On the other hand, investors aged between 40 and 49 have witnessed a dip in market participation, dipping to 15.5% in September 2024, as opposed to 20.3% as of March 2018. Similar downtrends were noticed in other age brackets as well, namely 50-59 and 60+ age cohorts. Financial analysts suggest that younger investors bring a new dynamic to the market, often favoring high-growth, technology-driven investments. In contrast, older investors have traditionally leaned toward more stable and conservative options.

Disney stock surges as rare 3-year forecast sees strong profit growth ahead 

New Delhi: Shares of Federal Bank on Tuesday jumped 8 per cent after the firm posted an 11 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 1,057 crore in the September quarter. The stock climbed 8 per cent to Rs 199.55 on the BSE. At the NSE, it soared 7.83 per cent to Rs 199.49. The lender had earned a net profit of Rs 954 crore in the year-ago period. The total income increased to Rs 7,541 crore during the quarter under review against Rs 6,186 crore in the same quarter last year, Federal Bank said in a regulatory filing on Monday. The bank reported an interest income of Rs 6,577 crore during the quarter, higher than Rs 5,455 crore in the same period a year earlier. Net interest income (NII) grew 15 per cent to Rs 2,367 crore, as compared to Rs 2,056 crore in the same quarter a year ago. As regards asset quality, the bank witnessed an improvement with gross non-performing assets (NPAs) declining to 2.09 per cent of the gross loans by the end of September 2024, from 2.26 per cent a year ago. Similarly, net NPAs, or bad loans, moderated to 0.57 per cent from 0.64 per cent at the end of the second quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and West Bengal combined now accounts for almost one out of every four investors in the stock markets. In its report, the NSE stated, "It is also interesting to note that the top five states of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and West Bengal now comprise nearly half (48 pc) of all investors in the country." "What has now become the biggest risk in the Fed's cut and aggressive guidance, and the one markets are not pricing - that there is no landing at all," Blitz said.Blitz is concerned that the Fed will keep interest rates too low for too long, leading to a hot economy and making inflation once again Wall Street's biggest worry."The Fed will not get the funds rate down to 3%, but the terminal rate for this round will nevertheless end up too low and be kept there for too long. While Sensex inched up over 690 points to close at 79,476.63 points, Nifty closed the day over the 24k mark, at 24,213.30, up by 217 points. During the day, Sensex had soared 740.89 points, or 0.94%, to touch 79,523.13 points. From the 30-share Sensex pack, JSW Steel surged nearly 5% while Tata Steel jumped nearly 4%. Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and UltraTech Cement were also among the big gainers. On the other hand, Tech Mahindra, Lupin, Britannia, and Infosys were among the major laggards on Sensex. On Nifty, where 39 stocks advanced during the day and the remaining 11 saw declines, Tata Steel, Hindalco, and JSW Steel were among the top gainers. Adani Ports, ITC, Bharti Airtel, and Asian Paints were among the leading laggards. In Asian markets, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong settled in the positive territory, while Seoul ended lower.
