Investing in the stock market is the go-to answer for many who want great returns on their hard-earned money. However, not everyone is a stock market expert and people tend to look for guidance at times. And while there are many good financial advisors out there, some are fraudsters looking for a way to rob people. Thus, in times when online scams in India are on the rise, one should be cautious of who they trust with their money. Simply believing strangers on the internet could mean huge losses at times and this is exactly what happened with a Noida-based woman who wanted to make some extra money by investing in the share market via an app. <h2>Woman loses over Rs 69 lakh in <keyword id="7292336" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="stock-market-scam" source="Orion">stock market scam</keyword></h2>According to a report in HT, a 32-year-old woman from <keyword id="20142852" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="greater-noida-west" source="keywords">Greater Noida West</keyword> was defrauded of more than Rs 69 lakh by scammers posing as stock market investment advisors. This incident, which unfolded over the course of several weeks, underscores the need for heightened vigilance and cybersecurity awareness in an increasingly interconnected society. Stuti, the victim, resides with her family in Amaatra Homes, Sector 10. Her ordeal began in June when she was added to an unknown WhatsApp group that offered training on earning profits in the stock market. The group, which appeared to be legitimate, provided her with initial training sessions that built trust and credibility. The scammers, masquerading as financial experts, promised Stuti a staggering 300 percent return on investments made through a specially designed mobile application. <h2>Scammers promised high returns</h2>Encouraged by the initial promise of high returns, Stuti downloaded the fraudulent application and made her first investment of Rs 1 lakh. To her astonishment, the app showed a profit of Rs 50,000 the very next day, further enticing her to invest more. The scammers then added her and her husband to another private WhatsApp group, where they were presented with a new profit plan requiring an investment of Rs 30 lakh. Trusting the system, they invested Rs 20 lakh. On July 16, the fraudsters introduced a new scheme involving an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and the allotment of one lakh shares. They asked the couple to invest an additional Rs 1.19 crore, promising a profit of Rs 50 lakh from their recent investments. The couple, now heavily invested both financially and emotionally, were then informed that they needed to pay an additional Rs 48 lakh to secure their profits. When Stuti and her husband expressed their inability to invest further and requested to withdraw their profits, the scammers cited convoluted terms and conditions to refuse their request. Desperate to recoup their investments, the couple broke their fixed deposits, liquidated mutual funds, and borrowed money from friends and family, eventually sending a total of Rs 69.53 lakh to the fraudsters through multiple transactions. It wasn't until the couple was asked to pay an additional Rs 21 lakh in taxes and other charges that they realised they had been duped. The scammers, who had promised them a profit of Rs 4 crore, vanished, leaving the couple in financial ruin. On August 2, an FIR was registered under sections 318 (cheating and dishonesty) and 319 (cheating by personation) of the BNS, along with relevant sections of the IT Act, at the cybercrime police station. The police have launched an investigation.

Noida woman invests in stock market via an app, loses over Rs 69 lakh as it turns out to be a scam

New Delhi [India], May 23 (ANI): Once notorious for oversupply and all-round market disarray, Delhi-NCR's real estate sector is witnessing a reversal of winds as the unsold inventory in the region has declined by a massive 57 per cent in the last five years, the latest report by real estate consultant Anarock Group observed. The report added the unsold real stock in the national capital region declined from approx. 2 lakh units at Q1 2018-end to approx. 86,420 units by Q1 2024-end. In the same period, the main southern cities saw their unsold stock decline from approx. 1.96 lakh units in Q1 2018 to over 1.76 lakh units in Q1 2024. Gurgaon holds the highest stock with approximately 33,326 units, marking a 37 per cent decrease. Greater Noida follows with about 18,668 units, having reduced its stock by 70 per cent. Ghaziabad's inventory declined dramatically by 70 per cent to around 11,011 units. Noida saw a 71 per cent decrease, with approximately 7,451 unsold units remaining. Combined, Delhi, Faridabad, and Bhiwadi have about 15,964 unsold units, a 31 per cent reduction since 2018, as per the report. It further observes the top Southern markets Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai saw their collective unsold stock shrink by 11 per cent in this period. MMR and Pune in the West saw their cumulative unsold stock reduced by 8 per cent. In the East, Kolkata saw its unsold inventory decline by an impressive 41 per cent in the period. Citing the reason behind the low decline of unsold inventory, the real estate consultant added that there have been massive new property launches in Hyderabad, most notably over the last two years. The city saw its housing stock almost quadrupled in the last 5 years. Bengaluru saw unsold inventory decline by 50 per cent in this period. In the West, MMR and Pune saw unsold stock decline by 8 per cent in the last five years - from approx. 3.13 lakh units in Q1 2018 to approx. 2.90 lakh units in Q1 2024, the report added.

