As per another leak, Apple is working on a technology for its glasses that could project the screen directly onto the user’s retina, without needing a traditional display. According to the claims in the <a href="https://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&amp;Sect2=HITOFF&amp;u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-adv.htm&amp;r=47&amp;p=1&amp;f=G&amp;l=50&amp;d=PTXT&amp;S1=apple.AANM.&amp;OS=aanm/apple&amp;RS=AANM/apple">patent </a>that was filed in 2017, the projection technology called direct retinal projector will feature one or more controllers, a scanning mirror, an ellipsoid mirror, a projector, an adjustable focusing lens and a position sensing detector. Apart from the complex setup, the glasses may also have other components in the final design, as it looks to bring both <keyword id="6369782" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="augmented-reality" source="Orion">augmented reality</keyword> (AR) and <keyword id="6369781" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="virtual-reality" source="Orion">virtual reality</keyword> (VR) components into its future glasses. However, whether these glasses will feature the direct retinal projector is yet to be ascertained. It is highly unlikely that Apple’s first-generation glasses will feature this technology. However, we may see it in its second-generation glasses that could be released in 2023. Apple glasses may feature a direct retinal projector that could project a screen over user’s eyeballs

One important feature that this update brings is the App Privacy Report which is another privacy feature that lets users find exactly how much data apps have on users. The new feature is available with iOS 15.1 beta which is available to developers only. If interested you can sign up your Apple ID to the Apple Developer Program website, download the configuration profile and install the update. Testing a beta version of the update may have bugs that could result in some features or apps not working properly on your iPhone. Coming back to the App Privacy Report, this feature gives users detailed information on what and how much data apps have on you. The App Privacy Report will be available in Settings with details under each app. According to Apple, it will show “how often apps have accessed your location, photos, camera, microphone, and contacts during the last seven days.” In addition to this, the App Privacy Report will even show which apps have contacted other domains and how recently they have contacted them. According to screenshots<a href="https://www.macrumors.com/2021/10/27/everything-new-ios-15-2/"> shared</a> by MacRumors, Apple lists apps with details like the Weather app accessing location information seven seconds ago. It has another tab for app network activity, another for domains contacted directly by apps, and websites visited in the app. With App Privacy Report, Apple is taking user privacy to another level and it’s like an extension of the privacy labels it introduced with iOS 14. This one shows the kind of data apps collect, and which data is used to track you, data that are linked to you and also data that isn’t linked to you. iOS 15.2 beta brings App Privacy Report that shows how apps snoop on you

<keyword id="172543" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tripadvisor" source="Orion">Tripadvisor</keyword> removed <keyword id="3488394" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="paid-reviews" source="Orion">paid reviews</keyword> from 131 countries last year, including "a spike" in such reviews originating in India — but not necessarily for businesses in the country, The Guardian reported. "As a result, India topped the list of countries from which the most paid reviews emanated last year, with Russia dropping out of the Top 10," the report said. Further, the company said its fraud investigators identified 65 new paid review sites and blocked submissions from a total of 372 different paid review sites last year. Almost 1 million reviews submitted for inclusion on Tripadvisor — equivalent to 3.6 percent of the total — were determined to be fraudulent by the website last year, the report said. In its second transparency report — the first was released in 2019 — the travel guidance platform said 67.1 percent of the fake reviews had been caught before making it on to the platform by its pre-posting moderation algorithm. The report said: "While our overall review contributions dropped in line with the slowdown in travel, fraudulent submissions — which of course are not predicated on real customer experiences — did not follow the same trend. Our team remained vigilant and effective at catching would-be fraudsters, and as a result the proportion of reviews we rejected or removed increased compared with pre-pandemic 2018 figures." While they may pose the biggest threat to the platform's integrity and those of the businesses on it, fake reviews are not alone in being removed. In total, more than 2 million review submissions (representing 8.6 per cent the total) were rejected or removed from the Tripadvisor platform, for instance because they included use of profanity. While travel restrictions imposed by Covid led to a reduction in submitted reviews -- the number in August last year (approximately 4m) was half that in August 2018 -- the virus also posed other challenges, which Tripadvisor said led to its team manually assessing an additional 257,022 reviews, of which 46,145 were removed by moderators for violating posting guidelines, the report said. They included reviews containing encouragement to ignore government guidelines, discouraging testing or spreading misinformation, with racially insensitive comments including references to the "China" or "Wuhan" virus or criticising a business for introducing Covid safety measures. To make meetings still more immersive, Cisco has unveiled a new collaboration tool called “Webex Hologram” for video meetings. The technology was <a href="https://newsroom.cisco.com/press-release-content?type=webcontent&amp;articleId=2202545">previewed</a> at Cisco’s WebexOne event. Webex Hologram, as the name suggests, will project immersive 3D holograms through the use of augmented reality (AR) headsets. This new collaboration tool was developed to help teams that require more hands-on collaboration during meetings which isn’t possible when working remotely. Cisco also expects Webex Hologram to help in training physicians to use new surgical devices without having to be physically present. As explained by Cisco, Webex Hologram produces “photorealistic, real-time holograms of actual people.” Participants can share and collaborate with digital content as well as physical content. Both parties will have to use AR headsets to enter the holographic meeting experience. Webex Hologram is compatible with AR headsets from companies such as Magic Leap and Microsoft HoloLens. Cisco also gave an example of using Webex Hologram in the auto industry where participants can interact with a physical prototype of a vehicle, and collaborate on the design renderings of the car. This collaboration tool also supports multiple participants but Cisco did not confirm how many specifically. It’s available to limited participants now and interested companies can apply for the pilot test. Cisco is expected to make Webex Hologram widely available soon. Cisco wants to make virtual meetings more immersive with real-time holograms of actual people just like sci-fi movies

