Gopal Snacks IPO allotment – How to check allotment, GMP, listing date and more

The stock closed at ₹360, which is ₹41 below its issue price of ₹401. Its market capitalization is at ₹4,486 crore, as per the Bombay Stock Exchange. Gopal Snacks makes a wide variety of savoury snacks under the Gopal brand. Its portfolio has 84 products across 276 stock-keeping units. Low expectations and bad timing Analysts had been worried that the company’s listing would be affected by the small-cap stocks crash. Yesterday, the stock of J G Chemicals slipped 16% below the issue price on its debut, in line with a crash in the broader stock markets. “While considering subdued secondary market scenario and continued selling pressure seen in mid &amp; small caps spaces, Gopal may be the victim and listing can be on a flat to muted note,” said <keyword id="20226500" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="prashanth-tapse" source="keywords">Prashanth Tapse</keyword>, senior VP of research at Mehta Equities. Yet it has seen good subscription levels, and interest before the small stocks’ crash. A long-term prospect? The popular ghatia maker’s ₹650 crore initial public offer was subscribed nine times the shares on offer with good interest from institutional investors. It also raised ₹194 crore from anchor investors like DSP Mutual Fund, Quant Mutual Fund, IIFL Wealth &amp; Asset Management and more; ahead of the offer. “We believe this listing gives an opportunity to investors to accumulate the growth story for the long term. Hence, considering all the parameters we recommend allotted investors to ‘hold’ and those who missed and wish to add can accumulate it at any dip post listing for long-term perspective only," adds Tapse. It also manufactures other semi-perishable FMCG products like papad, spices, gram flour or besan, noodles, rusk and <keyword id="20952019" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="soan-papdi" source="keywords">soan papdi</keyword>. Its products are sold across 523 locations in ten states and two union territories. Gopal Snacks distribution network comprises three depots and 617 distributors. It operates six manufacturing facilities in India, two of the three primary manufacturing facilities located in Rajkot and Modasa in Gujarat and one in Nagpur, Maharashtra. It also has three ancillary manufacturing facilities located in Rajkot and Modasa. “Gopal Snacks enjoys a 31% share in the gathiya sub-segment within ethnic namkeens with eight varieties of gathiya. It is the second-largest ethnic snack manufacturer in competitive Gujarat and the fourth largest in India,” said <keyword id="20548750" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="anand-rathi" source="keywords">Anand Rathi</keyword> in its IPO note.

Bad timing? Gopal Snacks slips 10% below  issue price on debut day

<ul><li>Even though five public issues opened this week, they received stellar subscriptions.</li><li>Smaller and niche companies are also finding favour with all classes of investors along with big issues like IREDA and Tata Tech.</li><li>The <keyword id="6354763" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ipo" source="Orion">IPO</keyword> party will roll over into the New Year too, as investors are keen to participate in India’s growth story. </li></ul>India’s primary market is showing no signs of slowing down, even after mopping-up ₹1.5 lakh crore from investors this week. An eclectic mix of companies are hitting the primary markets ranging from ‘gathia’ (Gujarati snack) makers, apparel brands to marketing agencies will make their case for investors in the coming months. This flow of new IPOs will continue to hit the market, experts predict, thanks to the stellar response received of the issues that hit this week. All IPOs, barring the Fedbank Financial Services issue, were subscribed at least twice over on the first day. Tata Technologies offering was lapped up like hot cakes on a winter morning as it was swiftly overbooked within hours. “Investors have come through,” Munish Aggarwal, managing director of Equirus Group tells Business Insider India. “In fact, a lot of them were launched parallelly because there is a lot of equity in the market. QIBs are very active too,” he comments. The QIB quota of four of five IPOs live this week, barring Fedbank, were subscribed over 100 times the shares on offer. changed from extant T+6 to T+3. It means an issue can now debut on exchanges within three days of receiving subscriptions. And many companies are choosing to go for it, which means IPO bid amount is blocked for shorter timelines. “Investors now have the opportunity for having early credit and liquidity for their investment, which enable investors to analyse and participate in more number of IPOs opening parallel, as we gear for bigger capital formation,” says Lunawat. Listing gains in focus next week If the grey market premiums are anything to go by, next week will be much better for the issues that were open this week. Analysts say that those who missed out on share allotment due to heavy oversubscription might try to buy from the secondary market – and that’s pushed the listing gains expected for issues live this week — anywhere between 23-78%. Even as the response to IREDA and Tata Technologies was expected as they have strong legacy and brand names, investors are also willing to make their bets on smaller, newer and niche companies. Gandhar Oil Refinery’s book is just as busy as that of Tata Technologies, even though it’s a much smaller issue. “It has leading market share in the Indian white oil market with significant overseas presence; and a well-diversified product portfolio with an extensive customer base,” comments Kunvarji Wealth Solutions. Pen manufacturer Flair Instruments too is getting good interest. “Being among the top three players in the overall writing instrument industry with a market share of 9% in the overall writing and creative instruments industry in India, we believe the company is strategically positioned coupled with a track record of sustained growth,” said Rajan Shinde, research analyst at Mehta Equities. No business is too small or too niche for investors who are all set to buy into the India growth story Institutions as well as retail investors are ready to make their bets on new, fast-growing companies. And, IPOs are coming for them.