Unsold real estate properties decline in Delhi-NCR by 57%; Rate slower in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai

While there are nearly 5.68 lakh houses under various stages of construction in Delhi-NCR, any kind of periodic ban on construction by different agencies can only delay the projects, adding to the woes of the buyers. The maximum number of under-construction units is in <keyword id="18858" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="noida" source="Orion">Noida</keyword> and Greater Noida areas, accounting for nearly 2.70 lakh units, as per an estimate. On average, a one-month ban on all construction activity delays a project by at least 3-4 months, according to research by <keyword id="4695749" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="anarock" source="Orion">Anarock</keyword> consultants. As per the research, the areas in Delhi-NCR with the maximum under construction units presently include Greater Noida West, Yamuna Expressway, New Gurugram, Noida Expressway, Dwarka Expressway, Central Noida, Sector 150 (Noida), <keyword id="1464478" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="greater-faridabad" source="Orion">Greater Faridabad</keyword>, <keyword id="15299315" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="raj-nagar-ext" source="Orion">Raj Nagar Ext</keyword> (Ghaziabad), Sohna and Golf Course Ext Road. These areas together have more than 4 lakh units that are currently under various stages of construction. Greater Noida West alone has more than 1.37 lakh under-construction units currently. The air quality in Delhi-<keyword id="53426" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="ncr" source="Orion">NCR</keyword> has turned poor and heavy smog has started engulfing the region. This year too, to battle pollution, an action plan has been rolled out in advance, mandating that if the pollution levels breach certain levels (i.e., Stage III or 'severe'), authorities will have to enforce a ban on construction and demolition activities in NCR, except on essential projects (like railways, metros, airports, ISBTs, national security/defence-related projects of national importance). Apart from this, the construction of projects also gets hampered due to protests on the issue of land compensation. The Anarock research said that being periodic, the impact of these construction bans on overall property prices is almost negligible. Moreover, real estate prices in most cities are not so much a function of environmental concerns as of accessibility, proximity to the city centres or major employment hubs, urban mobility via various modes of public transport, and affordability. In Mumbai too, the city perennially experiences floods during monsoon, yet property prices remain steady. In fact, in the last two-and-a-half years since the pandemic, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has been the most active in terms of both new supply and new launches. As for Delhi-NCR, the region too has been very active. While developers restricted new supply, housing sales have been significant. In fact, the region has shed at least 23 per cent of its unsold stock in the last 2.5 years since the pandemic. Back in Q1 2020-end, the overall unsold stock in Delhi-NCR stood at 1.73 lakh units which have reduced to a little over 1.32 lakh units as of Q3 2022-end, said the Anarock research. In his books, deities get angry, make human mistakes and even poke fun at each other. Director Shekhar Kapur, who is making a web series on Tripathi’s <keyword id="810431" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shiva-Trilogy" source="Orion">Shiva trilogy</keyword>, called him ‘India’s literary popstar’. Tripathi’s first trilogy on deity Shiva became the fastest-selling book series in Indian publishing history. His most recent book ‘War of Lanka’ has already sold six and a half million copies and is currently under reprint. What makes his books popular is not just the content but also his marketing hooks. He roped in marketing agency Think WhyNot to launch an augmented reality filter on Instagram for the ‘War of Lanka’. Custom merchandise or making the first music album in Indian publishing history for ‘The Oath of the Vayuputras’ – the third book in his Shiva Trilogy – are some other marketing examples. The author of seven books encapsulating the stories of Ram, Raavan, Sita and Shiva, Tripathi talks to Business Insider India about topics ranging from the importance of myths to the impact of the pandemic on the publishing industry. Currently serving as a cultural diplomat as head of the Nehru Center in London, Tripathi also shares his take on the real India. <keyword id="14491960" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="UK-Prime-Minister-Rishi-Sunak" source="Orion">UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak</keyword> invited you to 10 Downing Street, how was the experience? Oh, it was very nice. It was a small get-together in 10 Downing Street, a celebration of Diwali. He had got people from the local Swami Chinmaya Mission to read a prayer. We did a proper lighting of the lamp with traditional rituals. It was also very nice to see so many native White British and other communities in attendance, celebrating a Hindu/Jain/Sikh festival with warmth and happiness. It's been almost a month since War of Lanka has