<ul class="summary-list"><li>Every school year, I came out to my college students and was usually accepted.</li><li>But coming out was mentally taxing, so I'm not coming out to my students this year.</li></ul>My voice trembled, and my heart pounded as I stood before the class of about 30 <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/college-student-studying-abroad-classmates-taking-luxury-trips-2024-4">college students</a> on the first day of English Composition 101."I didn't get to read many LGBTQ+ authors growing up," I said. Then, taking a deep breath, I took the plunge: "As a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/straight-passing-woman-come-out-all-the-time-2024-7">queer person</a> myself, I believe we need to see ourselves represented in books."When I taught 18-year-old <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/college-move-tasks-parents-forgetting-to-do-2024-8">college freshmen</a>, it felt like jumping off a cliff every time I came out to a new class — usually on the first day. I loved introducing the students to the acclaimed queer authors who helped me feel comfortable in my own skin when I was a teenager.The authors' names — Michael Cunningham, Virginia Woolf, Dorothy Allison, and Alice Walker — are still sacred to me today.But now, I'm no longer coming out to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-shop-for-back-to-school-without-spending-tons-2024-8">my students</a> and still prioritizing their education.<h2 id="a9aea97e-a5a4-4d4f-829a-d00e4708f833">I felt freer as a queer educator, but it came at a price</h2>It was the early 2000s, and in many ways, it was a more welcoming environment for <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/florida-teachers-advised-against-talking-about-same-sex-partners-report-2022-8">LGBTQ+ teachers</a>.Still, when I taught college in New York state, queer teachers' freedom was new and fragile. <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/colleges-pay-best-for-their-cost-return-on-investment-roi-2023-4">Colleges and universities</a> have always tended to be more open for queer teachers than K-12 schools, but I was still scared to come out as an untenured teacher working with teens — many of whom were religious. There was always fear that I'd be punished for announcing who I am.Thankfully, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/refuse-come-out-family-friends-2024-8">coming out</a> was almost always positive. Students smiled or seemed immediately more relaxed. Only one or two tensed up or looked away, seeming uncomfortable. No one ever got up and left the room.After coming out each semester, I'd move on with my lesson, feeling vulnerable, relieved, and lighter.<h2 id="ea9fc80a-555b-43f6-821e-e8b118a06aa1">I no longer make coming-out announcements</h2>These days, I'm more comfortable in my skin as a queer person, so I don't feel the need to make a formal declaration at work anymore. The fear of retaliation takes too much out of me.But I still ensure my space is <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/banking/lgbtq-friendly-banking">queer-friendly</a>.Currently, I'm a school librarian serving elementary and middle school. Even among the youngest of students, I regularly encounter kids identifying as queer or trans. Some students even have <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/leaning-into-my-queer-identity-changed-the-way-i-parent-2022-10">LGBTQ+ parents</a>. So, I still need to create a welcoming environment.My storytime and research lessons emphasize the acceptance of gender diversity. The stories also depict that love can take many shapes and forms. These lessons are also important for students with nontraditional family structures — such as those raised by a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/single-parent-loneliness-no-partner-202404">single parent</a> or living with grandparents.We read cute, silly, and wise picture books such as "Worm Love Worm" by J. J. Austrian and Mike Curato, where the characters are <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/nonbinary-fashion-gender-neutral-unisex-clothes-accessories-to-add-to-wardrobe-2023">gender-neutral</a>. In June, I showcase books like "Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Gay Pride Flag" by Rob Sanders and Steven Salerno. Throughout the month, I proudly showcase my progress pride flag in the middle school library and happily explain the symbolism of all the colors and patterns.Queer people are woven into the fabric of my teaching, but I've just chosen not to share who I am anymore to protect my own mental health.<h2 id="477a4732-ae33-4357-8c08-5dcc9f44dc91">Being an LGBTQ-inclusive teacher can save lives</h2>In 2022, the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.thetrevorproject.org/survey-2022/">Trevor Project </a>found that 45% of LGBTQ+ youth considered suicide in the last year. I feel responsible as an educator to help students grow and thrive — and not feel invisible or ashamed.This September, I will proudly display a copy of my favorite gender-expansive book, "Teo's Tutu" by Maryann Jacob Macia. And when a student asks me what the book is about, I'll say, "It's about learning to be happy in your own skin."I'll invite the students to reflect and connect. "What does being comfortable in your own skin mean to you?"When I started teaching, it felt great to say, "<a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/struggled-sexuality-college-queer-lgbtq-2023-6">I am queer</a>," out loud. But these days, I celebrate my queerness in my personal life and conserve my energy while I'm at school.

