New Delhi: Ethanol plants manufacturer Regreen-Excel <keyword id="23123526" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="epc-india-ltd" source="keywords">EPC India Ltd</keyword> has filed preliminary papers with capital markets regulator <keyword id="35210" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="SEBI" source="Orion">Sebi</keyword> to raise funds through an initial public offering (IPO). The company's initial share-sale comprises a fresh issue of equity shares worth Rs 350 crore and an offer-for-sale (<keyword id="19951016" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ofs" source="keywords">OFS</keyword>) of 1.14 crore equity shares by promoters, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP). The company proposes to utilize the net proceeds from fresh issue for payment of debt, funding margin money requirements for the purpose of availing bank guarantees; and for general corporate purposes. Regreen-Excel EPCR is a technology-driven EPC company, engaged in designing, manufacturing and supplying ethanol plants. Over the years, the company has built end-to-end capabilities in setting up ethanol plants, across feedstocks such as molasses/ sugarcane syrup, grains or a combination thereof, which it to provide concept to commissioning solutions to their customers. Since the company's inception to July 15, 2024, it has executed 113 projects across various feedstocks, which consist of 53 molasses-based projects, 57 grains-based projects and three <keyword id="23123527" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="multi-feedstock" source="keywords">Multi Feedstock</keyword> projects. As of July 15, 2024, the company had an order book of 64 ongoing projects worth Rs 3,452 crore, which aggregate to over 10,000 kilo litres per day (<keyword id="23123525" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="klpd" source="keywords">KLPD</keyword>) of ethanol capacity. IIFL Securities and ICICI Securities are the book-running lead managers to the issue.

Tata Power mulls 10,000 MW clean energy capacity in next five years in Rajasthan

New Delhi, Feb 13 () Mahindra EPC Irrigation on Thursday announced that the National Stock Exchange has approved its application for the listing of shares. The company, it said, has made an application for listing of equity shares on the NSE. "We would like to further inform that the National Stock Exchange of IndiaLimited (NSE) has approved our application for listing and the date of listing of our equity shares would be February 14, 2020," the company said in a filing to the BSE. The trading of the shares at NSE may follow soon thereafter, the filing said. On the BSE, the shares were trading at Rs 153.00 apiece in the morning trade, up 4.01 per cent from their previous close. New Delhi, Dec 16 () The NCLAT on Monday dismissed global steel major ArcelorMittal's petition, challenging approval of Royale Partners Investment Fund's resolution plan by the creditors of debt-ridden EPC Construction India Ltd (ECIL).
A three-member NCLAT bench headed by Chairman Justice S J Mukhopadhaya dismissed ArcelorMittal India plea observing that it has "no vested fundamental right to challenge the plan approved by the CoC of ECIL" formerly known as Essar Projects India.
ECIL's Committee of Creditors (CoC) had rejected ArcelorMittal India's bid and had voted in favour - with a majority of 73.14 per cent - of the resolution plan by Mauritius-based Royale Partners Investment Fund Ltd.
ArcelorMittal India, subsidiary of the global steel major, had challenged it before the NCLAT contending that the action of the CoC is vitiated by "procedural irregularities rendering illegal approval".
The steel major has contended that the resolution plan submitted by it was ex facie a better resolution plan selected by the CoC.
According to ArcelorMittal India, approval of bids from Royale Partners was in contravention of the mandatory requirement - under the proviso of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 - to ask a bidder to obtain approval from the fair trade regulator CCI prior to nod by CoC.
However, the argument was opposed by the Resolution Professional of EPC Constructions and it was contended that ArcelorMittal India is an 'unsuccessful resolution applicant' and cannot challenge the 'resolution plan' as it has been duly approved by the CoC.
It was further submitted that the steel major was called for negotiations six times between December 4, 2018 to January 10, 2019 and its bid was duly considered by lenders.
ArcelorMittal India received only 17.67 per cent of the total votes in CoC. 
Rejecting the steel major's submission, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) said that ArcelorMittal has no vested right to challenge the decision of the CoC, which rejected its resolution plan and approve another resolution plan which is under consideration of the Adjudicating Authority (NCLT).
The tribunal also observed that mandatory approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has been taken for the resolution plan.
"In absence of any merit, the appeal is dismissed," said the NCLAT.
Earlier on May 16, passing an interim order, the NCLAT had said if any resolution plan is approved for the company, then it would be subject to final outcome of its order.
According to reports, Royale Partners Investment Fund had offered to put in around Rs 900 crore to revive the company, which owed more than Rs 7,700 crore to its financial and operational creditors. KRH KRH BAL