been released. How has the response been? I will be honest. Prior to the launch of the book, I was a little nervous, quite nervous, actually, for various reasons. One, it was a completely new publisher and a new relationship. Secondly, Harper just had a few months post the contract signing to get the book out in the market. To bring the book out in just three-four months is difficult… I thought they did a very good job. Third was the pandemic, which had hit the publishing industry badly, and many bookstores and publishing houses had shut down. Since the distribution itself was shrinking, sales would be difficult. Lastly, since I also have a diplomatic job in the UK, I did not have that much time for the book tour. Normally, my book tour would spread out over three-four months, but now I only had three-four weeks; and I had to cover 14 cities across India in that time. But despite these constraints, War of Lanka is breaking records. It is selling even faster than Raavan: Enemy of Aryavarta. And all my previous book sales have also shot up. I can’t thank my readers enough for their consistent love and support. I am curious to know why you haven't written about Hanuman, a Shiva incarnation, especially after having dedicated separate books to Ram, Ravan and Sita? I might take that up actually. Lord Hanuman is a very fascinating character and represents loyalty, having a code and staying true to it, no matter what. That's what makes him worth respecting and worshiping. There is a separate spin-off story in mind that I have for Lord Hanuman. And one I hope to take up after some time. There will also be a story on Guru Vashishta and Guru Vishwamitra and how their relationship turned from friendship to enmity. People say youngsters don’t read as different forms of medium are competing for attention. Why do you think your book has struck a chord with the readers? Is it because of your standout marketing techniques as with a metaverse launch of the book? The metaverse campaign was very innovative, yes. And I am very grateful to Sangram Surve and his Think WhyNot agency for putting this together in association with Meta. Also, I think this assumption that the youth don't read is, frankly, a judgmental approach. The idea that today’s youth have low IQ, low attention spans, and only want to entertain themselves with flaky things is just plain silly. One person can have different tastes. I like thought-provoking movies like Schindler’s List or Inception, but I also like the suspension-of-brains movies of Salman Khan. The youth are like that as well. By the way, a vast majority of my readers are young. Second when it comes to marketing, social media has made word of mouth very powerful. The opinion of critics matters little now as compared to a decade ago. There are movies that are very well marketed that have been super flops. And a movie that had almost minimal marketing spends, like Kantara, was a massive hit. At the heart of it all, it has to be a good product, be it a movie or a book. If it's not a good product, no matter how much marketing you do, it's not going to work. If there is no depth in the movie or the book, if there's nothing to talk about, then word-of-mouth will be poor. A cult book has to be thought-provoking and initiate conversations. I myself tried the AR filters on Instagram and I came out to be on Raavan’s army. It would interest you to know that while many modern Indians think Raavan is Tamilian or Lankan, this may not necessarily match up to ancient texts. When you study ancient texts or folk traditions, it is revealed Raavan was born close to Delhi, a little ahead of Noida. One of the oldest temples of Raavan is situated there. He was not the original ruler of Lanka. The original ruler was Kubaer. Raavan deposed Kubaer and took over Lanka. Will you be venturing into writing about any other epic like Mahabharat? I do have various ideas. Let's see where life takes me. There is a fifth book that will join the Shiva Trilogy and the Ramachandra series called the <keyword id="15501176" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rise-of-Meluha" source="Orion">Rise of Meluha</keyword>. But that will be released many years later. Is there a reason why Sita was portrayed as aggressive and militant in your book Sita-Warrior of Mithila? Was this because it has been written from a male perspective? There is a difference between being militant and being strong. Goddess Durga is not militant but she is strong. The image of Goddess Sita in the minds of modern urban Indians is largely inspired from a 1980s television series. In the original Valmiki Ramayana, Sita is portrayed in a much stronger form. And in the Adbhut Ramayan, also credited to Valmiki ji, Sita Maa is the one who kills the elder, more powerful Raavan. In ancient times, Indian women were seen as powerful with their own agency. We had women who ruled large empires like Rani Prabhavatigupta and Rani Rudramadevi. We had women Rishis (roughly the equivalent of Abrahamic prophets and messiahs). We even had women who founded universities. Frankly, our ancestors would be disappointed at how badly we, in modern India, treat women. We have been hearing about the Shiva trilogy for quite some time now. Is it expected soon? These are early days as we just started work on it. So let's see how it comes out. But we'll make