This weekend, we're re-running our reviews of the five cars that almost beat out the Volvo for the honor.</span></em></p><p>The BMW 7 Series sits atop the Bavarian luxury-car maker's hierarchy of vehicles. It's supposed to be the smooth, suave, powerful luxury flagship sedan you graduate to when you're ready for the full-size semi-limo experience.</p><p>But the 7 Series - offered in three different trim levels, 740, 750, and 760 - has always been a divisive car for BMW fans and auto enthusiasts. As far as the "ultimate driving machine" goes, the 7 Series is a lot less fun to drive than its siblings, the 3 and 5 Series - unless you're idea of fun to drive is motoring along in a straight line at high speed with Beethoven ringing in your ears. It's big. It's quiet. It's remarkably well appointed. But it's just ... kind of ... boring, in the way that a 20-room mansion is. <em>Oh look ... another ... room ...</em></p><p>Because it tries to retain some of the performance character of the smaller Bimmers, it doesn't match up well with its main competition, the Mercedes S Class. And because it's a four-door, a lot of buyers may look away and cast their gazes more lustily on BMW's SUVs and crossovers, which are more versatile, if less plutocratic.</p><p>At Business Insider, we debate the 7 Series more than any other luxury car. Matt DeBord has always disliked it; Ben Zhang thinks it isn't so bad. But both agree that even though you can objectively find a lot to like about the 7 Series, it has lagged behind another competitor, Audi's A8, when it comes to the technology story. (The A8 is one of the best car-tech experiences we've ever enjoyed.)</p><p>But, boy, has BMW changed the terms of the debate. The new 7 Series, which debuted earlier this year, is absolutely crammed with tech. And by crammed we mean <em>suffused.</em> Every aspect of the sedan is technologically amplified, enhanced, enabled. Not that this is exactly new: The 7 Series has always been a tech platform for BMW, going back to the early 2000s' introduction of the controversial iDrive system.</p><p>But the new 7 Series takes it to a whole 'nother level. As we found when BMW let us borrow an M Sport version of the 750i xDrive, tricked out with every bell, whistle, and, we think, possible trumpet, harmonica, and bass viola that BMW had in its techno orchestra.</p>

2015 Car of the Year Finalist: The BMW 7 Series is a high-tech masterpiece

<p>The boys, who play together in a jug band called <a href="http://theeasyrollers.bandcamp.com/">The Easy Rollers</a>, packed a travel-sized acoustic guitar, a cigar box fiddle, and a harmonica, and a camera, and set off on a back road <keyword id="31979" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="bike">bike</keyword> trip down the east coast and then out west to San Diego.</p>
<p><span>"Every day, we were seeing something amazing," Perry said. "We didn't even have to go off-route. With fewer people around, it felt like it was ours."</span></p>
<p><span>The boys were tested early on when Meara-Bainbridge broke his arm in Kentucky, forcing them to return home before hitting the road again in the spring. They had plenty of hard days too, biking through torrential rainstorms and scorching southwestern temperatures, but it was nothing they couldn't handle.</span></p>
<p>"No one should think they're not qualified to do this," Perry said. "You don't need to be a star athlete, you just need the motivation and determination."</p>

Everyone wants to upgrade those dinky earbuds that came with their phone, right? Well, this is how you do it.</p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some context: 1More is a young OEM that the&#xa0;</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2015/08/26/1more-chinas-answer-to-beats/" target="_blank">Wall Street Journal once called</a>&#xa0;</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">"China's answer to Beats." I wouldn't go that far, but it has sold millions of headphones in its home country, and it does have close ties to a big smartphone maker in&#xa0;</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/category/xiaomi" target="_blank">Xiaomi</a>.&#xa0;<span>1More</span></span>&#xa0;made its big push into the US late last year, with its whole schtick being that it'd provide quality audio at affordable prices.</p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Of course, everyone says that. But here, at least with the Triple Driver, it's true.</span></p><p>Everything about the Triple Driver screams attention to detail. The aluminum earpieces are smooth and substantial. You pick them up and realize you're not dealing with a toy.</p><p>This means they're a bit weighty - enough for me to tell you to look elsewhere if you looking for something to take running - but they balance that heft well. They don't drag down your ears. They always have a presence, but I never found them uncomfortable. Whenever a friend asks me about which headphones to get, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/bose-quietcomfort-35-review-best-noise-cancelling-headphones-2016-6" target="_blank">topic of noise-cancelling</a> inevitably comes up, and most of the time I tell them to stay away. In-ears like Triple Driver are why: Unless your job involves being in or around an engine room, chances are you will not hear the outside world with these things in, and the music on.<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Now, my ears are not your ears. If you can't find a good fit, though, 1More puts </span><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">nine</span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;"> sets of extra tips in the box, each of which come in different sizes and/or materials. That's a ton. There's a leathery little carrying case, a shirt clip, and an airline jack adapter in there too. Even the box itself is nice. It all feels like a flagship product.</span></p><p>All of this would amount to&#xa0;lip service if the Triple Driver sounded like junk, but that's entirely not the case. The name "Triple Driver" comes from the fact that 1More's put, well, three drivers in each earpiece. Without getting too deep into the technical weeds, just know that "drivers" are the vibrating bits of a headphone that create the sound you hear, and that very few earphones under $100 include three of them.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/57dc1b20077dcc3d018b6546-1500/1more-triple-driver-4.png" alt="1more triple driver box" data-mce-source="Business Insider/Jeff Dunn"><p class="source"><span>Business Insider/Jeff Dunn</span></p><p class="caption">The Triple Driver's box and included eartips.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div>The idea is to make it so the Triple Driver can hit more frequency ranges, and in practice, that's largely the case. Bass is punchy and impactful, but not bloated. It strikes a wonderful balance between being fun and not being inaccurate. Highs are clean and clear - things like the harmonica solo on Bob Dylan's "Queen Jane Approximately" break through the mix without feeling dull or&#xa0;overly harsh. Even the mids, which tend to get lost with smaller in-ears, are given (relatively) good depth and detail.&#xa0;<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">All told, this is a rich, well-measured sound that'll appeal to cheapie audiophiles and "regular" people alike. No one part of it dominates the others, but it doesn't go for that ultra-flat sound that can make high-end cans feel boring. Instead, it's exciting, without selling out everything but the bass to get there. There's even some width to it.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So, yeah, it's great. I could wish for a little more oomph in the sub-bass, a little more smoothness in the treble, or a sweatproof design, but for $100, this is as out-and-out&#xa0;</span><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">nice&#xa0;</span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;">as</span>&#xa0;in-ear headphones get. If you still own a phone with a&#xa0;<span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-iphone-7-no-headphone-jack-confirmed-2016-9" target="_blank">headphone jack</a>,&#xa0;</span>go buy them. Even if you don't, and you care about audio, they might make using that dongle worth it.&#xa0;</p>

