The Pune-based company has also opened pre-bookings of the bike. Evtric Motors is backed by Patil Automation (PAPL), a Maharashtra-based automation company. The company announced its entry into the electric vehicle segment last year with a planned investment of ₹100 crore. The company intends to launch electric bikes, scooters, bicycles and three-wheelers. The company has already introduced three scooters – Axis, Ride and Mighty in the country. The electric bike is powered by a 70v/40ah lithium-ion battery which promises 110 km of range on a single charge and can be fully charged within 4 hours using the 10amp micro charger provided with the bike which comes with auto-cut off feature. “We are excited to bring our latest creation RISE, our first ‘make in India’ electric bike. The bike shall define the true quality experience for the customers who are still otherwise hesitant to switch from ICE to EV,” said Manoj Patil, founder, Evtric Motors. In a tweet, Aggarwal said that EV fires will continue to happen. "EV fires will happen. Happens in all global products too. EV fires are much less frequent than ICE (internal combustion engine) fires," he said in a tweet, tagging Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor of Autocar India. Earlier this year, Aggarwal called a senior auto journalist "Petrol Media", and mockingly shared pictures of Burnol in response to the criticism he faced on Twitter. Amid cases of electric scooters catching fire, a man in Tamil Nadu in April set his Ola e-scooter on fire after being fed up with its poor performance. G. Prithviraj, who is a physiotherapist, had bought Ola scooter in January this year, but he had been fed up with its mileage and poor service by the company. "I had set my Ola scooter on fire as it did not give the mileage as promised by the manufacturer, and the poor service," he had told IANS. EV fires will happen says Ola's Bhavish Agarwal after Tata Nexon EV fire reports

According to a report by <a href="https://www.udayavani.com/english-news/mluru-fire-erupts-at-electric-scooter-showroom-in-naguri">Udayavani</a>, an Okinawa dealership named Smart City Motors in Naguri, owned by a person named Hamid caught on fire during the early hours today. Hamid lives above the showroom with his family and his wife was reportedly the first person to notice smoke emanating from the showroom around 7 am and alerted her son. Soon after the fire was reported, fire service personnel reached the location and doused the fire. While the showroom has been gutted, fortunately, there have been no casualties. Hamid’s son informed Udayavani that the main MCBs at their house tripped several times and they dismissed it, attributing it to power disruptions caused by rain. Update at 5 pm - Okinawa has reached out to Business Insider India with an official statement about the incident. "We are aware of an unfortunate fire incident at one of our showrooms in Mangalore this morning. As stated by the dealer, the fire was caused due to an electric short circuit. We are in touch with the dealership and we are extending all the necessary support.
