Besides flights, the Ministry also announced the suspension of land and sea entry to the Kingdom for the same period. On December, Saudi Arabia had first decided suspend international flights, except in exceptional cases, temporarily for a week, which could be extended for another week. The decision excludes the movement of goods, commodities, and supply chains. Saudi Arabia extends suspension of international flights for additional week

Panaji, <keyword id="168730" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Higher-Secondary">Higher secondary</keyword> and college examinations will be held offline this academic year in <keyword id="826" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Goa">Goa</keyword>, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Monday. Speaking at a function organised to felicitate meritorious students at the Harmal Panchkroshi educational institute in North Goa district, Sawant said that there was anxiety among students about when and how the exams would be conducted. "A lot of students are wondering when higher secondary schools or colleges will resume classes. We are stressing on offline exams this year. Class XI, XII as well as <keyword id="2802459" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="college-exams">college exams</keyword> will be held offline," Sawant said. Currently, schools in Goa are only allowed to hold offline classes for Class X and Class XII students, while other students are taught online by educational institutions. Classes for Class X and Class XII students began from November 21 this year. According to the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, exams for Class X are scheduled to begin from May 13, while Class XII exams are scheduled to start from April 26. Samsung expected to ship less than 300 million smartphones for the first time in nine years

Cairo, The Egyptian government has announced a series of new restrictions to control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Hero Electric partners with eBikeGO for last mile deliveries

San Francisco, Cyber-security firm CrowdStrike has revealed that suspected Russian <keyword id="11094" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hackers">hackers</keyword> who broke into a series of <keyword id="702959" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="US-government-agencies">US government agencies</keyword> and enterprises via compromising <keyword id="609247" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="SolarWinds">SolarWinds</keyword> software, aimed to attack its network but failed to do so. The suspected Russian hackers installed a malware in the Orion software sold by the IT management company SolarWinds, and accessed sensitive data belonging to several US government agencies, at least one hospital and a university, the Wall Street Journal reported last week. In a blog post, CrowdStrike said it was alerted by Microsoft that the hackers had tried to read its emails using a Microsoft reseller's account "<keyword id="9380675" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="several-months">several months</keyword> ago." "Specifically, they identified a reseller's Microsoft Azure account used for managing CrowdStrike's Microsoft Office licenses was observed making abnormal calls to Microsoft cloud APIs during a 17-hour period several months ago," the company said. "There was an attempt to read email, which failed as confirmed by Microsoft. As part of our secure IT architecture, CrowdStrike does not use Office 365 email". CrowdStrike conducted a thorough review and found that it "suffered no impact". CrowdStrike joins Intel, Cisco and 22 others as target of SolarWinds hack by Russian cybercriminals

New mutant strain of COVID-19 has entered India via six UK returnees

That’s still at least 50% cheaper than GSK and the whole process would still cost less than a single dose of Pfizer’s pneumonia vaccine. <ul><li>The US, UK, European Union, India and other countries are currently mulling over the approval of COVID-19 vaccines for the masses amid growing concerns over allergic reactions.</li><li>Data shows that more than 1.9 million people in the US have received a Pfizer and Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine dose, but only ten cases of anaphylaxis are under investigation. </li><li>Only one case of anaphylaxis has been reported after receiving Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine. </li></ul>More than 1.9 million people in the US have gotten a COVID-19 vaccine dose, and the European Union (EU) has put its program to vaccinate 450 million across the continent into gear. <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="79989056" title="COVID-19 vaccination campaign begins in Germany, Greece, Sweden, and other European nations" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div> In the US, all eyes are on Pfizer and Moderna. As countries rush to make the vaccine available, there are growing concerns around the reported adverse allergic reactions. Allergic reactions to Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine Pfizer and BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine was the first to roll out. It also has the most reports of severe allergic reactions compared to the only other vaccine which has approval so far, Moderna. Federal agencies in the US <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-updates/index.html">are investigating</a> at least ten cases of people who suffered anaphylaxis — a severe allergic reaction — after receiving Pfizer’s vaccine. In Alaska, two cases reported tongue swelling, hoarse voice and difficulty breathing within ten minutes of taking the first dose. At least two health care workers in Britain have also experienced severe allergic reactions after receiving the Pfizer vaccine earlier this month. They are understood to have suffered an ‘anaphylactoid’ reaction, which involves skin rashes, breathlessness and sometimes a drop in blood pressure. This is different from anaphylaxis reactions, which can be fatal if immediate medical aid isn’t administered. The UK has advised that anyone with a history of anaphylaxis to medicine or food shouldn’t get the vaccine. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) officials have discussed some cases. Still, they have not determined whether an ingredient in the vaccine caused allergic responses. However, some <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/scientists-eye-potential-culprit-for-covid-19-vaccine-allergic-reactions-11608901200">researchers believe</a> that polyethylene glycol (PEG) could be responsible. Allergic reactions to Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine The first case of an extreme adverse side-effect to Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine was reported last week. A doctor in Boston said he developed a severe allergic reaction to the vaccine within minutes of administration. He has a prior history of being allergic to shellfish. David Kibbe, the spokesman for Boston Medical Centre, confirmed the allergic reaction. “He was taken to the Emergency Department, evaluated, treated, observed and discharged. He is doing well today” Kibbe said in a statement. Moderna’s spokesman, Ray Jordan, communicated that the company will not comment on individual cases but that the company’s medical safety team is looking into the issue. To battle the overload of misinformation around the COVID-19 pandemic and the upcoming vaccine, the CDC will be launching a <a href="https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#vaccinations">new portal on the agency website</a> with information on reactions to COVID-19 vaccines starting this week.
