Car services management app Park+ on Tuesday said it has raised Rs 140 crore in a funding round led by <keyword id="5998794" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="epiq-capital" source="Orion">Epiq Capital</keyword>, Matrix Partners <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword> and Sequoia Capital India. The company plans to utilise the fund to expand its presence to over 100 cities, hire more than 200 employees and expand its services verticals, Park+ said in a statement. "The fund (Rs 140 crore) that we have raised will help us in strengthening our team and expanding our presence to over 100 cities. The part of the fund will be used for launching more used cases," Park+ Founder and CEO <keyword id="351083" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="amit-lakhotia" source="Orion">Amit Lakhotia</keyword> told PTI while sharing details of the funding. Park+ has over 700 employees across India. <keyword id="386081" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="lakhotia" source="Orion">Lakhotia</keyword> said that the company has an access control business in 20 cities, a parking business in 10 cities, and a dealership business in 30 cities and the company will scale up across different verticals and touch 100 cities in the next 6-8 months. The company helps users find a parking spot, track challans, recharge FASTag, renew insurance, car cleaning, car maintenance etc. Lakhotia said that the company has been making money since the beginning of the business and expects operational profit in the next financial year. Today they host the largest community of car owners in India (60 lakh), a testament to the brand's traction and acceptability among its users. The services include diagnostics support, health-insurance claim processing, hospital admission paperwork, cab pick-up and drop for surgery, medicine delivery at home and free post-surgery consultation. The company claims to have a network of over 300 surgeons and has completed 300,000 surgeries through its platform. “By using technology to deliver differentiated experiences and outcomes, Pristyn Care has built the leading consumer-centric surgery provider in India. The market opportunity is huge, and we couldn't be more excited to partner with Harsimarbir (Singh) and his team,” said Scott Shleifer, of Tiger Global Management, in a statement. The startup offers over 50 surgeries and treatments, and is present in over 30 cities in India. Tiger Global invests in healthcare startup Pristyn Care, valuation more than doubles in six months

Surgical care startup Pristyn Care raises $96 million from Tiger Global, Sequoia

These employees were not sent a formal mail but actually got a call saying they should put in their resignation, a source told Business Insider. “I have been with Curefit for a year now, but I got a call on May 1 saying that I have been laid off but I should send a resignation to the company. After that, I spoke to three people from the company and all three gave me different reasons, one said that the company doesn’t have money to pay while another said there are thousands who are being laid off,” a boxing trainer from <keyword id="6825388" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="cultfit">Cultfit</keyword>, Mumbai told Business Insider. Curefit admitted that it had laid off staff. "While we are doing everything we can to solve for our customers, we also need to adjust to the new realities and manage costs to ensure the long term viability of the business. We have downsized our employee base across markets where we have shut operations and have initiated pay cuts across levels. The founders have taken a 100% pay cut, the management team 50% and the rest of the staff depending on seniority have a reduction of 20 to 30%.," the company said. All employees part of the downsizing have been provided with a significant severance package to help them with the current situation, including extended health insurance for them and their families. "Further, we will provide our full assistance in out-placing them in the coming days. The company plans to use its funding to continue to supporting medium-sized businesses, which it claims are poorly served by payments companies. "We want to put ourselves in the shoes of our customers, these are real businesses that might have been around for a generation and don't have a 20 person team to do marketing, sales, review management, and emails," Horsley added. "Payments is a commodity and people need innovative tools to help them run their business."Much of SpotOn's focus has been on the food and drink industry but the firm hopes the new funding can be used to expand into new verticals.SpotOn is headquartered in San Francisco with product, technology and operations teams in Chicago, Detroit and Denver, as well as newly opened offices in Mexico and Poland.Check out SpotOn's (redacted) pitch deck below:
