<ul><li>The University of Delhi (DU) has directed the colleges to conduct a forensic examination of the documents supplied by applicants for admission. </li><li>The admission process is expected to begin from 30 May 2019. </li><li>The university will access the class 12th results of applicants from Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) database.</li></ul>The University of Delhi is getting in detective mode. It’s mission: weed out fake documents submitted in student applications. While the students brace up for the admission process in Delhi University Board exam results, the university has <a href="https://www.indiatoday.in/education-today/news/story/delhi-university-contacting-cbse-to-get-marksheets-directly-for-du-admissions-to-reduce-fake-document-submission-html-1480006-2019-03-17">directed the colleges to test the documents</a> submitted by the students to keep its authenticity in check. The authority has asked for the forensic analysis of the documents at the time of admission, which is expected to commence from 30 May 2019. The document forensics will be initiated in association with the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) database. The move will allow the University of Delhi to access the class 12th results of the students. This comes in the back of raising concerns around the fraudulent cases in the recent past. Last year, the DUSU President Ankiv Baisoya was accused of <a href="https://www.ndtv.com/delhi-news/delhi-university-files-police-complaint-in-ankiv-baisoya-fake-degree-case-1950085">submitting fake documents</a> to the university, which led to the cancellation of his admission. Stressing on the need to have a policy in place for analysing applicants’ documents, a university official reportedly raised concerns over uniformity among the students across the varsity colleges. “Till now, different colleges had different identity cards and there was no uniformity. From this year, the identity cards will look similar but have the name of the college stamped on it. It was also found that some colleges were issuing identity cards after six months of a student getting admission, so it was felt that smart ID cards needs to be introduced,” <a href="https://www.financialexpress.com/education-2/du-admission-2019-varsity-directs-colleges-to-carry-out-forensic-examination-of-documents-furnished-by-students/1591648/">PTI reported.</a> The verification and admission process While almost <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/education/news/du-directs-colleges-to-carry-out-forensic-examination-of-documents-furnished-by-students/articleshow/69549289.cms">80% of the applicants</a> come from CBSE, the varsity will have to conduct a separate examination of the remaining 20% of potential students. The students applying for admission will reportedly have to register in the university portal, following which they have to confirm their affiliation with CBSE. Given that, the filtered category will then undergo forensic evaluation of documents. As a standardised mechanism, the Delhi University admissions will access the students on a 70:30 ratio — for theory and practical exams, respectively. Colleges like Aryabhatta, Deshbandhu have already released their first list and other colleges are also expected to roll them out on Friday. The cut-off list will be available on the official website of <a href="http://du.ac.in/">DU</a> and also on the official website of the respective colleges. According to media reports, 70,000 students have scored 95% and more in class 12, so the cut-off is expected to be higher than last year. As the first cut-off list for all colleges will be out today, the admission process will start from October 4, 10 a.m., till October 6, 11:59 p.m. The last date for making the online payment of college fees is October 8, 5 p.m. The entire admission will be online like last year due to COVID-19 scare. Make sure the forms are filled out correctly as it will be duly verified by the admission committee. DU Admission 2021: All you need to know about the online admission process

The <keyword id="151282" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="University-of-Delhi">University of Delhi</keyword> will announce the second cut-off list for admission to undergraduate courses on 4 July 2019. The document verification and admissions under the second cut off will take place from 4 July to 6 July 2019. While the third cut-off list will be announced 9 July. The varsity announced the first cut-off on 27 June, a day ahead of the schedule. Abiding by the guidelines from Delhi High Court, the University of Delhi had extended the registration date for the admission process till 22 June 2019. Here’s a checklist of necessary documents for <keyword id="7349923" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="du-admissions-2019">DU admissions 2019</keyword>: <ul><li>Marksheets of class 10th and 12th examination.</li><li>Birth Certificate and three passport-sized photographs.</li><li>For the SC/ST/OBC/EWS/CW/KM and sports categories, students are required to carry relevant documents and certificates.</li></ul>The admission for the 2019-2021 batch will enroll students for nearly 56,000 seats for the under-graduate courses. While, for the PG courses, the university has offered around 9,500 seats. Nearly 282 new seats have been added to the Delhi University courses. The number of students scoring 95% and above has increased by 38.4% this year, which is expected to impact the cut-off criteria of universities. This year, the National Testing Agency will conduct an entrance examination for the University of Delhi, for certain courses. While admissions to most of the undergraduate courses will take place according to their respective cut-offs.

New Delhi, Apr 10 () Delhi University (DU) is considering making its entire admission process online to minimise the students' visits to the varsity in view of the situation arising out of the coronavirus pandemic, according to officials. Although the university has put the registration process on hold due COVID-19, its admission branch is working towards strengthening the process. According to the officials, the varsity has begun the process of collecting information from colleges amid a likelihood that there will be a little time left for preparations after the lockdown ends. In a letter to principals of all DU colleges on April 9, Professor Shobha Bagai, Dean (Admissions) said, "There has been a conscious effort to minimise visits of the students for physical verification of the mandatory documents during the admission process". "In the current scenario, it has been recommended that it becomes more imperative to have the complete admission process online, which also includes the online verification of the certificates," the letter said. Bagai also asked the colleges to upload necessary information on their websites and send the link to the admission branch. In the letter, she also directed the colleges to constitute a "strong" admission team for the process. "A team of reasonable number of student volunteers along with a Faculty Mentor be formed. The student volunteers must remain available during the time of admission to answer any related query pertaining to the admissions in the college," the letter said. DU had implemented the first phase of 10 per cent expansion in EWS (Economically Weaker Section) seats in 2019-20 and the remaining 15 per cent enhancement will be completed in 2020-21 academic session, according to the letter. The colleges have been requested to declare the seats in each course, category-wise on their websites. "With respect to certain course-wise combination of subjects, if there were any additional eligibility criteria, the same must be communicated to the admission branch by April 13," the letter said.
