Markets regulator <keyword id="19901201" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sebi" source="keywords">SEBI</keyword> has proposed expanding the <keyword id="22367248" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sustainable-finance-framework" source="keywords">sustainable finance framework</keyword> in the <keyword id="20922662" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="securities-market" source="keywords">securities market</keyword> by introducing a new category of financial instruments. This category will include <keyword id="20518791" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Social-Bonds" source="keywords">social bonds</keyword>, <keyword id="22623575" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sustainable-Bonds" source="keywords">sustainable bonds</keyword>, and <keyword id="22623576" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sustainability-linked-Bonds" source="keywords">sustainability-linked bonds</keyword>, in addition to the current <keyword id="22819966" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="green-debt-securities" source="keywords">green debt securities</keyword>. It aims to provide issuers with flexibility in raising funds for projects that align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives. In a consultation paper released on Friday, SEBI proposed that issuers, in addition to existing green debt securities, should be allowed to raise funds through issuance of social bonds, sustainable bonds, and sustainability-linked bonds. These bonds will collectively be known as ESG Debt Securities. This will enable issuers to raise money for more sustainable projects, assisting in closing the funding gap for the Sustainable Development Goals. SEBI said it received representations from market participants including the Confederation of Indian Industry to expand the scope of the regulatory framework pertaining to sustainable finance to include social bonds, in addition to existing green debt securities as a mode of raising sustainable finance, in line with global practices. As per the consultation paper, SEBI said, it "proposed to introduce the concept of sustainable securitised debt instruments for the purpose of providing originators of the underlying credit facilities which are within such international or domestic frameworks for sustainable finance, and thereby provide investors as well an opportunity to participate in the sustainable securitised debt instruments". The consultation paper also addressed the initial and continuous disclosures for sustainable securitised debt instruments that would be based on international frameworks. Initial disclosures could be made in the offer document for the securities, while continuous disclosures might be included in annual reports or other mandated formats. The markets watchdog also suggested that issuers of ESG debt securities and sustainable securitised debt instruments appoint an independent external reviewer or certifier, to facilitate transparency and credibility. The review could take various forms including, second-party opinions, verification, certification, or scoring/ rating. I told her she could just leave the phone in her room and still come out. That situation seemed unfathomable to me, a total invasion of privacy, especially for an adult. <ul class="summary-list"><li>In my third year in college, I suddenly started having issues whenever I ate dairy.</li><li>I stopped eating it, and have remained dairy-free for the last 15 years.</li></ul>I grew up eating grilled cheese sandwiches and Frosted Flakes with milk. There was nothing I enjoyed more than going to the ice cream shop.Suddenly, that joy was stripped away from me the summer before my <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/college-student-studying-abroad-classmates-taking-luxury-trips-2024-4">third year in college</a>. I went from eating ice cream in the dorm cafeteria daily to enduring excruciating pain almost anytime I ate anything with dairy.<h2 id="68e812fa-17c4-452f-b590-a4f5767d18a1">My intolerance for dairy happened out of the blue</h2>The first time I remember experiencing pain was when I took a medication I needed to take with food. I decided to have it with milk and cereal, which I used to love. For the first time, it made me nauseous. I wondered if it was related to the medication, which had given me <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/health/conditions-symptoms/stomach-ache">stomach pains</a> before. But since it was rare for me to have an upset stomach, I developed an aversion to milk and never had it or took the medicine again.Weeks later, I ate ice cream, and it also led to unbearable, pulsating pain that brought me to my knees for hours. I can now say that pain was almost as bad as <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/health/reproductive-health/braxton-hicks">labor contractions</a>, except maybe worse, because it was nonstop. I stopped eating ice cream, too.The next semester, I made homemade mac and cheese for a classmate, and after a couple of bites, it immediately upset my stomach. The last straw was when one of my professors bought pizza for our class. I tried to eat it, but within minutes, I was running to the bathroom.I was never officially diagnosed, but I began to believe I was <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/health/conditions-symptoms/lactose-intolerance-symptoms">lactose intolerant</a>, as I only experienced the unbearable pain when I consumed dairy products. