The Domino’s data breach has exposed 1 million credit card details along with 180 million order details. The database includes details like mobile numbers, names, home addresses, payment type and social login tokens. Rajashekhar Rajaharia, another security researcher, also <a href="https://twitter.com/rajaharia/status/1384079086927052801">confirmed</a> the breach, along with a data tree that reveals all the details that have been accessed by the hackers. Apart from the data of Domino’s India’s users and orders, the hacker also got access to data of 250 employees of the company across different departments like IT, Legal, Finance among others. Rajaharia has confirmed to Business Insider that this is the same hacker who breached MobiKwik earlier last month. He says that the hacker sold the database to a reseller who has now posted the details on the dark web. A credit crunch could worsen the bank turmoil and commercial real estate could be next domino to fall

<ul><li>The <keyword id="608402" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="data-breach">data breach</keyword> of 50 million <keyword id="6354576" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="facebook">Facebook</keyword> accounts can potentially have a huge impact on <keyword id="3658" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>, where it has its largest user base.</li><li>Aside from just Facebook accounts, there’s a risk that third-party apps that use <keyword id="1553161" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Facebook-Connect">Facebook Connect</keyword> to login may have been breached as well. </li><li>Some of India’s most popular apps like <keyword id="830092" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Zomato">Zomato</keyword>, <keyword id="964794" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="BigBasket">BigBasket</keyword>, Quora, Dominos and <keyword id="2739840" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hotstar">Hotstar</keyword> use Facebook Connect as their user authorisation method.</li></ul>It’s concerning that while Facebook made a <a href="https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/09/security-update/">statement</a> about 50 million Facebook accounts being hacked and that another 40 million were at risk, they haven’t shared any information about the kind of data that has been stolen. With Facebook’s largest user base in India, with 270 million <a href="https://www.statista.com/statistics/268136/top-15-countries-based-on-number-of-facebook-users/">accounts</a>, Indian users have a lot to be worried about. Not just in terms of their account on the social networking platform but all the apps on their phone that use Facebook to log in. The country’s IT ministry has already asked the US-firm to share details on the country-specific impact of the breach. According to sources at PTI, Facebook has stated that they’re currently in the process of sharing ‘preliminary information’ with the government. Risk to other sites Facebook Connect, when it was launched back in 2008, it was intending to be a to a convenient tool for both businesses and users, where Facebook would serve as the conduit. In just a few taps, users could now use their Facebook login and passwords to access any app. Some of the most popular apps in India like the food delivery app Zomato, Hostar and SonyLIV for video streaming and Quora use Facebook to enable login. This especially concerning since users have the option of saving their card details on apps like Zomato, Dominos and BigBasket to make frequent payments. Though Facebook hasn’t said anything on the third-party app breaches, the stolen 'access tokens' can potentially be used to gain access to other sites, provided an account has been previously authorised. While it’s uncertain how the Indian government will address the matter, Facebook could potentially face a <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/facebook-faces-potential-1-63-billion-fine-in-europe-over-data-breach-1538330906">fine</a> of $1.63 million in the European Union.

50 million Facebook accounts breached, why Indian users should care

<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image">REUTERS/Mansi Thapliyal</div></div></div>A hacker group called Rex Mundi blackmailed the French and Belgian operations of Domino's Pizza for €30,000 (around $40,600 USD), threatening to release stolen account information of over 600,000 Domino's customers, <a href="http://www.itnews.com.au/News/388195,dominos-pizza-blackmailed-over-mass-customer-data-leak.aspx">reports ITNews</a>.
The hackers wrote <a href="http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fdpaste.de%2FbXb9&amp;oq=cache%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fdpaste.de%2FbXb9&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.1592j0j4&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;es_sm=122&amp;ie=UTF-8">on a web clipboard service</a> that each record contained a customer's name, address, telephone number, email address, and password. The group claimed to have 592,000 such records for French customers and 68,000 for Belgian customers.
<a href="https://twitter.com/dominos_pizzafr">The Domino's France Twitter account</a> confirmed the breach and referred to the hackers as "seasoned professionals," adding that "it is likely that they are able to decode the encrypted information, including passwords."
Though the Rex Mundi Twitter account <a href="https://twitter.com/RexMundi_Anon">is now suspended</a>, it formerly stated that Domino's customer data is quite vulnerable to thieves, as it is stored in a relatively unsecured format.