As an educator, I used to come out to my students every September. But I'm keeping my identity to myself this year.

Its clients include Microsoft, education institutions such as the University of Alberta, and healthcare companies like Medtronic.Business Insider spoke with Treeview's founder, Horacio Torrendell, to learn more about how business and enterprise clients are leveraging AR and VR hardware for XR applications.The following has been edited for length and clarity.How'd you get into this line of work?Treeview started around 2015 when I got an Oculus DK2 for university. I began doing freelance work with the hardware when there were very few VR developers in South America. I found some clients, started growing, and started to build a team. We did a lot of work with startups from 2017 to 2020. Now we're focusing on enterprise clients.What's your take on the arc of the AR/VR industry's journey so far?I see it more as steps than an arc. It's all generation-based, with new hardware opening up new use cases.We started with PC VR for tinkering and exploration, then mobile VR like Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard. Next came stand-alone VR and mobile AR, where we did a lot of work with startups on projects similar to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/5g-help-retailers-shopping-augmented-reality-2019-8">Ikea Place</a> and construction tools. Now we're entering the mixed-reality generation with <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/using-apple-vision-pro-for-the-day-productivity-2024-2">Vision Pro</a> and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/meta-virtual-reality">Meta Quest</a>.Each step brings initial confusion as people figure out how to use the new technology, so I think of it as a staircase. Every time there's a new step up, there's a period of adjustment. We're at the start of the mixed-reality generation, and people are still figuring out what they can do with it. I expect we'll see much more mature use cases in the next year or two as the current technology paradigm settles.What kind of problems are companies coming to you with now?Our main focus for the last three years has been training and education. There's a huge demand in this area, but it's challenging to scale because building a high-quality training simulator requires a lot of effort.We're excited about the emerging trend of merging AI with XR. Currently, AI is primarily a back-end, server-side concept that people interact with through text prompting. What's really interesting now is exploring how we can interact with AI through different computing interfaces, particularly immersive ones.Can you help me visualize how AI is being integrated into a training experience?One project we're working on with Microsoft is part of what they call the industrial metaverse. It's mainly around <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-digital-twin-technology-can-transform-archeological-research-2024-8">digital twins</a>, which are digital replicas of physical locations with data overlaid onto that information. We're working on one of the largest <a target="_blank" href="https://treeview.studio/digitaltwin">renewable-energy-production sites in Uruguay</a>.We have a bunch of data and a real-life location, and we want to interact with that data. The way we're thinking of this is, how do you query that information? We have data that doesn't make sense without the context of the location, which is this actual wind farm.Previously, you might filter that information by time stamps or ask specific questions with a predefined user interface. But we're exploring how to have a conversation with that data through an AI model that's trained on top of that data and large language models.It's opening the possibility of having a conversation with a computer about a piece of content that is a physical representation of a physical place with data on top of that place.<div type="image" title="Horacio Torrendell wears virtual-reality glasses while showcasing a digital-twin simulation of wind farms in Uruguay" height="724" width="1086" msid="112689893" hostid="261" sizebytes="52052"></div>What sort of hardware platforms do you target on a project like this?This project targets Microsoft HoloLens 2, mobile with AR capabilities, and the standard web. We have to remember that XR is just one component in a larger set of software solutions. It's crucial to vertically integrate these technologies based on how you're interacting with the data.Having stakeholders around a table with HoloLens, discussing data on-site in a real environment, would be the highest tier of experience. But there's still value in having a website with a 3D model