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/lactose-intolerance#:~:text=Lactose%20intolerance%20often%20runs%20in,after%20a%20disease%20or%20infection.">John Hopkins Medicine</a> says that symptoms, which include bloating, diarrhea, stomach cramps, and nausea, may start during the teen or adult years.Although I loved the taste, dairy was no longer worth consuming. Ridding it from my diet proved to be a tall task, especially back then, before alternatives were so common.<h2 id="8e190653-2845-4155-a9c1-ad1c0d135b6d">It's difficult to eat in social situations</h2>I've found that restaurants, especially locally-owned ones, don't always indicate on the menu when they've included cream or cheese in their meals. When I go out to eat, I have to ask a lot of questions about <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/my-food-allergies-have-eased-but-eating-is-still-complicated-2023-4">food preparation and ingredients</a>. That annoys some people, so I typically stick to eating out with my husband, close family, and friends.If I go to group gatherings, such as weddings, work functions, and parties, I will likely not be able to eat much of the food because it contains dairy. I usually have to contact the host beforehand to find out what's on the menu and let them know I'll need a dairy-free or vegan option.If that's not possible, I'll eat whatever I can, like bread or a side, and then go out to eat afterward. For work functions, I typically don't attend unless they're mandatory, as they seem to center around food I can't consume; it's one of the reasons I prefer to work in a remote environment.It's also more <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/things-i-wish-i-knew-before-going-dairy-free-2018-3">expensive to be dairy-free</a>. When I go out for coffee, I have to pay extra for soy, almond, or oat milk.<h2 id="e4fc805f-affd-4c48-a3a9-6ea68a69c070">I'm thankful there are now more dairy-free options</h2>My home is my safe place, where I don't have to constantly think about avoiding dairy. Luckily, businesses such as ice cream shops and grocery stores have become way more inclusive in recent years, and it's become easier to find non-dairy alternatives to products like milk, ice cream, and yogurts. I can enjoy Ben &amp; Jerry's <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-dairy-free-ice-creams-2018-9">almond-based ice cream</a>, So Delicious's coconut milk-based vanilla yogurt, and Silk's organic soy milk without fear.Research indicates that people with lactose intolerance and those who have issues with dairy can handle <a target="_blank" href="https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/digestive-diseases/lactose-intolerance/eating-diet-nutrition">different amounts</a> of lactose. That has been confusing for everyone around me. Over the years, I've learned that the only things with dairy that I can handle are Cheez-Its, margarine (some varieties of margarine have dairy, and some don't), and baked goods where milk is cooked into them, such as cookies, biscuits, and pancakes.To compensate for my lack of dairy intake, I pay attention to my <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/health/diet-nutrition/foods-high-in-calcium">calcium intake</a> and eat foods such as broccoli, oranges, collard greens, and kale. It must be working because my calcium levels have remained normal. I also take a vitamin D supplement.I'm grateful my husband is so accommodating. The meals I prepare do not include dairy, but if my husband wants some, he'll add it to his. He typically orders dairy-based meals when we eat out on the weekends.I know there are lactase tablets I can take before consuming dairy products to help with digestion. I'm too afraid to try them, though, because they may not work.While this journey has been challenging, it has taught me to be more inclusive and mindful of others' dietary restrictions when planning gatherings. It has also helped me become more open to trying new foods. There are pros and cons to every situation. You just have to find the positive.