A Domino's spokesperson said that the affected data in question only involved names, email addresses, and phone numbers, and emphasized that no banking or financial information was accessed, as the company doesn't retain it.
Instead of paying up, Domino's <a href="http://www.standaard.be/cnt/dmf20140613_01139638">took the breach to the French authorities</a>, making this attempted blackmail on the company the latest in a series of Rex Mundi's failed attempts to turn a dime from its hacking skills. According to The Register, the group published "thousands of customer loan records after it <a href="http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/06/22/payday_loan_data_breach/" target="_blank">attempted to extract $15,000 from</a> payday loan provider Americash Advance" and failed to get paid for stealing and "<a href="http://news.softpedia.com/news/Hackers-Publish-Names-of-12-000-Customers-of-Belgian-Hosting-Firm-AlfaNet-439566.shtml" target="_blank">subsequently publishing</a> 12,000 names of Belgian hosting firm Alfanet."

Hackers Blackmail Domino's Pizza

How a viral video sparked the theft of hundreds of thousands of carsBria Jenkins was enjoying an evening at home last November, watching television with her kids and waiting for a Domino's delivery. But when she opened the door to grab the pizza from the delivery driver, she got a serious shock: There was broken glass strewn on the ground and her 2013 Kia Optima was gone — stolen from right in front of her house. "I started freaking out. I was like, 'Am I dreaming?'" she told me.Patti Lebeau-Chorn experienced a similar nightmare one morning last August. She had parked her 2015 Kia Sorrento, which her late parents had helped her buy, across the street at a golf-course parking lot while volunteering at her temple in Los Angeles. But when she went to drive home, she couldn't find it anywhere. Lebeau-Chorn and Jenkins are just two victims of an unprecedented surge in car thefts that has swept across US cities in the past two years. In Milwaukee, car thefts <a href="https://www.tmj4.com/news/local-news/milwaukee-common-council-mulls-solutions-to-kia-hyundai-thefts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">have doubled</a> since 2020. In St. Louis, they <a href="https://jasher.substack.com/p/how-tiktok-caused-a-surge-in-auto?utm_source=post-email-title&amp;publication_id=1234332&amp;post_id=98187589&amp;isFreemail=true&amp;utm_medium=email" target="_blank" rel="noopener">spiked</a> 157% from the second half of 2021 to the second half of 2022. Other major metro areas across the country — <a href="https://gothamist.com/news/nyc-auto-thefts-reach-16-year-high-mirroring-nationwide-trend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York</a>, <a href="https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/chicago-police-announce-crackdown-on-car-thefts-as-stolen-vehicle-numbers-climb/3053812/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chicago</a>, and <a href="https://xtown.la/2023/01/30/los-angeles-car-thefts-increase-in-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Los Angeles</a> — have seen similar increases.The cause of this wild car-theft spree? A viral TikTok. The <a href="https://www.insider.com/tiktok-kia-challenge-using-usb-cables-to-steal-cars-2022-7">"Kia Challenge" video</a>, which first appeared in 2021 and regained popularity in July 2022, showed how to easily hijack certain models of Kia and Hyundai vehicles using only a USB cord. While the video was quickly taken down by TikTok each time it resurfaced, the damage was done: 70% of the cars stolen in Milwaukee last year and 50% of the cars stolen in Chicago this year were from the two South Korean manufacturers.The situation has become so critical that two major auto-insurance companies, State Farm and Progressive, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/state-farm-progressive-insurance-policies-kia-hyundai-car-thefts-2023-1">have stopped insuring</a> vulnerable Kia and Hyundai models. And dozens of class-action lawsuits filed around the country are attempting to force the manufacturers to either issue a recall or fix the cars' vulnerability. The trend has become not just a financial burden for consumers and a legal nightmare for Kia and Hyundai, but has spotlighted what happens when a business cuts corners: It's often the people least responsible who bear the burden. <h2>Safety shortcuts</h2>The TikTok video that sparked the challenge — a how-to <a href="https://www.dexerto.com/entertainment/tiktok-kia-challenge-users-warned-not-try-trend-1885947/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> created by user @robbierayyy — exposed a security flaw in Kia models from 2011 to 2021 and Hyundai models from 2015 to 2021. The cars from that time don't have electronic immobilizers, a safety device that uses a unique chip in the key fob. Cars with this tech won't start unless they recognize the correct key, making them far more difficult to hot-wire. Without that system, anyone could unscrew the steering column in the older Kias and Hyundais and insert a USB into the ignition before driving away. The simplicity of this "hack" led to a huge surge in thefts of the cars. While there's no federal database of thefts by specific model, the numbers in large cities are staggering. In <a href="https://www.kuow.org/stories/seattle-sues-kia-and-hyundai-after-rise-in-car-thefts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Seattle</a>, thefts