Aviation regulator <keyword id="6354787" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="dgca" source="Orion">DGCA</keyword> on Friday said it has approved <keyword id="11252024" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="go-first" source="Orion">Go First</keyword>'s plan to restart operations with 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights, subject to certain conditions. Budget carrier Go First, which stopped flying on May 3, is undergoing an insolvency resolution process. In a release, the <keyword id="6354705" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="directorate-general-of-civil-aviation" source="Orion">Directorate General of Civil Aviation</keyword> (DGCA) said the airline's resumption plan for operating 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights has been reviewed and accepted. "The acceptance is subject to the outcome of the writ petitions/ applications pending before the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi &amp; Hon'ble <keyword id="6355809" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nclt" source="Orion">NCLT</keyword>, Delhi," it said. Go First may resume scheduled flight operations on the availability of interim funding and approval of flights scheduled by DGCA, the release said. Further, the regulator has directed Go First to ensure compliance with all the applicable regulatory requirements and the continued airworthiness of the aircraft engaged in operations. The airline's Resolution Professional (RP) submitted the resumption plan to DGCA on June 28, and subsequently, the regulator conducted a special audit of the carrier's facilities in Mumbai and Delhi. "DGCA has ensured that the findings of the special audit have been adequately addressed by Go First," the release said, adding that the resumption plan was amended on July 15. DGCA approves Go First's flight resumption plan with certain conditions

Budget airline <keyword id="11252024" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="go-first" source="Orion">Go First</keyword> has cancelled all its flights till May 28, citing operational reasons. Earlier, the airlines had cancelled flights till May 26. In a note posted on Twitter on Friday, the airline said, "We regret to inform that due to operational reasons, <keyword id="11937496" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="go-first-flights" source="Orion">Go First flights</keyword> scheduled till May 28, 2023, have been cancelled. We apologise for the convenience caused by the flight cancellations." The airline also said a full refund will be issued to the original mode of payment shortly. The airline also said the company has filed an application for immediate resolution and revival of operations. It mentioned that it would be able to resume bookings shortly. On Tuesday, budget carrier Go First replied to the show cause notice issued by aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) where the airline mentioned that it has no definite timeline to resume operations. Civil aviation ministry officials said that airlines expressed an intent to resume operations at the earliest. "There is no definitive timeline as of now for the resumption of operations by Go First. They have expressed an intent to resume operations at the earliest thought," a senior aviation ministry official said. Earlier the regulator DGCA asked the company (Go First) to respond to the show cause notice within 15 days. The regulator had asked Go First to explain the reasons for its inability to run operations and stopped new bookings and halted the sale of tickets. The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on Monday upheld the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) order which had admitted Go First Airlines' voluntary plea for insolvency. "It disposed of the lessors' petition and asked them to file an appeal before the NCLT."

During the school year, she provides <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/childcare-daycare-cost-new-york-city-crisis-housing-2023-9">after-school care</a>, helps with homework, and supervises the kids. For two summers in a row, she's been a day camp counselor.Spending all this time with the kids has helped her to realize that she enjoys it. It's helped her narrow down her list of possible majors, and she's pretty sure she'll <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/career-change-less-money-more-rewarding-2024-10">pursue teaching</a>. If she'd hated it, that would be OK, too. I'd much rather she discover this wasn't for her now than after four years of school.<h2 id="fff3644c-6fd1-4f1d-a752-939a1eedf0be">She's had time to explore other interests, too</h2>Along with narrowing down her major, she's saved money from working and hasn't had to spend any yet on <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/student-loans/how-to-pay-for-college">college expenses</a>. She's looking to buy a car, which she couldn't have afforded if she'd gone straight to college.She has also had quality time with lots of us in the family. She meets up with her younger brother during his lunch period on Fridays. She and I hike one morning a week. She stays up to hang out with her dad when the rest of us are fast asleep. She has <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/one-on-one-time-children-mother-daughter-relationship-2023-11">one-on-one time</a> with us that she wouldn't get if she'd gone away to school.She also took her first solo airplane trip to visit her grandparents last fall. Beyond simply navigating the airport and hopping on a plane, she got to deal with a flight delay and eventual cancellation on the way home. It wasn't a fun experience but a valuable one that taught her to rely on herself and solve problems.My daughter still doesn't have any major plans for her future, but she's now looking at <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/saved-money-by-going-community-college-first-2023-10">community colleges</a> where she can get her general education out of the way before transferring to a university.The path she's taken so far isn't one that would have occurred to me. But I'm glad she recognized it was right for her. I'm excited to see what happens next.

