Her unexpected death leaves her husband, <a href="https://www.insider.com/gilmore-girls-reunion-the-resident-logan-finn-2018-10">Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry), </a>a widower and a single father to the couple's infant daughter, who was born last season.</p><p>Nic's pregnancy in season four overlapped with VanCamp's real-life pregnancy, and though the timing wasn't exactly the same. The <a href="https://deadline.com/2021/10/emily-vancamp-celebrates-four-season-run-the-resident-as-she-exits-series-1234850429/">Marvel actress revealed to Deadline</a> that the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lifestyle/lifestyle-news/emily-vancamp-welcomes-first-child-iris-1235003686/">birth of her daughter Iris</a> is part of the reason why she decided to leave the show.</p><div type="image" title="Matt Czuchry and Emily VanCamp in the “A Children’s Story” episode of &quot;The Resident&quot;" height="2422" width="3229" msid="86825018" hostid="261"></div><p>"Suddenly priorities shifted," VanCamp said, referencing the birth of her first child with husband Josh Bowman. "The Resident" films in Atlanta, and VanCamp said she and Bowman are settled in a "different city." Combined with COVID-19 filming precautions, "most of us couldn't see our families for almost a year," according to VanCamp.</p><p>"It really solidified for me that family is where my heart is at the moment," she told Deadline.</p><p>The actress called her decision to say goodbye to Nurse Nevin "bittersweet" and made clear that her choice was not influenced by any drama on set. She couldn't even get a government pardon, despite the legacy of her family name. </p><p>"We're meeting this whole new version of her, and this kind of character, unfortunately, is the sad product of the series of events where she was abandoned and left to her own devices," VanCamp said. But whether he chooses to pursue a romantic future with Billie (Jessica Lucas) or Cade (Kaley Ronayne), it's one little lady, his daughter Gigi (Remington Blaire Evans), who will always have his entire heart.</p><p>In a clip from the season premiere shared exclusively with Insider, Gigi is in distress after having an ominous nightmare that we hope doesn't foreshadow trouble for the father-daughter duo in the future. </p><p>Gigi wakes up screaming for her dad after dreaming of a dark figure cloaked in black who enters her room and locks the door before approaching her bed.</p><div type="image" title="Matt Czuchry and Kaley Ronayne." height="5221" width="6962" msid="94312551" hostid="261" sizebytes="1736380"></div><p>"There was a bad man here. Nic was killed off in season five. As it turns out, Power Broker was hiding in plain sight the whole time. Super Soldiers might be off the menu, but we're about to have full access to government secrets, prototype weapons, you name it. She was supposedly on the run from the government for years after "Civil War," because she betrayed them by working with Steve Rogers/Captain America.</p><p>Unfortunately, it seems like no one from the Avengers bothered checking in on Sharon after she was last seen in "Civil War" - not even Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), who had a brief and controversial romance with her. Bucky, a former assassin, was able to get a pardon, but somehow Sharon wasn't. </p><p>Perhaps Sharon felt used by the team and headed to Madripoor to make a name for herself there, where she could be respected and powerful. </p><p>In the years that she was missing in action, she clearly refined her fighting technique so she could hold her own. Viewers saw that on display during episode three and <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/falcon-and-the-winter-soldier-star-emily-vancamp-on-sharon-carter-finally-being-unleashed">VanCamp spoke about developing a grittier fighting style for the show</a>. </p><div type="image" title="the falcon and the winter solider sam wilson and sharon carter hq" height="1471" width="1962" msid="82224831" hostid="261"></div><p>She also gave insight into Sharon's mindset going into "TFATWS" during an interview with <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/falcon-and-the-winter-soldier-star-emily-vancamp-on-sharon-carter-finally-being-unleashed">The Hollywood Reporter</a>.</p><p>"My initial thought was that this surely is a very different woman," VanCamp said. She's been on the run this whole time and for what? And to what end?"</p><p>"Even though we don't necessarily specify what she's had to do to survive, you get the sense that it hasn't been easy," the actress added.</p><p>Sharon's new identity as the Power Broker shows that she's far different from who she used to be. She also contrasts her famous relative. Maybe Sharon wanted to forge her own path rather than live in the shadow and impossible standard set by Peggy. </p><p>It's unclear when she assumed the Power Broker identity or how she was able to build up a strong reputation in just a few years in Madripoor. She's clearly well-connected and seemed to be helping everyone and anyone on the show - whether it was Sam and Bucky, Batroc, or Karli Morgenthau and the Flag Smashers. </p><div type="image" title="the falcon and the winter soldier sharon carter" height="1200" width="1599" msid="82224832" hostid="261"></div><p>Considering the history of the super-soldier serum in the MCU, it's puzzling that Sharon, under the guise of the Power Broker, would be so interested in funding a recreation of the formula. According to Karli, Sharon "wanted to control a world" that hurt her. She and Karli met in Madripoor and appeared to have a falling out because of their differing motives. </p><p>But Sharon's motives and reasoning behind working with villains are largely unclear. With her skills and newfound access to highly classified items, there's plenty of room to explore what's next for her in the MCU.</p><p>"TFATWS" hasn't been renewed for a second season yet, but the <keyword id="47501" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Marvel">Marvel</keyword> Studios president <a href="https://deadline.com/2021/03/falcon-and-the-winter-soldier-season-2-marvel-kevin-feige-anthony-mackie-black-widow-spinoff-series-1234714048/">Kevin Feige</a> and "TFATWS" producer <a href="https://www.indiewire.com/2021/04/falcon-and-winter-soldier-emmys-drama-series-season-2-plans-interview-1234631267/">Nate Moore</a> both said that there are ideas for where the show could be headed next. </p><p>Sharon could also appear in an upcoming "Captain America" movie, which was <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/captain-america-4-in-the-works-with-falcon-and-the-winter-soldier-showrunner-malcolm-spellman-exclusive">reported by The Hollywood Reporter on Friday.</a></p>

'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' has an end-credits scene. Here's what it means for one character's future in the MCU.