of Kias and Hyundais increased by 363% and 503%, respectively, between 2021 and 2022. In <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news/kia-hyundais-stolen-chicago/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chicago</a>, 1,000 Kias were stolen in October alone. And in Portland, Oregon, the number of stolen Kias <a href="https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/portlandpolicebureau/viz/MonthlyStolenVehicleStatistics/Dashboard" target="_blank" rel="noopener">increased</a> by 916% from January 2022 to January 2023, while Hyundai thefts jumped by 768%. Both the <a href="https://spdblotter.seattle.gov/2022/08/15/warning-to-kia-drivers-recent-spike-in-thefts-may-be-tied-to-tiktok-videos/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Seattle</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/LAPDHQ/status/1562953014838640640?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1562953014838640640%7Ctwgr%5Ed9516719e9bcec7bbfb1ce1e5716632a731f9275%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fqz.com%2Fembed%2Finset%2Fiframe%3Fid%3Dtwitter-1562953014838640640autosize%3D1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Los Angeles</a> police departments put out notices tying the trend to the TikTok challenge. In response to the crime wave, Kia <a href="https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/hyundais-kias-are-easy-targets-amid-boom-in-vehicle-thefts#:~:text=Immobilizers%20are%20standard%20on%20all,or%20as%20a%20running%20change." target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a> immobilizers to their 2022 models, and Hyundai has added them to cars built since November 2021. So far there's been no recall on the already-compromised models, though Kia and Hyundai both noted in statements to Insider that they are providing steering-wheel locks to affected car owners through some police departments — in Kia's case, 23,000 locks to over 120 departments nationwide. But many people have questioned why the companies didn't have such a standard feature in their cars in the first place. In <a href="https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/hyundais-kias-are-easy-targets-amid-boom-in-vehicle-thefts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2015</a>, 96% of vehicles from other manufacturers had immobilizers, but only 26% of Kia and Hyundai cars did, according to a Highway Loss Data Institute report. While the US does not mandate the tech, electronic immobilizers have been common since the late 1990s, when the European Union <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/256044677_The_Engine_Immobilizer_A_Non-Starter_for_Car_Thieves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mandated</a> them for all new cars sold there. Neither Kia or Hyundai have explained why their vehicles didn't have this safety feature.Ann Davison, the Seattle city attorney, acknowledged TikTok's role in the theft spree but placed the underlying blame on the car companies themselves. "What really has happened is that Kia and Hyundai chose to cut corners in cost in their least-expensive models in a period of years," she told me. Davison is one of the lawyers who has filed a class-action suit against the manufacturers (one lawyer estimated several dozen such lawsuits existed across the country). The suits were recently consolidated into one case in California, the home of the two manufacturers' American headquarters. Jonathan Michaels, a lawyer at MLG Attorneys at Law in California, who is representing Lebeau-Chorn, said his firm had been watching the situation unfold since the Kia Challenge took off in the middle of last year. "We thought that Kia and Hyundai might take some type of corrective action to prevent further harm," he said, either by issuing a recall of the affected cars or offering compensation to victims. "We were surprised when they didn't." Michaels' complaint alleges that the manufacturers failed to disclose that the cars lacked immobilizers, "thereby misrepresenting the vehicles' safety, ease of theft, and value to consumers." He also argued that the real problem came down to the bottom line. "The reality is these are just very cheaply made cars where every corner is cut to save a nickel," Michaels said.In a statement to Insider, a Kia spokesperson wrote that "potential lawsuits against Kia by municipalities are without merit. All Kia vehicles are subject to and comply fully with rigorous testing rules and regulations outlined in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards."Both Kia and Hyundai told Insider that in response to the thefts, the companies have introduced a free anti-theft-software upgrade, as Hyundai noted, "to prevent the vehicles from starting during a method of theft popularized on TikTok and other social media." The upgrades are being offered through Hyundai and Kia dealerships, and Hyundai's CEO <a href="https://www.hyundainews.com/en-us/releases/3768" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has said</a> the company is prioritizing the vehicles "most targeted by thieves."