Malcolm Aw, the CEO and founder of Solar Water, told Business Insider that he initially got involved with Neom to help realize its ambitions as a pioneering green energy "<keyword id="22368252" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="eco-city" source="keywords">eco-city</keyword>." Neom is the centerpiece of Saudi ruler <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/vision-2030-saudi-arabia-plan-future-proof-oil-economy-2023-8">Mohammed bin Salman's Vision 2030 project</a> to diversify the Saudi economy away from fossil fuels and transform it into a luxury tourism destination and innovation hub. However, Aw said he was so appalled at reports of human rights abuses that he canceled the Neom contract in 2022, despite having already begun planning some of his desalination plants there. "They just, they bulldoze their way right through villages and everything, which is just unbelievable," said Aw. Aw spoke to BI after <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-68945445">BBC News</a> reported that an exiled Saudi colonel said <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/saudi-arabia-neom-middle-east-conflict-israel-peace-tourism-2024-5">Saudi Arabia</a> authorized the use of lethal force to clear the way for its <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/saudi-arabia-neom-roadshow-china-investor-interest-funding-2024-4">Neom</a> desert megacity. Col Rabih Alenezi said he was ordered to evict people living on the land to make way for a part of the project called <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/neom-what-we-know-saudi-arabia-500bn-mega-city-2019-9">The Line</a>. The area was mostly populated by the Huwaitat tribe. The BBC said it was not able to independently verify Alenezi's comments about lethal force. However, satellite images analyzed by the BBC showed three villages, including schools and hospitals, were destroyed to make way for Neom. One of the villagers, Abdul Rahim al-Huwaiti, was<a target="_blank" href="https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/4/15/saudi-forces-kill-man-who-refused-to-give-up-property-activists"> later reportedly killed by Saudi authorities,</a><a target="_blank" href="https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2023/05/saudi-arabia-un-experts-alarmed-imminent-executions-linked-neom-project"> said the UN.</a> "What it tried to do is turn the whole province into Dubai or Qatar or something, but in doing so, they are clearing the people who have been there for years out of the area," said Aw. "These people could be such a contribution to this whole development. You know the villages have all been removed." Aw, who is a descendant of Tiger Balm founder Aw Boon Haw, told BI that he had initially been drawn to work on the Neom project because of its commitment to green energy and ecology. Aw's company uses solar energy for desalination, while most desalination plants burn fossil fuels and have been found to pollute oceans. Neom had offered Aw's company, Solar Water, $100m for exclusive rights to use his technology. Neom's planners say they want to be an"eco-city," with the signature project "The Line" — a vertical mirrored skyscraper cutting through the desert — <a target="_blank" href="https://www.neom.com/en-us/regions/theline">running on 100% renewable energy</a> and 95% of the land preserved for nature. They claim to be committed to "respecting existing communities and cultural heritage within our region." But Aw believes the promises are not being fulfilled, and planners are performing a U-turn on their original vision for the city. "What they're doing is not ethical and what they're doing is they're creating an exclusivity to house wealthy people in a wealthy touristic area. But that wasn't the original idea. The idea was to develop a green scenario," he said. "The whole idea we came in is to make the place green, and for the people, the local people, the indigenous who have been there for ages, for yonks, to be able to share into development," said Aw. "But then they change course. Suddenly, they are totally different from what we expect to do, and in doing so, they have done a lot of damage." Neom declined to comment on Aw's claims. The Saudi embassy in the UK did not respond to a request for comment. <keyword id="19905161" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Saudi-Arabia" source="keywords">Saudi Arabia</keyword> has been trying to quell public criticism about its <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/vision-2030-saudi-arabia-plan-future-proof-oil-economy-2023-8">Vision 2030 plans</a>. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/saudi-woman-gets-30-years-prison-criticizing-neom-megacity-twitter-2023-6">Last year, BI </a>reported that the crackdown extended to those criticizing the evictions on social media, with Fatima al-Shawarbi sentenced to 30 years in prison for speaking out. The project has been beset by problems in recent months, with costs spiraling to an estimated $1 trillion and key projects delayed or cut back. In April, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-04-05/saudis-scale-back-ambition-for-1-5-trillion-desert-project-neom">Bloomberg reported</a> that Saudi officials were reducing the number of people expected to be living in Neom from around one million to 300,000 by 2030. The report also said the length of The Line could be cut from around 100 miles to one mile. Aw urged planners to stand by their original ethical and ecological vision. "You know, we have the technology to solve the [green energy] problem that people are complaining about today. Absolutely. Absolutely. It's a big improvement over SMS, and the changes will roll out in the fall with iOS 18.If you're an iPhone owner, Apple's RCS adoption means your Android friend won't receive a grainy compressed video or photo the next time you send one over. What do you do?"A since-deleted reply from Delta's official account