<ul><li>The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) are meeting in Rome next week to discuss their plan for <keyword id="8055800" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="planetary-defence">planetary defence</keyword> against asteroids.</li><li>The two-part mission dubbed <keyword id="3084215" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Asteroid-impact">Asteroid Impact</keyword> Deflection Assessment (AIDA) plans to collide with asteroid Didymoon — the smaller of the Didymos’ binary system.</li><li>NASA is in charge of conducting the actually impact while ESA will analyse the aftermath.</li></ul>Hundreds of asteroids are <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/two-asteroids-bigger-than-the-japan-tsunamis-are-coming-eerily-close-to-earth-today/articleshow/70870605.cms">whizzing past Earth</a>. Thanks to satellites and telescopes watching the skies, we know more about them than ever before — including the threats they pose. To counter incoming asteroids, the European Space Agency (<a href="https://www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Space_Safety/Hera/Europe_and_US_teaming_up_for_asteroid_deflection">ESA</a>) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are teaming up to deflect an asteroid as proof-of-concept for planetary defense. They’re going to double tag the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/another-pair-of-asteroids-is-going-to-whiz-past-earth-on-14-september-bigger-faster-but-further-away/articleshow/70873664.cms">dual asteroids</a> dubbed Didymoon and Didymos. The aim is to knock out the smaller asteroid — Didymoon — and then analyse the crash site.

 ESA, NASA and other researchers from around the world are meeting up in Rome next week to check in on their progress for the mission dubbed Asteroid Impact Deflection Assessment (AIDA). NASA is going to collide with the asteroid AIDA has two parts to it that are divided between the ESA and NASA. The American space agency will be using their Double Asteroid Impact Test (<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/for-an-asteroid-to-wipe-out-humans-it-has-to-be-bigger-than-the-one-that-killed-the-dinosaurs/articleshow/70893317.cms">DART</a>) spacecraft to collide with the Didymoon asteroid.

 DART will travel at a speed of 6.6 kilometers per second to break the space rock into smaller pieces with help from its onboard camera — DRACO — and autonomous navigation software. An Italian CubeSat, LICIACube, will be flying alongside DART to record the impact and send the data back to the on-ground team. ESA will analyse the asteroid impact ESA will then tag in to analyse the asteroid post-impact to get more details on the asteroid's new size and the resulting impact crater.

 ESA is calling its part in the mission ‘Hera’, which is also be accompanied CubeSats for a closeup survey of the asteroid impact’s aftermath. This will be the first time that an asteroid will be subject to a radar probe.

 The aim of analysing the asteroid after the impact to figure out if the planetary defence mechanism can be made more efficient. DART can do it alone, but it’s better with Hera "DART can perform its mission without Hera – the effect of its impact on the asteroid’s orbit will be measurable using Earth ground-based observatories alone," explains Ian Carnelli, managing Hera for ESA.

 "But flying the two missions together will greatly magnify their overall knowledge return. Hera will in fact gather essential data to turn this one-off experiment into an asteroid deflection technique applicable to other asteroids," Carnelli explains. It’s going to take more than a year to reach the Didymoon The launch window for the NASA’s DART spacecraft to launch will begin in late July 2021. NASA is planning to launch from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California abroad SpaceX’s Falcon 9.

