Tesla cut prices on its Model 3 and Model Y in the US, working to entice more buyers in an increasingly competitive market. Among the moves, pricing on the company's website showed a $3,000 cut in the <a href="https://www.tesla.com/modely/design#overview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Model Y All-Wheel Drive to $46,990</a>. Shares of Tesla fell 2.9% in premarket trade, but had pared that loss to less than 1% by around midday Wednesday. The Model Y Long Range model was reduced to $49,990 from $52,990 and the Performance model went to $53,990 from $56,990. Tesla's Model 3 Standard Range Rear-Wheel Drive now has a price tag below $40,000 – at $39,990 versus $41,990. The <a href="https://fueleconomy.gov/feg/tax2023.shtml" target="_blank" rel="noopener">federal tax incentive</a> on the Standard Range RWD was cut to $3,750 under new guidance this week from the US Treasury Department, but other Tesla models were still eligible for the full $7,500 credit. Tesla investors late Wednesday will watch the company's margins following this year's price cuts. The company is expected to post revenue of $23.73 billion for the first quarter, according to a FactSet poll of analysts. That would represent a 26% increase from the same period a year ago but a decline from $24.32 billion in the fourth quarter of 2022. Barack Obama as their party's first Black presidential nominee.With Obama's tenure in the White House overlapping with much of Haley's tenure in the Palmetto State, she sought to contrast her conservatism with policies at the national level, seeking to lure businesses to the state and fighting <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2014/02/20/no-south-carolina-union-jobs/5642031/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">against</a> labor unions.But she left the governor's mansion in January 2017 to assume her ambassadorship at a time when Trump was starting to assume control over larger parts of the party from his perch in the Oval Office. Both lost their respective races. While most political observers predicted that Democrats would likely endure substantial losses in the midterms due to historical precedent, the party in the end held the Senate, minimized major losses in the House, and won gubernatorial contests in the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/battleground-states-2024-presidential-election-road-white-house-2022-12">key swing states</a> of Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.Haley, meanwhile, is trying to leave 2020 in the past. She has tried to pitch her campaign as one rooted instead in the future, focusing heavily on the economy and railing against the state of the country's finances.Such a message could potentially boost the GOP in the suburbs.Under Trump — in both 2018 and 2020, for example — the GOP struggled with suburban voters, and Haley's vision for the future seeks to offer a clear break from those losses. Only 43% followers want him as Twitter CEO, a job that has created all sorts of problems for him. <keyword id="364027" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="musk" source="Orion">Musk</keyword> started a poll asking users if he should quit as Twitter head and also assured that he will abide by the poll results. "Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll," said the Tesla CEO. A user commented, "Yep, he already has the new CEO picked out. Elon will retire as Chairman of the Board and Tweeter." To this, Musk replied: "No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor." Last month, Musk had said that he does not want to be the CEO of any company, be it Tesla or Twitter. He made the comment during testimony at a trial in the US, challenging his controversial pay compensation package at Tesla, and said that he does not wish to remain CEO of Twitter forever which he acquired in October. Musk is also aiming to get more investors for Twitter at the original $54.20 per share price, at which he acquired the company for $44 billion. Since November 2021, Musk has sold more than $39 billion of Tesla shares.
