Asserting that India's improved macro-economic and fiscal indicators were a good backdrop for investments, Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> today asked <keyword id="46431" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="India-Inc">India Inc</keyword> to increase its risk-taking appetite to step up investments. 
 On the other hand, industry leaders were asking the Modi government to cut down <keyword id="37018" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="interest-rate">interest rate</keyword> and more policy action so that there is an ease of doing business. 
 
After the PM met CEOs, bankers, economists and bureaucrats on the global economic slowdown, CII president Sumit Mazumder said, "Prime Minister has said that industry must take risk and increase investments...we must go out and invest. Industry has a role to play." 
 
Mazumder further added, "We pointed out that though the government has done a lot to improve the ease of doing business, a lot more needs to be done." 
 <keyword id="6355988" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Assocham">Assocham</keyword> president Rana Kapoor said that Prime Minister asked industry to "catalyse risk taking ability." 
 "The PM was emphatic that risk-related <keyword id="107737" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Entrepreneurship">entrepreneurship</keyword> should not be subdued, but catalyzed. A lot of new investments could be made in soft infrastructure like affordable housing, hospitals as well as hard infrastructure like roads and highways," said Kapoor. 
 Mazumder said that Finance Minister <keyword id="42575" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Arun-Jaitley">Arun Jaitley</keyword> expressed hope that the Goods and <keyword id="645517" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="services-tax">Services Tax</keyword> (<keyword id="6354679" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="GST">GST</keyword>) implementation will be rolled out soon. But there was no discussion about the land bill.

Additional Sessions Judge Dharmendra Rana allowed the bail to the accused on the condition of two surety of Rs one lakh each. During the three-hour-long bail hearing on February 20, the police said that the 'Toolkit' was a sinister design to defame India and cause violence. "Poetic Justice Foundation and <keyword id="344450" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sikhs-for-Justice">Sikhs For Justice</keyword> in order to hide their involvement, used Disha Ravi as a front to carry out nefarious activity," Additional Solicitor General S.V. Raju told the court, adding that these organisations are connected to the Khalistani movement. The Delhi Police further told the city court that Ravi covered her track and deleted evidence like contents of the Toolkit and a WhatsApp group, which the public prosecutor emphasized showed her "guilty mind". Ravi's counsel Advocate Siddharth Agarwal, however, claimed there is no evidence linking the Toolkit to the violence during the farmers' march on January 26. Ravi faces charges of conspiracy and sedition in the 'Toolkit' conspiracy case related to the farmers' agitation and was arrested from Bengaluru on February 13. The Delhi Police have contended that the google document tweeted by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg to back the farmers' protest and then deleted, was created by Ravi and two other activists -- Jacob and Muluk. This is the view held by five brokerage firms — ICICI Securities/Direct, Motilal Oswal, Prabhudas Lilladher and ShareKhan. They believe that good movies can help them replicate the March success which came with superhits like the controversial Kashmir Files; Rajamouli’s RRR, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Gangubai Kathiawadi, followed up by KGF 2 in April. “They witnessed a March — which was the best ever in the history, led by superlative performances of movies,” ICICI Direct said in its views on PVR and INOX both. The March footfalls made up for half of the Jan-March quarters footfalls in theaters. But both these companies need more than a good month to turn things around. A strong recovery in footfalls and sales of these listed theatre companies will be driven by ‘strong content slate lines’, as per ICICI Direct. If all goes well, it estimates that both these companies can cross their pre-covid earnings in the current financial year. These companies are in desperate need of a ‘recovery worthy’ movie releases. The Tihar jail authorities on Thursday told the trial court that none of the legal remedies of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya rape case are pending, as the court reserved its order on an application filed by the convicts seeking stay on their execution scheduled for 5.30 a.m. on Friday. Additional Sessions Judge Dharmendra Rana reserved the order. The four convicts have been trying to postpone the hanging on the pretext of pending legal remedies. "No legal remedies are pending as of now. Pawan and Akshay's second mercy was also not entertained by the President of India," Public Prosecutor Irfan Ahmad told the court. He said President <keyword id="6354561" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ram-nath-kovind">Ram Nath Kovind</keyword> had entertained their first mercy plea on merits and it was given due consideration. Four convicts -- Vinay, Mukesh, Akshay, and Pawan are scheduled to be hanged by the noose on March 20 at 5:30 a.m. for brutally raping and murdering a 23-year-old physiotherapy student on December 16, 2012.