The episode also nabbed its <span style="line-height: 1.5em;">biggest young adult audience since Dec. 7 of last year.</span></p><p>But the big ratings news is the show's 20% increase with adult viewers between the ages of 18-49 <span>-</span> the group advertisers really desire. "Revenge" earned a 1.2 rating/4 share versus last week's 1.0/3. It also beat CBS's "Battle Creek" (0.7/2) and NBC's "American Odyssey" (0.5/2) ratings, its broadcast network competition in the 10 p.m hour.</p><p>A number of things could've given "Revenge" the boost. First, curiosity. Lapsed and new viewers may have heard of the cancelation and decided to tune in to find out what's happening on the show and if they felt it deserved to be done-zo.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><strong>(Warning: Spoiler alert ahead)</strong></p><p>Second, the recent major character death. Fans may have been hooked by the <a href="http://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/revenge-recap-amanda-uncovers-victorias-plan-and-another-huge-secret-201545">demise of the show's Queen Bee</a> Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) and the fallout for Emily (Emily VanCamp), who was framed by Victoria for her murder.</p><p>And third, a strong lead-in show. "Revenge" could've been helped by the finale of "Secrets &amp; Lies," which aired at 9 p.m. and scored a series-high audience of 6.4 million viewers (a 10% increase over last week's episode) and a steady 1.7/5 rating in that advertiser-coveted Adults 18-49 demographic. Many of those people can stick around and help drive ratings for the next show up.</p><p>Regardless, these ratings could mean that "Revenge" may end its four season run next week with a pretty good ratings sendoff.</p><p>Last Wednesday, just hours after BI named "Revenge" on its list of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/tv-shows-likely-canceled-2015-4#ixzz3YuAJ9RNr">15 shows that will most likely be canceled</a>, ABC announced that the drama would end after its current fourth season.</p><p><span>During its first season, "Revenge" helped to rejuvenate ABC after a string of failed dramas. <p class="p1">Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film will follow the 1941 comic series of the same name and will show Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) teaming up with the Black Widow from "The Avengers" in Washington D.C. </p>
<p class="p1">The movie isn't out until April 4, 2014, but for now, here's everything we know about the upcoming Marvel flick revealed in the press release:<span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong style="line-height: 1.5em;">Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson will star in the film as Black Widow and Nick Fury.</strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong style="line-height: 1.5em;">Cobie Smulders ("<a href="http://www.cbs.com/shows/how_i_met_your_mother/cast/61490" target="_blank">How I Met Your Mother</a>") will be reprising her role from "The Avengers."</strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong>There almost certainly will be a flashback.</strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> </span></p>
<p class="p1" style="padding-left: 30px;">Haley Atwell, who played Captain America's girlfriend in the first film, will make an appearance as Peggy Carter.<span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong>Robert Redford will be in the film. </strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> </span></p>
<p class="p1" style="padding-left: 30px;">He'll play S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Alexander Pierce. <span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong style="line-height: 1.5em;">ABC star Emily VanCamp ("<a href="http://abc.go.com/shows/revenge/bios/emily-thorne" target="_blank">Revenge</a>") will play Captain America's new love interest.</strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> </span></p>
<p class="p1" style="padding-left: 30px;">VanCamp is playing <a href="http://marvel.wikia.com/Agent_13" target="_blank">Agent 13 (aka Sharon Carter)</a>, and, yes, she has a connection to America's old flame, Peggy.</p>
<p class="p1"><strong>The movie will be filming in Los Angeles; Cleveland, Ohio; and Washington, D.C.</strong><span> </span></p>