NCLAT dismisses ArcelorMittal plea over EPC Construction

New Delhi, Nov 25 () Infrastructure firm Gammon India on Monday said it will revive its engineering, procurement, construction plans in irrigation, water supply and government-backed projects if its resolution plan is accepted by the lenders.
 The company, whose current liabilities at the end of the previous fiscal exceeded the current assets by Rs 6,174.16 crore, has submitted a debt resolution proposal to the lenders which is under consideration, according to Gammon India's Annual Report 2018-19. 
 "We also hope that with the acceptance of the resolution plan the company will be able to revive its EPC plans in irrigation, water supply and various government-backed project on the basis of existing technological credentials," the report said.
 "The company's priority is now to pursue arbitration and realisation thereof as well as to coordinate with various lenders so as to accept and implement the resolution proposal," it added.
Gammon's facilities with the corporate debt restructuring (CDR) lenders are presently marked as non-performing asset since June 2017. 
It has Rs 3,270 crore pending arbitration claims to be recovered. 
The company is actively pursuing arbitration pending at various stages and hopes to receive favourable awards, the report said.
"Pursuant to the provisions of the RBI Circular dated June 7, 2019 on 'Prudential Framework for Resolution of Stressed Assets', the lenders, entered and executed an Intercreditor Agreement (ICA) to provide for ground rules for finalisation and implementation of the resolution plan," the report said. 
Earlier this month, Gammon India said the publication of its financial results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2019 has been delayed as it was undergoing a financial crisis and was facing difficulties in hiring employees.
 "The company is also undergoing financial crisis and as a result the company is facing difficulties in attracting/hiring employees. This has delayed the preparation and finalization of accounts and hence publication of financial results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2019 has also delayed," Gammon India had said in a filing to the BSE.
The company had said it was endeavouring to publish the pending results at the earliest. SID SID ANU

New Delhi, May 7 () A lot of export orders of units in special economic zones (SEZs) are cancelled that are lying with them due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the government should consider steps to support the sector, EPCES said on Thursday. In a letter to Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs Vice-Chairman Bhuvnesh Seth has requested that SEZ units should be allowed to sell goods in domestic market on payment of duty in line with export-oriented units (EOUs), that is, equivalent to duty forgone on the raw material used in the manufacture of finished goods sold in the domestic market. "This will help these units survive in the domestic market. Further, this will also help the SEZ units continue their manufacturing process, utilise their plant and machinery and engage the workforce, which is idle due to this pandemic situation," Seth said. He said EOUs are permitted to sell their products in DTA (domestic tariff area or domestic market) on payment of duty foregone subject to fulfilment of positive net foreign exchange earning. SEZs are treated as foreign territory in terms of customs laws. They are developed as exclusive export zones. Selling of goods by these manufacturing units in the domestic market or outside these zones are treated as imports and, therefore, the units have to pay full import duty. "One of the major issues that SEZ units are facing is that due to this pandemic, a lot of export orders of SEZ units are cancelled which are lying with them and further there will be minimal export orders in the near future. If SEZs sell their products in DTA, payment of customs duty as per...SEZ Act, 2005, is making their products uncompetitive," he added. Seth said the sector is the biggest tool for the government to earn foreign exchange, attract investment and generate employment. Lot of export orders of SEZ units cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic; govt support needed: EPCES