 The plan is for DART to reach the Didymoon in September 2022 when the binary asteroids will be around 11 million kilometers from Earth. The AIDA workshop next week will share progress on the DART spacecraft and collate information on the targeted asteroids that will fly by Earth on 7 October 2022. NASA and the European Space Agency are meeting to defend the Earth against asteroids

<ul><li>Dual asteroids are rare and even more infrequent when they are big in size.</li><li>Asteroid 467317 (2000 QW7) is as big as the Shanghai Tower — the second tallest building in the world.</li><li>The two asteroids are set to pass by Earth in the same 24-hour window on 14 September 2019.</li></ul>Two asteroids already whizzed past Earth this week and now, two more are set to fly by on 14 September 2019. But this time around, the pair will be bigger and faster — but also further away. The first asteroid, which will be bigger than the Empire State Building and India’s own Statue of Unity, is set to whiz past Earth at a speed of 23,000 kilometers per hou. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) estimates that the asteroid dubbed <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/The-10-biggest-asteroids-that-could-crash-into-Earth-in-2019/3467317-2000-QW7/slideshow/70686174.cms">467317 (2000 QW7)</a> could be anywhere between 290 meters to 650 meters in diameter. So, at its largest, the asteroid measures around the same size as the Shanghai Tower — the second tallest building in the world. And, it won’t be alone. In the same 24-hour window, Asteroid <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/The-10-biggest-asteroids-that-could-crash-into-Earth-in-2019/504800-2010-CO1/slideshow/70686170.cms">504800 (2010 CO1)</a>, estimated to be between 120 meters to 260 meters in diameter, will be flying past the planet at a speed of 51,696 kilometers per hour. Both them of them are going to be around 5.3 million kilometers from Earth as they make their visit. This is the second time in the span of a month that dual asteroids are whizzing past the planet. On 28 August 2019, two asteroids — <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/two-asteroids-bigger-than-the-japan-tsunamis-are-coming-eerily-close-to-earth-today/articleshow/70870605.cms">2019 OU1 and 2019 QS</a>— flew past Earth within hours of each other. Don’t fear, but who’s gonna be there? NASA’s Center of Near Earth Object Studies is tracking both the asteroids and do not seem to pose any danger as of now. Should that change, NASA’s current defense plan against any incoming asteroids is the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) — which is still under development. Elon Musk, Founder and CEO of SpaceX, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/elon-musk-says-we-have-no-defence-against-asteroid-god-of-chaos/articleshow/70748251.cms">opines</a> that, “A big rock will eventually hit Earth eventually and we currently have no defence.” In June, astronomers have already shown that in case an asteroid poses a threat — then can move people out of harm’s away in time. When asteroid 2019 MO was barrelling towards Earth on 22 June 2019, scientists at the University of Hawaii used the ATLAS and Pan-STARRS telescopes to detect the asteroid’s path. They were able to confirm that the asteroid would burn up in the atmosphere, over the ocean, 400 kilometers away from San Juan. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/historys-most-famous-science-satellites-have-grown-to-enormous-proportions/articleshow/49279291.cms">ATLAS</a>, which is actually two telescopes in Hawaii — one on Big Island and the other on Maui — scans the skies every two days for asteroids that could be heading towards Earth. It claims to be able to detect small asteroids 12 hours in advance and bigger asteroids will be on their radar days before they’re anywhere near Earth. Another pair of asteroids is going to whiz past Earth on 14 September — Bigger, faster but further away

The launch of Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, scheduled to carry <keyword id="19939779" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NASA-astronauts" source="keywords">NASA astronauts</keyword> <keyword id="21544825" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sunita-Williams" source="keywords">Sunita Williams</keyword> and Barry Wilmore to the International Space Station (ISS) was on Monday (local time) postponed after a valve glitch in the upper stage of the rocket set to propel it to space. Rocket company United Launch Alliance's Tom Heter III the director overseeing the launch announced the decision to delay the launch about two hours before the expected lift off from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, United States. NASA announced on social media platform X that the problem was identified with an oxygen valve on part of ULA's Atlas 5 rocket and that the space agency, Boeing and ULA have "scrubbed the launch opportunity on May 6 for the agency's Boeing Crew Flight Test to the International Space Station due to a faulty oxygen relief valve observation on the Atlas V rocket Centaur second stage. The crew and rocket remain safe and more information will be forthcoming." It said that NASA astronauts Wilmore and Williams exited the Starliner spacecraft at Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida and will return to astronaut crew quarters. This would have marked the first human crewed flight for Starliner with Indian origin Sunita "Suni" Williams piloting the craft with fellow NASA pilot Barry "Butch" Wilmore. Boing had designed Starliner to rival the Dragon capsule of Elon Musk's SpaceX which carried out its crewed flight test in May 2020. SpaceX has handled most of NASA's crew transportation needs since then. However, just two hours before the scheduled launch, a valve glitch in the rocket's upper stage forced mission managers to call off the mission. It was a frustrating setback for Wilmore and Williams, both seasoned astronauts ventured to space on two previous journeys aboard NASA space shuttle and Russian Soyuz missions and had impressive backgrounds in naval aviation. The disappointment was tangible as they unstrapped from their seats, their hopes of soaring into space momentarily grounded, CBS News reported. Incidentally Sunita Williams has named the spacecraft "Calypso" for her love of the ocean and in reference to the ship of famed explorer <keyword id="21556039" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jacques-cousteau" source="keywords">Jacques Cousteau</keyword>, who sailed across the world on his own ship named bearing the same name. Despite the setback, the seasoned duo maintained their composure, knowing that space travel demands patience and resilience. Clad in their distinctive Boeing pressure suits, Wilmore and Williams awaited news of the next launch window, ready to embark on their celestial journey at the earliest opportunity, as reported by CBS News. The Atlas 5 rocket, renowned for its reliability, stood ready for its milestone 100th flight - to launch Boeing's Crew Space Transportation (CST)-100 Starliner spacecraft. The plan was that following separation from Atlas 5, Starliner engines will burn taking it the rest of the way to orbit and on to the International Space Station, according to ULA. The Atlas 5 had successfully launching scientific spacecraft to Mars on five different occasions, plus research investigations to the Sun, the Moon, Jupiter, the Asteroid Bennu and Pluto The Atlas 5 consists of two major components: a booster and Centaur, its so-called upper stage. Starliner sits on top of Centaur, which in turn rests on the booster. The booster powers everything off the launchpad. During the flight, Centaur is designed to separate from the booster, propelling Starliner into a proper orbit. Then, Starliner separates from Centaur and flies on its own. It has delivered US national security assets into space, launched weather observatories that all Americans depend upon and deployed commercial satellites to connect the world. Williams, selected as an astronaut by NASA in June 1998, has spent a total of 322 days in space on two missions and accumulated 50 hours and 40 minutes of cumulative EVA time on seven spacewalks. Williams worked with Roscosmos on its contribution to the space station and with the first Expedition crew. Meanwhile, 61-year-old, Wilmore has logged 178 days in space and has 25 hours and 36 minutes of time on four spacewalks. NASA has been waiting half a decade for Starliner to begin flying crew, and the development of Starliner was beset by years of delays, setbacks and blunders. More broadly, Boeing as a company has suffered years of scandals in its aircraft division that have tarnished the legacy aerospace giant's brand, CNN reported. If successful, the Crew Test Flight could queue up Boeing to begin flying routine trips to the space station on NASA's behalf. Boeing has already planned six manned missions for the platform over the next six years, the projected end of the ISS' operating lifespan. NASA plans to use both SpaceX's Dragon and Boeing's Starliner to send up astronauts at least every six months from US soil. Both Boeing and SpaceX were given the responsibility in 2014 by NASA to send commercial crew missions to the ISS. Boeing received over USD 4 billion in US federal funds to develop the Starliner, while SpaceX received about USD 2.6 billion. Generally this means incremental changes and not serious upgrades for consumers to be excited about. I was also in the same boat until I got my hands on the X100 Pro. The new smartphone while carrying a similar design has stepped up a notch especially in the camera department. And honestly, this is why an X series smartphone stands out, the all new camera set-up deserves your attention. However, is a good camera enough for you to consider this as your next flagship? I will tell you in my detailed review. Price &amp; Availability Vivo X100 Pro is available in one variant that packs in 16GFB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It is priced at ₹89,999. Camera Performance Since the X100 Pro features the most significant upgrades in the camera department, it is important to cover this aspect first. The X100 Pro features a 1-inch 50MP primary sensor with laser autofocus and OIS. This is also a floating lens. It is paired with a 100mm 50MP periscope telephoto sensor with OIS and 4.3X optical zoom. Finally there is a 50MP ultrawide sensor. These cameras