The investment would be made through TPG’s Asia-focused private equity platform TPG Capital Asia. The 21-year-old company has been valued at over $1 billion after this round, the company’s cofounder and group chief executive (CEO) Srikanth Velamakanni, said. The company has raised $685 million in fundraise to date. The transaction is expected to close by the first quarter of 2022, and includes both primary as well as secondary share purchases. TPG’s Puneet Bhatia and Vivek Mohan will join Fractal Analytics's board of directors. The company’s board currently includes Salesforce’s Gavin Patterson, Apax Partners Rohan Haldea, Apax Partners Shashank Singh and Kae Capital Gulu Mirchandani. It was founded by Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad graduates Velamakanni, Pranay Agrawal, Nirmal Palaparthi, Pradeep Suryanarayan and Ramakrishna Reddy. Fractal offers artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics solutions — such as marketing analytics, forecasting, pricing and promotion optimisation services and consumer insights — to several Fortune 500 firms in the world, which typically have a revenue of $10 billion. The company claims to earn $100 million in annual revenue. The company’s offering includes smart radiology solution <keyword id="6327028" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="qure-ai" source="Orion">Qure.ai</keyword>, investment aid Theremin.ai and data analytics platform Eugenie.ai, revenue growth management company <keyword id="12887249" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="samya-ai" source="Orion">Samya.ai</keyword> and customer management company Senseforth.ai. "We continue to see great momentum in how clients are leveraging AI to accelerate digital transformation. It's a cruel summer for Airbnb and Vrbo hosts, and meh listings are getting squeezed hard

The company has raised $180 million in a funding round led by KKR &amp; Co. Swedish retail Ikea, along with the company’s existing backers like Jungle Ventures, Venturi Partners and Peugeot, also invested in this round. Overall, the company has raised nearly half a billion to date. The company plans to use this capital to double down on international expansion and take on local competitors like HomeLane, Stokers, At Home Group, Pepperfry and American Furniture Warehouse. "Our business is growing exponentially in both India and Singapore, and we aim to replicate this playbook, launch new solutions and accelerate our launches across new markets with operations across APAC, MENA and Australia,” Anuj Srivastava, cofounder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Livspace, said in a statement. So far, four Indian startups have turned into a unicorn in 2022. Reliance investor KKR, Ikea and others turn Livspace into a unicorn

A unicorn, in startup parlance, is a company valued at or over $1 billion. The <keyword id="12313083" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hr-tech-platform" source="Orion">HR Tech platform</keyword> has raised $72 million in a Series D funding round led by Netflix-backer Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV). Salesforce Ventures, Sequoia India, Lightspeed India, Endiya Partners, 3One4 Capital, JGDEV and SCD 10X participated in the round. Though Darwinbox has not revealed their valuation, the company has confirmed that it has crossed over a billion dollars. The company has raised close to $200 million since its inception six years ago. The company was founded in 2015 by Chaitanya Peddi, Jayant Paleti and Rohit Chennamaneni. It offers automation of employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, attendance, expense management, payroll, employee engagement, performance management and people analytics. It counts MakeMyTrip, Swiggy and Adani Group firms as its clients. Darwinbox plans to use this capital to double down on its global expansion and further accelerate its product development plans. Darwinbox, which helps Adani Group with its HR needs, is the third unicorn of 2022