NCLAT on Friday deferred the matter pertaining to Go First lessors' petition seeking a stay on a bankruptcy court order allowing voluntary insolvency of the low-cost airline to Monday. On May 10, the NCLT admitted Go First's plea for voluntary insolvency and admitted for the initiation of Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) proceedings. NCLT has granted Go First protection under a moratorium from recovery by lessors and lenders. NCLT, in its order, said, "We admit the plea of Go Airlines for insolvency proceedings. It said that we appoint Abhilash Lal as IRP (insolvency resolution professional)." "The suspended board of directors will cooperate with the IRP. Suspended directors are also ordered to deposit Rs 5 crore to make the immediate expenses," the order stated. The budget airline had also cancelled all the flights' operations till May 19 due to operational reasons, "Go First flights until 19th May 2023 are cancelled. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and request customers." US-based jet manufacturers Pratt and Whitney (P-W) has defended itself against the budget airline's claim that P-W is responsible for the financial condition and bankruptcy. "Go First's allegations that Pratt and Whitney is responsible for its financial condition are without merit. Pratt and Whitney will vigorously defend itself against Go's claims, and is pursuing its own legal recourse," Pratt and Whitney spokesperson told ANI. The airline, owned by the troubled Wadia Group, had earlier blamed P-W for the faulty engines that led to its ongoing financial crisis and it was later forced to file an involuntary bankruptcy petition. The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal will pass its order on May 22 on petitions filed by three aircraft lessors against <keyword id="11252024" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Go-First" source="Orion">Go First</keyword>'s voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings. A two-member bench headed by Chairperson Justice Ashok Bhushan on Monday reserved its order after completing the hearing on the the three petitions. The bench also asked the parties to submit additional documents, if any, in the next 48 hours. The appellate tribunal was hearing a batch of petitions filed by SMBC Aviation Capital Ltd, GY Aviation and <keyword id="17413255" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="sfv-aircraft-holdings" source="Orion">SFV Aircraft Holdings</keyword>. All three lessors have leased out around 21 aircraft to Go First. So far this month, several lessors have approached aviation regulator DGCA for deregistration and repossession of Go First's 45 planes. Go First stopped flying from May 3. Last week the Delhi-based principal bench of the NCLT appointed an interim resolution professional to look after the affairs of Go First and also suspended its board as part of the insolvency resolution process. Leading multiplex operator <keyword id="19986619" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="PVR-INOX" source="keywords">PVR INOX</keyword> plans to close 70 <keyword id="22996404" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="non-performing-screens" source="Orion">non-performing screens</keyword> in FY25 and will go for potential <keyword id="20069509" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="monetisation" source="keywords">monetisation</keyword> of non-core <keyword id="20478737" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="real-estate-assets" source="keywords">real estate assets</keyword> in prime locations such as Mumbai, Pune, and Vadodara, according to its latest annual report. Though the company will add 120 new screens in FY25, it will also close almost 60-70 non-performing screens, as it chases for <keyword id="738150" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="profitable-growth" source="Orion">profitable growth</keyword>. About 40 per cent of new screens addition will come from South India, where it will have a "strategic focus" on this lesser penetrated region as per its medium to long-term strategy. Moreover, <keyword id="799" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="PVR" source="Orion">PVR</keyword> <keyword id="6407732" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="INOX" source="Orion">INOX</keyword> is redefining its growth strategy by transitioning towards a capital-light growth model to reduce its capex on new screens addition by 25 to 30 per cent in the current fiscal. Now, PVR INOX will partner with developers to jointly invest in new screen capex by shifting towards a franchise-owned and company-operated (FOCO) model. It is also evaluating monetisation of owned real estate assets, as the leading film exhibitor aims to become "net-debt free" company in the foreseeable future. "This involves a potential monetisation of our non-core real estate assets in prime locations such as Mumbai, Pune, and Vadodara," said Managing Director Ajay Kumar Bijli and Executive Director Sanjeev Kumar addressing the shareholders of the company. In terms of growth, they said the focus is to speed up expansion in underrepresented markets. "Our company's medium to long-term strategy will involve expanding the number of screens in South India due to the region's high demand for films and comparatively low number of multiplexes in comparison to other regions. We estimate that approximately 40 per cent of our total screen additions will come from South India," they said. During the year, PVR INOX opened 130 new screens across 25 cinemas and also shut down 85 under-performing screens across 24 cinemas in line with its strategy of profitable growth. "This rationalisation is part of our ongoing efforts to optimise our portfolio. The number of closures seems high because we are doing it for the first time as a combined entity," said Bijli. PVR INOX's net debt in FY24 was at Rs 1,294 crore. The company had reduced its net debt by Rs 136.4 crore last fiscal, said CFO Gaurav Sharma. "Even though we are cutting down on capital expenditure, we are not compromising on growth and will open almost 110-120 screens in FY25. At the same time, not wavering from our goal of profitable growth, we will exit almost 60-70 screens that are non-performing and a drag on our profitability," he said. In FY24, PVR's revenue was at Rs 6,203.7 crore and it reported a loss of Rs 114.3 crore. This was the first full year of operations of the merged entity PVR INOX. Over the progress on merger integration, Bijli said "80-90 per cent of the targeted synergies was achieved in 2023-24" In FY24, PVR INOX had a 10 per cent growth in ticket prices and 11 per cent in F&amp;B spend per head, which was "higher-than-normal". This was primarily on account of merger synergies on the integration of PVR and INOX, said Sharma. "Going forward, the increase in ticket prices and food and beverage spending per head will be more in line with the long-term historical growth rates," he said. PVR INOX aims to restore pre-pandemic operating margins, enhancing return on capital, and driving free cash flow generation. "We aim to boost revenue by increasing footfalls through innovative customer acquisition and retention," said Sharma adding "We are also driving cost efficiencies by renegotiating rental contracts, closing under-performing screens, adopting a leaner organisational structure, and controlling overhead costs."

