<br /> <keyword id="3148257" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Pocketin">Pocketin</keyword>, a four-month old startup has raised its seed round of 150,000 USD from Hong Kong based <keyword id="3148365" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Swastika-Company">Swastika Company</keyword> Ltd and aims to consolidate the eating-out space in the national capital.<br />

Pocketin provides a technology platform for diners to discover, compare, and choose where they want to head out next based on real time deals offered, events happening around the diner, or pertaining to specific activity the diner might have in mind (group packages, buffets, etc.).<br />
<br />
It is the first ever platform in India which has given the restaurants the power to incentivize each diner differently depending upon the diner’s specifics and also the current business situation. Its revolutionary Autopilot technology, helps push curated deals to respective diners in the absence of the merchant on the platform. This way Pocketin ensures that the user gets the real time sourced deal from all the merchants within five minutes as a guarantee.<br />

This seed round will be utilized to expand across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon. It will also help in building the core team and strengthen the core product offering.<br />

Pocketin was launched in September 2015 by Kshitij Mehra (DCE Alumnus), Anirudh Mondal (Thapar Alumnus, ex-Practo), Rahul Arora (DCE Alumnus), Siddharth Sharma (SIMC Alumnus, ex- Foxymoron) and Akshay Utreja. The venture was born out of weekly discussions on where to head next and the pain point of discovering better deals around them.<br />

“We aim to create a platform which not only helps people discover new restaurants but also make their experience pocket friendly by offering them the best possible deals/discounts through our unique Real Time deal discovery and comparison engine. We also understand that for a diner, along with the price, convenience matters a lot which is why we have a dedicated operations workforce which ensures that every customer has a delightful and hassle free table reservation and deal redemption experience at the restaurant” says Kshitij Mehra, CEO at Pocketin.<br />

Pocketin has grown organically in the last four months and mostly the growth has been driven by word-of-mouth referrals. With a very limited spend on marketing, the company has been able to drive more than 8000 downloads and seated more than 6500 diners. Pocketin aims to partner with more than 1200 restaurants in Delhi NCR in the next six months and seat more than 1 lakh diners. It has plans to expand operations to Mumbai, Bangalore and Dubai in the next phase. With a current team size of 15, Pocketin looks to double its team in the coming months.<br />