<h2>A nightmare for carmakers</h2>The ripple effect of the Kia Challenge could have extreme repercussions for manufacturers — especially since State Farm and Progressive <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/state-farm-progressive-insurance-policies-kia-hyundai-car-thefts-2023-1">decided not to write insurance policies</a> for the vulnerable models in some cities. According to Mark Friedlander, the director of corporate communications for the Insurance Information Institute, it's a significant move. "They're taking unique steps we've never seen before," he told me, adding that Kia and Hyundai "need to do much more to resolve the issue."And it's not just insurance that's becoming a problem. Andrea Amico, the founder and CEO of Privacy4Cars, a company that addresses automotive data-privacy issues, told me other companies are taking steps to avoid risk. "There are garages that are refusing to have these vehicles in their garage because they're concerned about the liability if the car is stolen," Amico said. "And if you cannot insure your car and cannot park, this has an immediate impact on what the asset is worth." Luckily for Kia and Hyundai owners, the still-pervasive shortfall of vehicles for sale means <a href="https://www.nbc4i.com/news/investigates/better-call-4/better-call-4-does-security-flaw-affect-resale-value-of-hyundais-kias/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the value of the cars hasn't dropped</a> too much despite the theft problem. But that could change. Moving forward, manufacturers will likely need to think about how quickly a viral video can expose product flaws, Venkatesh Prasad, the senior vice president for research at the Center for Automotive Research, told me. "The question is what do you do about that exposure," he said. Prasad said that consumers expect companies to immediately issue fixes like hardware or software upgrades, but these Band-Aid solutions could mean that break-ins will become more sophisticated, because unlike producers of security systems, perpetrators have more free time and share their tricks on social media. "It's a cat-and-a-mouse problem," he said.Long-term risks or repercussions for the companies, if any, will likely hinge on the outcomes of the lawsuits. In the end, the real brunt of this problem won't fall on giant, global car manufacturers but on the people who are having their lives disrupted.<h2>'Kia Boys back at it'</h2>Five days after her car was stolen, Lebeau-Chorn received a call from a police officer that it had been found. A friend drove her to a tow yard, where she found her car in a sorry state. The door handles had been spray-painted black and the wires from under the hood and the steering wheel had been ripped out, she told me. Clothes she had planned to donate were strewn around the car, the license plates were missing, and the glove compartment was flung open. Her insurance company declared that her car was totaled. "It was a horrible time for me," she said.According to police <a href="https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/portlandpolicebureau/viz/MonthlyStolenVehicleStatistics/Dashboard" target="_blank" rel="noopener">data</a> and other <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2022/09/08/tiktok-challenge-spurs-rise-in-thefts-of-kia-hyundai-cars.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a>, most of the stolen vehicles have been recovered — the cars largely intact, but trashed. After Jenkins' car was stolen, a tracker in her car led the police to where it was left, 14 minutes from her house. In order to haul the car back home, she had to use the same tactics employed by the thieves: cracking open the steering column and using her own USB cord to start it. Fortunately, the only real damage was a broken window, but she couldn't find a replacement in Atlanta and ended up driving five hours to get it fixed. The culprits behind the thefts often <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@vesterp1/video/7161916100882615594?_t=8aJuQNhk9Ta&amp;_r=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">refer to themselves</a> on TikTok as "Kia Boys." (In a <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20220725152436/https://www.tiktok.com/@robbierayyy/video/7119588490127363370?_t=8UHLzoAg8TG&amp;_r=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">screenshot</a> of what appears to be the original video, @robbierayyy used the hashtag #kiaboyz.) The joyriding has resulted in a couple fatal accidents. In October, four teens between 14 and 17 were <a href="https://www.kgns.tv/2022/10/25/4-teens-killed-crash-possibly-linked-tiktok-car-theft-challenge-sheriff-says/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">killed</a> in Buffalo, New York, after a stolen Kia they were riding in crashed. In Illinois last month, three 13-year-olds were arrested after being seen in a stolen Kia that <a href="https://abc7chicago.com/stolen-kia-car-crash-robbins/12805852/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hit and killed</a> a 71-year-old man. And while there are plenty of videos of joyriders, there are also dozens of viral videos from people documenting their experiences recovering stolen cars. In one, the user <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@mrsmillionaire/video/7191925968213151018" target="_blank" rel="noopener">@mrsmillionaire</a> went inside her Kia to find the USB still dangling from the ignition. "That is a phone charger y'all," she says. In another, <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@lina.bakman/video/7161609760759090478" target="_blank" rel="noopener">@lina.bakman</a> filmed the aftermath of what seemed