New Delhi, Jun 23 () Revenue of road building engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies is expected to contract 8-10 per cent this fiscal as the COVID-19 pandemic-driven lockdowns severely curtailed their activity, CRISIL Ratings said on Tuesday. There was a 17 per cent growth between fiscals 2017 and 2020 based on an analysis of over 300 CRISIL-rated EPC companies with rated debt of Rs 51,000 crore, CRISIL Ratings said in a statement. With lower awarding by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in the last two fiscals, revenue growth was expected to taper to some extent. However, this fiscal, the slowdown in execution due to lockdowns and the resultant labour shortage is expected to push revenue growth into negative territory, it said. CRISIL Ratings Senior Director Sachin Gupta said, "Typically, in EPC projects, maximum execution and billing is done in March. However, the lockdown that began from March 22 halted work in the crucial last days of last fiscal and has continued to do so this fiscal." "The pick-up in execution and mobilisation after the lifting of the lockdown will be gradual. The upshot would be revenue degrowing 8-10 per cent and margins for EPC companies being hit by about 200 basis points (bps) in fiscal 2021," he added, Given the effects of the lockdown, these companies had no execution, and hence no income in April, but had to meet their fixed costs which are primarily employee and establishment, the statement said. "These account for about 12 per cent of the topline, and with sites operating at about 50 per cent efficiency in most of May, too, it would mean operating margins would decline about 200 bps to around 12 per cent this fiscal," it said. The rating agency said operations are likely to stabilise after monsoon as migrant workers return to project sites. The trajectory of recovery will therefore depend on the time taken to contain the pandemic. It said the slowdown is unlikely to materially impact the credit profiles of these companies, primarily because of their robust balance sheets. Efficient management of working capital and liquidity, though, will be key to tide over the current situation. To their credit, these companies have kept a check on their debt levels while pursuing growth, it said. At a consolidated level, as on March 31, 2020, their capital structures were robust, with gearing at 0.50 time as compared with 0.80 time as on March 31, 2015, the statement said. It attributed two reasons for low leverage of the companies. "Firstly, NHAI awards post 2015 have been predominantly through the EPC and HAM routes, entailing lower equity requirements given NHAI's contribution to project cost. Secondly, divestment of road assets to infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs) and global equity funds have helped further improve the capital structure," CRISIL Ratings said. The ensuing low leverage provides resilience in these times of subdued operating performance, it added. Sushmita Majumdar, Director, CRISIL Ratings said, "As much as 90 per cent of the debt of the 300 CRISIL-rated road EPC companies analysed has an investment grade rating – BBB category and above. Their order books remain strong at around 2.2x of their last year's revenues and liquidity is also stable, with bank limit utilisation averaging about 70 per cent." "Even assuming the receivable cycle stretching by an additional 1-1.5 months, they are adequately placed to weather the current situation, thus keeping their credit profiles stable. But the remaining 10 per cent may see some credit pressure because of liquidity pressures," she added. NAM RVK

Road EPC companies' revenue to contract 8-10 pc in FY21 due to COVID-19: CRISIL Ratings

New Delhi, Jan 23 () Dilip Buildcon Ltd on Thursday said that it has executed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) pact with Uttar Pradesh EIDA for development of a road project worth Rs 1,250 crore.
"The company has executed the EPC agreement with the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) for...project in the state of Uttar Pradesh," the company said in a BSE filing.
The completion period of the project Gorakhpur Link Expressway (Package II) -- from Fulwariya (Ambedkar Nagar) to Salarpur (Azamgarh) in Uttar Pradesh -- is three years, the filing said.
The shares of the company were trading at Rs 422.05 apiece on the BSE, up 0.80 per cent from the previous close. SID BAL

Dilip Buildcon executes EPC pact with UPEIDA for Rs 1,250 cr road project in UP

<keyword id="534703" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bharat-Heavy-Electricals-Limited">Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited</keyword> (<keyword id="6354446" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="BHEL">BHEL</keyword>), which is a state-owned electrical equipments manufacturer, has secured a deal worth Rs 3,810 crore from Telangana to set up a first thermal power project in the state, as per a PTI report. 
	 
