<ul><li>More than a million big, medium and small idols of Lord Ganesha shall adorn millions of homes in India for 10 long days. </li><li>Bal Gangadhar Tilak in 1893 started <keyword id="6361913" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ganesh-chaturthi">Ganesh Chaturthi</keyword> to bring people together and fight against Britishers who were ruling India from over 200 years. </li></ul>Millions of people in Mumbai and across India will mark the beginning of Ganesh Chaturthi — a 10 day festival where people bring home of Ganesha in hope that He can bring in prosperity. After nine days of celebrations, the idols are immersed in a water body. A few Indians are keeping up with this tradition while trying to save the fragile ecosystem of the country. Many prefer to use eco-friendly Ganesh idols instead of the popular and cheaper varieties that use plaster of paris.

Millions of Indians are celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi — many of them have added a cause

<keyword id="106133" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ranveer-Singh">Ranveer Singh</keyword>, who is all set to win hearts in the role of Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao in his upcoming movie <keyword id="6391813" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bajirao-Mastani">Bajirao Mastani</keyword>, has decided to document an important day in his life, by deciding to live blog his day. 
 To give company to the talented actor is his rumored ladylove <keyword id="598" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Deepika-Padukone">Deepika Padukone</keyword>, as both of them are headed to Pune to attend the launch of the song Gajanana, the first song from Bajirao Mastani. 
 
Ranveer has been blogging about his journey all day, sharing images and videos to keep his fans updated about his whereabouts. 
 First came a sad selfie, as Ranveer and Deepika, lovingly called <keyword id="3056668" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="deepveer">DeepVeer</keyword> by their fans, got stuck because of bad weather.

Talking of the song, Gajanana, the song to be launched today is being launched amongst high aims. The makers of the movie are looking forward to create a world record for largest crowd forming a human still of the mosaic image of Ganpati. 
 
The unveiling would take place at Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex, Balewadi Stadium, Pune.

2. How different is today’s Bollywood music from the 80s? 
Us time pe picture bohot bante the (A lot of fims were produced back then). Me and Laxmikant practically had the full industry in our hands. 
 
Today the Khans release one film a year. People watch a song, and not just listen to it anymore. 
 
Also, we used to have live orchestra. I’m shuttling a lot between <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Los+Angeles">Los Angeles</a> and home. <keyword id="6356630" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="EDM">EDM</keyword> and Pop have a different beat, but melody is less. 
 
Punjabi Folk with disco beats are a hit today, like the one <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Kanika+Kapoor">Kanika Kapoor</a> sang. I love Punjabi Folk. I once popularized Bengali Folk – Yaar Bina Chain Kaha Re and De De Pyar De. 
 
4. Your fans complain you don’t sing enough in Bollywood as they would like you to. 
Two very big films coming next year. I composed two songs there. I don’t have enough time. I leave for America. Because of Slum Stars I’ve got very good contacts in Hollywood. 
 
The film got Best Film Award from Sydney. I have directed the film, and now it’s going for the National Awards. I’m also looking to submit for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Grammys">Grammys</a>. 
 
Everybody has dreams. I want to do international more. I want to project India, India’s classical fusion. I have done enough films.

I don’t buy any more. I’ve had these for 25 years. (Points) This Ganpati is for 20 years, this Tirupati Balaji for 20 years. This ‘B’ Mrs. Lahiri, my wife gifted. It suits me. 
 
Everything in Gold is old.

4. Holi/Easter Weekend (24th to 27th March) 
Who doesn’t love a three day week? Well everyone! Thanks to Holi and Easter you’ll have your Thursdays and Fridays off. GET SET GO! 
 
5. Gudi Padwa Weekend (8th to 10th April) 
Here’s another extended weekend that’ll increase the difficultly of you believing that you might not get a holiday on a Friday every week. But then again… 
 
6. Ram Navami weekend (14th-17th April) 
Work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and be rewarded with a weekend that’ll start from Thursday and end on Sunday and will seriously dampen any dreams of you being productive. Uh oh! 
 
7. Independence Day Weekend (13th-15th August) 
Oh man, 2016 will be the year we celebrate Independence Day in the true sense of the word independence- ie with holidays. Also, thanks to it falling on a Monday, we can bid goodbye to those Monday blues, as well! 
 
8. Janmasthami Weekend (25th-28th August) 
We’ll admit there’s a catch. You’ll have to take the Thursday off, but that is a small price to pay for getting the next three days off and a four day weekend, isn’t it? Get your approvals sorted, we say! 
 
9. Ganesh Chaturthi Weekend (3rd-5th September) 
Even Ganpati Bappa thinks you deserve the Saturday-Monday off. Can’t argue with that, can we? 
 
10. Bakri Eid Weekend (10th-12th September) 
We could get used to having Saturday, Sunday and Mondays off. Ah, the happiness! 
 
11. Dussehra/Durga Puja Weekend (8th-12th October) 
There’s no better way to celebrate Durga Puja and Dussehra than with a healthy dose of food and holidays! 
 
12. Diwali Weekend (28th October-30th October) 
Another Friday off? Thank you Universe. 
 
13. Guru Nanak Jayanti Weekend (12th-14th November) 
Monday is a holiday. Repeat after me. No working on a Monday. YES! 
 
14. Id-e-Milad Weekend (10th-13th December) 
You could end this glorious year with a holiday from Saturday to Tuesday, only if you manage to take a leave on the Monday. Totally worth it!