In the last eighteen months, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=aam+admi+party&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Aam Aadmi Party</a> including Delhi Chief Minister <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=arvind+kejriwal&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Arvind Kejriwal </a>and six cabinet members have managed to spend over Rs 1 crore on just tea and snacks for their guests. 
 
The details emerged from an <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=RTI&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">RTI</a> query filed by <keyword id="193039" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vivek-Garg">Vivek Garg</keyword> who sought to know how much the Delhi ministers spend on tea and snacks. Leading the pack is <keyword id="260213" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Arvind-Kejriwal">Arvind Kejriwal</keyword>, who drew up a cumulative bill of Rs 47.29 lakhs which includes Rs 22,42,320 spent at the secretariat office and Rs 24,86,921 spent at his residence camp office. It goes without saying that Kejriwal seems to have left his hunger strike days way way behind. 
 
Following him is Deputy Chief Minister <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=manish+sisodia&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Manish Sisodia</a> who spent a total of Rs 11.28 lakhs on refreshments. 
 
 
Ex-transport minister Gopal Rai who was fired for allegations of corruption was not one to be left behind. As it turns out, he too raked up a bill of over TRs 11 lakh. 
 Then there is <keyword id="6367909" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sandeep-Kumar">Sandeep Kumar</keyword>, the ex-social welfare minister who was recently sacked and is in the midst of a sexual assault allegation. Kumar spent over Rs 9 lakh on tea and snacks, while Health Minister <keyword id="6378951" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Satyendra-Jain">Satyendra Jain</keyword> also used up Rs 9.1 lakh. Last, but not the least, Tourism Minister <keyword id="6381732" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kapil-Mishra">Kapil Mishra</keyword> spent over Rs 6 lakh and <keyword id="339091" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Imran-Hussain">Imran Hussain</keyword>, the Food and Civil Supply Minister spent a little over Rs 5 lakh on snacks. 
 
Picking up the tab for all of them is none but us-the taxpayers.

It was one of the most important meetings for the telecom industry where CEOs of top telecom companies in the country met with the newly appointed <keyword id="46149" type="POSITION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Telecom-minister">Telecom Minister</keyword>, <keyword id="6357016" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Manoj-Sinha">Manoj Sinha</keyword>. Hold on, we will tell you what was discussed in the meeting but before that see what the top CEOs were served. 
 
Yes, like in all meetings that the CEOs attend all over the world there are refreshments and there were some in this meeting too. Only difference is it was widely different from the usual hors d’oeuvre of the corporate world. Gopal Vittal of Airtel, Sunil Sood of Vodafone, Himanshu Kapania of Idea along with other telecom CEOs were part of this very crucial meeting but first here’s what they were served. A) Cheap pineapple pastry B) Coleslaw Sandwich wrapped in cellophane sheet, C) Bengal gram, complete with plastic spoons and ketchup in sachets. Now wouldn’t it be a treat to see India’s top CEOs teething open their ketchup packets. 
 
 
 
The corporate world is light-years ahead on the kind of refreshments served in their meetings but situation in these sarkari offices still look like they were serving refreshments at a six year olds birthday party... in the 60s. In the two hour long meeting, the CEOs had no choice but to nibble on the refreshments (if we can call it that) some to satiate their hunger and some just plain out of respect. Most of the CEOs stuck to the Bengal gram, few braved the pastry but no one touched the sandwich, probably too much work to free it from the clutches of the cellophane bags that they came wrapped in. 
 
 
 
Coming to the meeting, it was an extremely crucial meeting between the new telecom minister, telecom department officials and the telecom CEOs. Telecom operators voiced their concern on all the major issues in the sector like telecom being a highly taxed sector, payment method for upcoming spectrum auction, e-KYC norms for acquisition of subscribers and of course call drops. Issue of call drops was discussed in a big way as telecom operators on June 10th this year had committed to setting up 60,000 towers in 100 days in order to deal with the issue of call drops. The new telecom minister said out of the total 60,000 towers, so far telcos have installed 48,000 towers. Telecom minister said “Targets given to the telcos on call drops progress is satisfactory but telcos will have to put more efforts to make the consumers feel the progress made.” The telecom operators also discussed many policy developments like spectrum sharing and trading with the minister. 
 
 
 
Sounds like a very important meeting, so we got on it full swing and decided to get a chef’s opinion in, Chef Saby of Lavaash by Saby says “Corporate world is very particular about the refreshments served during the meetings as they speak volumes about the company. Refreshments vary from bite size Granola with walnuts and cranberries to nut crusted fresh palm fruit. And sandwiches and pastries are a big no. Fresh fruit juices will have to be a part of the spread. Basically the idea is to keep it healthy as these meetings can be very stressful.” 
 
While we are sure this particular meeting was stressful but the snacks were far from healthy. And all these extremely key issues in the industry were discussed over pineapple pastries and sandwiches which were far from the bite size pops these CEOs are used to. Just saying.
