It will be positioned below the Venue in their lineup. Interested buyers can pre-book the Exter by paying a token amount of ₹11,000 either through the company's official website or by visiting a nearby Hyundai dealership.<br /><cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Engine, powertrain &amp; variants" comment="subhead" text="Engine, powertrain &amp; variants"><span data-til="noop">Engine, powertrain &amp; variants</span></cmsannotation><br />The upcoming Exter SUV from Hyundai will have a 1.2-liter petrol engine, which is the same as in the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, i20, and Venue models. The power output for the Exter hasn't been disclosed yet, but it is expected to produce similar figures to those of 83hp and 114Nm torque. The engine will be paired with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. Additionally, Hyundai has announced that they will offer a factory-fitted CNG kit at launch, just like in the Nios and Aura models, as the Exter shares the same platform and underpinnings with them.<br /><br />The Exter will be available in five different trims – EX, S, SX, SX(O), and top-spec SX(O) Connect. The SUV features a boxy design, a split headlamp set-up with H-patterned LED Daytime Running Lamps, a contrasting black grille with a prominent chin and a faux silver skid plate.<br /><br />On the sides, the Exter displays round and slightly flared wheel arches with thick cladding, which contribute to its square appearance. <keyword id="19906087" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hyundai" source="keywords">Hyundai</keyword>'s mammoth Rs 27,870 crore <keyword id="19898327" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ipo" source="keywords">IPO</keyword>, which will open for subscription between October 15-17, is set to be India's <keyword id="20459351" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="largest-IPO" source="keywords">largest IPO</keyword> ever, surpassing LIC's Rs 21,000 crore public offer, which came out in May 2022. This is also the first instance where an international giant (Hyundai Motor Group is based out of South Korea) will be listing its subsidiary (<keyword id="19908548" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai-Motor-India" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Hyundai Motor India" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Hyundai Motor India">Hyundai Motor India</keyword>) in an overseas market. <br /><br />Additionally, the company is also looking to raise Rs 8,315.28 crore from <keyword id="21330641" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="anchor-investors" source="keywords">anchor investors</keyword>, who will begin bidding on October 14th, 2024. Hyundai is the third largest auto original equipment manufacturer (OEM) globally, based on passenger vehicle sales.<br /><br /> "We have been in India now for more than 26 years. We have a very high market share. We are at number two position in India in the passenger vehicle space. We have got so much love and affection from the people of India. So we believe this is the right time to take one step forward and even further Indianize our operations," Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) COO Tarun Garg told PTI in an interaction. <br /><br />Garg further added that the whole aim is to really become the most trusted brand of India. On being asked why they choose India for launching their IPO, he noted that the brand Hyundai has really been accepted very well in India, which is why it is probably the right country to really go for the IPO. <br /><br />Hyundai has set a price band of Rs 1,865-1,960 per share for the IPO, taking the company's valuation to Rs 1.6 lakh crore, or $19 billion. For <keyword id="19972907" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="retail-investors" source="keywords">retail investors</keyword>, the minimum lot size is 7 shares, while the minimum investment amount is Rs 13,720. Out of the total issue, 35% has been reserved for retail investors, which will give them a fair shot at owning HMIL shares. Also, 7,78,400 shares have been allocated for employees, which will be offered at a discount of Rs 186 to the issue price.<br /><br />Most experts are suggesting subscribing to the IPO from a medium to long-term perspective. According to Bajaj Broking's IPO note, "The issue relatively appears fully priced, but the company is poised for bright prospects post completion of its ongoing expansions. The company reported PAT margins of 6.05% (FY22), 7.67% (FY23), 8.50% (FY24), 8.48% (Q1-FY25), and RoCE (return on capital employed)margins of 20.37%, 28.75%, 62.90%, 13.69% for the referred periods, respectively. We recommend to subscribe the IPO with a long-term perspective". <br /><br />Notably, the entire IPO is an <keyword id="19951016" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="OFS" source="keywords">OFS</keyword> (offer for sale) meaning that the company will not receive anything from this. This was soon eclipsed by Reliance Power's IPO worth Rs 11,563.20 crore in January 2008.  At 70X+subscription, it was massively oversubscribed in retail, QIB and HNI segments. The company managed to garner  Rs 7.5 lakh crore as against its issue size of Rs 11,000 crore. <br /><br />Then came government's (GOI) disinvestment in Coal India in 2010, which had a book size of 15,199.44 crores. After a 10-year lull, Paytm's Rs 18,300 crore IPO broke this slumber in 2021. This will be the first market outside South Kores where the country is listed.