The company announced its entry into the electric vehicle segment last year with a planned investment of ₹100 crore. The company intends to launch electric bikes, scooters, bicycles and three-wheelers. The company has already introduced three scooters – Axis, Ride and Mighty in the country. Evtric Rise is the latest electric bike in India with a price tag of ₹1,59,990

The company said that the booking will soon open online and offline with zero booking amount on its website, along with select e-tailers. The e-scooter comes with a detachable lithium-ion battery option that provides the users with the convenience of charging. The scooters have a loading capacity of 150 kgs, clocking a motor power of 250W. Both the e-scooters take around 3.5 hours of charging time for a full battery, covering a distance of over 75 kms on a single charge, with a top speed of 25 kms per hour, the company said in a statement. "We have begun with the slow-speed e-scooters category, as we understand, given the current technology this would be a justified buy for the day-to-day commute of users. Automotive start-up EVTRIC Motors has unveiled its e-delivery scooter in the low-speed category at the EV Expo 2021 that will offer a range of 110 kms on a single charge. Showcased at the event held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi over the weekend, the scooter can clock a speed of 25 kms per hour. It features 12-inch tubeless tyres and a loading capacity of 150 kg. According to a report by <a href="https://www.udayavani.com/english-news/mluru-fire-erupts-at-electric-scooter-showroom-in-naguri">Udayavani</a>, an Okinawa dealership named Smart City Motors in Naguri, owned by a person named Hamid caught on fire during the early hours today. Hamid lives above the showroom with his family and his wife was reportedly the first person to notice smoke emanating from the showroom around 7 am and alerted her son. Soon after the fire was reported, fire service personnel reached the location and doused the fire. While the showroom has been gutted, fortunately, there have been no casualties. Hamid’s son informed Udayavani that the main MCBs at their house tripped several times and they dismissed it, attributing it to power disruptions caused by rain. Update at 5 pm - Okinawa has reached out to Business Insider India with an official statement about the incident. "We are aware of an unfortunate fire incident at one of our showrooms in Mangalore this morning. As stated by the dealer, the fire was caused due to an electric short circuit. We are in touch with the dealership and we are extending all the necessary support. The company had claimed that it will check the batteries for any damage and repair them free of charge. The regular fire incidents have had a bad impact on the brand. The electric scooter is priced at ₹1.1 lakh, and it can be booked from the company’s website by paying a refundable deposit of ₹1,947. Simple Energy plans to make the Simple One available in 75 cities across 13 states over the next couple of months, with plans to expand its presence to at least 176 cities by August 2022. Simple Energy’s coverage plan also includes setting up to 300 ‘Simple Loop’ fast-charging stations in the next seven months. The company says the Simple Loop stations will be situated at convenient locations where one can halt for a cup of coffee. Before the Simple One hits the road we take a look at the electric scooter’s top features. Speed The Simple One e-scooter has four riding modes — Eco, Ride, Dash and Sonic. It boasts a maximum range of up to 236 km, and in the Eco mode, it is said to offer a real riding range of 203 km. The Simple One is also claimed to accelerate from 0-40 km/h in just 2.95 seconds and it can achieve a top speed of 105 km/h, according to the company. Under the hood The electric scooter is equipped with a removable 4.8 kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-ion battery that takes less than three hours to go from 0 to 80%. It can be charged at any 15A charging, and it also supports fast charging that should give around 2.5 km of range for every minute of charge. The electric scooter has a 6bhp electric motor that has a base output of 4.5 kilowatt, a peak output of 7 kW and 72 Nm of peak torque. Customisable touchscreen On the Simple One electric scooter, you get a 7-inch coloured touchscreen that’s highly functional with support for Bluetooth and 4G connectivity. It comes with a host of features including onboard navigation, geofencing, remote locking, and OTA updates. You can also use it to control music playback, answer and reject calls. The touchscreen can also be customised to different coloured themes, and you can also switch between light and dark modes. There’s also a companion app for the Simple One with more customisation options. It will be available on Android and iOS soon. Design The Simple One electric scooter has a telescopic front fork, and it features LED pilot lamps, an LED triangular headlamp, and LED indicators. It weighs 110 kg and offers 30 litres of boot space. The electric scooter is also equipped with 12-inch wheels with a 200 mm front disc and a 180 mm rear disc. You get to choose between four colour options of Brazen Black, Namma Red, Grace White and Azure Blue.