are packed together at the back in a fairly large circular camera module. Notably the all three cameras have Zeiss’ flavor to them and it shows up. The freedom to just point and shoot adds to the joy since the camera captures a great amount of details, with color accuracy. The dynamic range is excellent with surprisingly good highlights. White balance in bright outdoors isn’t something that would bother you since that is also perfect. I have clicked a good amount of pictures with a ton of moving subjects in the streets of Hong Kong with this smartphone and it didn’t disappoint me. The noise is minimal with the images and the depth of field is also satisfactory. The default images are of 12.5MP which are fairly good, and I didn’t find a need to shoot full 50MP unless I had to edit the images later. Using the periscope lens with different focal lengths also delivered consistent and solid results. Especially at the 4.3X/100mm focal length where I assumed the camera would falter, but it didn’t. The image results were stellar with hardly any focus shift which surprised me. The dynamic range was excellent and I didn’t notice any noise. However 4.3X is not where it stops; you can actually take it to the 100X as well. Is it the best in the business? That's debatable, but does it get the job done? Yes. The images do get grainy as you would expect with the maxed out zoom, however if you are trying to capture action with it, you are in good hands. You can have a look at the samples below for reference. Now if you zoom out and switch to the ultra wide sensor, it performs in a text book format. This means while it doesn’t have anything out of ordinary to offer, it manages to deliver expected results. Which are brilliant. What stays consistent here is the color accuracy which remains intact through and through. Now the X100 Pro is also using algorithms actively and might I say efficiently as well. This comes in full display when we take low light shots. It has a night mode which kicks in automatically. When you take an image, it takes a good 3-4 seconds to process it and show you the results. What we see is a highlighted product with results which definitely surprised me. The details are perfect with satisfactory dynamic range in place. The image results remain consistent across all photo modes, be it ultrawide or telephoto with the camera delivering detailed outputs. Now let's talk about close-up shots and portraits. Starting with the portraits here, which are enhanced further with a buffet of filters we get on the X100 Pro. My favorite is the monochrome filter since it delivers crisp portraits with perfect edge detection. We get 5 focal lengths for portraits here, 24mm, 35mm,50mm,85mm and 100mm. And while the first 4 use the primary camera, the 100mm uses the telephoto sensor. For me the best results were from 50mm focal length since it balances out what I expect from a portrait. Super Macro mode also lets you play with different focal lengths at 25mm and 46mm. You can also go upto 4.3X and 8.6X if you want. You would notice the camera being switched from primary to telephoto here. I observed the best results at 8.6X. Not only did this allow me to maintain a respectable distance from the subject but also captured the action in detail. You also have a pro mode over here, which allows you to tinker with every aspect of the camera. From ISO to focal lengths, there are enough options here that you can learn professional photography and terminology. Let’s talk videos now, the primary camera here can record upto 8K videos at 30FPS. It can do that with 1X and 2X. Rest of the cameras can also record at 4K 30 &amp; 60FPS. There is also always electronic stabilization here. The video results from the X100 Pro definitely gave me real confidence to shoot content with. With the output showing color accuracy and optimal brightness. However, I did notice the camera struggling with capturing action shots, and audio output was not always the best from the primary camera. The selfie camera on the X100 Pro is a 32 MP shooter that can record videos up to 1080P at 30FPS. The selfie camera is where the X100 Pro falters a bit, with the camera slapping an AI filter on top smoothing out the skin. You can turn it off, and there will be a significant shift that you will notice right away. The skintones then are generally accurate and the dynamic range is alright. Videos from the front camera are good enough if you want to vlog with the camera, however the size of the smartphone might discourage you to shoot with it the entire day. However, as an overall media device, the X100 Pro wins big thanks to the plethora of camera options and a battery to support it. Now that we have covered the camera aspect of it, it’s time to cover other aspects. The build quality is also commendable since it comes with IP68 water resistant rating. I would like to point out though, that it is in fact a big phone, and if you have small hands then you will take time to adjust to it. At the bottom we have the type-C port along with the speaker grill and SIM card slots. The X100 Pro supports 2 nano SIMs. The variant available in India will be the Asteroid Black which is also the one I reviewed. It has a matte finish on the back which avoids finger