<ul><li><keyword id="6327028" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="qure-ai" source="Orion">Qure.ai</keyword> has raised $40 million in a round led by Novo Holdings and HealthQuad.</li><li>It will use the latest funding to further strengthen its global reach.</li><li>It reads a patient's X-rays and other scans to detect brain trauma and diagnoses chest diseases.</li></ul>Healthtech startup Qure.ai — a company that uses artificial intelligence for medical image diagnostics — has raised $40 million in a funding round led by Novo Holdings and HealthQuad. MassMutual Ventures also participated in this round. The company will use the latest funding to further strengthen its global reach, especially in the United States of America (USA) and Europe. The company also wants to further intensify product development for critical care and community diagnostics. Founded by Prashant Warrier and Dr. Pooja Rao in 2016, Qure.ai has developed a technology that reads a patient's X-rays and other scans to detect brain trauma and diagnoses chest diseases. The company had also implemented the same technology to detect COVID-19. The company believes that its automated medical imaging tools can shorten the time to diagnosis, while enabling physicians to manage medical cases more effectively. The company had also implemented the<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/a-small-hospital-assam-is-using-ai-to-detect-strokes-in-tea-planters/articleshow/84194042.cms"> same technology in a small hospital in the Tezpur town </a>of Assam to detect strokes and concussions in the region. Strokes are one of the <a href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/health/haemorrhagic-stroke-rate-highest-in-india-s-northeastern-states/story-2A4TFEVpDvE34HAgqMaDLP.html">major causes</a> of death in the Assamese region. About 150 people are affected by strokes in Assam every day and 54,890 on a yearly basis, according to a <a href="https://www.sentinelassam.com/guwahati-city/stroke-affects-54890-every-year-in-assam-gnrc/">study</a> released by a local hospital GNRC in 2018. The company’s chief exec (CEO) Warrier explained that there are two parts to their artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled deep learning solution — the gateway and the application programming interface (API). The gateway are the x-ray machines, the computed tomography (CT) scan machines, ultrasound machines and others that collect the inputs from the healthcare centres and transfer it to the cloud. The API, then, scans, processes and creates a radiology report based on their algorithm. The report is then sent to the patients and the doctors directly. Notably, the company anonymises all the data before sending it from gateway to API to maintain users’ privacy. Qure's AI solutions are FDA-approved, CE-certified, and evaluated by the World Health Organization (WHO). "Every year our technology helps more than four million people across 50 countries. Our goal is to continue being bullish in our market expansion, especially in the US and Europe. We are committed to aiding healthcare professionals in diagnosing illnesses faster and with more detail and accuracy while automating most of the routine work,” Warrier said in a statement. Qure.ai has raised over $60 million to date, according to business intelligence platform Crunchbase. It counts Sequoia Capital India, MassMutual Ventures and Fractal Analytics as investors. Qure.ai raises $40 million to expand its presence in US and Europe

From inflation to overstock to over-hiring, the world's largest employer has been on its heels throughout 2022 after riding nearly two years of a pandemic high."A cut of 200 roles is not material in the context of a giant employer like Walmart," John Zolidis, the president of Quo Vadis Capital, told Insider. "However, the action does not send a feel-good message about the business. It also does not suggest a doubling-down on the kind of incremental investment necessary to build capacities and drive growth." As the largest brick-and-mortar retailer in the United States, Walmart holds significant influence in the industry. It appears that the Arkansas-based retailer is not alone in its current struggles. Coming with a plug and play option, Karnataka government can choose the features it wants to use and can also integrate the solution with its existing platform. It can be hosted on any cloud platform as preferred by the government. Multiple IT players have collaborated for free to build the platform whose initial set of dashboards will be offered to the government. Six dashboards have been developed for the southern state which include Covid summary, Covid source analysis, testing summary, tests by category, hospital capacity and India summary. Nasscom Task Force consists of Intel India, Fractal Analytics, Microsoft India, AWS, Mindtree, SAP Labs India, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Sprinklr, Tableau, Mapbox and others. Why are businesses not sought in a similar fashion? The developments in the business do not happen every day but over several days, months and even years. It largely depends on the market it operates in, the strategy the company adopts to tackle competition and the tactics the company deploys to increase earnings year after year. 
 You have to understand that the company’s value is dependent only and only on fundamentals of the underlying business. The company’s brands, business model, product innovation and management abilities together decide the value of the company. There is no other factor which influences the value of the business, not the temporary swings of currency, crude oil and <keyword id="6391506" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Equity">equity</keyword> markets. As the legendary investor Peter Lynch once put it: “If you spend more than 15 minutes a year worrying about where the stock markets are going, you’ve wasted 12 minutes.” 
 
Never get influenced by the daily buy-and-sell calls given by the brokerages. Brokerages earn revenues from your trading. Do you think they send out these calls solely for our benefit? Definitely not.

So, effectively you should monitor the developments in the industry and strategies of the companies to win over their peers. 
 
You should consider learning more about upcoming industries, new business models and emerging marketplaces. For example, will the eCommerce sites like Flipkart and Amazon change the course of doing business by diverting people to buy online, turning brick-and-mortar business obsolete? Or say businesses like Fractal Analytics going to change how the knowledge processing industry works. Ultimately these things are going to help you generate new ideas, which will add to your corpus someday. 
 
The key to making money in the markets is simple. Be patient and stay invested for long till the full potential of the company is realized. Or else you stand to miss out opportunities of becoming wealthy by moving in and out of the stocks.