like a theft attempt, showing her backseat full of broken glass and the steering column busted open, with a caption on the video that read "good try Kia boys."For the most part, though, the trend has been more of a financial burden for consumers. Jenkins said the car theft cost her about $400, money she had set aside for a special trip for her daughter's 13th birthday to the Mall of America's Nickelodeon Universe theme park in Minnesota. They weren't able to go."I'm pissed," she told me.Even though the original video was taken down, the hack is now out there, and the thefts haven't shown any signs of slowing down. After Lebeau-Chorn's Kia was stolen, she had no choice but to rent a car while she shopped for a new one. Her insurance company gave her $16,000 for the totaled car, but the additional financial strain was still a burden. After months of careful consideration, she chose a 2022 Subaru Forester. Criminals are stealing hundreds of thousands of Kias and Hyundais &mdash; and TikTok is to blame

Ah, WeWork. The gift that keeps on giving. This week, it was reported that the coworking firm <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-05/wework-ceo-points-to-uber-s-losses-as-example-of-growth-issues">is considering the drastic move of cutting its $47 billion valuation</a> in half before its planned IPO. WeWork's roadshow is reportedly set to kick off next week, but it remains unclear if that'll happen. Some investors that I spoke to said they're still concerned about opacity around WeWork's financials and lack of disclosures. They think ultimately the deal will get done - it just may not be at the company's ideal price.Meanwhile, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/mutual-funds-that-hold-stakes-wework-are-changing-their-valuation-2019-9">even seasoned asset managers are confused about WeWork's valuation</a>, reports BI's Bradley Saacks. Fidelity, which has exposure to WeWork through its massive Contrafund, slashed the fund's valuation on WeWork shares between the end of last year and the middle of this summer, according to a regulatory filing. The mutual-fund giant <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-mutual-funds-value-unicorns-like-airbnb-and-wework-different-2019-7">once valued the company significantly higher than its peers</a> but has cut the valuation of WeWork shares in the Contrafund by roughly a third.Other funds, like T. Rowe Price's Diversified Mid-Cap Growth Fund, have hiked the value of their WeWork stakes.There does seem to be one thing that all the funds can agree on: WeWork is listed in the real-estate section of each funds' reports. Going through a site that aggregates people's personal information, Spokeo, Geise found the comedian's <keyword id="18635" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Amazon">Amazon</keyword> account, his email address, and his house address. Using the email address, Geise found his Amazon Wish List.
Here's where the weaknesses start to show, of course – at the human level. The security expert calls up Amazon customer service (on the phone!) and, thanks to some loopholes and social engineering based on all the data he'd collected, is able to fully take over Stolhanske's Amazon account.
As the dominos begin to fall, Geise manages to take over Stolhanske's AOL account, Apple ID, and main email accounts. POS BECOMES A FAVORITE TARGET OF HACKERS: Last year, hackers were particularly active in attempting to hack into point-of-sale (POS) payment terminal systems as well as Web apps, according to a report from Verizon. Retailers should be mindful of the security risks when building out their apps, or when they begin supporting any of the new POS systems that are on the market, according to the report. "A lot of attackers simply look for vulnerable victims on the Internet and deploy automated attacks," said Verizon's Paul Pratley. As we saw with Target, data breaches can quickly lead to a decline in consumer trust in a retailer, so it's important that companies make online security a top priority in 2014. WAL-MART ROLLS-OUT ELECTRONIC RECEIPTS: Beginning next week, Wal-Mart will start sending its U.S. customers an electronic receipt via email outlining their purchases. The new method for receipt delivery allows Wal-Mart to collect and analyze large amounts of data about customer preferences, such as what they buy, where, and when. The retailer will use those insights to send personalized e-mail offers to customers who opt-in to the program. A Wal-Mart executive describes the program as a sort of loyalty program, but "without the loyalty card." Shopify hit a big milestone - it's now used by more then 100,000 merchants to power their e-commerce sites. The company also said that stores have sold nearly $4 billion worth of gross merchandise value using Shopify's platform. ADOPTION OF MOBILE PAYMENTS SLOWS IN THE U.S., PAYPAL STILL ON TOP: Growth in mobile payments adoption is tapering after a multi-year surge, a new IDC survey finds. Thirty-seven percent of U.S. consumers reported using a mobile payment method of some kind, including both mobile commerce and consumer-side payments made in stores with mobile devices. But that represented only a "relatively modest gain" in consumer adoption over the prior year. The survey found that PayPal enjoyed the highest penetration among consumers. It was used by 58% of those who reported using mobile payment methods.