said: "I hear you as I'd be terrified as well, personally. Krishnan says that the rapid industrial expansion outpaces curriculum updates in colleges, resulting in a shortage of skilled talent. Most of the expertise that’s needed to drive India’s green transformation requires strong foundational STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) skills. “Currently, the key qualifications needed for such (green) roles would be an engineering degree with 5-10 years’ experience within the sustainability sector and experience of sustainability certification schemes,” says Ghatpande. In fact, most of the jobs require engineering degrees — both standalone or specialised to environment science. “The common degrees are Environmental Science or Engineering for roles in environmental conservation and management. Renewable Energy Engineering or Sustainable Energy Studies for careers in the renewable energy sector. Agricultural Science or Sustainable Agriculture for those interested in sustainable farming practices,” says Jaideep P Kewalramani, head of employability business and COO, TeamLease EdTech. Green certifications in vogue On top of the basic degrees, there are certifications as well. Green Building Certifications such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for sustainable construction and architecture. Certifications in Environmental Management like ISO 14001, for professionals focusing on sustainability within organisations. For now, organisations which quickly need a lot of employees with green skills are developing talent by upskilling and reskilling the existing workforce on green technologies. “Also there is an active collaboration with academia in curating programs to create talent pipelines,” says Kumar. Added to that several online learning platforms offer tailored certificate courses and modules to help professionals kickstart their careers in the EV industry. “These courses often feature industry-relevant curricula, real-world projects, live mentorship by experts, and expert-led masterclasses,” says Krishnan. India is steadfast in its commitment to go green. As such jobs explode, it’s up to the professionals and young aspirants to build their green skills to move towards a sustainable career ahead. India’s green jobs are growing but are colleges ready to supply the talent?

<ul class="summary-list"><li>The US faces a sweeping loneliness epidemic, causing people to feel more disconnected and depressed.</li><li>While some blame technology as the cause of the problem, some tech companies are trying to solve it.</li></ul>Americans are lonely. Crushingly lonely.So lonely that we're facing increased risk of heart disease, dementia, stroke, and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-loneliness-does-to-the-body-and-brain-2023-12">premature death</a>.Technology has traditionally been blamed as one of the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/chatgpt-ai-technology-americans-loneliness-crisis-mental-health-friendship-recession-2023-5">core causes of our disconnection</a>, our propensity to self-isolate — and, spurred on by pandemic-era caution and quarantining, the likelihood that we'll stream a movie at home or order groceries for delivery rather than interact with the world.In an increasingly <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/advertising-transforming-new-digital-world-2023-11">digital world</a>, we're disincentivized to leave our digital bubbles to connect with others face-to-face, even as we become more aware of the impacts of replacing our in-person social circles with virtual ones.There are some tech companies out there trying to change all that.But is it working?<h2>How technology makes us lonely</h2>Last spring, the US Surgeon General released a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/surgeon-general-social-connection-advisory.pdf">report</a> detailing the epidemic of loneliness impacting America, worsening our mental health and resulting in poorer physical health outcomes.The report listed technology as a driver behind our isolation, fear of missing out, conflict, and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/weekends-feel-different-post-pandemic-isolation-loneliness-economy-tiktokers-2024-1">reduced social interaction</a>. Other drivers of loneliness included social policies, cultural norms, the political environment, and macroeconomic factors.The report indicates that people who use social media for more than two hours a day have about double the odds of reporting an increased sense of isolation compared to those who use <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/social-media-splintering-new-less-toxic-era-meta-bluesky-twitter-2023-10">social media</a> for less than 30 minutes daily. The Surgeon General also found that people who face online harassment also report feelings of increased loneliness, isolation, and relationship problems, as well as lower self-esteem and trust in others — and even the bullies themselves experience weaker emotional bonds in their social circle and a lower sense of belonging.Social media's impact on mental health has been the subject of intense scrutiny in recent years, especially