After making its maiden foray in Gurugram in 1983, country's largest car maker <keyword id="6363602" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki-india-ltd" source="Orion">Maruti Suzuki India Ltd</keyword> is going to set up its third facility with an outlay of Rs 18,000 crore in <keyword id="41646" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="haryana" source="Orion">Haryana</keyword> that will give boost to the auto industry. The automaker already has two manufacturing facilities in Haryana. The upcoming facility will have a production capacity of 250,000 vehicles per annum and is expected to be commissioned by 2025. In the past few years, Haryana has made rapid strides on several fronts, including industrial development, under the leadership of Chief Minister <keyword id="2458540" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="manohar-lal-khattar" source="Orion">Manohar Lal Khattar</keyword>, an official statement said on Tuesday. Haryana is well on its way to inclusive growth driven by a strong commitment of the government towards public welfare and ensuring the advanced facilities to its citizens. Likewise, the government is actively working towards making the state an industrial and automobile hub. The growth in automobile sector in the state can be gauged by the fact that <keyword id="44883" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki" source="Orion">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> is coming up with its third plant in the state. <keyword id="6912" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="maruti" source="Orion">Maruti</keyword> Suzuki India Ltd, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd and Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) will sign an agreement for the allotment of 800-acre and 100 acre land at IMT Kharkhoda, respectively, at a ceremony on May 19 in Gurugram amidst the presence of the Chief Minister. The event would also celebrate the four decades of Haryana-Japan business relationship, which began in 1981 and continues to flourish even today, says the statement. Chief Minister Khattar said this is a huge achievement for the state as Maruti is setting up its third plant in the state. He said Maruti Suzuki has purchased an additional 800 acres at IMT Kharkhoda for its proposed new car manufacturing facility. The total project cost is estimated to be Rs 18,000 crore. It has the potential to generate employment for 11,000 skilled, unskilled and semi-skilled persons. Along with Maruti Suzuki, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd has also purchased a 100-acre land parcel for setting up an integrated manufacturing facility for two-wheelers, including engines. The total project cost is estimated to be Rs 1,466 crore, with a potential to generate employment for 2,000 skilled, unskilled and semi-skilled persons. "India is performing well in the ease-of-doing business and the ease-of-living index and Haryana is considered the fastest in both these respects. Haryana is one of the favourite destinations for global investors. Maruti played a major role towards development in the automobile sector and overall progress of the state," said the Chief Minister. "This will give a huge boost to the automobile sector and will motivate multinational companies in other sectors to set up their headquarters and manufacturing plants in Haryana. Along with this, new employment opportunities will also be created for the youth of the state. "Haryana has emerged as a magnet for the industry due to its enabling policies, availability of quality infrastructure, ease-of-doing business, conducive business environment and incentive structure. In Haryana, work was done to develop the industrial areas near the GT Roads and its proximity with Delhi other states too made it more preferred destination for industrial projects and there are dozens of industrial areas in multiple districts," said Khattar. The Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Kharkhoda, where Maruti Suzuki will be setting up its project, is an integrated industrial township with world-class infrastructure, being developed over an area of approximately 3,217 acres. It is strategically located on the Delhi-Haryana border, adjoining the western peripheral (Kundli-Manesar-Palwal) Expressway and State Highway 18. The IMT has abundant water and power supply from the NCR canal and the electricity utilities. Due to its proximity to Delhi and direct connectivity with Delhi Bahadurgarh, Gurugram and Sonipat via the KMP Expressway, Kharkhoda IMT will emerge as the next node for industrial development in Haryana. Regarding the expansion of Maruti Suzuki's foothold in Haryana, a spokesperson for the carmaker company said the company was in discussion with various state governments for their expansion plan but they find Haryana a suitable destination. "This first manufacturing facility at the site will have a production capacity of 250,000 vehicles per annum. It is expected to be commissioned by 2025. The land site will have space for capacity expansion and will include more production plants in the future," said the spokesperson. Notably, after setting up its first car plant at Gurugram in 1983, Maruti has steadily expanded its manufacturing footprint in Haryana by setting up a production facility at Manesar and a state-of-the-art R&amp;D centre in Rohtak. The two plants in Haryana - Gurugram and Manesar - together roll out around 15.5 lakh units annually. Today, the Gurugram-Manesar-Bawal belt is acknowledged as the auto hub of northern India. Maruti Suzuki India to set up its third facility with an outlay of ₹18,000 crore in Haryana

The Election Commission (EC) is likely to announce polling dates for Haryana on September 19. The term of current assembly elected in 2014 will expire on 2 November 2019. In the previous elections in 2014, Manohar Lal Khattar of the BJP became Chief Minister after his party won 47 of the 90 seats in the state, getting a clear majority. Notably, Khattar was the first non-jat chief minister of the state in 18 years. The Indian National Lok Dal won 19 seats, while the incumbent Congress won only 15. The BJP hopes to retain power in the state this time too, but it is facing anti-incumbency. However, a fractured opposition that consists of the Congress and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) could benefit the BJP. In 2014, the polling schedule for Maharashtra and Haryana was announced on September 20. Polling in both the states took place in a single phase on October 15. Results were announced on October 19. The term of current assembly elected in 2014 will expire on 2 November 2019. These state assembly elections will be the first after the Lok sabha Polls of 2019. They will also be the first after the abrogation of Article 370. These polls will serve as a litmus test for the BJP government amidst reports of acute economic slowdown.

