The Gujarat-based firm had earlier filed an application for anti-dumping duty on Caprolactam as cheap imports by some countries were disrupting trade for domestic players. The company manufactures fertilisers and industrial chemicals. <div type="image" title="gujarat state fert chart" height="900" width="1200" msid="86576500" hostid="261"></div> Basically, anti-dumping duty is a tariff imposed on imports from other countries that export products at cheaper value thereby disrupting trade in the domestic market. To ensure a level playing field in the domestic market, the government imposes anti-dumping duty on foreign imports when it believes that the goods are being “dumped” – through the low pricing – in the domestic market. Anti-dumping duty is imposed to protect local businesses and markets from unfair competition. The company had alleged that material injury was being caused to the domestic industry due to dumped imports from the subject countries and has requested the DGTR for the imposition of the anti-dumping duties on the imports. The imposition of anti-dumping duty is permissible under the World Trade Organisation (WTO) regime. The duty is aimed at ensuring fair trading practices and creating a level-playing field for domestic producers vis-a-vis foreign producers and exporters. Here's why there are lifeguards at the Olympics

New Delhi, Dec 20 () Leading stock exchange NSE on Friday said it has entered into a pact with the Gujarat government to work jointly for the promotion and development of MSMEs (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises) in the state.
The MoU will address multiple avenues for MSMEs in terms of fund raising and understanding of hedging foreign exchange fluctuations for MSMEs engaged in imports and exports business, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) said in a statement.
 Apart from this, a fund is also being created by the state government on the NSE platform to encourage investors to invest in the fast-growing SMEs in the state.
 As part of the pact, the NSE said it will support the efforts of the Gujarat government in enhancing the financing opportunities for MSMEs, through listing on NSE's SME exchange platform, EMERGE.
 Besides, the exchange would handhold MSMEs through the process of listing, thereby empowering them to achieve their next level of growth.
The government has decided to support MSMEs financially by bearing a part of the expenses related to listing.
 Listing helps companies get better access to capital for expansion and growth and provides visibility to local companies at the national level.
 Further, the government and the NSE will also work jointly to promote the online digital bills receivable discounting platform.
 "The joint initiative between Gujarat government and the NSE will bring growth and development for MSMEs in the state. The Gujarat government and NSE, together are working towards making this funding available for MSMEs in the state," Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said.
 The exchange said similar intent and policies have been introduced by Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
 "Gujarat has strong and robust business ecosystem comprising industrial clusters of Jamnagar, Baroda, Morbi, Bhavnagar and Rajkot. The MoU...is to support the efforts of the Government of Gujarat to facilitate the SMEs in enhancing their financing opportunities and help them catapult to the next level of growth," NSE MD and CEO Vikram Limaye said.
 NSE SME platform EMERGE has 205 companies listed currently and together raised Rs 3,192 crore. Of these, 64 firms are from Gujarat that garnered over Rs 900 crore. SP ANU

NSE joins hands with Gujarat govt to promote MSMEs

Gujarat Government has today banned the sale of <keyword id="75190" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nestle">Nestle</keyword>'s instant noodle brand 'Maggi' for a month in the state after the product failed the food safety test, asking the company to withdraw all its stock of <keyword id="13633" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maggie">Maggie</keyword> from the state. 
 Apart from Maggi, the state government also tested one sample each of instant <keyword id="60202" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Noodles">noodles</keyword> of <keyword id="17095" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Sunfeast">Sunfeast</keyword> and S K Foods and has banned the latter for a month as high lead content of 4 PPM was found in it. 
 
"Twenty seven samples collected from different parts of the state were tested by Gujarat Food and Drug Control Administration. The test has shown that lead was present above the prescribed limit while Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) was also present," Gujarat Health Minister Nitin Patel told PTI. 
 
Of the 27 samples, lead content in 14 of them was found to be 2.8 PPM to 5 PPM (particle per million), which is above the prescribed limit of 2.5 PPM. Presence of excess lead is harmful for health, he said. 
 