<ul><li><keyword id="6358096" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="snapchat" source="Orion">Snapchat</keyword> now has a monthly reach of 100 million users in India.</li><li>The company announced this milestone at its second ‘<keyword id="12397826" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="snap-in-india" source="Orion">Snap in India</keyword>’ event today.</li><li>It also announced AR partnerships with Flipkart, Zomato, Sugar Cosmetics and MyGlamm.</li></ul>Snap Inc., hosted its second ‘Snap in India’ event on Wednesday, where its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) <keyword id="1659524" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="evan-spiegel" source="Orion">Evan Spiegel</keyword> announced a major milestone of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/apps/news/snapchat-app-witnesses-over-150-growth-in-daily-active-users-in-india/articleshow/85394136.cms" data-type="tilCustomLink">Snapchat</a> reaching 100 million monthly users in India. This is a big jump from the 60 million user base it revealed earlier this year. The company also announced partnerships with Flipkart, Zomato, Sugar Cosmetics and MyGlamm to integrate its AR technology into these platforms. Snap did not reveal its daily active users (DAUs) or monthly active users (MAUs) for Snapchat in India but it said that the app has been witnessing over a 100% growth in DAUs. “For the last seven quarters we’ve been growing at more than 100% when it comes to our daily active users,” Nana Murugesan, managing director of international markets at Snap Inc., told Business Insider in an interview. The app has been witnessing an upward trend in numbers ever since Snap opened its first India office in 2019. It also became the fifth most downloaded social media app in India, according to App Annie. But the app is yet to break into the mainstream social media scene. On this Murugesan said, “We’ve always never looked at ourselves as a traditional platform. We’ve always taken a very innovative approach. The good news is once our community embraces us we see really good stickiness. The retention metrics are very strong so we’re kind of happy with that. We’re happy that every platform has its own place. We’re happy with where we are with respect to doubling down on a creation first approach, a camera first approach and then using that as a way to drive those human connections.” In India, the two key areas where Snapchat is seeing the most growth are augmented reality (AR) and chatting. “One thing which is great about India is that people are really embracing augmented reality and the camera so definitely the camera is extremely engaging and very very strong. As we invest more and more in that particular area that’s seeing very healthy and strong growth.” Murugesan also attributes content partnerships as an accelerator for the platform’s growth in India. At the event, Snap announced that it is partnering with e-commerce platform Flipkart that will use <keyword id="9484375" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="snapchat-ar" source="Orion">Snapchat AR</keyword> for an immersive shopping experience. Snapchat users will also get to virtually try on makeup from Sugar Cosmetics and MyGlamm. Zomato is also coming to Snapchat with the food aggregator integrated into Snap Map, which is an in-app map. Snapchat users will have access to restaurant information including hours of operation, locations, contact details, customer reviews, menus, and photographs. They will also be able to place food orders from Snapchat itself. Another key area of partnership and growth for Snapchat is with Android OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer). India is now the first and only market where Snapchat is pre-installed in over 100 million devices. The company has successfully partnered with all the top Android OEMs to pre-install its app on their devices. It recently announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with Google for the Pixel 6 series where the app opens from the lock screen itself. Murugesan did not reveal if we will see such a partnership with more OEMs, but he did say that the company is “talking to multiple partners“ and wants to “bring this to as many partners as possible”. Snapchat has also integrated its AR filters into the camera app of the JioPhone Next smartphone that’s due to launch next week. Going forward, Snap plans to double down on community engagement through AR in India, and help creators monetise on the platform. “We initially focused on helping creators build their audiences, but now we are helping them monetise too. We’re actually introducing features where fans of creators can gift them. So if you like a creator or really enjoyed something you can give a gift so that’s a way of monetisation. We’re also connecting creators directly to brands through our creator marketplace and 100% of the transaction goes straight to the creator,” Murugesan said. The company also has big plans for content and gaming in India. Phone Swap India, the first non-English Snap Original has been confirmed for two more seasons. We will also see exclusive creator shows with Shehnaaz Gill, Avneet Kaur, Harsh Beniwal and Sushant Divgikar. After the launch of Ludo Club, Snap will now launch another Indian favourite - carrom.