prints. The feature is making a comeback lately, it's a welcoming addition and definitely useful in more cases than one. The back as I mentioned in the camera section features a massive camera module that takes up half the space. It is also protruding significantly, which is a small give away for the camera performance we experience here. I also like the ring around the module which gives a vintage look to the smartphone.The flash placement is fresh at the top right which is becoming common as the sensor size grows bigger in cameras. We also observed this in the OnePlus Fold. Display The X100 Pro features a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 3000 nits of peak brightness and 120Hz of max refresh rate. As one would expect this display is of flagship caliber. I have used the X100 Pro for almost a month now as my primary driver, and my experience has been generally favorable. I am one of the majority of people who like watching content on their smartphones, and that's what I have done here as well. The X100 Pro is a perfect companion for watching content since it supports HD content across platforms. I have been binge watching What If Season 2 on Disney Plus Hotstar as I type this. The animated show looks brilliant on the display with spot on HDR and no white noise. The projection is crisp and it remains so across platforms. It doesn’t support Dolby vision which generally doesn’t make a difference in real time. However its surprising that we don’t see it on a flagship device. I also read content on my smartphone and the big 6.7-inch display with 120Hz of max refresh rate comes in handy to scroll through the web pages. I tried using the smart switch here, which works decently. However I prefer to use the maxed out refresh rate since it doesn’t really affect the battery and delivers a smoother experience. The refresh rate of course comes in handy while playing games as well. I have been playing Genshin Impact &amp; COD Mobile regularly here and the experience is top notch. With no jitter or lag. Auto brightness is one aspect which I feel Vivo can work on since I did find myself manually shifting the brightness more often than not. Especially indoors. You also have an always on display here which also has a healthy option for widgets for you to tap into. The display is paired with a fairly loud dual speaker set-up which is sufficient for you to enjoy your content. Software Vivo X100 Pro runs on Android 14 out of the box with Vivo’s Fun OS skin. Right off the bat what Vivo gets right here is not including any bloatware. I mention this because sometimes we see 3rd party apps sneaking into flagship devices as well these days. The experience of using the X100 Pro is familiar yet fresh. The UI is easy to understand with the addition of usual Android add-ons. We have the familiar placement of the drop down menu and shortcuts like three finger swipe for screenshot. You also have add on features in the sound department like you can set the sound for different apps. This adds to the customisation aspect of the smartphone. Vivo is also promising 3 years Android updates and 4 years of security updates on the X100 Pro. Performance The Vivo X100 Pro is powered by Mediatek Dimensity 9300 SoC. This is my first bout with the Mediatek SoC, but since I have experienced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 already I have a point of reference. The flagship processor has so far been at top of its game in my everyday experience. The smartphone is snappy to use with no lag as of yet. The applications boot up quickly and switching between windows has been a piece of cake. I have maxed out the settings on all the games that I have tested and the performance is streamlined. The consistency is impressive in terms of managing heat and delivering HD graphics. For reference I also ran a Geekbench 6 test on the smartphone. The single-core score is 2181 while the multi-core score is 7263. These are respectable numbers and in range with what you expect from a flagship smartphone. The variant with me packs in 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. This is also the only variant being introduced in India. While I feel the 1TB variant should have been launched as well, I understand that could have been an overkill for most people. This spec sheet is apt for most buyers giving enough storage for your applications and images. There is also a RAM boost feature which adds another 16GB to the mix however I really don’t see any use of it. The 16GB base RAM is more than enough to handle heavy tasks. The smartphone runs on a 5400 mAh battery that supports 100W of Flash charging. The smartphone doesn’t take more than 35 minutes to charge from 0-100% making it efficient. The average screen on time during my testing has been in the range of 7 hours, again a number which is flagship worthy. Verdict The X100 Pro not only delivers on its promise of providing a solid camera but also manages to impress in other aspects. You can expect impressive battery performance, stellar display, intuitive UI all put together with the most impressive camera I have seen on a Vivo smartphone. If optics is your top priority and you don't want any compromises, then X100 Pro should definitely be in your list.