"Monosodium glutamate, which should not be present in the product, was found in all the samples tested. For these reasons, the government has banned the sale and distribution of Maggi noodles for one month in the state. The government has also informed Nestle to withdraw all its Maggi stock from Gujarat," Patel said. 
 
He said the health department will conduct inspections across the state to enforce the ban and action will be taken against those selling the product in any part of the state. 
 
"Sample of Sunfeast passed the lead test, but traces of monosodium glutamate were found in it. We will test more samples of Sunfeast before taking any action on its instant noodle," he said.

The shares of NBCC ended 3% higher on Monday. HCC HCC defaults on loan payment worth ₹1,836.1 crore. The shares of HCC ended 4% higher on Monday. Sun Pharma The promoter of Sun Pharma, Shanghvi Finance, pledged 10 lakh shares on December 3 in favour of Deutsche Investments India as a security for the loan availed by a subsidiary company. Coffee Day Enterprises Malavika Hegde, the wife of late VG Siddhartha Hegde, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Coffee Day Enterprises from December 7. Top stocks to watch — Canara Bank, Sun Pharma, Titan, NBCC, Gujarat State Fertilizers, Coffee Day, and others

<keyword id="2934282" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gujarat-Food-and-Drug-Control-Authority">Gujarat Food and Drug Control Authority</keyword> (FDCA) on Monday said it removed the ban on the sale of <keyword id="75190" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nestle">Nestle</keyword> India’s ‘<keyword id="6369404" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maggi">Maggi</keyword>’ noodles after the <keyword id="48485" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bombay-high-court">Bombay High Court</keyword> lifted the nationwide ban on it in August. 

	“FDCA had lifted the ban on Maggi in Gujarat after the Bombay High Court passed an order to lift the ban across India. We took the decision based on the court order,” Gujarat FDCA Commissioner H G Koshia said. 
 The <keyword id="6370685" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gujarat-Government">Gujarat government</keyword> had banned the sale of Maggi for a month in June this year after the lead and monosodium glutamate levels in the noodles were found to be above the prescribed limits. Later, the ban was subsequently extended till September. However, the Gujarat FDCA revoked the ban mid-way in August following court order. On August 13, the Bombay High Court had lifted the nationwide ban imposed by Indian food regulators on Maggi noodles, and asked its manufacturer Nestle India Pvt Ltd to go for a fresh test of samples in three independent laboratories across India. 

	But Maggi is still not available in Gujarat markets, as the company is following court order to get its samples tested from three approved laboratories. The state government had in the first week of June banned Maggi sale in the state after the product failed the food safety test. The government had also asked the company to withdraw all its stock of Maggi from the state. 
 

	At that time, the government claimed that all 27 samples collected from different parts of the state had failed the tests, as lead content was found above the prescribed limit in 14 samples while monosodium glutamate, which should not be there at all, was found in all the samples. 
 

	Nestle India had on Friday said that all samples of Maggi have cleared tests conducted by three laboratories, as mandated by Bombay High Court, paving the way for the instant noodles brand to be back in the market after it was banned over the presence of excess lead. The company said it will now commence manufacturing and will sell “only after the newly manufactured products are also cleared by the designated three laboratories”.

MUMBAI: The markets are on a roll, with the <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> and Nifty making fresh life highs, led by gains in banks, auto and energy counters. 
 
The new life high for Sensex is 26,356.24; and that for Nifty is 7,865.85. 
 
The Nifty extended its winning streak for fifth consecutive session and hit an all-time high as FIIs continued to pump in dollars in Indian markets on expectations of pick-up in economy 
 
Sudip Bandyopadhyay, President, Destimoney Securities, is of the view that the market will continue to move upwards. 
 
“A lot of FIIs money is coming out of Russia into Indian markets through BRICS fund. Domestic investors are also entering the market and that is providing support,” said Bandyopadhyay. 
 
