Telegram wants to allow users to store and trade cryptocurrencies

The <keyword id="6355302" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rupee" source="Orion">rupee</keyword> appreciated 18 paise to 81.08 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday supported by a weak dollar in the overseas market. Forex traders said weak domestic equities and foreign fund outflows weighed on the local unit and restricted the appreciation bias. At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic unit opened at 81.11 against the dollar, then gained further ground to touch 81.08, registering a rise of 18 paise over its previous close. On Thursday, the rupee appreciated by 4 paise to close at 81.26 against the US dollar. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, fell 0.01 per cent to 104.71. Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, advanced 0.22 per cent to USD 87.07 per barrel. In the domestic equity market, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading 259.39 points or 0.41 per cent lower at 63,024.80. The broader NSE Nifty fell 71.60 points or 0.38 per cent to 18,740.90. <keyword id="6438315" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="foreign-institutional-investors" source="Orion">Foreign Institutional Investors</keyword> (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital markets on Thursday as they offloaded shares worth Rs 1,565.93 crore, according to exchange data. Rupee gains 18 paise to 81.08 against US dollar

While all three members of the CAC are former cricket players, Naik is the only continuing member. Naik, in an 11-year-long career, played two Tests, 46 ODIs and 31 T20Is for India. Paranjape replaced Rudra Pratap Singh who left the committee to join IPL team Mumbai Indians as a talent scout. Meanwhile, Malhotra replaced former India seamer and Indian national cricket coach, Madan Lal. “Mr Malhotra has represented India in 7 Tests and 20 One-day internationals and recently served as the President of the Indian Cricketers’ Association. Mr Paranjape has played 4 ODIs for India and was part of the Senior Men’s Selection Committee,” said Jay Shah, honorary secretary-BCCI, in a press release. Simply put, the BCCI has appointed a team to hire the team – the selection committee– that will hire the players for the senior Indian National men’s team. As per the BCCI constitution, the selection committee is always appointed by the CAC. The selection committee – which consists of five members from five zones (Central, North, West, South, and East) of India – will ultimately be responsible for selecting players for the senior Indian National Cricket Team. In November, BCCI sacked the entire senior selection committee headed by Chetan Sharma. Other members of the committee were Harvinder Singh, Debasish Mohanty and Sunil Joshi. There was no selector from West Zone at the time, as Abbey Kuruvilla’s tenure had already ended. It was during Sharma’s reign as the chief selector that India delivered disappointing results, such as failing to clear the group stage in the 2021 T20 World Cup, and losing the World Test Championship to New Zealand in 2021. India, under Rohit Sharma’s captainship, also faced a crushing defeat at the hands of England in the semi final of 2022 T20 World Cup. But after the delivery, all the attention is given to the baby and not the mother,” Jain told Business Insider India. Mothers often go through a massive change not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. They are found to be the most vulnerable and prone to mental health problems during this crucial period. “The period after delivery was more difficult than the pregnancy because you’re not only taking care of your baby but also adjusting with your body that has gone through a massive change and this was very exhausting everyday as we’re in a figuring-out stage where we don’t know how to deal with the baby stuff,” Jain added. Often these mood swings and decreased sleep are regarded as postpartum blues, which most women face after their pregnancy – generally they go away in a few weeks. Surprisingly, mental health problems after pregnancy can be genetic as well. “Causes can be genetic where there is a probable family history of the same. Physical and hormonal changes in the mother's body post childbirth also contribute to this. Emotional concerns of the mother and underlying stress can also aggravate it,” said Dr Rituparna Ghosh, consultant, psychology, Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai. Postpartum depression can not only affect the relationship between a mother and a child, it can also create physical health problems for the latter. Doctors say that it can affect the infant’s growth and development. “In developing countries like India, they are at a greater risk of being stunted and underweight. They may also not be breastfed and (the mothers may not) seek health care as much as they should leading to other problems. People of the lower strata are at a bigger risk of their children facing adverse psychological problems,” Dr Shamantha said. Vegrow provides a technology platform to farmers, which can be used to get high quality farm inputs and best farming practices. The platform also enables farmers to sell their harvest to the right buyers for the right price. The B2B startup claims to help farmers in getting higher returns, reducing supply-chain wastage and improving procurement for wholesalers. The company’s founders have emphasised that the new funding will help Vegrow to expand to 100 new cities, invest in technology and launch new products. The company claims to be one of the largest companies for pomegranates in the country in less than a year. Meanwhile, Lightspeed’s partner Vaibhav Agrawal said that companies building a tech-enabled marketplace between farmers and buyers could help eliminate inefficiencies and would have large market opportunities eventually. “Additionally, many marketplaces have scaled up on negative unit margins in this category, so we were really impressed by the growth and positive unit margin Vegrow has demonstrated using its technology-oriented approach to standardise quality, minimise inventory and retain farmers,” Agrawal added. Direct to consumer is when a brand sells their products directly to consumers without selling through any third party retailers, wholesalers etc. Some of the popular D2C brands in the market are MyGlamm, Mamaearth, Wow Skin Science, BoAT, and Go Noise and the number of these brands in India has more than doubled in the last two years, according to consulting firm Bain and Company. Platforms selling D2C brands include Meesho, Tata Cliq, Myntra, Nykaa and Ajio. However, ABFRL’s business model will be similar to the New York-based e-commerce player Thrasio, which acquires small merchants and brands listed on Amazon marketplace. Thrasio has acquired more than 100 third party sellers or fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) businesses and is valued at $6 billion. Indian players like 10Club, Mensa Brands (founded by Myntra's former CEO Ananth Narayanan) and GlobalBees (founded by FirstCry founder Supam Maheshwari and Edelweiss' former executive Nitin Agarwal) have garnered the interest of investors. Even Thrasio is not willing to let go off this opportunity. The combined revenue of all D2C retailers in India was $3 billion in 2020, and is likely to be $35 billion by 2025, according to a recent report by O3 Capital. Birla will use brands like these to sell the D2C brands it acquires to sell online. Ambani’s Reliance Retail has also been making big investments in e-tail including Ajio, a six-year old online marketplace that makes a bulk of its revenue from sale of fashion clothing. Tata’s product is called Tata Cliq, which sells products from Westside, Shoppersstop and other brands.
