From there, he went on to draw a salary of $65,000 a year at US companies like Trinity Chemical and Fike Chemical. He would soon come back to India with his wife and children with $40,000 and no plans for the future. He went with the flow and in 1984, teamed up with Kallam Anji Reddy to build Cheminor, which would later (in 2000) be merged with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, also co-founded by Reddy. Six years later, Divi founded Divi’s Laboratories, his own pharma company. Headquartered in Hyderabad, the company makes active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and intermediates. APIs are the key inputs that go into making a drug. From nowhere in 1990, Divi’s Labs is now one of the top three API manufacturers in the world. New Delhi, Apr 1 () Active pharmaceutical ingredients firm Divi's Laboratories on Wednesday said it anticipates certain delays in deliveries of its products to customers due to supply chain disruptions during the lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak."We are currently experiencing some supply chain disruptions during this lockdown period. We are working relentlessly to minimise disruptions in our production and supply schedule," Divi's Labs said in a filing to the BSE.Even though the company has put in place a business continuity plan, due to the restriction in the movement of goods and employees, "we anticipate certain delays in the deliveries of our products to our customers," it added.The company has ensured essential staffing for business continuity while following social distancing guidelines and adopted 'Work from Home' for other staff, wherever possible..., Divi's Labs said."We remain committed in supporting the government to the best of our ability while remaining committed to the health and safety of our employees and their families," Divi's Labs MD Murali K Divi said.Shares of Divi's Laboratories closed at Rs 1881.50 per scrip on BSE, down 5.34 per cent from the previous close. Anticipate certain delays in product deliveries during lockdown: Divi's Labs

New Delhi, Jan 27 () Drug firm Divi's Laboratories on Monday said it has sought shareholers' approval for the re-appointment of Kiran S Divi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.
 "The board of directors, at its meeting held on January 4, 2020, has decided to seek approval of shareholders by postal ballot for...re-appointment of Kiran S Divi as whole-time director and chief executive officer of the company," the drug firm said in a filing to BSE.
 The shareholders' nod has also been sought for the appointment of K V Chowdary as an independent director of the company and re-appointment of Madhusudana Rao Divi as whole-time Director (Projects), the filing said.
 "The voting through postal ballot and through e-voting will commence from January 28, 2020 and shall end on February 26, 2020. The results of the postal ballot will be declared on or before February 28, 2020," the filing said.
 The shares of the company were trading at Rs 1,927 piece on BSE, up 0.78 per cent from the previous close. SID DRR

Divi's Lab seeks shareholders' nod for re-appointment of Kiran S Divi as CEO

<keyword id="139797" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="The-Securities-and-Exchange-Board-of-India">The Securities and Exchange Board of India</keyword> (<keyword id="35210" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="sebi">SEBI</keyword>) has imposed over Rs 96 lakh penalty on Divi's Laboratories' Chief Financial officer (CFO) L <keyword id="1269821" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kishore-Babu">Kishore Babu</keyword> and his close associates including his son for allegedly indulging in <keyword id="6360088" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Insider-Trading">insider trading</keyword> in 2017. "Based on investigation conducted by SEBI, L Kishore Babu, <keyword id="9503208" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="praveen-lingamneni">Praveen Lingamneni</keyword>, Nagesh Lingamaneni, Sri Lakshmi Lingamaneni, D Srinivasa Rao, Radhika Dronavalli, Gopichand Lingamaneni and Pushpa Latha Devi were identified as "insiders" who had, directly or indirectly, traded in the scrip during the Investigation Period," SEBI said in its order issued on July 1. The market regulator alleged that Divi's, a city-based pharma company had made an announcement on July 10, 2017, during market hours that USFDA would lift import alert 99-32 on the company's unit-II at Visakhapatnam, which was price- sensitive information. Kishore Babu who is in a key managerial position allegedly had access to the information even before the announcement was made public, the market regulator said. <keyword id="185315" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="G-Mahalingam">G Mahalingam</keyword>, wholetime director of SEBI, who issued the orders said the persons or entities mentioned may file their replies to the regulator within 30 days from the date of receipt of this order. Total income of the bank during April-June 2020-21 rose to ₹5,233.63 crore from ₹5,006.48 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, mainly due to an increase in treasury income, it said. The shares of IOB closed nearly 5% higher yesterday. Premier Explosives Premier Explosives won an order from Israel Aerospace Industries Limited. The company also added that the order is expected to be delivered within 9 months. The shares of IOB closed over 1% lower yesterday. Future Enterprises Kishore Biyani-led Future Enterprises Ltd (FEL) on Thursday said it has defaulted on interest payment of non-convertible debentures. "The company is unable to service its obligations in respect of the interest on non-convertible debentures (NCDs) due on August 16, 2020, since August 16, 2020 was holiday, interest was due on 17 August 2020," Future Enterprises said in a filing to stock-exchanges. The shares of Future Enterprises closed over 5% higher yesterday. Hindalco Hindalco Industries has signed an MoU with UltraTech Cement to deliver 1.2 million metric tonne of bauxite residue annually to the cement company’s 14 plants located across seven states. Hindalco claims to be the world’s first company to achieve 100% red mud (bauxite residue) utilisation, across three of its refineries. The shares of Hindalco closed nearly a percent higher yesterday.