At 2:02 p.m.; the 50-share index was at 7,860.95, up 69.25 points or 0.89 per cent. It touched an all-time high of 7,865.85 and a low of 7,779.20 in trade today. 
 The S&amp;P <keyword id="35140" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="BSE">BSE</keyword> Sensex was at 26,340.82, up 237.59 points or 0.91 per cent. It touched an all-time high of 26,356.24 and a low of 26,075.28 in trade today. 
 
Sandeep Tandon of Quant Broking is of the view that market went through consolidation in the last three months. It is light at the moment and looks set for next leg of upmove. 
 
The CNX Midcap Index rallied 1.27 per cent and the CNX Smallcap Index surged 2.10 per cent. 
 
Among the sectoral indices, the CNX Bank Nifty was up 1.49 per cent, the CNX Auto Index gained 1.02 per cent, the CNX Energy Index rose 1.42 per cent. 
 
The CNX FMCG Index was down 0.75 per cent and the CNX IT Index slipped 0.51 per cent. 
 BPCL (up 5.25 per cent), <keyword id="6355975" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Axis-Bank">Axis Bank</keyword> (up 3.11 per cent), <keyword id="45008" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Power">Tata Power</keyword> (up 3.04 per cent), BHEL (up 2.91 per cent) and Tata Motors (up 2.87 per cent) were among the major Nifty gainers. 
 
ITC (1.92 per cent), Infosys (1.01 per cent), HCL Tech (0.80 per cent), HDFC (0.70 per cent) and TCS (0.68 per cent) were among the index losers. 
 
The market breadth was positive on the NSE with 1090 gainers against 425 losers. 
 
Foreign institutional investors were net buyers worth Rs 625.18 crore and domestic institutional investors were net buyers worth Rs 135.75 crore on Thursday as per the provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.

The <keyword id="3274960" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-High-Speed-Rail-Corporation-Limited">National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited</keyword> (NHSRCL) on Saturday said that it has opened two <keyword id="1115984" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Technical-bids">technical bids</keyword> for <keyword id="34617" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="construction">construction</keyword> or building of bridges for the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor in the state of <keyword id="6354766" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gujarat">Gujarat</keyword> and <keyword id="382155" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dadra">Dadra</keyword> and Nagar Haveli in which nine companies have participated. NHSRCL spokesperson Sushma Gaur said that the technical bids for contract packages of P-1(B) and P-1(C) for construction or building of bridges for the MAHSR corridor in the state of Gujarat as well union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. She said that as of now, 5 bidders for <keyword id="10880154" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="p-1">P-1</keyword> (C) whereas four bidders for P-1 (B) have submitted their bids for the package. She said that the P-1 (C) package includes construction of bridges for double line High Speed railway for four PSC Bridges and seven steel truss bridges between Zaroli Village at Maharashtra -- Gujarat Border and Vadodara, in Gujarat and the union territory of Dadar and Nagar Haveli for the project. Gaur said that for the P-1 (C) package, Ranjit Buildcon Limited, MG Contractors Pvt Ltd, KEC-SAM India JV and GRIL-GPT JV have participated in the technical bids. Meanwhile, package P-1 (B) includes the construction of bridges for double line high speed railway for one PSC Bridge and four steel truss bridges between Vadodara and <keyword id="5065" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ahmedabad">Ahmedabad</keyword>, in Gujarat for the project. She said that Ranjit Buildcon Limited, MG Contractors Pvt Ltd, KEC-SAM India JV and GRIL-GPT JV and URC Construction Pvt Ltd have participated in the technical bids. Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> and then Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe had on September 14, 2017 laid the foundation stone for the ambitious ₹1.08 lakh crore ($17 billion) project. Bullet trains are expected to run at 320 km per hour covering the 508-km stretch in about two hours. In comparison, trains currently plying on the route take over seven hours to travel the distance, whereas flights take about an hour.