<br /><br />Hyundai, which entered the Indian market in 1996 is one of the top automakers in India, moving between the second and third spots. The company emerged as the second biggest automaker in Hyundai. Since it entered the Indian market, the company has sold over 80 lakh cars in the country.<br /><br />Hyundai intends to establish India as a global manufacturing and export hub for the company and this might be an initial step in this direction.<br /><br />KFin Technologies is the registrar for the public issue and advisors for the issue include Kotak Investment Banking, Citi, HSBC, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley.<br /><br /><h2>India’s biggest IPO</h2>Hyundai India is looking to raise ₹27,870 crore from the IPO, significantly higher than the ₹21,008 crore raised by the state-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in 2022, making it the biggest IPO in India’s history.<br /><br /><div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="111690863" title="The biggest IPOs in India’s history – LIC to Paytm, companies that have raised the most funds" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div><br /><h2>About the IPO</h2>The upcoming IPO from Hyundai is entirely an offer for sale (OFS), with the company looking to offload up to 17.5% of shares, which is 14.22 crore shares with a price band of ₹1865 to ₹1,960 per share. Bids can be made in a lot size of 7 shares or multiples of 7 shares.<br /><br />The IPO opens on October 15 and will close on October 18. While the allotment will be finalised on October 18, the shares will be listed on the stock exchange on October 22.<br /><br />At the upper end of the price band, Hyundai Motor India will be valued at $18 billion (approx. ₹1.6 lakh crore), which is around 40% of its parent company, Hyundai Global’s $45 billion valuation.<br /><br />As it is entirely an OFS, the company won’t receive any funds and all the funds raised will go to Hyundai Global. However, the company has said that part of the funds will be allocated towards research and development, especially in electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid technologies.<br /><br />The company has reserved 7.78 lakh shares with a value of ₹131 to ₹138 crore for employees. Employees will get these shares at a discount of ₹186 per share.<br /><br /><h2>First carmaker in over two decades to go public</h2>In addition to being the biggest IPO in the country’s history, this will also make the company the first car maker to go public in India in over two decades. The company recorded a PAT of ₹1,489.65 crore from April to June 2024.<br /><br />“Hyundai Motor India is seeking a slightly higher premium to Maruti and lower to M&amp;M based on price earnings ratio while Hyundai stands to be expensive in terms of price to book value. Hyundai India justifies its premium ask considering its leadership in SUV sales, world-class brand image followed by better safety ratings, Multi-segment growth visibility largely been driven by its popular SUVs, particularly the Creta, Exter, and Venue models in the Indian market,” said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities.<br /><br /><h2>Hyundai paid ₹10,780 crore dividend in FY24</h2>Ahead of the IPO, Hyundai paid a ₹10,780 crore dividend in FY24, up from ₹4,653.42 crore dividend in FY23 and ₹1,493.45 crore dividend in FY22.<br /><br />With this, the company’s cash and bank balance has declined from ₹17,741.15 crore a year ago to ₹9,017.35 crore.<br /><br /><div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="113925972" title="September Auto sales – Automakers report a decline, Mahindra and Mahindra overtakes Tata Motors" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div><br />“As a result, our ability to utilise our internal accruals and cash and bank balances has been reduced. In essence, it is the premium above the issue price of a share.<br /><br />The GMP of Hyundai has been on a decline, from ₹570 around two weeks ago to ₹130.<br /><br /><h2>Key risks to remember</h2>Here are some of the key risks that the business faces:<br /><br /><h3>Rising part prices</h3>There has been an increase in prices of key vehicle parts over the years, especially chipsets. April auto sales – Hyundai continues to hold the second position as Tata Motors inches closer

<keyword id="70910" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hyundai-motor" source="Orion">Hyundai Motor</keyword> India Ltd is on track to achieving 60 per cent of its total domestic <keyword id="6357824" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sales" source="Orion">sales</keyword> from <keyword id="60427" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="suvs" source="Orion">SUVs</keyword> this year with models like Creta and the newly launched Exter accelerating the growth, according to company COO Tarun Garg. With exports accelerating in the last three months, the company is also confident of sustaining its overseas shipments momentum despite concerns over global geopolitical situation. <br /><br /> "We will end up with more than 60 per cent at the end of the year which is what we said at the beginning of the year...We are now almost reaching there," Garg told PTI. <br /><br /> He was responding to a query on how much would SUVs contribute to the company's overall sales considering the traction its models have witnessed in the market. <br /><br /> He further said,"For