EaseMyTrip touches market cap of a billion dollars

However, within minutes of trading the share price fell to ₹204 at 10.13 am. Since its listing, the company’s market value rose to ₹2,305 crore. In the grey market, the shares of the company were trading at ₹160-165, as per <a href="https://www.livemint.com/market/ipo/easy-trip-planners-ipo-grey-market-premium-listing-gains-allocation-dates-in-10-points-11615094894205.html">reports.</a> However, the grey market is not an official measure of the market premium. The company had seen its IPO being oversubscribed by 159.33 times the offer value, with its QIB portion being subscribed 78 times, HNI 384.26 times and retail 70.78 times. EaseMyTrip’s IPO comes at a time when the fears of another lockdown are surging in the country, which could potentially affect travel. With the rising number of COVID-19 cases, several states have issued advisory while many cities are now subject to lockdowns or night curfews. However, ahead of its IPO, EaseMyTrip seemed optimistic about the travel industry. “In our third quarter of 2020, we have already recovered 70% of where we were during the same period last year,” Prashant Pitti, director at Easy Trip Planners (the parent company of EMT) told Business Insider in an interview. The company is an exception among a large pool of internet companies, which have tried to get listed – EaseMyTrip has bootstrapped its way to the public markets. Founded in 2008, the company is India’s second largest travel aggregator. EMT claims to have achieved profitability and calls itself “the only profitable company among key OTAs (online travel aggregators) in India”. The online penetration, defined as a share of bookings done online through websites of the service providers or through online travel agencies (OTAs), of the Indian travel industry accounted for 56-58% in FY20. The analysts further expect the share of online penetration to 67-68% in FY23, supported by growth in online transactions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Justified valuations The ICICI Direct report highlighted that taking cognisance of the huge growth opportunities for EaseMyTrip and a lean cost of operations that would aid the flow of profitability to the bottom line — “it is an attractive issue.” According to Choice Broking, the company is available at a P/E of 65.3x on FY20 numbers — “which is reasonably priced”. With ₹8 crore already lost in the first attempt at listing due to advisor and investment banker costs, EaseMyTrip decided to not take this loss once again. “We were done with the lawyers and bankers. Either we are getting listed now or we are never getting listed. This was the thought process,” Pitti jokes. “We thought that there is not going to be a second wave… As we got closer to the IPO the second wave started to come back into the picture,” Pitti says. How EaseMyTrip doubled investors’ money during one of the worst periods for the travel industry

The company said that the total payout of the interim dividend is ₹10.86 crore. The said dividend on equity shares will be credited to the members as per the records of the depositories as beneficial owners of the equity shares, as on November 22. The interim dividend will be paid on or before December 10, 2021. EaseMyTrip has announced its first dividend in April 2021 almost a month after its listing on the stock exchange. The latest development comes soon after EaseMyTrip announced its financial result for July to September quarter of 2021. The company reported over 330% year-on-year increase in its consolidated net profit. Even in this fiscal, we witnessed phenomenal growth across all segments in the H1FY22 [first half of financial year 2022]. It also reflects a strong recovery of India's travel sector, which was severely impacted by the pandemic,” Nishant Pitti, chief executive and cofounder of EaseMyTrip, said. The company offers access to more than 400 international and domestic airlines, over one million hotels as well as train/bus tickets and taxi rentals across India. EaseMyTrip was founded in 2008 and claims to have more than 11 million customers. A total of 1.9 crore shares are available for subscription in the IPO. 50% of the issue is reserved for qualified institutional buyers (QIB), 15% for non-institutional bidders and the remaining 35% for retail investors. The proceeds of the IPO are proposed to be used for boosting the bank’s Tier-1 capital base to meet future capital requirements. Nazara holds the licenced mobile gaming rights of popular cartoon characters like Chhota Bheem, Motu Patlu and Shikari Shambhu. It also helps that the company is backed by ace stock market guru Rakesh Jhunjhunwaala. The stock market expert holds 11.38% shares in the company. Analysts too have been bullish about the technology company’s market debut and the potential in the Indian gaming industry. “The gaming industry is set to witness over 30% CAGR (compound annual growth rate) over 2020-2023 (estimated) on the back of high mobile penetration, increasing internet penetration and increasing number of gamers. Nazara has a widespread presence both in terms of geography and product portfolio which offers strong growth visibility,” said a report by Aditya Birla Capital. <ul><li><keyword id="6354418" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="oil-prices" source="Orion">Oil prices</keyword> have surged to their highest since 2014 on fears of supply disruption from one of the biggest oil producers, Russia, after it invaded Ukraine.</li><li>Although oil trade in Russia is exempted from sanctions, several nations are shunning oil to avoid unwittingly violating sanctions.</li><li>Russia is one of the world's top oil producers, exporting reportedly around 4-5 million barrels per day of crude.</li></ul>Oil prices have surged significantly by 43% so far this year mostly because of fear of oil disruption from one of the biggest oil producers, Russia, after it invaded Ukraine. On Wednesday, crude oil prices stood at $109 per barrel. Although oil trade in Russia is exempted from sanctions imposed by western countries, several nations are shunning oil from the country to avoid unwittingly violating sanctions. Fears of further disruption in oil supply were exaggerated after countries started looking for other options to import oil from, if not Russia. The world's biggest shipping firm, AP Moeller-Maersk halted container movement to and from Russia, while Britain has banned all ships with any Russian connection from entering its ports, said a report by Reuters. Also, major oil and gas companies, including BP and Shell PLC , have announced plans to exit Russian operations and joint ventures. Even the US has started declining shipments from Russia into the country. “Global energy security is under threat, putting the world economy at risk during a fragile stage of the recovery,” International Energy Agency executive director Fatih Birol <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/01/us-oil-jumps-to-7-year-high-above-101-a-barrel-as-russian-assault-prompts-supply-shortage-fears.html">reportedly</a> said in a statement. <div type="javascript" title="Custom" contenttype="Image"><cdata><![CDATA[]]></cdata></div> The Indian economy could be the worst hit because of the jump in oil prices as the country imports 80% of its oil needs and any rise in oil price increases the import bill. Crude oil surges significantly to $109 per barrel as countries look for options other than Russia

Most of them, including Zomato, Nykaa and PolicyBazaar, are trading way below their listing price and much of the gash has come in the last three weeks, On January 24, one of the top losers in this basket was Zomato, which fell 18%. Analysts like Abhay Agarwal, founder and fund manager at Piper Serica, <a href="https://www.livemint.com/market/stock-market-news/why-zomato-shares-have-plunged-over-12-in-5-days-should-you-buy-the-stock-11642751883576.html">believe</a> that this fall in the markets is driven primarily by market correction in Nasdaq over the last month.
