The 15-year old airline owned by the Wadia Group, which also owns companies like Britannia and Bombay Dyeing, will use the money received from the share sale to repay its debt. This would be the third listed airline in India after Interglobe Aviation (which operates IndiGo) and SpiceJet (owned by former bureaucrat-turned-businessman Ajay Singh) if the IPO goes through. Go Air had raked in a loss of ₹1,270 crore for the year ended March 2020 on a revenue of over ₹7,250 crore. <div type="image" title="go air earnings" msid="82627649" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Graphics by Business Insider India&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> It is now focusing on ultra low cost carrier model. Of a fleet of 55 that the Wadias' airline had at the end of March 2021, 46 of them were A320 NEO aircraft. The company intends to add another 16 planes to its fleet by March 2024. Aside from a massive debt of over ₹2,000 crore, Go First has been dealing declining market share too. More than a tenth of that is the money owed to the state-owned Indian Oil Corporation for jet fuel already bought. Just about six months ago, in November 2020, the company's auditors had expressed doubts about the then Go Air's ability to continue its business, the disclosures in the IPO prospectus showed. After that, the company got an emergency credit line from banks in February 2021. That share was down to 7.8% at the end of March 2020. Passenger traffic was still less than half (45%) of what it was before the pandemic struck and about one in every flights were idling in April 2021, according to a report from the broking firm Centrum dated May 5. International crude oil prices are expected to rise and that would mean the cost of jet fuel will also rise, unlike the passenger traffic. And, the impact could get worse if the rupee loses value against the dollar. "Looking at the current climate of subdued demand, a depreciating rupee (impacting 65-70% of costs including fuel), rising ATF (aviation turbine fuel) prices and daily cash burn, we continue to have a negative stance on the aviation industry," a BOBCAPS report dated April 30 said. Go Air has filed for a ₹3,600 crore IPO at a very desperate time

IndiGo, India's largest air carrier, filed a <a href="http://www.investmentbank.kotak.com/downloads/interglobe-aviation-limited-DRHP.pdf">draft prospectus</a> on Tuesday for an IPO that would include the sale of 30.15 million existing shares worth 12.7 billion rupees, or $199.64 million. In total, the IPO could bring in close to $400 million, <a href="http://in.reuters.com/article/2015/06/30/indigo-ipo-idINKCN0PA0H020150630">according to Reuters</a>. The wire service also reports that among those who stand to fair the best from this massive offering is <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/us-airways-ceo-how-911-changed-our-airline-2011-9">former U.S. Airways CEO</a> Rakesh Gangwal. He left the company to found IndiGo in 2006. India's largest air carrier is going public - and could raise $400 million

The Gurugram-based company had filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) in February this year, with plans to raise ₹6,000 crore from the IPO. But <a href="https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/trends/blackstone-backed-sona-comstar-may-launch-rs-5500-crore-ipo-next-week-biggest-ever-in-auto-components-segment-7005191.html">reports</a> suggest that the offering has been reduced to ₹5,500 crore. Sona Comstar is backed by US-based private equity giant Blackstone. Out of the ₹5,500 crore IPO, Blackstone Group affiliate Singapore VII Topco III would get ₹5,200 crore. The remaining ₹300 crore will be raised via a fresh issue of equity shares. Blackstone-backed Sona Comstar’s ₹5,500 crore IPO could open next week, reports suggest

In an afternoon email on Tuesday, Rich Barry at the NYSE noted that this week, 14 companies are looking to go public. So far, however, 2015 has been a lackluster year for companies making debuts, with only 82 companies coming to market this year, 40% fewer than a year ago. As for why the IPO market is heating up now, Barry said that not only does the Fed look poised to raise rates for the first time since 2006, but the overall market looks "relatively healthy."Here's Barry:Turning from boring to exciting, the IPO market is really starting to heat up as this week promises to be the biggest week of the year for the IPO market with roughly 14 companies slated to go public looking to raise total funds north of $2 billion. It has been a bit of a lackluster start for the IPO market, as there have been 82 IPOs this year, roughly 40 percent below where we were last year. However, June is looking to be one of the biggest months for IPOs in years, with perhaps as many as 34 - the biggest month since 1999. Why is the market finally heating up? The single most important factor is positive returns for investors. With the overall market relatively healthy, IPOs have also done extremely well. A second factor is the feeling that now is a great time to take a company public, before the Fed begins raising interest rates later this year...And if you're seeing 1999 and worrying that we're on the edge of a new bubble or something, keep in mind that if pro-rate 82 IPOs to the rest of the year we're looking at around 164 debuts in 2015.Even adjusting for an uptick in the rate of companies going public, we're not that close to being on pace for more than, say, 200 companies to go public this year. June is on track to be the biggest month for IPOs since 1999