that you can browse and interact with through chat prompts.Let's zoom out a bit and talk about your workflow when starting a new project. How do you begin to scope out what a project is going to be?We call that the discovery phase. It's about trying to understand what the client or the use case is about, not just receiving a list of requirements. It's a brainstorm that we have with clients.For many of these corporations, there's value in deploying a solution. But there's also a lot of value in the innovation approach, in knowing exactly what's going on with this technology, exploring it, and doing some internal tinkering.What's the scale of what you're normally building in terms of distribution?With business-to-business projects, there is not a massive distribution. There are specific use cases and internal tools rather than customer-facing applications. However, we do have some clients, especially on the startup side, who have done more massive rollouts.For context, we recently launched a free educational app for Apple Vision Pro. The project is called <a target="_blank" href="https://apps.apple.com/us/app/inviewer/id6479699008">Inviewer</a>, and it's like a Wikipedia of interactive spatial content. This app is featured in the education category of the app store, which is pretty cool. After four weeks, it had about 2,600 users.Are companies looking to hit certain metrics, like reducing time or improving knowledge?One of our largest clients is a startup that's a leader in employee training, though I can't name it due to nondisclosure agreements. What I can say is that some companies are training employees for specific tasks, like installing an electric circuit.There's also huge demand in the market for institutions to provide context to, say, students about what they can do, especially for professional or technical careers. They want to get a feel for what it's like to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/solar-careers-in-demand-workforce-shortage-2024-7">install solar panels</a>, for example.These kinds of applications address a real need in the market. They help people understand career options they might not have known existed.You mentioned you developed for the Apple Vision Pro. How are the latest headsets, like the Vision Pro, changing what you can achieve?Apple brought the whole <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-eye-tracking-accessibility-control-iphone-ipad-2024-5">concept of eye gazing</a>, the concept of prioritizing windows, and the fact that those windows can be expanded. That's a lot of new paradigms in the user-interface experience that Apple brought to the table, and it's been amazing.

The founder of a software-development company says there's a 'huge demand' for training and education applications — extended reality can help

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Mississippi hunters just broke the state record for the largest alligator ever caught.</li><li>These hunting programs help control alligator populations and fund state wildlife agencies.</li></ul>Hunters in Mississippi just <a href="https://www.insider.com/800-pound-monster-alligator-caught-mississippi-state-record-soup-kitchens-2023-8">caught an 800 pound alligator,</a> the largest ever recorded in the state. This has drawn attention to the state's alligator hunting program, which may provide more benefits for the reptiles than you might think. There are similar hunting programs in <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/moving-california-austin-texas-10-things-i-wish-i-knew-2021-1">Texas</a>, Arkansas, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-60000-pounds-of-crawfish-are-harvested-daily-in-louisiana-2023-8">Louisiana</a>, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina.These US programs help control the wild populations of alligators, which have been increasing<a href="https://www.nwf.org/Educational-Resources/Wildlife-Guide/Reptiles/American-Alligator" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> since they were listed as endangered in 1967,</a> and the sales of the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/python-huntress-explains-what-her-job-is-like-2023-7">hunting licenses</a> fund local wildlife protection, Tate Watkins, a research fellow at the Property and Environment Research Center, told Insider. That feeds back into <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/habitat-highways-help-species-escape-climate-change-2016-6">protecting alligators natural habitats</a>. "Regulated, sustainable hunting plays a huge role in wildlife conservation," he said. <div type="image" title="An alligator populates the Wakodahatchee Wetlands on June 27, 2022 in Delray Beach, Florida" height="4725" width="6975" msid="103445089" hostid="261"></div>Alligator hunting licenses come with strict stipulations about where a person can hunt, during what weeks of the season, and what <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/huge-alligator-was-caught-eating-a-whole-turtle-2015-3">size gator</a> they're allowed to catch. That way, officials can keep track of what is happening to populations in different habitats across the state. Because of this system, state officials were able to track the 776 alligators that were <a href="https://www.mdwfp.com/media/302969/2021-alligator-hunting-season-report.