The Gurugram administration on Wednesday declared 10 more containment zones in the district taking the tally to 45. The decision was taken after review committee meeting wherein 14 new areas detected in the district having fresh cases appeared within five days. Earlier, Gurugram had 35 cases five days ago. Officials have also lifted containment zones at four places including Tyagiwada in Gurugram block, Shiv Kund, Bharatwada, and Thakur wada in Sohna block. Gurugram identifies 18 new containment zones— tally rises to 63

With the increase in the number of coronavirus patients in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddha Nagar, the number of containment zones is also increasing steadily. At present, the district has a total of 63 containment zones. Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate Suhas L.Y. shared the information on this late on Wednesday night on social media. The tweet from his official Twitter handle stated, "Containment Zone has been updated. (Its) size will be smaller than the previous lockdown. Officers are defining Parameter and Buffer Zone." The Containment Zone is divided into two categories 'First and Second' in the list issued. Accordingly, there are 37 Containment Zones in the first category and 26 in the second category. In the first category, the area of contaiment would be 250 meters, and the second category would be an area of 500 meters. A total of 1,523 patients have recovered whereas 2,797 new patients were admitted in health facilities or home isolated in same period. Gurugram currently has 2,329 cases which is almost 45% of the total cases in the state of Haryana. Haryana will open schools in July and in colleges and universities in August, state Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar said. "We will reopen schools in a phased manner by starting teaching work for Classes 10, 11 and 12 from July 1, for Classes VI, VII, VIII and IX after 15 days and for the primary classes in August. "The traffic movement is completely smooth between Gurugram and Delhi, and Faridabad and Delhi and so is elsewhere," a senior police official told IANS. Kurukshetra district, which had so far remained COVID-19 free, reported its first two cases. Faridabad (2), Karnal (1), Nuh (7), Yamunanagar (3) and Jind (1) also reported fresh cases. Out of the total positive cases, the total number of active COVID-19 cases in the state now stands at 149, the state health department's evening bulletin said, adding that 30 patients have been discharged. The state has recorded two COVID-19 related deaths. As many as 3,903 samples have been tested so far, out of which 2,513 have tested negative. However, the reports of 1,204 samples is still pending. Among the total coronavirus cases reported in Haryana, 10 are foreign nationals while 64 are from other states, as per the bulletin. The worst affected districts of the state with maximum number of positive cases are Nuh (45), Gurugram (32), Faridabad (31) and Palwal (29). Among other places in the state, containment orders have been issued by the deputy commissioners concerned for 140 villages, including 104 buffer zones in Nuh district. New Delhi, May 18 () Uber on Monday said it is introducing a set of measures, including mandatory usage of face masks for both driver and rider in India during a ride, as part of its efforts to ensure safety amid COVID-19 pandemic.Under the fourth phase of lockdown starting Monday, states and union territories have been given the power decide on the containment, buffer, red, orange and green zones, after taking into consideration the parameters shared by the health ministry. Depending on the states' decision, ride-hailing platforms like Uber and Ola will resume services in various locations and follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs)."Starting today, drivers and riders will have to wear face masks if they are using Uber in India and in most other countries where Uber operates," Uber Global Senior Director Product Management Sachin Kansal told reporters.He added that this is part of COVID-19 specific safety features and policies being introduced to ensure safety of drivers and riders."Over the last two months, our global tech and safety product teams have been hard at work building a new, product experience for riders and drivers. Today, as India eases its lockdown, it's important we take all necessary precautions to help keep ourselves safe and to make the next trip safer for all," Kansal said. These new features and policies have been rolled out globally, and will be enhanced and revised as needed to ensure a safer experience for all, he added.Before they go online on the platform, driver-partners will be asked to confirm - via a new Go Online Checklist - that they've taken certain safety measures and are wearing a face mask. They will also have to upload a selfie wearing a face mask, and Uber's new technology will verify the identity of the driver.A similar checklist has been built for riders and before every trip, the rider will have to confirm that they've taken precautions like wearing a face mask, and washing or sanitising their hands. Kansal said new options for feedback have also been added for both rider and driver to inform the company if the other party was not wearing a mask or face cover.He added that the cancellation policy have also been updated to allow drivers and riders to cancel trips if they don't feel safe, including if a user is not wearing a mask or face cover. To allow for space between the driver and rider during a ride, Uber is advising riders not to sit in the front seat, and only two riders will be allowed in the rear seat of the car.The company said it is working with global and local public health authorities, and has compiled safety tips and recommendations that will be sent to all riders and drivers. Both Uber and Ola had suspended operations after the government announced a nationwide lockdown from March 25 to contain the spread of COVID-19. After 40 days of lockdown, some relaxations were provided in the third phase of the lockdown from May 4, including allowing cab services to operate with conditions in locations that have very few or no confirmed cases reported (orange and green zones).Uber had announced starting operations in 25 cities including Jamshedpur, Kochi, Cuttack and Guwahati (green zone) as well as locations like Amritsar, Rohtak, Gurugram and Visakhapatnam (orange zone) in the third phase of the lockdown. It has not yet announced the additional cities, where it will resume operations.The Home Affairs Ministry, on Sunday, said inter-state movement of passenger vehicles and buses with mutual consent of the states and union territories involved would be permitted with restrictions (except in containment zones).