announcements in the future. Coming to Indian cinema, there has been a shift in the portrayal of stories. Films are being inspired by myths like in Adipurush, Thank God, Ram Sethu, Ponniyan Selvan. Why do you think there is such a shift? Post 1991 India has become wealthier and the emergence of the real India is inspiring the demand for such stories. There is a real India that was always there, just that they didn't have money to form a big market. That is the India outside of the elite areas of our big cities. This is an India that is very deeply rooted in our ancient traditions and culture. And now, there are many citizens from the real India who have now risen because of economic growth over the last 30 years. A recent IMF report had said over 450 million Indians have been pulled out of poverty just in the last 10 years. And economic growth is creating a new consumer class. Smaller budget movies are making more money than big Hindi film movies because I think in many ways, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil movies are more rooted in the real India. This is something perhaps the Hindi film industry will pick up overtime. A Hindi film producer told me an interesting analysis. He felt that perhaps the Hindi film industry had become too elitist – he used the term ‘focused on Pali Hill, and South Mumbai and also perhaps, London &amp; New York’. He said that we should forget that there is a real India outside of Pali Hill and South Mumbai. And that is the main market for Indian movies. What does real India mean to you? Perhaps those who are more comfortable in Mangalore or Varanasi than in London, I think that's the real India. So, someone like you or me… My family’s roots are in Kashi and I was born in Mumbai; so I know English, Hindi, and some Marathi. But I can go to a Lord Shiva temple in Thrissur, Kerala. And I’ve been there actually, four-five years ago. I don’t understand Malayalam, but my books, by God's grace, do well in Malayalam. There were many out there who recognized me because many of them had read my books. But we couldn’t communicate well with each other because most of them there didn’t know English or Hindi, and I didn’t know Malayalam. And yet, when we started chanting and praying to Lord Shiva, we felt connected. I felt at home. That to me is the real India. Where we feel at home. Now, we may also get along with Western people, but essentially, where is home for us? For me, the real India is home. You began your journey as a writer in 2010. How has the scene of Indian publishing and marketing changed since then? This is the best and worst of times. Earlier the definition of bestseller was selling 5,000 to 10,000 books. Today a bestseller should sell at least 40,000 to 50,000 copies. There are some authors whose books sell in the hundreds of thousands. And few, such as Chetan and me, who are lucky enough for our books to sell in the millions. But on the negative side, GST has really hit the industry. I have myself appealed often to the government if they could give some relief on this, because we are a very tiny industry. Books have a positive impact culturally but in terms of revenue, we are very small. Second, piracy is hurting us a great deal. Many bookstores are suffering hard times as well because rental costs have shot up and piracy has hit them. Books in terms of price to space ratio are not as high as compared to jewelry or mobile phones, so high rental costs often make bookstore unviable. How do you think mythology is relevant in today's society? Indians often confuse myth with mithya or untruth. The Indian word for it would be Itihas or Kavya or Purana. The English word myth comes from the Greek word mythos, which means a story hiding a philosophical truth. I try to explore philosophies that I think are worth learning. Rather than making it a pedantic nonfiction philosophy textbook, if you try and bring it across through a story, you might have a greater chance of having an impact. There are various philosophies from our ancients that are worth learning. There is a line which I love, Ati Sarvatra Varjayet i.e. extremism of any kind should be avoided. But if you see the western approach, it is almost like extremism should be followed, always. For example, in the West, fighting for women’s rights gets translated into hatred for men. How's that good for society? I try to explore many of these philosophies through my books. What are the choices that we make? You will find that cultures which celebrate myths tend to be much more wise and liberal, intuitively liberal. You have celebrated devotees of both Vishnu and Shiva in your books. How do you strike a balance between the two? This so-called competition between Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu is relatively modern. The Indian way is we are comfortable with multiple truths and we realise that the source is unity. One of the thousand names of Lord Vishnu listed in Vishnu Shahasranaam, which is chanted by many Vaishnavas (devotees of Lord Vishnu) regularly, is Shiva. On the other hand, many Shaivites (devotees of Lord Shiva) know the 1008 names of Lord Shiva that are listed in many of the found in the Shaivite puranas. And one of the names listed for Lord Shiva is Vishnu. So they are One and the Same. This competition is more between unwise devotees and should be avoided.