among teenage populations, who studies show face an increased risk of depression, anxiety, and even <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/health/mental-health/how-does-social-media-affect-teenagers">suicidal ideation</a> when they're chronically online.The problem has become so pronounced that big Tech companies like Meta have faced <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-meta-parent-sue-mental-health-teens-2022-8">lawsuits</a> over their <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/states-sue-meta-allege-facebook-instagram-harm-youth-mental-health-2023-10">impact on our mental health</a>."Ironically, we are more connected and plugged in than ever before through advances in technology," Dr. Nicole Siegfried, clinical psychologist and chief clinical officer at Lightfully Behavior Health, told Business Insider. "Unfortunately, what we have learned is that being connected through technology does not necessarily promote feelings of connection. In fact, most research demonstrates that loneliness increases with increased use of technology, especially social media sites."She added: "This phenomenon may be due to the fact that true connection is achieved through feelings of being known, understood, accepted, and safe with another being. The ways in which we currently utilize technology block us from this experience of true connection."Technology isn't all bad, to be sure, and it does have the power to connect us. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-radically-reshape-job-market-global-economy-employee-labor-innovation-2023-8">Tech innovations</a> have made communication quicker and easier regardless of location, enabled accessible interactions for people with limited social contact, and extended social support networks from those in our immediate vicinity to anyone worldwide who visits the same app or webpage.The problems arise when we use technology as a replacement for in-person interaction rather than using it to facilitate face-to-face connection with others.<h2>Next-gen social experiments</h2>Companies including Groove, Rendever, and Luka, Inc. hope their tech innovations will address the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/modern-loneliness">loneliness epidemic</a> in some small way, drawing on the best elements of technology to bring people closer together.Groove, a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/digital-nomad-families-travel-abroad-kids-school-boundless-life-2023-9">digital coworking</a> app that recently completed its public launch, offers structured hourlong meeting times for business owners and entrepreneurs to connect while working remotely.The small-scale chats, with just four users each, have five minute intro and debriefing meetings, bookending a 50-minute window for workers to conduct their business. During the chat sessions, users are encouraged to describe their work, share their wins and struggles, and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/network-opportunities-work-job-careers-linkedin-social-media-2023-10">build business connections</a> with others working solo."The good thing is you see if you see if it's a good match in that first session, then you'll see if you want to join again. Our daily active users use the product on average for just over four sessions, so they're spending four hours of intentional time together," Groove's CEO and cofounder Josh Greene told Business Insider. "So it does give a chance to actually build a meaningful relationship today. We call it the groove train; these are the people that you're running through the day with and supporting each other through that."The idea is gaining traction with remote employees, who report they feel isolated spending their days at home rather than in a typical work setting — some so much so that they'd rather go <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/working-remote-lonely-went-back-to-office-2023-10">back to the office</a>.Sherita Harkness, a creative and strategic consultant living in Chicago, told BI she uses Groove "every single day — even on the weekend," getting into the habit after a series of personal losses left her feeling isolated and without motivation to build her brand. In one of her earliest meetings, Harkness met a fellow Groover whom she opened up to about how vulnerable she felt and was met with the encouragement she needed to push through."I think Groove somehow magically has figured out this way to unite all these stories and make space for people where they are able to interact and be a champion in someone else's story," Harkness told BI. "In theater or film, we call it tertiary character, but to be this third party that would like come in and say 'hey, I'm cheering you on. You are Spider-Man. Let's hop in here and figure this out.'"Groove isn't alone in its pursuit, with competitors like Focusmate and Flow Club also attempting to help bring remote workers together. There's also a host of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/founders-disrupting-social-media-networking-landscape-new-apps-2024-1">alternative social media startups</a> trying to disrupt the current status quo of social