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">harvested in Mississipp</a>i in 2021. Also, the licenses that hunters purchased to hunt those gators generated about $293,700 in revenue for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks.<a href="https://www.mdwfp.com/license/lifetime-license/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">According to the department's website</a>, those dollars get placed into a Wildlife Endowment Fund, which pays for the management, enforcement, research, and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/scientists-use-artificial-intelligence-tools-to-help-save-wildlife-2022-10">education of the local wildlife.</a> Watkins said the bulk of state agency's funding comes from these licenses. <div type="image" title="Four men pose holding an 800-pound alligator they caught in Mississippi." height="3024" width="4032" msid="103445093" hostid="261"></div><h2>A balancing act</h2>There is a delicate balance between the health of a habitat and the number of animals in it. A famous example of this tension played out in <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/yellowstone-flooding-means-job-housing-cuts-for-seasonal-workers-2022-8">Yellowstone National Park</a> when wolves <a href="https://www.nps.gov/yell/learn/nature/wolf-restoration.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">were hunted to extinction</a>. This allowed other species, that would normally be controlled by the wolves, like elk, to balloon in size.The elk <a href="https://www.nps.gov/yell/learn/nature/cyclesprocesses.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">overgrazed the park's</a> Aspen and Willow trees, and the ecosystem began to change. But scientists pushed for wolves to <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/yellowstone-needs-more-beavers-2015-7">be reintroduced in 1995</a> things began to balance out. Though the effects of the reintroduction are still playing out, scientists have said bringing back the wolves benefited raven, eagle, beetle, wolverine, magpie, coyote, and bear populations, according to <a href="https://www.yellowstonepark.com/things-to-do/wildlife/wolf-reintroduction-changes-ecosystem/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yellowstone Park</a>. So in the case of gators, which have had population swings over past decades, officials are careful to take note, Watkins said. They play an important role in their ecosystem, creating habitat for fish with the holes they dig, and managing populations of prey animals, biologists Mike Heithaus and Maureen Donnelly <a href="https://phys.org/news/2016-06-alligators.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told Phys.org</a>. <h2><div type="image" title="gator" height="600" width="800" msid="103445095" hostid="261"></div>Keeping good public relations</h2>Another factor that plays into controlling gator populations is the fact that the more gators there are, the more likely they are to spill out of their natural habitats and come into contact with humans, Watkins said. There is no shortage of news stories about alligators <a href="https://www.insider.com/cambodian-farmer-killed-40-crocodiles-2023-5">harming humans</a>, <a href="https://www.insider.com/alligator-louisiana-house-intruder-2023-7">squaring off with pets</a>, and generally <a href="https://www.insider.com/video-massive-alligator-florida-golf-course-naples-2020-11">being a nuisance</a>.It's best for both the alligators and humans to keep their populations separate, at least from a public relations standpoint, Watkins said. People don't tend to take too kindly to being confronted by the dinosaurs. In his experience, Watkins has seen hunters tend to keep all these concepts in mind when they sign up for a license. He said that it may seem counterintuitive, but many of the people who are out there hunting have a deep respect and care for the animals they are seeking.Amongst those hunters, he's observed a universal, "ethos, of essentially wanting to contribute to that kind of larger conservation effort."

Hunting alligators is actually good for the environment and people

<ul class="summary-list"><li>When I applied to Yale and got in, I thought the hard part was behind me.</li><li>But on campus, there was even more competition to get into the top clubs, organizations, and classes.</li></ul><a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/more-competitive-than-ever-get-into-college-admissions-2024-1">Applying to college</a> in 2017 was one of the most stressful times of my life.I'd dreamed of attending a prestigious college since the first grade, so in the fall of my senior year of high school, I packaged and repackaged myself for 14 colleges in 150-word answers.What do I want to study? English — probably. What motivates me to learn? Fear and anxiety, if we're being honest, but we're not. So let's say it's the interconnected nature of the universe. What would I contribute to my first-year dorm if admitted? Crisp oxygen. I have a lot of houseplants.There were days I wanted to quit. At my <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/student-athlete-drafted-playing-mlb-baseball-2023-9">public high school</a> in Arkansas, no one else seemed to be applying to as many schools, but I kept reminding myself that it would be worth it. Plus, come spring, I'd be done with personal essays and never have to do them again.The following March, I got into college. I <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/asian-american-man-accepted-yale-university-college-2023-8">matriculated at Yale</a>, bought room decor, and learned the hard way that Yale dorms didn't have air conditioning. After the initial excitement of moving in and meeting my suitemates, I was hit with another round of applications: this time for classes and extracurricular activities.I quickly learned that the competitive nature of the college-application process bred even more competition among <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/harvard-dining-options-freshman-food-boring-2023-12">Ivy League students</a> once they got to campus.<h2>My first days at Yale were filled with a 2nd round of applications</h2>Like my fellow first-year students, I attended back-to-back information sessions for clubs: the Yale Dramatic Association, debate, Sabrosura (its Latin dance team), and more. Every information session was essentially the same: Here's what we do. You can do it too. Just apply — no experience required.Then came the rejection emails. The debate team didn't want me even though I'd captained <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/college-applications-advice-admissions-expert-apply-2023-10">my high-school</a> team for three years. Neither did the Latin dance team, even though I'd taken dance classes for 12 years. My suitemates and I bonded over the high-school extracurriculars we thought had gotten us into Yale, which we seemed no longer qualified to do. Some of my friends got into clubs only to find out they had to apply internally to participate.It wasn't just extracurricular activities. Every semester, I wrote essays, submitted writing samples, and emailed professors to get into classes I needed to graduate. It's common for seminars to receive over 100 applicants for 12 spots. I applied three times before being admitted to a popular essay-writing class.This wasn't how I pictured my first year. College was supposed to be my time to make mistakes, experiment, and try out things. After prioritizing things I excelled at over having fun for most of high school, I planned to go back to the activities I had given up along the way. I wanted to audition for a play or take up aerial gymnastics.Instead, I had to do the equivalent of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/dont-join-extracurriculars-just-to-buff-up-college-application-2023-9">applying to college</a> again every year I spent at Yale.<h2>It's not just a Yale problem</h2>It's not just Yale that breeds a hypercompetitive environment. The university actually felt a lot less overtly competitive than high school because people weren't all trying to achieve the same narrow set of goals. But the atmosphere created a stigma around failure that caused some people, including me, to hold themselves back from trying new things.To be good at something, you have to have tried it, "failed" a lot of times, and persisted. But the audition/application process at Yale made it so that I either had to be prodigiously good the first time I tried something or have spent years improving — and even that might not be enough.The director of Yale's education-studies program, Mira Debs, has pointed <a target="_blank" href="https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2023/09/yale-college-undergrad-clubs-competitive/675219/">out in The Atlantic</a> that many clubs are student-run, so perhaps the students are creating a competitive environment. But it's hard not to notice the parallels between Ivy League admissions and the subsequent application cycles.Competitive clubs are a product of a value system we bought into as children so that we could get into these schools. That doesn't just go away because you can recognize that it's destroying you. That's why exclusivity isn't just a Yale problem. It's pervasive among <a target="_blank" href="https://www.thedp.com/article/2022/10/selective-club-leaders-freshman-frustrated-tips">all</a> <a target="_blank" href="https://www.dailyprincetonian.com/article/2023/05/princeton-opinion-competitive-culture-mental-health-eating-clubs">colleges with </a><a target="_blank" href="https://www.columbiaspectator.com/opinion/2019/01/29/rejected-again-identity-club-exclusivity-harms-community/">competitive</a> <a