Three companies - low-cost carrier <keyword id="6354706" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Indigo">IndiGo</keyword>, staffing firm <keyword id="133742" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="TeamLease">Teamlease</keyword> and e-retailer Infibeam - have lined up for public offers to generate around more than Rs 3,000 crore from investors, reported PTI. According to banking sources, the draft papers for all the three Initial Public Offers (IPOs) were being submitted to capital markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (<keyword id="35210" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="sebi">SEBI</keyword>) today. <keyword id="300127" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Interglobe-Enterprises">InterGlobe Enterprises</keyword>, which runs the country's biggest airline by market share under 'IndiGo' brand, wants to raise Rs 2,000-2,500 crore through the <keyword id="6354763" type="EVENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="IPO">IPO</keyword>, sources said, adding Teamlease is looking to raise Rs 450-500 crore and Infibeam about Rs 400 crore. 

	IndiGo flew 27.69 lakh passengers in May, accounting for more than a third of the total traffic. Last month, all Indian carriers together ferried a total of 71.27 lakh passengers. 
 

	The privately-held IndiGo is one of the two domestic carriers making profit. The other profitable airline is GoAir. 
 Earlier this month, Sydney-based aviation think-tank '<keyword id="109712" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Centre-for-Asia-Pacific-Aviation">Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation</keyword>' (CAPA) said IndiGo is estimated to have recorded a profit of $150-175 million in fiscal 2015. 

	IndiGo was founded in 2006 by travel entrepreneur Rahul Bhatia and US Airways former chief executive Rakesh Gangwal. 
 After a prolonged lull, the IPO space has become very active and over 30 companies have lined to raise funds totaling over Rs 20,000 crore through public offers, which also include Cafe Coffee Day, Matrix Cellular and <keyword id="470455" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="GVK-Airport">GVK Airport</keyword>. 

	At least 20 of these firms have already got the go-ahead from SEBI to launch their respective IPOs while draft IPO papers of five firms are currently "under process" but may be cleared soon. 
 Three companies -- Cafe Coffee Day, Matrix Cellular and <keyword id="2179992" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="RBL-Bank">RBL Bank</keyword> -- approached the regulator last week and they are now being followed by the likes of IndiGo, Infibeam and Teamlease. The flurry of activity in the IPO space follows stabilising trends in the <keyword id="35199" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="stock-markets">stock markets</keyword> and the companies are looking to raise funds to finance their business expansion and loan repayments and meet working capital requirements. 

	It also comes at a time when the regulator SEBI has announced a slew of fresh reforms in the IPO space, including for halving the listing period to six days and making the application process for investors entirely cheque-free.

Airline executives have been in talks with financial institutions and potential investors, and the UK-based airline is likely to announce plans for an initial public offering as soon as the fall, the report on Saturday said, citing sources. The IPO would be the first time the public has been able to buy shares in Richard Branson's airline carrier since it was founded in 1984. It would also see the British billionaire give up control of the business.Branson is the majority owner of Virgin Atlantic, with a 51% stake, and the remaining 49% stake is held by Delta Air Lines. Unless he takes up new equity through the IPO, Branson's ownership would be diluted.A stock-market listing would be a significant landmark for the airline, which struggled more than other carriers during COVID restrictions due to its reliance on UK-US routes.The pandemic has brought several industries to a standstill, but air carriers have been among the hardest hit as governments clamped down on travel to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. A Virgin Atlantic presentation to investors is said to have focused on its strong potential to benefit from constrained consumer demand.No potential valuation for Branson's flagship airline was given in the report. Virgin Atlantic declined to comment.Virgin Atlantic secured funding of $222 million earlier this year, a sign that the carrier is not in immediate need of a cash injection. Branson and other top executives want the listing to go ahead, as they want the airline to be open to further ways of raising money to take advantage of a post-pandemic rebound, Sky News reported.