Achieving adoption beyond a core of early adopters is a challenge for any new technology. As we've written in past reports, for mobile payments to achieve higher penetration into the consumer base, services must be at least as convenient as cash and credit cards, i.e. they must reach what's known as "convenience parity," but they must also provide added services, like purchase-tracking or loyalty program integration that creates added incentives for consumers to part with old payment habits. "Providers need to offer products that add value beyond the payment," says James Wester, IDC's practice director for worldwide payment strategies. RAKUTEN TEAMS UP WITH ALIPAY: Japanese e-commerce site Rakuten is teaming up with third-party payment service Alipay. Rakuten's international shopping service, Rakuten Global Market, will eventually roll-out Alipay for roughly 10,000 shops on its e-commerce platform. The partnership pushes Alipay, which is owned by China-based Alibaba, further into foreign markets, as it tries to become the world's top online payments provider. Just last week, Yahoo Japan announced that it would begin supporting Alipay beginning in June. (<a href="http://www.globaltimes.cn/NEWS/tabid/99/ID/855890/855890.aspx">Global Times</a>)
GOOGLE WALLET NABS DOMINO'S: Google Wallet has scored a significant retail partner. Domino's announced Monday that it would integrate Google's mobile payment wallet into its Android ordering app, offering a "Pay With Google" button at checkout. The pizza giant estimates that its global digital sales reach $3 billion annually. Point-Of-Sale Systems Have Become A Favorite Target Of Hackers

First, the scoreboard:<ul><li>Dow: 17,789, +2, (+0.01%)</li><li>S&amp;P 500: 2,099, +2, (+0.1%)</li><li>Nasdaq: 4,952, +4, (+0.1%)</li><li>WTI crude oil: $49.20, +0.2%</li><li>10-year Treasury: 1.84%</li></ul><h2>US Economy</h2>It's a busy week for the US economy and Wednesday saw the release of five headline economic reports, led by the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/ism-manufacturing-and-markit-pmi-june-2016-6">manufacturing gauges published by both Markit Economics and the Institute for Supply Management</a>.Markit's final manufacturing PMI for May came in at 50.7, better than the 50.5 that was expected and up from the flash reading of 50.5 earlier reported last month. ISM's reading also beat expectations, rising to 51.3 from April's reading of 50.8. Expectations were for this number to come in at 50.3. The prices paid index in ISM's report surged to 63.5, reflecting an increased cost of commodities, while Markit's measure showed the biggest drop in output since September 2009. Overall, both measures showed the US manufacturing sector continues to expand, however modestly, lending some credence to the idea that manufacturing has bottomed and could support gains in GDP growth into the second half of this year. The internals of these reports, however, remain mixed. Also in economic data on Wednesday the April report on construction spending showed spending was down 1.8% against the prior month, more than the 0.6% expansion that was expected. Following this number, Ian Shepherdson, an economist at Pantheon Macro, said, "In one line: Inexplicably grim, but subject to potentially large revisions." Standby. Elsewhere in economic data on Wednesday, the <a href="http://www.nasdaq.com/article/fed-chief-janet-yellen-to-deliver-monetary-policy-report-to-senate-panel-on-june-21-20160601-00890">May report on auto sales </a>was a broad disappointment with figures from GM, Toyota, Ford, and Honda all dropping more than expected. Overall, sales hit an annualized sales pace of 17.45 million units in May, according to Autodata, which expected sales to hit a rate of 17.4 million units. <h2>Beige Book</h2>The Federal Reserve's <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/fed-beige-book-june-1-2016-6">latest Beige Book report</a> - a collection of economic anecdotes from the Fed's 12 districts - showed that labor markets around the US remain tight while overall economic growth is just so-so. "Employment grew modestly since the last report, but tight labor markets were widely noted in most Districts. Demand for labor rose moderately in Richmond, and contacts noted continued difficulty finding workers in numerous occupations," the Fed's report said.Also adding to the bullish reading not only for payroll gains but coming wage increases, the report added (emphasis mine):In Boston, staffing