As it offers a new range of entire Disney library, Hotstar will increase its annual subscription price to ₹1,499 ($20). This will make Disney+ Hotstar the second most expensive OTT service in India after Netflix to offer a premium subscription at ₹1499. Disney+ was earlier scheduled to launch on March 29. Disney also rolled out a beta app to test the streaming service for select users. But they delayed the launch after health authorities identified clusters of coronavirus in several parts of the country and cancelled the IPL cricket matches. Disney+ Hotstar plans starting at ₹49 spotted following Netflix price cuts

There are five new plans in total starting at ₹501 and going up to ₹2,595. The new plans have been introduced to include the recently launched Disney+ Hotstar Mobile plan. Vi previously offered the Disney+ Hotstar VIP subscription along with its recharge plans. In addition to a one year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar, these Vi prepaid plans also offer unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and 3GB of data per day along with extra data up to 48GB. Customers also get access to Vi Movies and TV Classic service for movies, TV shows, live TV and news. There’s also a data add-on pack priced at ₹601 that offers 75GB of data and Disney+ Hotstar Mobile for one year. This booster pack can be used along with an existing recharge plan. These prepaid plans also come with Vi’s ‘Binge All Night’ and ‘Weekend Data Rollover” offers. Under the Binge All Night offer, Vi users can get unlimited data between 12 am and 6 am daily. Vi launches new prepaid recharge plans with Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscription

New Delhi, With the start of the World Cup cricket tournament, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have rolled out plans to woo cricket fans. Reliance Jio has started offering multiple prepaid plans bundled with Disney+ Hotstar where users will be able to watch World Cup cricket matches. Bharti Airtel has launched two plans, which include unlimited data for 2 days against a payment of Rs 99 and 6GB of additional data with 1-day validity for Rs 49. On the other hand, Jio has rolled out monthly, quarterly and annual plans bundled with data, unlimited voice, and subscription to Disney+ Hotstar mobile. Jio's basic plan is priced at Rs 328 and comes with 1.5 GB high-speed data per day for 28 days and a 3-month Disney+ Hotstar mobile subscription. In addition, Jio has also introduced a Rs 758 plan, which offers 1.5 GB of high-speed data per day for 84 days and comes with a 3-month Disney+ Hotstar mobile subscription. Similarly, plans priced at Rs 388 and Rs 808 offer 2 GB of high-speed data per day for 28 and 84 days, respectively, and come with 3 months of Disney+ Hotstar mobile subscription. In addition, the 84-day Rs 598 plan and the annual Rs 3,178 plan offer users one year of Disney+ Hotstar mobile subscription and 2GB high-speed data per day. With the Disney+ Hotstar bundled plans, Jio users will also get access to Disney+ Hotstar's library of specials, and national and international content, as per the company's website.

Jio, Airtel roll out special plans to woo cricket fans during World Cup

New Delhi, June 7 () Telecom operator Reliance Jio has partnered with streaming service Disney+ Hotstar to offer its prepaid users one year complimentary subscription to Disney+ Hotstar VIP. Disney+ Hotstar VIP offers Hotstar specials, live sporting action, latest bollywood, superhero movies, among others. As per the information on Jio.com, prepaid users opting for plans starting at Rs 401 will be able to avail the Disney+ Hotstar VIP subscription worth Rs 399 for one year, at no extra cost, over and above the other benefits they get in a plan. The offer can be availed by Jio prepaid customers opting for specific monthly pack, annual pack, and add on data packs. The Rs 401 monthly plan provides 90 GB data, unlimited voice calling and access to Jio apps valid for 28 days, and users recharging with this plan will also get one year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar VIP. The offer is also available on Rs 2,599 annual plan which offers 740 GB data, unlimited voice calling and access to Jio app for 365 days, as well as for those opting for combo pack of data add-on vouchers, starting at Rs 612 (12 vouchers of Rs 51). Currently, Hotstar offers an yearly plan at ₹999 and a monthly plan at ₹299. It also offers a VIP plan at ₹365 per year. Disney+ will add another library of originals for Hotstar which is ramping up on providing more content in India. These originals include the Star Wars series, Fairy Tale Weddings, Encore, High School Musical, The Mandalorian, and The World According to Jeff Goldblum. According to TechCrunch, the company will reveal more details on March 13. Hotstar quietly rolls out Disney+ in India -- with dozens of originals including Star Wars and High School Musical

It means the launch with get enough eyeballs as the cricket-loving nation remains glued to the OTT platform, that has rights to live stream it. Hotstar is already the top streaming platform in the country with 300 million monthly users. The OTT platform was also launched in February 2015, just before the ICC World Cup 2015. It is owned by Star India, which in turn is owned by The Walt Disney Company. Disney+ Hotstar premium tier In an earnings call with analysts, Disney chief executive Bob Iger revealed that it will launch the Disney+ service in India. “We’re also excited to announce that we will be launching Disney Plus in India through our Hotstar service on March 29, at the beginning of the Indian Premier League Cricket season. We will be rebranding our existing Hotstar VIP and Premium subscription tiers to Disney Plus Hotstar,” said Iger during the earnings call. The company has not revealed any information about the pricing of the service yet. At present, Hotstar Premium is priced at ₹999 per year but its plans start from ₹365 for the VIP plan which does not include English content. Disney+ to make its Indian debut on March 29 - as a premium offering on Hotstar

<keyword id="7349376" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Disney">Disney</keyword> Plus (Disney+) has delayed its India launch via Hotstar owing to the postponement of the <keyword id="6354831" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="indian-premier-league">Indian Premier League</keyword> (IPL) cricket season. Hotstar had rolled out an update, which not only changes the app's name to Disney+ Hotstar, but also adds Disney+ shows. "We recently announced that <keyword id="46161" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Disney">Disney</keyword>+ would launch in India through the Hotstar service in conjunction with beginning of the Indian Premier League cricket season," Uday Shankar, President, The Walt Disney Company APAC and Chairman, Star &amp; Disney India, said in a statement on Friday. "Given the delay of the season, we have made the decision to briefly pause the roll-out of Disney+ and will announce a new revised premiere date for the service soon," he added. Robert Iger, then chairman and CEO of Disney, had given March 29 as the official launch date of Disney+ in India. As per earlier reports, the Disney+ Hotstar is currently available at no additional charge to existing Hotstar subscribers -- who pay Rs 999 for a year and the premium tier carries a new yearly sticker price of Rs 3,588. Shows like The Mandalorian, Marvel's Hero Project and The Imagineering Story: Limited Series are currently available. The list also includes Diary of a Future President, Disney Family Sundays, Encore, Forky Asks a Question, and High School Musical: The Musical. TechCrunch reported in November that the company was planning to launch its streaming service in India by the second half of the year, followed by its entry in Southeast Asian markets. In terms of downloads, Disney+'s second month garnered 13.5 million, or 33 per cent, of the 40.9 million installs it's seen since launch. Meanwhile, Hotstar, at its peak, reported more than 100 million daily active users and 300 million monthly active users last year. According to media reports, in an effort to prevent the further spread of the novel coronavirus, both Netflix and Disney have halted production on certain projects.
