New Delhi, Jan 24 () Hospitality firm EIH, which runs hotels and resorts under Oberoi and Trident brands, on Friday reported a 5.76 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 102.56 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2019.
 The company had posted a net profit of Rs 96.97 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, EIH Ltd said in a filing to the BSE.
 Consolidated total revenue of the company stood at Rs 534.13 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 547.24 crore in December quarter a year ago. 
 Shares of EIH on Friday closed at Rs 146.95 per scrip on the BSE, down 0.27 per cent from previous close. AKT RVK

EIH Q3 net profit up 6 pc to Rs 103 cr

New Delhi, May 18 () Shares of multiplex and hotel operators on Monday cracked up to 14.5 per cent after the countrywide lockdown was further extended till May 31. Shares of INOX Leisure tumbled 14.49 per cent and those of PVR tanked 12.54 per cent on the BSE. Besides, Chalet Hotels plummeted 13.38 per cent, Indian Hotels Company Limited plunged 8.04 per cent, EIH Associated Hotels 5.83 per cent, Wonderla Holidays 4.91 per cent and Lemon Tree Hotels 4.78 per cent. The lockdown was first announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24 for 21 days in a bid to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. It was first extended till May 3 and again till May 17. New Delhi, Mar 12 () Hospitality chains across India, such as domestic majors Indian Hotels Company and EIH and global firms like Hyatt, are taking a slew of measures, including checking temperature of guests and staff, and undertaking additional hygiene procedures to control the spread of coronavirus. "In light of the current situation, we have implemented additional precautionary hygiene measures across our hotels based on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare advisory and guidelines for prevention and transmission," an IHCL spokesperson said in a statement. This includes training associates as per the protocol prescribed by the Government of India, sanitisation of all areas, increased access to alcohol-based hand sanitizers at prominent locations and body temperature checks for everyone visiting our premises using non-invasive laser thermometers, it added. "As mandated, we are notifying local authorities on travellers coming from affected countries," IHCL said. Stating that its guests and colleagues are well with no symptoms of COVID-19, EIH that runs the hotels and resorts under the Oberoi and Trident brands said it has implemented a guest check-in declaration form at all hotels. This form identifies guests who have travelled to any of the high-risk countries in the past 14 days or have symptoms associated to the virus. "The temperature of each guest is being checked and recorded at the time of check-in. If any of the parameters are not normal, the guest is being requested for a medical examination before completing check-in formalities," EIH said in a statement. For hotels located in remote locations or with little to no non-resident business, entry to the hotel is being restricted to hotel guests, it added. "In our hotels located in key cities across the country, non-resident guests are being requested for their temperature readings before entry," the statement said. Thermal imaging cameras are being procured to monitor the temperatures of each person entering the hotel premises. This should be in place in the next few days in hotels located in key cities across the country, it added. Corporate office colleagues have all been advised to work from home to the extent possible. The colleagues have also been requested to stay at home under self-isolation for a period of 14 days if they show signs of any of the symptoms or have come in contact with someone from a high-risk country, the statement said. At Trident Udaipur, 83 employees are undergoing self-isolation for a period of 14 days as a precautionary measure, it added. Emphasising that it is taking all measures to safety and well-being of its guests and employees, a Hyatt spokesperson said, "We have introduced comprehensive COVID-19 guidance across Hyatt hotels globally, detailing how to protect against transmission of the virus including implementing hand sanitizer stations and frequent cleaning of high-touch areas, and procedures in case there is a suspected or confirmed case among our guests or colleagues." In addition, cross-functional, global response teams, including infectious diseases and occupational health experts, provide guidance to our hotels and help address specific situations, if needed, the statement added. "All precautionary procedures and protocols are in line with the recommendations made by the World Health Organization, US Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and local authorities in each country," the spokesperson said. Indian hotel companies have shown resilience during the pandemic and now the markets are celebrating them

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani's <keyword id="6487" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Industries-Ltd">Reliance Industries Ltd</keyword> has bought Britain's iconic country club and luxury golf resort, Stoke <keyword id="6379196" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="PARK">Park</keyword>, for 57 million pounds (about ₹592 crore). The acquisition adds to <keyword id="10926" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance">Reliance</keyword>'s current stake in Oberoi hotels and hotel/managed residences in Mumbai that it's developing. Over the past four years, Reliance has announced USD 3.3 billion in acquisitions with 14 per cent in retail, 80 per cent in technology, media, and telecom (TMT) sector, and 6 per cent in energy. The UK-based firm, which owns a hotel and golf course in Buckinghamshire, UK, will add to Reliance's consumer and hospitality assets, the firm said in a filing late on Thursday. "Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Ltd (RIIHL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of <keyword id="45442" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Industries-Limited">Reliance Industries Limited</keyword>, has on April 22, 2021, acquired the entire issued share capital of Stoke Park Limited, a company incorporated in the United Kingdom, for 57 million pounds," it said. Stoke Park Limited owns and manages sporting and leisure facilities in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, UK. The facilities include a hotel, conference facilities, sports facilities and one of the highest rated golf courses in Europe. "RIIHL will look to enhance the sports and leisure facilities at this heritage site, while fully complying with the planning guidelines and local regulations," Reliance said. This acquisition will add to the consumer and hospitality footprint of the oil-to-telecom conglomerate. The group already has investments in EIH Ltd (Oberoi Hotels) and is developing state-of-the-art convention centre, hotel and managed residences in BKC Mumbai. This is the second major acquisition of an iconic British company by Ambani, 64. He bought British's iconic toy store Hamleys in 2019, to strengthen its retail footprint. Stoke Park has always had a close relationship to Pinewood Studios and the British film industry. Two James Bond movies -- Goldfinger (1964) and Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) were filmed at Stoke Park. The epic duel between James Bond (<keyword id="6528947" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="sean-connery">Sean Connery</keyword>) and Goldfinger (Gert Frobe) is still considered to be the most famous game of golf in cinematic history, the Park stated on its website. Adding to it, global chip shortage could impact supply of tinting machines which are key for paint dealers. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Lemon Tree hotels had to shut their doors from the beginning of the lockdown on March 25, even before that the fear of the virus had kept customers away. “The growing concerns around the spread of Covid-19 followed by the nation-wide lockdown announced by the central government impacted the operating environment for hotels significantly,” said Patanjali Keswani, Chairman &amp; Managing Director – Lemon Tree Hotels. The company also said that its revenue from operations were down by 76% in April 2020 on a year-on-year basis, whereas the expected numbers from May are set to be down by 70%. While the company has said it would not layoff permanent employees, it has announced a freeze in hiring as well paycuts across the management. “All discretionary spends like advertising, leased cars, etc.are paused. There will be a careful monitoring of all costs undertaken to achieve breakeven at Net EBITDA level in Q1 FY21,” said the company.