This will be used by the <keyword id="87432" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="National-Highways-Authority-of-India">National Highways Authority of India</keyword> (<keyword id="49448" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="nhai">NHAI</keyword>) for the planned series of <keyword id="174913" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="BOT">BOT</keyword> (build, operate and transfer) highways. In spite of several bottlenecks, the NHAI has set up impressive targets and aims to develop 20 km/day, in a bid to fast-track the country’s <keyword id="2034194" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Road-network-expansion">road network expansion</keyword>. 
 As of July 2013, <keyword id="6373156" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="National-Highways">national highways</keyword> account for 79,116 km, connecting all major cities and state capitals. Expressways, however, differ a bit in the sense they are controlled-access highways like the <keyword id="610047" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="freeways">freeways</keyword> or <keyword id="1333990" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="motorways">motorways</keyword> or autobahnen in the US and Europe, essentially designed for high-speed traffic. As of now, most of the expressways in India are 6-8 lane <keyword id="120837" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="toll-roads">toll roads</keyword> and cover a total distance of nearly 1,208.19 km. India expects to add another 3,530 km of expressways by 2014 as projects under construction get completed. Another massive programme is also under way to expand the network and the Indian government plans to add an additional 18,637 km of expressways by 2022.

India’s tech hubs see property prices zoom by around 30%

New Delhi, <keyword id="1390483" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Housing-sales" source="Orion">Housing sales</keyword> rose 8 per cent annually during the April-June period to 80,250 units across eight major cities, mainly on increased demand in Mumbai and Pune, according to PropTiger. Sales stood at 74,320 units in the year-ago period across primary (fresh sales) residential markets of the top eight cities. The housing brokerage firm on Wednesday released its Real Insight Residential - April-June 2023 report, stating that housing sales rose in three cities Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad but declined in other five major cities -- Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. "India's top eight residential markets continue on a growth path. The RBI's decision to pause the hike in the key lending rate helped in sustaining strong positive sentiments for buying residential properties," Vikas Wadhawan, group CFO of REA India, said. PropTiger, Housing.com and Makaan.com platforms are owned by REA India, which is part of Australian firm REA, and News Corp. "The driving factors behind the uptick in housing sales over the last two years are pent-up demand from the COVID-affected period, growing appetite for home ownership, revival in the economy post-pandemic, and the evolving need for more spacious homes," he said. As per the data, housing sales in Ahmedabad increased 17 per cent to 8,450 units during the April-June period to 7,240 units in the year-ago period. Bengaluru saw a 19 per cent decline in sales to 6,790 units from 8,350 units while Chennai witnessed a 5 per cent fall to 3,050 units from 3,210 units. Housing sales in Delhi NCR fell 28 per cent to 3,230 units from 4,510 units. Hyderabad too witnessed a 3 per cent drop in demand to 7,680 units from 7,910 units. Housing sales in Kolkata decreased 40 per cent to 1,940 units from 3,220 units. Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) saw a 16 per cent increase in sales to 30,260 units during April-June period from 26,160 units in the year-ago period. In Pune, sales increased 37 per cent during April-June to 18,850 units from 13,720 units in the corresponding period of the previous year. Delhi-NCR market includes Gurugram, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad while MMR includes Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. REA India Head of Research Ankita Sood noted that MMR and Pune contributed 61 per cent to total housing sales across 8 cities. Demand in localities such as Thane West and Dombivali in Mumbai and Charholi Budruk and Hadapsar in Pune have been high, she said. In terms of new housing supply, PropTiger reported that launches increased 11 per cent to 1,13,770 units during the April-June from 1,02,140 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Called Yotta D1, it was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh <keyword id="43254" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="yogi-adityanath" source="Orion">Yogi Adityanath</keyword> and Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics &amp; IT. The data center has been set up with an investment of around ₹1,500 crore. Once fully functional, Yotta D1 building will see an additional investment of ₹5,000 crore in IT equipment, the company said in a press release. "When the data revolution began in India, Mumbai and Chennai were prime data storage