 votes. Commonwealth gold medalist Phogat, who has said that she was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is one of the party’s star candidates in the state. There are seventeen candidates in the fray from the Dadri constituency. But she is also up against political heavyweights like Satpal Sangwan of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and Nirpender Singh Sangwan of the Congress. Exit polls predict a close contest for Phogat, which is known for its surprise victories. According to <a href="https://www.outlookindia.com/website/story/india-news-beti-khilao-bjps-babita-phogat-advocates-sports-for-women-in-haryana-polls/340594">reports</a>, no candidate has won a second term in the constituency, with elections almost always ending up in an exciting, close contest. The Dangal girl had joined the party along with her father Mahavir Phogat in August, and in the end of September featured in the BJP candidate list. One half of the Phogat sisters, Babita shot to fame with her victories in wrestling. She won a silver in the Commonwealth Games in 2010. She went on to win a gold in the games in 2014 and in 2018. Phogat is batting for development in Dadri, water issues, women’s development and one of her election promises has also been to increase the influence of sports in the region. She had also famously added on to PM Modi’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign, by saying Beti Khilao.

Mind you, this isn’t any other superstar movie of the year. Based on the story of a wrestler from Haryana, Dangal has released at a time when the people of India are suffering cash crunch during demonetization. 
 The film has opened at the theatres yesterday and slogged crazy revenue of Rs 30 crore on the first day itself, quite better than <keyword id="1671" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shah-Rukh-Khan">Shah Rukh Khan</keyword> starrer <keyword id="3437671" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dear-Zindagi">Dear Zindagi</keyword> and Ranveer Singh’s <keyword id="3077808" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Befikre">Befikre</keyword>.

Adarsh and <keyword id="1937420" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nahata">Nahata</keyword> in Twitter also predicted that the film will create a history in <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword>, the way it’s generating revenue. With more 50% online bookings being done in advance, Dangal is Aamir’s first film after his blockbuster PK (2014), which is still the highest grossing movie of all time.

After a six-year-long wait since winning India’s first gold medal in women’s wrestling in the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=commonwealth+games&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Commonwealth Games</a>, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=haryana+cabinet&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Haryana cabinet</a> finally approved the appointment of wrestler <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=geeta+phogat&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Geeta Phogat</a> as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in the state police this Tuesday. 
 
The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Manohar+Lal+Khattar+&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Manohar Lal Khattar </a>in <keyword id="41646" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Haryana">Haryana</keyword>, approved a Home Department proposal in this regard. 
 
"She is a graduate and a sportsperson of international repute. She is also a gold medallist in wrestling at the 19th Commonwealth Games-2010 held in Delhi," a state government spokesperson said. 
 
Phogat, who was also the first Indian woman wrestler to have qualified for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=london+olympics&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">London Olympics</a> in 2012, was selected for appointment as Inspector in Haryana Police under sports quota that year. In March, this year, she moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court for promotion to a post on par with her achievements. The High Court then directed the Haryana government to decide on her representation within two months. 
 
But the wait for the reward made the star wrestler frustrated over the years. "Humein aadat ho gayi thi wait karne ki. Sab khush hain par jitni khushi honi chahiye thi, utni nahin hai (We got used to waiting. Everyone is happy but we are not as happy as we should have been)," Geeta had told the Indian Express. 
 
"While other players were appointed (as DSP) on winning gold in the same event, we were denied this for six long years." She is likely to contest the bypoll in the state as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate. "I am going to take an active part in politics and campaign in the Baroda assembly bypoll (in the state), besides the Assembly elections in Bihar," she told the media after resignation. She and Kabaddi player Kavita Devi were appointed deputy directors in the sports department on July 30. Winner of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Babita had unsuccessfully contested the 2019 assembly poll from Dadri. Earlier, she had resigned from the post of police sub-inspector on August 13, 2019, a day after joining the BJP with her father Mahavir Singh Phogat, a Droncahraya award winner. As a strategist with both the RSS and the BJP, Khattar remained in the shadows until he was thrown into the spotlight in 2014 when he was chosen as the BJP's candidate for the CM elections. Controversies surrounding Khattar Khattar’s five-year term in the state has also been marred with multiple controversies with the biggest one being the Jat agitation in February 2016. The Jat agitation saw violent protests and unrests in the state as the community asked for inclusion in the Other Backward Class, so as to get the affirmative action benefits.
