Apple is hiring engineers and interns for their tech team in India

Set up on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, 15 <keyword id="627109" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Institutes-of-Information-Technology">Indian Institutes of Information Technology</keyword> (<keyword id="758110" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIITs">IIITs</keyword>) may get degree-granting powers this year. The <keyword id="44734" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Government">Indian Government</keyword> is in a hurry to pass an ordinance that will enable these IIITs to give out degrees to its first batch of students passing out this year. If the ordinance is not passed, this may delay degree granting process, thus, leaving future of the students in balance. IIITs in Vadodara, Kota, Chittoor, Guwahati and Tiruchirappalli to get their degrees this year itself. As per ET, the human resource development ministry has already moved the ordinance proposal to the law ministry. Once cleared by the law ministry, it will be taken to the Cabinet and then to the President for approval. Of the 20 IIITs planned to be established on PPP mode, 15 are already functional. “There has been a lot of pressure since last year to address the issue as job prospects of hundreds of students will be affected in the absence of a proper degree. However, the bill was held up last year amid differences between PMO and <keyword id="51613" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="hrd-ministry">HRD ministry</keyword> over the level of autonomy to the institutes and the need to expedite the legislation,” sources told ET. The bill introduced in <keyword id="6355187" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword> seeks to declare the 15 IITs on PPP mode as 'Institutions of national Importance' with powers to award degrees. This will entitle them to use the nomenclature of Bachelor of Technology (BTech) or Master of Technology (MTech) or PhD degree.

For every time that someone calls on my multi-tasking ability and time management skills and being super human on what I can achieve, I just always feel that my abilities are meagre compared to yours. Thank you for never failing to be my Superwoman. I love you more than words could ever express 
 
You are the epitome of forgiveness. When I acted superior because of my fancy education (that you provided), you forgave me. When I refused to understand your ideals and thoughts and called it old-school even though you were always willing to learn my ways, you forgave me. When I was too busy and impatient to teach you how to send an email, you forgave me. When I made you my default punching bag for every little frustration I had, you forgave me every single time. 
 
You just always know it. You set me free when I needed to be, and held me close whenever I felt lost- you just always knew how to make me feel right. Whenever self-doubt is not letting me move ahead, you give me that right amount of nudge that makes me take the next step without fear. Thank you for being my comfy warm blanket and comforting me whenever it feels like the whole world is against me. 
 
I may not remember most memories, but I’m sure you’ve managed to preserve all of them in your photo albums like you always do. When I look at these photos, I’m awestruck by you. You always put me in the forefront and take a back-stage role yourself. But even when you’re not in the frame, I can see you there, as a reflection in my eyes, standing in front of me with the most beautiful smile. 
 
As long as you are around, no matter where my journey takes me, without shame, embarrassment or fear, I will proudly declare it. And wear that label like the badge of honor it is. I am proud to be the daughter of a woman for whom wearing the label is worthy. 
 
As it turns out, I always was and still am a mama’s girl.

An open letter to my Mom: My Super Woman

Imagine starting your own company with the person you’ve been friends with since college. How cool would that be, right? Both of you will chart your own success on your own terms and most importantly, with a person you wouldn’t trade for the world. Plus, you also get to be your own boss. And, who wouldn’t want that, right? 
 
But, like they say- there’s two sides to a coin, which also means that as fun going into business with your friend is going to be, there’s also going to be a few obstacles. 
 
It all depends on how you handle the situation and if at all the decision of starting a company with your friend is really a good idea. 
 To help you decide, we talked to a few startup <keyword id="382595" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="co-founders">co-founders</keyword> who went from being friends to business partners. Here’s what they have to say- 
 
 
On how they became friends and why they became co-founders: 
 
“We were batch mates at<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=IIT+DELHI&amp;sortorder=effectivedate"> IIT Delhi</a>. While Samir was pursuing B.Tech in Physics, Chinmay was an Electrical Engineering student there. The duo worked together in <keyword id="62549" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Robotics">Robotics</keyword> club at IIT, and that is how they got introduced to each other and became friends. 
 Samir was always passionate towards entrepreneurship and wanted to start his own venture. Chinmay seemed to be a perfect partner and they launched together Click Labs in 2011 and eventually moved on to <keyword id="2885078" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jugnoo">Jugnoo</keyword> in 2014.”

 “IIT Delhi is where we met and spent four amazing years. After graduation, Avinash was working with Zomato while Mayank was at Sclumberger. When the idea for Giveter struck him, Avinash was the first one I approached. It took some convincing but eventually Avinash saw potential in the idea and we started our journey as entrepreneurs. Soon after, we started <keyword id="2368386" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Roposo">Roposo</keyword> and haven't looked back ever. Working together has definitely strengthened our friendship; we understand each other’s perspectives a lot better.”

On the advantage of being in business with your friend: 
 
 
 
“Working with a like-minded person, who is also your best friend is a very big advantage for business because it ensures a few things, by default. There is no communication gap, as the thought process is aligned to a great level and also the trust they both of you will enjoy due to your bond will be unparalleled.”

“The biggest advantage of starting a company with your friend would definitely be the fact that you know a person’s personality in and out. This leads to a much better understanding on the professional front too as you are already aware of each other’s strength and weaknesses. The communication becomes much easier and when you think along similar lines, you can collectively work towards your company’s overall growth.

On the disadvantage of being in business with your friend: 
 
“Coming to the disadvantage, we are almost family, and while working with a family member you can't always be direct with a lot of things. If we disagree on something, we would rather discuss it amongst ourselves first and reach a consensus than putting it out in front of the whole team, so that takes a fair bit of time.”

Advice to budding entrepreneurs who are looking to start a company with their friend: 
 
“Friendship should not be the sole criteria for starting a venture together. You can’t be good co-workers with all your friends. There is a lot of difference between hanging out together and working together under pressure. Thus, your qualities should be complementary to each other, so that both of you add value to make your business, a success.”

“What we have learned through our experience is to have a clear vision of each persons role in the company with proper division of the core responsibilities. Don't jump into a startup just because you're friends, having an execution plan is more important. In the end, you always work better with a friend because you have that bond and common understanding, which is very important to lead a team.”