Gandhi shared a video in which the MLA claimed that no matter which button is pressed on the EVM, the vote would go to the saffron party. On the other hand, stone pelting between supporters of the two key parties — Congress and the BJP — was reported from Nuh district in Mewat. Mewat has three Assembly constituencies -- Nuh, Ferozpur Jhirka and Punhana and about 500,000 voters. Voters at Sanghi in Haryana, which is the seat of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, were dancing at the polling station as they waited for their leader.

Haryana records its lowest voter turnout in last 5 elections — at 63.55%

Rapid Action Force personnel conducted a flag march in <keyword id="11900977" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="gurugram" source="Orion">Gurugram</keyword>'s Badshahpur early on Wednesday, morning following the clashes that broke out in Nuh district of the State. Security has been strengthened in the districts adjoining Nuh -- Faridabad, Palwal, and Gurugram-- in light of the violence that broke out between two groups on July 31. Section 144 has been imposed for 48 hours from Monday midnight in Nuh and mobile internet services have been temporarily suspended in the district. On Tuesday, fresh violence was reported from Gurugram in Badshahpur and on Sohna road. Assistant Commissioner of Police Varun Dahiya (Crime), Gurugram said today, "All schools, colleges and workplaces are functioning normally. There are no restrictions on the movement of traffic. The internet is also operational. I appeal to all to not pay heed to rumours on social media. If anyone wants to report any information, they can reach helpline number '112'." <keyword id="41646" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="haryana" source="Orion">Haryana</keyword> Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar yesterday said he suspected a "conspiracy" behind Monday's clashes. Khattar called the incident "unfortunate" and said that clashes broke out at several places and that a big conspiracy seems behind the violence. "This is an unfortunate incident. A Yatra was being organised during which some people conspired an attack Yatris and the police. Violent incidents were reported at several places. There seems to be a big conspiracy behind this," said Khattar. Haryana Deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, however, said that the violence in Nuh district could have been avoided if organisers of the yatra had given complete information about the yatra to the district administration. "Strict action will be taken against those found responsible," said Chautala, leader of the <keyword id="7208750" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="jannayak-janta-party" source="Orion">Jannayak Janta Party</keyword> (JJP) on the incidents of violence in the state. A total of five people have died including two home guards who were shot dead in Monday's clash in Nuh. The deceased home guards identified as Neeraj and Gursevak were deployed at Khedali Daula police station. Heavy police have been deployed in Nuh district and nearby areas. Curfew has also been imposed in Nuh and Section 144 has been imposed in some places. Chief minister Khattar informed that around 44 FIRs have been registered and 70 people have been taken into custody. Khattar also appealed to locals to maintain peace. Sixteen companies of central forces and 20 of the <keyword id="41669" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="haryana-police" source="Orion">Haryana Police</keyword> have been deployed in Nuh. Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav on Tuesday said that situation was totally under control and normalcy has been restored and markets have opened. "In Gurugram, the situation is totally under control, Sohna was our main focus area, a peace committee meeting has taken place there, normalcy restored and markets have opened. We have conducted a flag march as well," the Deputy Commissioner Yadav said. He further said, "In Gurugram one death was reported in Sector 57 mosque, 5 vehicles were torched in Sohna and two to three shops have been vandalised". (ANI)

Haryana assembly elections: 1.83 crore voters to decide the fate of the state

Strategically located in the Northern part of India, Haryana is one of the 29 states of India. Haryana emerged as an independent state when it was carved out from the state of Punjab in 1966. Total assets of ten poorest Haryana Assembly election candidates is just over ₹1 lakh

Chandigarh, Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal on Thursday said in order to reduce mental pressure over students, the Board of School Education would reduce the <keyword id="6375423" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="syllabus">syllabus</keyword> of the students studying in classes IX to XII in the current academic session. The Minister said that the schools remained closed across the state during the lockdown amid COVID-19 pandemic. Haryana government has made adequate arrangements to impart online education. In order to reduce mental pressure on students, now the state has decided to reduce the syllabus by following the pattern of CBSE. Pal said to reduce the syllabus, the state has instructed the Board of School Education to set up a committee by coordinating with the SCERT in Gurugram and to put up the proposal within a week after exploring all possibilities in this regard.

"We will reopen schools in a phased manner by starting teaching work for Classes 10, 11 and 12 from July 1, for Classes VI, VII, VIII and IX after 15 days and for the primary classes in August," he said. "The classes will be held in shifts so that half the students of a class attend the first shift and the rest come in the second. We are yet to decide on the timings of the shifts," he added. Meanwhile, the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) announced that Class 10 results will be declared on June 8. Its Chairman Jagbir Singh said Class 12 students will have to appear for their pending exams from July 1 to July 15.

Chandigarh: Listing out the measures taken by his government to compensate <keyword id="19934969" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="farmers" source="keywords">farmers</keyword> over this year's subnormal rain, Haryana Chief Minister <keyword id="20928101" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="nayab-singh-saini" source="keywords">Nayab Singh Saini</keyword> countered the <keyword id="19895371" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Congress" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Congress" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Congress">Congress</keyword> criticism over the issue, saying the opposition party would give only "meagre amounts" while it was in power. "We have released the first instalment of Rs 525 crore on Friday," he said. All the farmers who have registered on the designated portal will be compensated for their losses, he said. Saini said the BJP-led government in the state has taken several steps for farmers' welfare in the past ten years. "Congress sheds crocodile tears in the name of farmers. They should tell how much crops they procured from farmers in the ten years between 2005-2014," Saini said. Saini said while the Congress is wearing a mask of honesty these days, everyone knows how farmers' land was "snatched by them in the name of CLU (change of land use)" and handed them over to builders.