This marathon, to be done only once in one's life, includes separating all your stuff into five distinct, ordered stacks, and then keeping only those items which "spark joy" in your body.The real question, of course, is this: Could an act as simple as 'tidying up' actually make you feel better?Kondo's <a href="https://marissahuber.com/2015/03/05/5-reasons-marie-kondos-tidying-worked-for-me/">"Konverts"</a> (their preferred name for themselves) say yes. When deciding what to keep or discard, Konverts are instructed to "hold each object firmly in both hands as if communing with it" and to "pay close attention to how [their] body responds," Kondo outlines in a follow-up book to "Magic" called <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Spark-Joy-Illustrated-Organizing-Tidying/dp/1607749726?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=1607749726&amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;redirect=true&amp;tag=thewaspos09-20">"Spark Joy.</a>" When something sparks joy, Kondo writes, "you should feel a little thrill, as if the cells in your body are slowly rising. When you hold something that doesn't bring you joy ... you will notice that your body feels heavier."Getting rid of these joy-less objects, then, should help give you a sense of increased lightness and peace, right? Unfortunately, the <keyword id="41551" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="science">science</keyword> is a little more complicated than that. But familiarizing yourself with it can help you set real goals for yourself - and make room for some real magic to happen.<h2>Clutter, stress, and depression</h2>It's not surprising that feeling surrounded by a sea of stuff is linked with feelings of stress and depression. But precisely how these feelings are connected - including whether one actually causes the other - is a bit murkier.In their 2012 book, <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Life-Home-Twenty-First-Century-Families/dp/1931745617">"Life at Home in the Twenty-First Century: 32 Families Open Their Doors,"</a> a team of archaeologists, anthropologists, and other social scientists from <a href="http://www.celf.ucla.edu/" target="_self">UCLA's Center on the Everyday Lives of Families</a> detail some of the findings from their 10-year systematic study of home life in 32 middle-class, dual-income families in Los Angeles. Among other things, they found that for many families, the task of managing their material goods - their stuff - was a <a href="http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/trouble-in-paradise-new-ucla-book">large source of stress</a>, especially for mothers.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><a href="https://flic.kr/p/8A3MGC">Flickr/Ashton</a></div></div></div>A <a href="https://undecidedthebook.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/saxbe-repetti-pspb-2010.pdf">2009 study</a>, which looked at levels of the stress hormone cortisol in married couples, found a more precise link between clutter and stress in women. Women in the study who rated their homes as "cluttered" or full of "unfinished projects" tended to have cortisol patterns linked with chronic stress and other poor health outcomes. These women also reported having increased depressed moods over the course of the day. On the other hand, women who rated their homes as more "restful" or "restorative" tended to have healthier cortisol patterns and also reported a decrease in depressive feelings throughout the day.When it's present in excess, clutter and disorder can sometimes point to a bigger health problem. Depression, for example, can <a href="http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/depression/basics/symptoms/con-20032977">make a simple task like showering difficult</a> and turn something like cleaning out a desk into an insurmountable chore. Similarly, <a href="https://theacpa.org/living-with-pain">chronic pain</a> and <a href="http://www.addcenters.com/articles/disorganized_adult.htm">ADHD</a> can get in the way of getting organized.At its most severe, compulsive hoarding - keeping so many objects that they overtake living spaces and interfere with someone's quality of life - is a <a href="http://www.dsm5.org/Documents/Obsessive%20Compulsive%20Disorders%20Fact%20Sheet.pdf">specific disorder of its own</a>. The psychology manual known as the DSM-IV estimates that some 2-5% of Americans may suffer from hoarding disorder.<h2>'Tidying up' and feeling good</h2>Just because there's a link between clutter and negative feelings doesn't mean there's a link between organization and happiness. But some studies suggest that physical orderliness - a clean, neatly organized office, for example - may be linked with some positive outcomes, like eating healthier.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">REUTERS/Thomas Peter</div></div></div>A <a href="http://pss.sagepub.com/content/early/2013/08/01/0956797613480186">2013 study</a> comprised of three different experiments, for example, found that when they gave a set of volunteers in two types of rooms a choice between a chocolate bar and an apple for a snack, the people in a cluttered room were more likely to choose the chocolate bar, while those in the neat room were more likely to choose the apple. When the same participants were given the option to donate money to a charitable cause, those in the orderly room also tended to give more money than those in the disorderly room.