'China's answer to Beats' has created one of the best in-ear headphones you can buy for $100

<p>Wojcicki, who's been called the "<a href="http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_17286427" target="_blank">most important Googler you've never heard of</a>," has a big job ahead of her.  </p>
<p>"There's a perception that YouTube is punching below its weight," Ynon Kreiz, CEO of Maker Studios, one of the leading management-production companies, <a href="http://www.fastcompany.com/3033534/rebooting-youtube" target="_blank">told Nicole Laporte in a Fast Company profile of Wojcicki</a>.</p>
<p>One of Wojcicki's duties is to help YouTube monetize its audience more effectively. Part of that is finding ways for YouTube to further promote its home-grown stars - <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/haul-teenage-youtube-shopping-star-bethany-mota-2014-1" target="_blank">like Bethany Mota</a>, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/epic-rap-battles-q-and-a-2014-8" target="_blank">Epic Rap Battles duo</a>, and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/who-is-evantubehd-2014-9" target="_blank">8-year-old Evan</a> - to attract more high-quality, deep-pocketed advertisers to the service.</p>
<p>She also wants to make it easier for viewers to <a href="http://fortune.com/2014/06/25/susan-wojcicki-wants-to-make-youtube-a-little-more-like-tv/" target="_blank">discover new content</a> (users upload <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/what-happens-on-youtube-every-minute-2014-6" target="_blank">100 hours of video every minute</a>), and to make video quality and streaming even better (the goal is to make sure videos can play in HD on any device with no lag). </p>
<p>Wojcicki can't tackle these goals alone.</p>
<p>In the last few months, she's made a bunch of internal "hires" to help build out YouTube's tech offerings, plucking veteran Googlers away from their old posts to help support YouTube's big ambitions. </p>

The day has finally come and like anything that David Lynch touches, it is worth experiencing for yourself. As expected, Lynch knows how to use music to evoke a certain mood and put the listener into a specific mindset. While not the masterpiece of his career, it is still a Lynch piece of work that should be listened to while it’s still fresh in mind.</span></p>

It twinkles in just the right notes and his voice just melts into the song to create a harmony that’s soothing and easy to listen to over and over again.</p>

My job is to get up, and get dressed in someone else's clothes, and go and pretend that I'm someone else. Who does that? Nobody does that. Strippers and actors do that."</span></span></p>
<p><strong>3. Her heartbeat actually accelerates while filming:</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><span><span><span>"She's not one of those actresses who is walking around with her headphones listening to Nine Inch Nails to get into a scene," says her "The One I Love" co-star, Mark Duplass. "She's joking around casually and then you yell 'Action' and her heartbeat goes to 150 beats per minute." The heart rate may be an exaggeration, but the massive spike is not: On '</span>The One I Love,'<span> her mike had to be changed and moved so it wouldn't pick up its sound."</span></span></span></p>
<p><strong>4. She is a bit of a hermit:</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">"I have a weird sequestering thing that happened. As a [child] dancer, you don't know a lot about normal everyday life. You grow up in this little world of ballet, and I feel like that carried on into my adult life, where I have blinders on to a lot of stuff." </p>

But Moss does not talk about Scientology even with friends and seems very comfortable with how uncomfortable it makes other people. "I would feel the same way, honestly," she says. "I think if there was something that I didn't know and didn't understand, I would probably feel as opinionated. You know how you're opinionated about when someone breaks up? Celebrities break up and you just feel like you know what happened?"</span></span></span></span></p>
<p><strong>8. She divorced Fred Armisen after 8 months:</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><span><span><span><span><span>"Looking back, I feel like I was really young, and at the time I didn't think that I was that young. It was extremely traumatic and awful and horrible. At the same time, it turned out for the best. I'm glad that I'm not there. I'm glad that it didn't happen when I was 50. I'm glad I didn't have kids. And I got that out of the way. Hopefully. Like, that's probably not going to happen again."</span></span></span></span></span></p>