	As per a statement issued by BHEL, Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TSGENCO) has entered into an MoU with the state-run firm for construction of new thermal power plants totalling to 6,000 MW in the state in the next three years in order to meet the increasing demand for power. 
	 In an offiicial BHEL statement, MoU is valued at Rs 3,810 crore--the order is for setting up the 800 MW supercritical thermal power plant on <keyword id="129822" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="EPC">EPC</keyword> (engineering, procurement &amp; construction) basis at Kothagudem in Khammam District of Telangana. 
	 
	Both BHEL and TSGENCO are setting up teams to expedite clearances and execution of the project, which will be commissioned in 36 months on a fast-track basis.

BHEL-TSGENCO Sign An MoU Worth Rs 3810 Crore

<keyword id="273154" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Arun-Duggal">Arun Duggal</keyword>, the 68 year old chairman of financial services major, <keyword id="4745298" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shriram-Capital">Shriram Capital</keyword> has resigned from the directorship of the company on November 15, 2014. Duggal was a non executive and non independent director as well as the chairman of the Board of Directors of the company. 
 
“ We are not aware of the reason behind his resignation. However, we know that he has resigned,” a senior official from the company told BI India on the condition of anonymity. 
 Duggal has also resigned from Board of Directors from other Shriram group ventures which include <keyword id="6355662" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shriram-Transport-Finance-Company">Shriram Transport Finance Company</keyword> and <keyword id="6474478" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shriram-City-Union-Finance">Shriram City Union Finance</keyword>. 
 
The company spokesperson confirmed the news. 
 It should be noted that Duggal is also the chairman of Shriram Properties and Shriram <keyword id="129822" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="EPC">EPC</keyword>, and Bellwether Microfinance, a company which provides equity capital to micro finance organisations. 
 According to the website of the company, Duggal also serves as a senior advisor to the global private equity firm <keyword id="124318" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="TPG-Capital">TPG Capital</keyword>. His expertise includes financial strategy, merger and acquisition and capital raising. 
 At present, he is the vice chairman of International Asset Reconstruction Company and Indian Venture Capital Association. Previously, he has also been the chairman of the American <keyword id="6693414" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="chamber-of-commerce">Chamber of Commerce</keyword>, India and was on the Board of Governors of the <keyword id="520714" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Institute-of-Bank-Management">National Institute of Bank Management</keyword>.

L&T wins multiple orders worth Rs 2500 to 5000 crore to build grids for clean energy transition

"At Rs 1,189 crore, growing 31 per cent YoY (year-on-year), the company reported its highest ever and 19th consecutive quarter of PAT growth on the back of strong operational performance and execution excellence across all its businesses of generation, transmission &amp; distribution, and renewables," Tata Power said in a statement. According to the statement, these businesses contributed 84 per cent of the PAT (net profit) in Q1FY25, compared to 72 per cent in the same period in FY24. The statement showed that the consolidated net profit before exceptional items was Rs 906 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2023. The company's revenue rose 12 per cent YoY to a record high of Rs 16,810 crore (from Rs 15,003 crore in Q1 FY24), and EBITDA grew 11 per cent to Rs 3,350 crore in the reported quarter (from Rs 3,005 crore in Q1 FY24). EBITDA refers to earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. "All our businesses have grown profitably on the back of operational efficiency, execution excellence, and sustained business momentum," said Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Power. He informed that the planned capex for this financial year is Rs 20,000 crore and the company is committed to adopting and leading the new and emerging clean energy technologies, including pumped hydro projects, hydropower projects in Bhutan, and opportunities to develop small modular nuclear reactors as the government policy evolves. The company has recorded a capex investment of Rs 4,000 crore in Q1FY25. It has a clean and green installed capacity of 6.1 GW as of Q1FY25, accounting for 41 per cent of the capacity, with another 5.3 GW under execution. The combined order pipeline for utility-scale EPC and solar rooftop, including group captive, is Rs 15,500 crore. Tata Power is poised to garner 20 per cent market share in the residential rooftop segment on the back of its new solar manufacturing facility and strong pan-India channel partner network, it said.