us the good thing has been that SUV contribution has moved to 63 per cent in October and year-to-date at 59 per cent as against industry SUV percentage of 48 per cent. So that has really helped us to outperform the industry in terms of January to October numbers." <br /><br /> Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) clocked total sales of 68,728 units in October 2023 as compared to 58,006 units in the same month a year ago, a growth of 18.48 per cent. <br /><br /> In the January-October period this year, total sales stood at 6,43,535 units as against 5,78,956 units in the year-ago months , a growth of 11.15 per cent. <br /><br /> In the <keyword id="6382118" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="domestic-market" source="Orion">domestic market</keyword>, sales during the period were at 5,09,910 units as compared to 4,65,678 units in the corresponding period last year, up 9.49 per cent. <br /><br /> At the beginning of 2023, Garg said the contribution of SUVs to the company's total sales was 53 per cent. Explaining reasons behind the growth of HMIL's SUV sales, he said,"The Creta continues to be an outperformer.With the year-till-date growth of 16 per cent it maintains the segment leadership. Also, Exter is doing very well." <br /><br /> Hyundai Creta competes with the likes of Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki's Grand Vitara, among others in the Indian passenger vehicle market. On the exports front, Garg said the company is also on track to meeting its target of 1.6 lakh units for the year with the last "two to three" months turning out to be good. <br /><br /> "From July, we have been able to increase our <keyword id="6390515" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="capacity" source="Orion">capacity</keyword> by about 4,000 units a month and that gives us some leeway in terms of managing domestic and exports demand," he said, adding the company has been able to fulfill "backorders" in this quarter for exports. <br /><br /> Another factor for increase in exports is that the "Latin American markets have been doing quite well and that has really helped us to put in very healthy export numbers," Garg said. <br /><br /> He, however, acknowledged that there are concerns over the global geopolitical developments, specially in Israel and the Middle East. <br /><br /> "We are keeping our fingers crossed but as of now the order inflow has been reasonably okay," Garg said, adding the supply flexibility has helped HMIL export more in the last three months.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the flight cancellations."<br /><br />The airline said a full refund would be issued to the original mode of payment shortly.<br /><br />"We acknowledge the flight cancellations might have disrupted your travel plans and we are committed to providing all the assistance we can."<br /><br />The company has recently filed an application for immediate resolution under insolvency and revival of its operations.<br /><br />"We will be able to resume bookings shortly. "Russian intervention put him back moving forward. Assad and his allies are now the dominant power on the battlefield."</p><p>In fact, Russia dominates Syria's airspace so much that the US can't really consider launching airstrikes against Assad - Moscow's recent <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/russia-deploys-sa32-missile-system-syria-2016-10" target="_blank">deployment of advanced surface-to-air missile defenses</a> to Syria have created a de facto no-fly zone over areas under government control.</p><p>Dr. Igor Sutyagin, an expert on Russian missile defenses at the Royal United Services Institute, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/what-would-happen-us-strike-russia-targets-syria-2016-10" target="_blank">told Business Insider</a> that the US would now strain to strike at Syrian government targets. Even the US Air Force's fifth-generation stealth aircraft would have to be "<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/us-difficulties-strike-assad-2016-10" target="_blank">operationally, tactically brilliant</a>" to strike Russian or Syrian targets.</p><p>But as Kupchan points out, even if the US could readily destroy the missiles, risking war with Russia is not worth it.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Kremlin/Reuters</span></p><p class="caption">Russian President Vladimir Putin (R) shakes hands with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during a meeting at the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia, October 20, 2015.</p></div><p></p></div></div>Since the kinetic solutions to ending the war have crumbled, US officials have been again discussing the idea of equipping and training rebels and the Kurds, but Kupchan points out that these are not good options either.</p><p>"In theory, there are sufficient secular and non-extremist members of the opposition that one could construe a train and equip program. The problems facing that strategy would be numerous - the Syrian/Russian/Iranian alliance has significant momentum on the battlefield, and while we may well give weapons to the 'sane opposition,' the chances they would end up in the hands of the radical opposition is extremely high," said Kupchan.</p><p>Indeed, US efforts to train and equip groups in Syria have <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/10/world/middleeast/pentagon-program-islamic-state-syria.html">failed spectacularly</a> in the past.
