<ul><li><keyword id="1600133" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fractal" source="Orion">Fractal</keyword> offers artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics solutions to several Fortune 500 firms in the world.</li><li>TPG’s Puneet Bhatia and Vivek Mohan will join <keyword id="1717806" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fractal-analytics" source="Orion">Fractal Analytics</keyword>’ board of directors.</li><li>The company has raised $685 million in fundraise to date.</li></ul>Mumbai and San Francisco-based Fractal has raised $360 million in funding from private equity investors TPG. The investment would be made through TPG’s Asia-focused private equity platform TPG Capital Asia. The 21-year-old company has been valued at over $1 billion after this round, the company’s cofounder and group chief executive (CEO) Srikanth Velamakanni, said. The company has raised $685 million in fundraise to date. The transaction is expected to close by the first quarter of 2022, and includes both primary as well as secondary share purchases. TPG’s Puneet Bhatia and Vivek Mohan will join Fractal Analytics's board of directors. The company’s board currently includes Salesforce’s Gavin Patterson, Apax Partners Rohan Haldea, Apax Partners Shashank Singh and Kae Capital Gulu Mirchandani. It was founded by Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad graduates Velamakanni, Pranay Agrawal, Nirmal Palaparthi, Pradeep Suryanarayan and Ramakrishna Reddy. Fractal offers artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics solutions — such as marketing analytics, forecasting, pricing and promotion optimisation services and consumer insights — to several Fortune 500 firms in the world, which typically have a revenue of $10 billion. The company claims to earn $100 million in annual revenue. The company’s offering includes smart radiology solution <keyword id="6327028" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="qure-ai" source="Orion">Qure.ai</keyword>, investment aid Theremin.ai and data analytics platform Eugenie.ai, revenue growth management company <keyword id="12887249" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="samya-ai" source="Orion">Samya.ai</keyword> and customer management company Senseforth.ai. "We continue to see great momentum in how clients are leveraging AI to accelerate digital transformation. Fractal is building a great workplace and an innovative culture that's driving significant client outcomes through our ‘user focused, decision-backwards’ approach to solving problems," said Srikanth Velamakanni, cofounder, group chief executive officer, Fractal Analytics. The company has raised $180 million in a funding round led by KKR &amp; Co. Swedish retail Ikea, along with the company’s existing backers like Jungle Ventures, Venturi Partners and Peugeot, also invested in this round. Overall, the company has raised nearly half a billion to date. The company plans to use this capital to double down on international expansion and take on local competitors like HomeLane, Stokers, At Home Group, Pepperfry and American Furniture Warehouse. "Our business is growing exponentially in both India and Singapore, and we aim to replicate this playbook, launch new solutions and accelerate our launches across new markets with operations across APAC, MENA and Australia,” Anuj Srivastava, cofounder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Livspace, said in a statement. Reliance investor KKR, Ikea and others turn Livspace into a unicorn

<ul><li>Fourteen Indian companies turned <keyword id="152045" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="unicorn" source="Orion">unicorn</keyword> between January and June 1, 2022.</li><li>Forty four companies hit this milestone throughout 2021.</li><li>India currently ranks third in overall unicorns created, with the USA taking a lead.</li></ul>The Indian startup valuations have taken a hit since April this year. Yet India has still managed to create more unicorns in the first five months of 2022 compared to the year before. According to a recent report by market intelligence provider Tracxn, 14 Indian companies turned unicorns — companies valued over a billion dollars — between January and June 1, 2022. Last year, the number stood at 13 during the same time frame. Notably, 2021 was the best year for Indian startups especially in terms of unicorn creation. Forty four companies hit this milestone in 2021, representing a four-fold increase from the 11 unicorns created in 2020. India currently ranks third in overall unicorns created, with the US taking the lead. India created 14 unicorns in the first half of 2022 — before funding slowdown hit them

Indian startups raised around $1 billion a week in January and February

The company raised $153 million from WestBridge Capital in a Series C round. A unicorn, in startup parlance, is a company valued at over a billion dollars. “With this financing, we will double down on growth investments in India and North America, start building in APAC [Asia-Pacific] and EMEA [Europe, the Middle East and Africa], add new offerings to our product portfolio, and fund acquisitions. To support our growth, we plan to double our headcount in the next 18 months,” Nilesh Patel, CEO and Founder of LeadSquared, said. LeadSquared is the sixth Indian startup to enter this elite club this year and the sixteenth startup to do so overall. The list also includes MuSigma, Druva, Icertis, Postman, Zenoti and now publicly-listed company Freshworks. Sridhar Vembu-led Zoho Corp is not a part of India’s unicorn list as the company is still bootstrapped and has not disclosed its valuation publicly. A unicorn, in startup parlance, is a company valued at or over $1 billion. The <keyword id="12313083" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hr-tech-platform" source="Orion">HR Tech platform</keyword> has raised $72 million in a Series D funding round led by Netflix-backer Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV). Salesforce Ventures, Sequoia India, Lightspeed India, Endiya Partners, 3One4 Capital, JGDEV and SCD 10X participated in the round. Though Darwinbox has not revealed their valuation, the company has confirmed that it has crossed over a billion dollars. The company has raised close to $200 million since its inception six years ago. The company was founded in 2015 by Chaitanya Peddi, Jayant Paleti and Rohit Chennamaneni. It offers automation of employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, attendance, expense management, payroll, employee engagement, performance management and people analytics. It counts MakeMyTrip, Swiggy and Adani Group firms as its clients. Darwinbox plans to use this capital to double down on its global expansion and further accelerate its product development plans.
