With the launch of the Delhi-Male daily non-stop flight, Vistara now offers direct daily flights connectivity from Maldives to two Indian airports – Delhi and Mumbai. Vistara till now has been operating a weekly flight to Male from Mumbai since 2021 and the company says that it has garnered good response with Indians travelling more for holidays. Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, said, “ Maldives has evolved as one of the most popular leisure destinations for Indian travellers and we are happy to be able to offer more choices and flexibility to our customers on this route.” Starting Oct 1, 2023, Vistara will operate to and fro from Delhi and Male. The flight from Delhi has been scheduled at 10:45 am while the one from Male is scheduled at 3:20 pm local time. Meanwhile, the Tata Group-owned Air India has announced non-stop flights between Kochi and Doha in Qatar. The global carrier will operate a daily non-stop service from October 23, Air India said in a statement. "AI953 will depart at 0130 local time to reach Doha at 0345 hrs. The return flight AI954 will take off from Doha at 0445 hrs to land at Kochi at 1135 hrs (All Local Time)," the statement issued on Sunday said.

It has been edited for length and clarity.I haven't traveled alone a lot — this was probably my second flight alone. My parents were worried about me because they think I'm a homebody.I recently started working after college and joined the YouTube team for creator marketing and strategy. There was a creator campaign going on, and their head office is in Mumbai, so I traveled from Delhi for that.The flight was in the air, and everything was going smoothly. Everyone was kind of asleep or just chilling, and suddenly, the cabin crew came up to all of us.Everyone was woken from their naps and asked if a piece of cabin luggage was theirs. To the last row, no one identified the luggage.I was sitting in row nine, so I could see the cabin crew working, and they seemed very confused. And suddenly, the captain announces that we're landing. Turns out, they were diverting to Ahmedabad, which is a good hour away from our destination.They said there was a security concern. And as a person who's not traveled a lot, I was like, "Shit, what's happening?"It took us 15 minutes to land. No one told anyone anything, and everyone was confused. We were asked to vacate the plane immediately.Everyone was supposed to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/japan-airlines-passengers-survived-because-abandoned-baggage-burning-plane-tokyo-2024-1">leave their luggage inside the plane</a>, but half of them took it. I left mine because the pilot himself asked me, and I couldn't say no. It was just very hodgepodge.At this point, you're not a customer of the airline, you're a suspect.The police called out nine or 10 names who could match the handwriting. They took them to a separate area and made them do double and triple checks.Then they took us all in two different sections to write "Bomb on flight," I think 36 times — dividing your tissue into four and writing on alternate sides.Nothing is coming out of it. I think the problem was there was no protocol for this.After three hours, they finally allowed us to get food and go to the bathroom, surrounded by a lot of police.By 8 p.m., everyone had given up hope. This was also the time that everyone was trauma-bonded. I'm talking to aunties and people I've never talked to. We'd exchanged Instagrams. I'm like, "Oh wow, thank you for that compensation for the torture."It was a wild experience. I think people were frightened and afraid at the start because no one gave us any information. We just figured it out on our own. After that, everyone was like, "Hey, this is something we have to get through."

India's domestic air passenger traffic rose 9% to more than 1.27 crore in November, according to official data released on Friday. Last month also saw daily air traffic touching new highs multiple times. <keyword id="6354706" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="indigo" source="Orion">IndiGo</keyword> remained the country's largest domestic carrier but its market share declined to 61.8% in November from 62.6% in October. However, none of the scheduled carriers had an On-Time Performance (OTP) score of more than 80% in November. Official data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday showed that airlines flew 1.27 crore passengers in November compared to 1.17 crore in the year-ago period. This marks a growth of 9.06% on an annual basis. "Passengers carried by domestic airlines during January-November 2023 were 1,382.34 lakhs as against 1,105.10 lakhs during the corresponding period of previous year thereby registering annual growth of 25.09% and monthly growth of 9.06%," DGCA said. The domestic market share of <keyword id="6358032" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="spicejet" source="Orion">SpiceJet</keyword> rose to 6.2% in November from 5% in October. Its OTP stood at 41.8% last month. <keyword id="2573" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="air-india" source="Orion">Air India</keyword>'s domestic market share remained unchanged at 10.5% in November while that of Vistara fell marginally to 9.4% last month. In November, the share of Akasa Air and AIX Connect remained unchanged at 4.2% and 6.6%, respectively. As per the data, Akasa Air topped the OTP chart at 78.2%, followed by IndiGo at 77.5% and Vistara at 72.8%. Air India's OTP was at 62.5% while that of AIX Connect and Alliance Air were at 69.7% and 66.1%, respectively. On-Time Performance (OTP) of scheduled domestic airlines is computed for four metro airports -- Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
