A unicorn, in startup parlance, is a company valued at or over a billion dollars. About $140 million was raised as primary capital. The remaining $10 million was raised as secondary capital leading to the partial exit of Chiratae Ventures, MyGlamm’s founder Darpan Sanghvi told Business Insider. Several undisclosed high networth individuals (HNI) have also exited the company. The Series D round was led by investors Prosus Ventures (Naspers), Warburg Pincus along with the participation from Alteria Capital. Existing investors such as L’Occitane, Bessemer Venture Partners, Amazon, Ascent Capital and the Mankekar Family Office also participated in the round. The Good Glamm Group is a culmination of three brands MyGlamm, digital media/e-commerce platform POPxo and online parenting startup BabyChakra. The three companies and their founders — Darpan Sanghvi (MyGlamm), Priyanka Gill (POPxo) and Naiyya Saggi (BabyChakra) — have created this entity to set up a house of brands and further enhance each other’s presence in the beauty and personal care space. ScoopWhoop and MyGlamm’s parent, which is backed by Amazon, is now valued over a billion dollars

Feminine hygiene startup <keyword id="7326219" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sirona" source="Orion">Sirona</keyword> on Tuesday said it has raised ₹100 crore in funding from <keyword id="12352571" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="good-glamm" source="Orion">Good Glamm</keyword> Group. The round also saw secondary buyout with early investors including seed and angel investors taking an exit, a statement said. Sirona - which makes products like PeeBuddy and menstrual cups - said it aims to hit the ₹500 crore revenue mark in three years. In April, Sirona had raised USD 3 million in series A funding round, co-led by NB Ventures and IAN Fund. The company said almost one million women use Sirona Menstrual Cups, and over 3 million units of PeeBuddy and over 4 lakh Sirona Feminine Pain Relief Patches have been sold. “We had multiple term sheets from VCs and other strategic investors but the combination of money and immediate value which the Good Glam Group offered was unparalleled. We have been profitable for the last 3 years and are growing steadily," <keyword id="9138019" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sirona-hygiene" source="Orion">Sirona Hygiene</keyword> founder and CEO Deep Bajaj said. He added that the partnership with The Good Glamm group, given their edge in terms of content and offline access will help the company scale faster while staying profitable. Feminine hygiene startup Sirona raises ₹100 crore from ScoopWhoop's parent Good Glamm Group

As a part of the plan, the company said it will acquire 4 to 6 businesses in this space in the next 90-180 days. It has a war chest of ₹750 crore ($100 million) to make these strategic investments in <keyword id="12188627" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="beauty-and-personal-care-brands" source="Orion">beauty and personal care brands</keyword>. The capital will be deployed by March 2022. The Mumbai-based cosmetics company had previously acquired digital media/e-commerce platform <keyword id="3128172" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="popxo" source="Orion">POPxo</keyword> and online parenting startup <keyword id="2796305" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="babychakra" source="Orion">BabyChakra</keyword> over the last eighteen months. The founders of both the companies — Priyanka Gill (POPxo) and Naiyya Saggi (BabyChakra) — had joined Darpan Sanghvi as cofounders at MyGlamm. The trio will be leading the latest entity, which plans to go public in the next two years. In order to fund their aggressive acquisition plans, the Good Glamm Group has raised ₹255 crore (about $34.5 million) — ₹100 crore in equity and ₹155 crore in venture debt — from Trifecta Leaders and Stride Ventures. The company is also backed by Amazon, Accel, L’Occitane, Chiratae and others. In a conversation with Business Insider, MyGlamm’s Sanghvi revealed that they are on the lookout for Indian brands that have a revenue of ₹50 crore to ₹200 crore. This acquisition is more like an alliance Each of these acquired companies will continue to operate as individual entities, which said it will give access to 88 million users of POPxo, 20 million moms on BabyChakra and MyGlamm’s 20,000 point of sales offline, which will grow to a 30,000 by December. Besides this, these brands will also get access to the user base of other platforms that are acquired by the Good Glamm Group in the future. “So, imagine you're a D2C entrepreneur who's built out of a very strong, robust brand on marketplaces right now. The next level of growth will typically come from you having the access to data that you need for marketing bulk. If you want to reach out to a very very large audience of women. MyGlamm has set aside $100 million to acquire 6 beauty and personal care brands under new entity

The company has raised $25 million from US-based Tiger Global, at a valuation of $3.4 billion. According to filings with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Upstox has approved the allotment of 18,671 Series C shares to Tiger Global at an issue price of ₹98,608 to raise ₹185 crore ($25 million). Business Insider’s sources have confirmed the valuation of this round, highlighting that this investment is part of a larger round. Upstox is the 40th startup to enter the unicorn club. The company started off as a proprietary trading firm RKSV Securities, but ventured into retail brokerage with the launch of Upstox in 2012. It offers online stock market investment services, advisory services, mutual fund investments and more.