centers. This is about to change with data centers now coming up in the Delhi NCR region as well. When you have a data center next to you, a lot of companies will be able to give lightning fast processing for data to local people, in turn boosting productivity," said Darshan Hiranandani, co-founder and chairman of Yotta Infrastructure. Yotta D1 is strategically located near the key business hubs of NCR, the company said. The company also entered into an MoU with the UP government to invest ₹39,000 crore in a phased manner over 5-7 years. The investment will go towards constructing the data center campus and procuring IT equipment and other hardware for Yotta customers. The Yotta Greater Noida Data Center Park will offer a total capacity of 30,000 racks, four dedicated fiber paths and an IT power capacity of 160 MW. In addition, the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the next two data center buildings – Yotta D2 &amp; D3, was also performed on Monday. Data centers go ‘local’ Sunil <keyword id="6356160" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="gupta" source="Orion">Gupta</keyword>, co-founder and CEO Yotta Infrastructure, said that India will need to build its data storage capacity at a pace which is 15 times more than the mature global data centers of the world. India has over 700 million active internet users, and has clocked in 9.3 billion UPI transactions in one quarter alone. "If someone in Delhi wants to watch a high-definition movie, they should not wait for data to come from the Mumbai data center," said Gupta, who is also known as India's Data Man. The 5,000 data racks in Yotta D1 building has the capacity for storing at least 60 lakh high-definition movies, the company said. "These data centers will have multiple-use cases. Customers from edtech, healthtech companies, SMEs, public sector units, state government initiatives like AYUSH, Aadhar, storage of passport data can tap into this resource," added Gupta. Launched three years ago, Yotta Infrastructure has built data centers in Powai and will be tapping into Thane and Panvel in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Gujarat and West Bengal in the coming years. It also aims to go international and is in talks with the government of Bangladesh, the company said. Hiranandani Group unveils North India’s first hyperscale data center in boost to region’s digital economy

<keyword id="48503" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="alstom" source="Orion">Alstom</keyword>, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has been awarded the contract to design, manufacture, supply, test, and commission 312 standard gauge metro cars for <keyword id="6366797" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="delhi-metro" source="Orion">Delhi Metro</keyword> Phase IV expansion by the <keyword id="66" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="delhi" source="Orion">Delhi</keyword> Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The order worth EUR312 million (Rs 2,643 crore approx.) includes the design and manufacturing of 234 standard gauge metro cars for Line 7 extension, which is 12.558 km of Pink line on the Mukundpur- Maujpur corridor and, the Line 8 extension, which is 28.92 km of Magenta line for the Janakpuri West - RK Ashram corridor, according to a statement from Alstom. Alstom will also design and manufacture of 78 standard gauge metro cars for the 23.622 km Silver line between Aerocity and Tughlakabad, including 15-year maintenance of these 78 cars. The statement said that Alstom would supply its Metropolis trainsets for this order. Metropolis trains offer a unique design, a wide range of configurations and ensure the highest performance due to the perfect combination of proven and reliable components and innovations, the company said. With its extensive track record, low lifecycle costs, and keen focus on passenger experience, Alstom said its Metropolis metros set the standard around the world. Talking about the new contract, Olivier Loison, Managing Director, Alstom India Cluster, said that "Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) is amongst the largest urban clusters in the world. Faced with the realities of climate change, such megacities need reliable and sustainable public transport solutions. Alstom is pleased to continue the partnership with Delhi Metro, one of Asia's largest rapid transit systems. Alstom said it had delivered more than 800 metro cars that are in service for the Delhi Metro network. The new trains will be built at Alstom's largest urban rolling stock manufacturing site in Sricity (<keyword id="37102" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="andhra-pradesh" source="Orion">Andhra Pradesh</keyword>), which has a strong portfolio of delivering for major domestic and international projects, according to the company. Currently, the Delhi Metro network consists of about 391 km with 286 stations. The network has now crossed the boundaries of Delhi to reach Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad in <keyword id="6357713" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="uttar-pradesh" source="Orion">Uttar Pradesh</keyword>, Gurugram, Faridabad, Bahadurgarh and Ballabhgarh in Haryana.