industry contacts observed robust labor demand, particularly for specialized workers in high-skill fields. Contacts in Atlanta and Richmond said high-skill workers in high-demand fields continued to be hard to find, and low-skill jobs were also becoming harder to fill. In St. Louis, contacts that reported having trouble filling job vacancies primarily cited few applicants or candidates lacking the necessary skills. In New York, employment grew modestly, and manufacturing and services firms planned to add jobs in the months ahead. Soft labor markets were reported in energy sectors in Cleveland, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Kansas City, and Dallas.Wages grew modestly since the last report, with increases concentrated in areas of labor tightness. Higher wages were reported for entry-level and lower-skill positions in Richmond and Atlanta. In San Francisco, minimum wage increases pushed up wages for low-skilled workers, with diminishing effects up the pay scale.Atlanta, St. Louis, and San Francisco reported wage pressure for certain high-skilled employees. In New York, a sizable share of service-sector contacts reported higher wages. In St. Louis, more than two-thirds of hiring managers reported increasing wages and salaries by more than they had in the past few years to retain employees and attract new ones.However, in Kansas City, contacts in several industries reported only slight increases in wages and expected similar increases going forward. Wage pressure was minimal in the Dallas District, due in part to compensation at energy services firms that was steady to lower for staff that have been retained. So the oil industry still stinks - <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/dallas-fed-on-millennials-and-productivity-2016-5http://www.businessinsider.com/dallas-fed-on-millennials-and-productivity-2016-5">we know this</a>! - and everything else is good news for American workers. The Beige Book, which is always full of fun anecdata, also indicated that malls were booming in Minnesota and South Dakota according to the Minneapolis Fed's work. Meanwhile, retail storefront property saw a pickup in demand in states where the sale of cannabis is legal, according to the San Francisco Fed. Also in Fed news, it was <a href="http://www.nasdaq.com/article/fed-chief-janet-yellen-to-deliver-monetary-policy-report-to-senate-panel-on-june-21-20160601-00890">announced Wednesday</a> that Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen will deliver her semiannual testimony before Congress on June 21, about a month earlier than usual. This means we'll hear from Yellen on June 6, June 15, and June 21. So, plenty of Fedspeak from the most important member of the FOMC ahead of a July 27 policy announcement that could include the Fed's next rate hike. The June 15 announcement has mostly been eliminated as a likely time for the Fed to move. <h2>The Internet</h2>Mary Meeker's <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/mary-meeker-2016-state-of-the-web-presentation-2016-6">latest presentation on the state of the web</a> dropped on Wednesday. As usual, it was full of great insights - at least, you know, for people who are into that sort of thing - and a few things caught my eye.For one, Meeker spends a good chunk of the early part of the deck running through some indications that the global economy is not doing so well. Meeker cites a collapse in commodity prices as a symptom of flagging demand and also notes the historically low interest rates that are prevailing in a number of developed countries. Meeker also <a href="https://twitter.com/MylesUdland/status/738053475515420672">puts a great frame</a> on the evolution of video, which has most recently been manifested in the live push from services like Periscope and Facebook Live. Meeker calls this shift to products that are "Real-Live" as opposed to the "Semi-Live" offerings like those users get inside Snapchat and the "Live (Linear)" content that began on linear television. This is something I'm thinking about a lot as we've started a twice-daily Facebook Live video update on business news that <a href="https://www.facebook.com/BusinessInsider.Finance/">I'm hosting over on our Facebook page.</a> The whole point is for the video to be a bit least produced, a bit more organic than offerings from other TV-centric competitors, and it tracks nicely with Meeker's vision of video on the web, which is increasingly dominating the medium.