target="_blank" href="https://cornellsun.com/2022/03/29/aggarwal-what-i-found-outside-of-competitive-club-culture/">admissions</a>.I'm still unlearning the all-or-nothing mindset that makes me feel like things aren't worth doing if I'm not immediately good at them. "The persistent prevalence of regressive mindsets and instances exemplified by cases involving insatiable demands for dowry underscores a broader societal concern. It highlights the challenges faced by married women, whose intrinsic value and dignity should not be contingent upon their parents' ability to meet the insatiable financial demands from their in-laws," Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma said. The <keyword id="6355392" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="high-court" source="Orion">high court</keyword> said it is disturbing to witness a scenario where parents wish for the well-being of their daughter and her comfort after she leaves her paternal house and tries to settle in the matrimonial home but instead of providing her love and support, the new bride is met with unrelenting greed and harassment from in-laws family. It said the trauma is multiplied and becomes lifelong when the victim of a dowry-related offence gives up her life due to constant torture and harassment, especially when the two daughters she has given birth to and loved also become a ground to harass and traumatise her as if she is solely responsible for the <keyword id="20152579" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="childs-gender" source="Orion">child's gender</keyword>. "Surprisingly, the genetic science in this regard is ignored according to which, the genetic determination of gender of the unborn child when the child is conceived, involves the combination of X and Y chromosomes, with females possessing two X chromosomes (XX) and males having one X and one Y chromosome (XY)." "According to <keyword id="20139732" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="encyclopedia-britannica" source="keywords">Encyclopedia Britannica</keyword>, the outcome of fertilisation depends on whether an unfertilised egg fuses with a sperm carrying an X or Y chromosome, resulting in the birth of a girl or boy, respectively," the high court said. It said the court had dealt with numerous cases of harassment, nagging and suicide or dowry deaths due to the victim being victimised for giving birth to daughters after being constantly harassed over not being able to fulfil her husband and in-laws' desire of "preserving the family tree". Justice Sharma said the court is "constrained to observe that such people need to be educated that it is their son and not their daughter-in-law whose chromosomes through the union of a married couple will decide the gender of their child. "Even if this judgement becomes the birthplace of such enlightenment, it will go a long way to change the mindsets of perpetrators of such crimes and save lives of innocent married women, by using principles of science through principles of law," she said. The high court made the observations while denying bail to the husband in a dowry death case. The allegations against the accused were that he along with his family members used to torture his wife for dowry leading to her committing suicide. It has been alleged by the complainant, father of the deceased woman, that the accused and his family pressured his daughter for additional dowry and financial demands, causing significant distress. It has also been alleged by him that she was taunted and mistreated for giving birth to two daughters. The high court, in its order, said prima facie at this stage, a woman has lost her life for giving birth to daughters, which should be unacceptable to a conscientious society and such offences have to be considered grave and serious when the trial is yet to begin. "In view of the above facts and circumstances, and since the allegations against the present applicant/accused are grave and serious in nature, the charges are yet to be framed and the material witnesses are yet to be examined, this court is not inclined to enlarge him on bail," it said. The court further opined that in a society that emphasises equality and strives for equal progress of women and women empowerment, incidents like this are etched as disheartening markers on the path of equal societal advancement for women. It said the notion that a woman's value diminishes if her parents cannot fulfil dowry expectations of her husband and in-laws reflects a deep-seated bias and discrimination against women. Such expectations not only violate the principles of gender equality but also contribute to an environment where women are objectified and reduced to mere transactions, the court said while acknowledging the profound distress experienced by parents, who in the earnest pursuit of their daughter's happiness, bestowed everything they had to allegedly fulfil the dowry demands of her in-laws.

Based on Law no. 13 of 2003 concerning Employment , the minimum age limit for workers in Indonesia is 18 years. Those who employ children under this age may be subject to sanctions. As reported by Kompas.com , there are several exceptions that allow minors to make money. This includes light work for children aged 13-15 years, work to support the curriculum, or work that supports children's interests and talents. However, this exception also has its own rules. The work above, for example, must not interfere with the child's education and physical and mental growth and development, can only be done for a maximum of three hours a day, and is strictly in accordance with the child's abilities.
