With the sudden increase of influenza A subtype H3N2 cases across the country raising concerns, a health expert at Delhi's Sir <keyword id="4014646" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="gangaram-hospital" source="Orion">Gangaram Hospital</keyword> on Thursday pointed out that the pattern of viruses has changed remarkably and unexpectedly in the past six months. Hospitals across the country are reporting thousands of cases of H3N2 influenza. According to <keyword id="6195115" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="dr-dhiren-gupta" source="Orion">Dr Dhiren Gupta</keyword>, Senior Consultant, department of paediatric emergency and critical care, Sir <keyword id="222793" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="gangaram" source="Orion">Gangaram</keyword> hospital, said, "Over the past 6 months pattern of viruses has changed remarkably and unexpectedly. Normally, we expect influenza as the number 1 virus which can lead to hospitalisation. This time Influenza A virus subtype H3N2 has led to a lot of respiratory tract infections." <keyword id="1989242" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="dr-gupta" source="Orion">Dr Gupta</keyword> further said, "Another observation- type B influenza (past two months 5 leading to <keyword id="1334956" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="picu" source="Orion">PICU</keyword> admission) has led to more severe pulmonary infections in form of ARDS, severe pneumonia requiring ventilation." He said that another virus which is leading to serious disease is an adenovirus. "Over the past 2 months, there is a significant rise in adenovirus leading to intensive care unit admission. (11 patients required PICU over two months (Jan, Feb 2023) vs 17 in last 1 year (Jan till December 2022)," he pointed out. Further explaining adenovirus, Dr Gupta said that DNA virus mainly affects the upper respiratory tract, and eyes and spreads like COVID. "Adenovirus is a DNA virus, with more than 60 subtypes, severe disease has been associated with serotype 7, 14, serotype 5, 21, 14. Mainly affect the upper respiratory tract, and eyes. It can cause pneumonia in immunocompromised. Spread like COVID. Previously thought that this virus mainly affects less than two years and immunocompromised but this year its behaviour was very different, Cidofovir can be used in progressive disease in immunocompromised." he explained. The reporting of Intelligence Bureau is to remain with Shah, <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/amit-shah-empowers-his-ministers-of-state/articleshow/69867231.cms">according to reports</a>. The Jammu and Kashmir division was headed by Hansraj Ahir and northeast division was headed by <keyword id="638723" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kiren-Rijiju">Kiren Rijiju</keyword>, Shah’s predecessor <keyword id="6355121" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajnath-Singh">Rajnath Singh</keyword>. The key divisions of Jammu and Kashmir, the northeast, Union Territory, cyber security and counter-radicalisation, are assigned to G Kishan Reddy, while centre-state division, Police-I (that looks after transfer postings of IPS officers), foreigners divisions among others are assigned to Nityanand Rai. Shah will look after all decisions involving Cabinet matters and President’s house, besides IB. Reportedly, Shah has also tasked the two deputies with taking presentation from every division at the home ministry for better sync in their functioning. The home minister also reviewed details regarding the functioning of the MHA on the first day of taking charge at the North Block. In a first time ever, both the northeast and Jammu and Kashmir divisions have been allocated to the same minister of state. G Kishan Reddy is a three-time MLA and is a first-term MP from Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana. Nityanand Rai, who won from the Ujiarpur constituency in Bihar, has also been assigned incharge of women safety division, that was created last year following the Kathua rape case. Rai will also head the Left-wing extremism (LWE) division, that looks at anti-Maoist operations, besides disaster management and police modernisation division, as reported by officials. There are 24 ministers of state in the present council of ministers and six other ministers of state with independent charge.

Maharashtra’s Hatkanangle is a Lok Sabha constituency comprising of six Vidhan Sabha seats and the list includes Shahuwadi, Hatkanangle, Ichalkaranji, Shirol, Islampur, and Shirala. The Hatkanangle seat is reserved for SC candidates and the rest are general seats. For 2019 assembly elections, Shiv Sena is fielding Sujit Minchekar against the INC candidate Rahul P Khanjire. From the Shirol constituency, Shiv Sena fields Ulhas Patil. Shivajirao Naik is contesting from the Shirala seat. The term of the present assembly is ending in 2019 November and hence the new assembly polls conducted now will decide the new government who will take charge of the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha for the next five years. The date of the election is October 21, 2019. The votes will be counted on October 24, 2019 and the results are likely to be announced on the same day by evening. In 2019 general elections for the Lok Sabha, Raju Shetty of SWP won the seat overtaking Awade Kallappa Baburao of INC by scoring 177,810 more seats. In 2014 assembly elections, Satyajeet Babasaheb Patil (Aba) Sarudkar of SHS scored 388 more votes than the runner up Kore Vinay Vilasrao (Savakar) of JSS and won the Shahuwadi seat. The winner of the Hatkanangle (SC) seat is Dr. Minchekar Sujit Vasantrao of SHS who got 29370 votes more than Awale Jaywant Gangaram. From the Ichalkaranji constituency, BJP’s Suresh Ganpati Halvankar won INC’s Awade Prakash Kallappa with a merit margin of 15255 votes. From the Shirol seat, Patil Ulhas Sambhaji of SHS won the NCP candidate Rajendra Shamgonda Patil (Yadravkar) by getting 20033 votes in excess. The winner of Islampur seat was Jayant Rajaram Patil of NCP who scored 75186 votes more than Abhijit Shivajirao Patil of IND. From Shirala seat, Naik Shivajirao Yashwantrao of the BJP won by overtaking the NCP candidate Mansingh Fattesingh Naik with 3668 votes more.

The six assembly constituencies located within the Chandrapur Lok Sabha seat include Rajura, Chandrapur, Ballarpur, Warora, Wani, and Arni. Chandrapur seat is reserved for SC candidates and Arni seat is earmarked for ST contestants. For the upcoming 2019 elections for Vidhan Sabha, From the Rajora seat Subhash R Dhote of INC will take on Sanjay Dhote of BJP. From the Chandrapur seat, BJP is fielding Nana Shyamkule. BJP is fielding Vishwas Anandrao Zede against the Congress candidate Sudhir Mungantiwar from Ballarpur seat. Partibha Suresh Dhanorkar will fight for Congress from Warora. The Maharashtra assembly seats will go for polling on October 21, 2019 and the counting will happen on October 24, 2019. In the Parliamentary elections 2019, Ahir Hansraj Gangaram, the BJP candidate secured 236,269 votes more than the runner up Deotale Sanjay Wamanrao who represented the INC. The 2014 election results for these assembly constituencies are as follows. From the Rajura constituency, Sanjay Yadaorao Dhote of the BJP got 2278 votes more than Dhote Subhash Ramchandrrao of INC and became the MLA. From the Chandrapur (SC) seat, Shamkule Nanaji Sitaram of BJP won Kishor Gajananrao Jorgewar of SHS with a margin of 30772 votes. The winner from the Ballarpur seat was Mungantiwar Sudhir Sachhidanand who secured 43600 more votes than INC’s Mulchandani Ghanshyam Khushimal. From the Warora constituency, Suresh Alias Balubhau Narayan Dhanorkar of SHS got 2004 votes more than Sanjay Wamanrao Deotale of the BJP and became the MLA. The winner from the Wani seat was Bodkurwar Sanjivreddi Bapurao who got a margin of 5606 votes than the SHS candidate Nandekar Vishvas Ramchandra. From the Arni constituency, Raju Narayan Todsam of BJP got 20721 seats more than Moghe Shivajirao Shivramaji of the Congress Party and won the seat.