The company has recently filed an application for immediate resolution under insolvency and revival of its operations. "We will be able to resume bookings shortly. We thank you for your patience." Go First cancels all flights till May 19 citing operational reasons

Crisis-hit airline <keyword id="11252024" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="go-first" source="Orion">Go First</keyword> has suspended sale of tickets till May 15 and is working to refund or reschedule existing bookings for future dates, aviation regulator <keyword id="6354787" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dgca" source="Orion">DGCA</keyword> said on Thursday. The <keyword id="6354705" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="directorate-general-of-civil-aviation" source="Orion">Directorate General of Civil Aviation</keyword> (DGCA) had issued a show cause notice to the airline after it suddenly decided to cancel flights for three days starting May 3. "<keyword id="6354976" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="go" source="Orion">Go</keyword> First has intimated that they have suspended sale of their flights till 15 May 2023 and are working to refund or reschedule for future dates, the passengers already booked to fly with them," the regulator said in a statement. After examining the reply filed by Go First, the watchdog has issued an order "under the prevailing regulations directing them to process the refunds to passengers as per the timelines specifically stipulated in the relevant regulation". The regulator also said it is committed to minimising passenger inconvenience in view of the abrupt decision by Go First to suspend their scheduled operations without any prior intimation. Separately, Go First said it has cancelled flights till May 9 due to operational reasons. "We regret to inform that due to operational reasons, Go First flights scheduled till 9th May 2023 have been cancelled... A full refund will be issued to the original mode of payment shortly," the airline said in an update on its website. In addition, the airline sought direction to appoint an insolvency resolution process (IRP) for the betterment of Go First. The NCLT, the President Justice Ramalingam <keyword id="198622" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sudhakar" source="Orion">Sudhakar</keyword> and technical member LN Gupta announced the order, adding, "We appoint Abhilash Lal as IRP (Insolvency Resolution Professional).