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Makeup brand ColourPop teased their "Harry Potter" collaboration on September 2.</li><li>The collab includes eyeliners, lipsticks, highlighters, and eyeshadow palettes inspired by the books.</li></ul><p>Makeup and beauty influencers are criticizing makeup brand ColourPop after it announced a collaboration with children's book franchise "Harry Potter," whose author <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/brands-distancing-from-dave-chappelle-and-jk-rowling-transphobic-remarks-2022-7">J.K. Rowling has come under fire</a> in recent years for making transphobic comments. </p><p>The collection features eyeshadow palettes, eyeliners, highlighters, and lipsticks all inspired by the popular book series. Individual eyeshadow shades include "Dementor," "Slytherin," "Patronus," and other references that will be familiar to fans of "Harry Potter."</p><p>ColourPop launched the collection <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/CiQO9UCMoHu/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link">on September 8</a> amid widespread disapproval from beauty influencers. </p><p><a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@chrissychlapecka?lang=en">TikTok star Chrissy Chlapecka</a>, who has over five million followers, wrote that she was "disappointed" by the collection, a perspective that was echoed by makeup influencer Vanessa Funes. Fumes, whose known as <a href="https://www.instagram.com/cutcreaser/">@cutcreaser</a> to her more than 300,000 Instagram followers, has often featured ColourPop products in her posts in the past. </p><p>"Very disappointed if yall are partnering with the harry potter license/franchise/IP - as it directly funds a very well known transphobe," she wrote on the <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ch_DDlqL3mj/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link">brand's announcement</a>. </p><p>Lilly Teel, a trans makeup artist with <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@lillyteel">over 100,000 followers on TikTok</a>, said she would no longer use ColourPop over its "Harry Potter" partnership. <a href="https://twitter.com/lillymuateel/status/1567596134516015104?s=20&amp;t=3tJ9UdwaFc3M_InR_RQtXA">On her Twitter account</a>, she wrote, "Bye ColourPop. Won't be using you anymore."</p><p>She told <a href="https://www.glossy.co/beauty/colourpop-faces-backlash-for-harry-potter-collab-due-to-j-k-rowling/">beauty and fashion publication Glossy</a> that she felt "betrayed" by the brand, adding that its collaboration with a franchise that has been linked to transphobia made her feel like ColourPop's support for the LGBTQ+ community was simply a "marketing tool."</p><p>Teel added that the "beauty community" is a "safe space to many LGBTQ people," which is why she felt compelled to speak out about the collection.</p><p>Rowling <a href="https://www.glamour.com/story/a-complete-breakdown-of-the-jk-rowling-transgender-comments-controversy">initially came under fire</a> in June 2020 for her tweets about the transgender community, as well as <a href="https://www.jkrowling.com/opinions/j-k-rowling-writes-about-her-reasons-for-speaking-out-on-sex-and-gender-issues/">a lengthy op-ed on her website</a>, in which she outlined her reasons for "being worried about the new trans activism" and called trans identity a "social contagion." She wrote that people were opening "doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he's a woman" and "offering cover to predators."</p><p>She received backlash from trans activists and "Harry Potter" fans. Her comments also led to <a href="https://ew.com/movies/every-harry-potter-actor-whos-spoken-out-against-j-k-rowlings-controversial-transgender-comments/">"Harry Potter" actors</a> Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Eddie Redmayne speaking out in support of trans people. </p><p>ColourPop did not directly address the "Potter" controversy, but in an <a href="https://twitter.com/lillymuateel/status/1567597048995913728">Instagram Story on September 7</a> the brand said it would be donating to a group of LGBTQ-inclusive non-profits in observance of Suicide Awareness Month.</p><p>ColourPop wrote, "It is our continued commitment at ColourPop to always foster a community of acceptance, love, inclusivity, and support."</p><div type="image" title="ColourPop Instagram story" height="1450" width="810" msid="94183865" hostid="261"></div><p>But the gesture didn't convince everyone.</p><p>Beauty blogger Christine Mielke, who <a href="https://www.temptalia.com/colourpop-x-harry-potter-collection-yer-a-disappointment-colourpop/">runs the blog Temptalia</a> and has over <a href="https://www.instagram.com/temptalia/?hl=en">200,000 Instagram followers</a>, wrote a post about the collaboration and criticized ColourPop's response as "a fluffy bit of nothing."</p><p>Mielke also said she would not be reviewing the collection and donated the "all commission" earned from her affiliate codes on the ColourPop x "Harry Potter" collection to The Trevor Project. </p><p>A spokesperson for <a href="https://www.glossy.co/beauty/colourpop-faces-backlash-for-harry-potter-collab-due-to-j-k-rowling/">ColourPop told Glossy</a> that they "deeply care about the LGBTQIA+ community" and that the collaboration was "requested (almost weekly!) for many years." They added that the partnership had been in the works for over two years. </p><p>"We didn't know what would happen in the world, and on Twitter, between the day we began investing in this collection and today. Two other victims remain unidentified. Six of the victims died at the scene, while two died of their injuries in hospital, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/31/nyregion/police-shooting-lower-manhattan.html">The New York Times reported</a>.</p><p>The five Argentinians were friends from Rosario, a port city in northern Argentina, <a href="https://twitter.com/CancilleriaARG/status/925541357409787904">the country's foreign ministry said</a>. They were in New York City to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their high school graduation from Rosario's Polytechnic School.</p><p><a href="https://twitter.com/CancilleriaARG/status/925541357409787904"></a>Here's what we know about the victims of the attack:</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><h2><strong>Ariel Erlij</strong></h2><p>Ariel Erlij, 48, was one of the five Argentinians killed.</p><p>He was the owner of Ivanar, a steel company in Rosario, <a href="http://www.lanacion.com.ar/2078222-quienes-eran-las-cinco-victimas-argentinas-del-ataque-terrorista-en-nueva-york">according to Argentine newspaper La Nación</a>. He was married, had at least two children, and was a fan of the Rosario Central football club, <a href="http://www.diariolaprovinciasj.com/elmundo/2017/11/1/confirmaron-argentinos-muertos-manhattan-difundieron-identidades-78200.html">Argentinian news agency Télam reported</a>.</p><p>He encouraged the reunion trip and helped pay for some of his friends' tickets to New York, <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/nov/01/victims-of-new-york-truck-attack-manhattan">The Guardian said</a>. The group had rented bicycles and walked around lower Manhattan when they were hit, <a href="http://www.lanacion.com.ar/2078153-la-imagen-del-grupo-de-amigos-de-rosario-antes-de-viajar-a-nueva-york?utm_term=Autofeed&amp;utm_campaign=Echobox&amp;utm_medium=Echobox&amp;utm_source=Twitter#link_time=1509500814">La Nación said</a>.</p><p>Four other members of the group of ten managed to escape the scene unharmed and have already communicated with their families, <a href="https://www.clarin.com/mundo/argentinos-muertos-ataque-nueva-york-ido-festejar-aniversario-egresados_0_SJJ1scIAb.html">Argentinian newspaper Clarín reported</a>.</p><p>A sixth friend, Martín Ludovico Marro, was recovering from his injuries at Manhattan's Presbyterian Hospital, the Argentinian Foreign Ministry said.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><h2><strong>Alejandro Damián Pagnucco</strong></h2><p>Pagnucco, also known as "Picho," lived in Funes, a city near Rosario, La Nación reported.</p><p>He graduated from the National University of Rosario, his hometown, and worked for design company Barujel Azulay and construction conglomerate the Brayco Group, according to Télam.</p><p>Below is a group photo taken before their trip, obtained by Argentinian newspaper La Nacion. Alejandro Pagnucco and Erlij are on the second and third from left respectively.</p><h2><strong>Hernán Ferruchi, Diego Enrique Angelini, and Hernán Diego Mendoza</strong></h2><p>These were the three other Argentinians named by the country's foreign ministry.</p><p>Ferruchi, pictured above, was an architect in Rosario, La Nación reported. Like Pagnucci, he studied at the National University of Rosario. Little is known yet about Diego Enrique Angelini, and Hernán Diego Mendoza.</p><p>The municipality of Rosario - where the friends grew up - has <a href="http://www.rosarionoticias.gob.ar/page/noticias/id/109761/title/Atentado-en-EE.UU%3A-la-Municipalidad-decret%C3%B3-tres-d%C3%ADas-de-duelo">declared three days of mourning.</a></p><h2><strong>Woman from Belgium, 31</strong></h2><p>A 31-year-old Belgian woman was caught up in the attack, Didier Reynders, Belgium's deputy prime minister and foreign affairs minister, <a href="https://www.hln.be/nieuws/buitenland/belgische-omgekomen-bij-terreuraanslag-manhattan-drie-belgische-gewonden~a8d477686/">told Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws</a>.</p><p>The woman, who was from Staden, a village in western Flanders. She was in the city with her mother and two sisters, Reynders said. Staden has lowered its flags to half-mast, HLN added.</p><p>"It's so unreal that this can happen," Staden Mayor Francesco Vanderjeugd said. "A few days ago, I sent a text to one of the sisters when I saw on social media that she was in the United States.