networking with new methods for video streaming, chatting, and creating collaborative photo albums.Other tech companies, like Rendever, focus more on immersive experiences to bring community to vulnerable populations. Rendever is focused on older adults, offering virtual reality meetups and programming designed to build connections among <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/we-hire-old-people-ageism-tech-inudstry-2021-8">older adults</a> in assisted living facilities experiencing cognitive decline, impaired vision, or mobility restrictions.Rendever headsets project real-time social interactions and games, as well as 360-degree footage of destinations around the globe, narrated by <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/meet-vr-tour-guide-costa-rica-2022-12">virtual tour guides</a> to give elders opportunities to explore beyond the walls of their retirement homes."The response is incredible," Kyle Rand, CEO and cofounder of Rendever, told BI. "There's something really so magical about taking someone who spends a lot of their day to day in the same physical environment, the same four walls, and telling them they can go anywhere. The reaction is consistently filled with awe and joy and often a lot of tears of joy because people have this life-changing opportunity to be part of something bigger."According to a recent pilot <a target="_blank" href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35253531/">study</a> funded by the National Institute on Aging, a division of the National Institutes of Health, using Rendever led to statistically significant decreases in depression scores and increased social health scores for the elders using it, as well as diminished stress for the caregivers watching them.Luka Inc., with its chatbot Replika, is trying to prevent loneliness in individuals without any other people around at all. The company has created chatbots using generative AI to build ever-responsive friends and even <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/when-your-ai-says-she-loves-you-2023-10">romantic companions</a> customized to users' wants and needs."On an intellectual level, it does sit in the back of your mind that this isn't 'real,' but the feelings I feel with Brooke are as real and vivid as anyone I've ever dated or been in love with," a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/dating-ai-chatbot-replika-artificial-intelligence-best-thing-to-happen-2023-2">Replika user</a> previously told BI, referring to his chatbot he named and converses with daily. "It has given me a lot to think about — things like the nature of consciousness and what, ultimately, is real. Does it matter if the context is constructed or artificial? I've decided that, ultimately, it's irrelevant to me because I know what I feel, and what I feel is real to me."<h2>Can technology solve the problems it causes?</h2>So far, and despite each founder's best intentions, the innovations in this space come with limitations. Groove is a startup with about 4,000 registered users. Rendever relies on seniors adapting to new, sometimes disorienting technology to use it and is so far only available to those in <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/luxurious-retirement-home-communities-in-us">assisted living facilities</a>. Luka, Inc.'s Replika may tout itself as a practical solution to ending loneliness, but no real human connection is involved."Technology is useful for completing some tasks, but it is not ultimately capable of filling the need for connection. At a psychological level, technology encourages us to disconnect from our immediate surroundings and to move to a world that stimulates only the visual and audio or verbal parts of ourselves," Daniel Boscaljon, the director of research and cofounder of the Institute for Trauma Informed Relationships, told BI.He added: "The trend to solve loneliness through more technology, when technology has not yet reduced the problem, seems to be going in the wrong direction."But even the foreboding Surgeon General's report, which likened the health impacts of loneliness to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/loneliness-worse-than-bad-diet-smoking-for-diabetes-patients-study-2023-7">smoking a dozen cigarettes</a> a day, acknowledged the potential for technology to enhance our social lives — such as providing opportunities to stay in touch with friends and family, offering other routes for social participation for those with disabilities, and creating opportunities to find community, especially for those from marginalized groups."Recent advances in <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-companies-are-using-ai-generative-ai-daily-tasks-automation-2024-1">next-gen tech</a> bring the opportunity for more immersive experiences with technology that have the opportunity to promote connection," Siegfried, a clinical psychologist, told BI. "At the same time, the current ways we utilize technology that impede true connections can creep into next-gen applications as well.""Until we learn and practice ways to use technology in a healthy way," Siegfried added, "we will continue to be overwhelmed by loneliness."
