Further, he added, India was globally known only as one of the biggest defense importers, now, India is exporting defense equipment and products to more than 75 countries worldwide. In the last five years, Indian defense exports have grown eight times and stood at USD 1.59 billion (United States dollar) in 2021-2022. According to the Prime Minister, the country now aims to increase defense exports to 5 billion USDs in the near future. With 1,300 defense companies and representatives from over 50 countries, the Defence Expo 2022 is said to be the largest expo held in the country. MGS can be brought into action in just 80 seconds. The MGS weighs 15 tonnes, and the KolosTatra tractor weighs 15 tonnes. The HTT-40 will be used for basic flight training, aerobatics, instrument flying, and close formation flights, including night flying. Defense Expo 2022: A big step towards self-reliance in defense with a new tank, gun system, and more

<ul class="summary-list"><li>US Army soldiers found themselves situated near Russian weapons contractors at an expo in Abu Dhabi.</li><li>At one point, the Russians came over to the US booth and played with Javelins, a Breaking Defense report said.</li></ul>The US is arming Ukraine with deadly weapons to use on the battlefield against Russian forces, but that didn't stop Russians from coming over and checking out Washington's military hardware this week at an expo in the Middle East, according to a <a href="https://breakingdefense.com/2023/02/russians-playing-with-javelins-us-army-russia-display-weapons-yards-apart-in-the-desert/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">new report</a>.US Army soldiers and Russian weapons contractors both had displays at the Naval Defence &amp; Security Exposition, a place for countries to showcase their weaponry and other combat systems, in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates this week, and they were separated by just a few yards, <a href="https://breakingdefense.com/2023/02/russians-playing-with-javelins-us-army-russia-display-weapons-yards-apart-in-the-desert/">Breaking Defense reported</a> from the event.At one point, the Russians reportedly came over to the US stand, where one soldier <a href="https://breakingdefense.com/2023/02/russians-playing-with-javelins-us-army-russia-display-weapons-yards-apart-in-the-desert/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Breaking Defense the mood was friendly and there was even an exchange of patches. At least one of the Russians even picked up a Javelin, an anti-tank missile system that the US military has sent to Ukraine and has been used to destroy Russian tanks. Neither US Central Command, nor the US Army, immediately responded to Insider's requests for comment. The US-provided FGM-148 <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/video-ukrainians-with-javelin-take-out-russian-rocket-launcher-2022-5">Javelin</a>, a portable shoulder-launched weapon, was widely seen as a symbol of Ukrainian resistance during the early days of Russia's full-scale invasion in February and March of 2022. It uses an infrared guidance system to track a target's emission of light and delivers a high-explosive anti-tank warhead. Military experts previously told Insider that the Javelin was a <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/these-game-changing-weapons-helped-ukraine-spoil-russia-war-plans-2022-11#shoulder-launched-anti-tank-and-anti-aircraft-weapons-1">crucial tool</a> that allowed Ukrainian forces to defend against an onslaught of Russian tanks and heavy armor and is one of several notable weapons that have helped Kyiv keep Moscow's troops at bay. Although the interaction between the Russians and US Army soldiers may seem unusual given the Javelin and other US weapons, like the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), are being used to attack Russian troops, the incident at th expo is not an isolated one — friendly engagement amid tension has happened before. US and Russian troops <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/photos-russian-and-us-troops-took-pictures-when-patrols-met-in-syria-2022-10">crossed paths</a> last October in Syria, where they shook hands, exchanged patches, and even posed for photographs together. The US and Russia have backed different sides of the 12-year-long brutal civil war being fought there, and while the exchange last fall was friendly, some other exchanges between US and Russian forces in Syria have been less so, such as when Russian soldiers ran American troops off the road, causing injuries.

American-made models like the MQ-1 Predator, the MQ-9 Reaper, and the RQ-4 Global Hawk have been deployed around the world in a number of countries.In large part, China poses a threat to America's dominance in the drone industry for its ability to make more products that are, at the very least, just as good if not better than the competition, but at a lower price.<h2>China is building impressive and inexpensive drones</h2>The most well-known and used Chinese drones are the CH-3, CH-4, CH-5, and the Wing Loong.The CH-3 and CH-4 propeller-driven drones are essentially Chinese versions of the Predator and Reaper, respectively, and have similar capabilities. The CH-5 has a current range of 4400 miles over 60 hours, and a planned upgrade that will bring it up to 12,000 miles over 120 hours.The CH-5 also has a 2,000 pound payload, and the capability to house electronic warfare systems inside it.The CH-3 and CH-4 have price tags around <a href="http://www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy-defence/article/2081869/chinese-drone-factory-saudi-arabia-first-middle-east">$4 million</a>, whereas the Predator and Reaper can cost $4 million and $20 million respectively. The Wing Loong, another Chinese counterpart to the Predator, is priced even lower, at just $1 million. Even the CH-5, which is currently China's deadliest drone in service, costs "<a href="https://nextshark.com/china-now-selling-deadliest-drone-half-price-americas/">less than half the price</a>" of a Predator.The prices are so low in part because the Chinese drones are not as sophisticated as their American counterparts. The Chinese drones are not satellite-linked, for example, meaning they cannot conduct operations across the globe the way Predators and Reapers can.The Chinese drones are still very capable - all are sold with the ability to carry large amounts of ordinance, and many nations have decided to turn to them in order to fill in the gap left by the US.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV78z5tLua8">Military Technology Zone/Youtube</a>A CH-5 drone at the China International Aviation &amp; Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, China, 2016</div></div></div><h2>The US has restrictive regulations and policies</h2>Lower prices, however, may not the only reason behind China's increased drone sales.A large part of China's increased market share looks is linked to regulations and policies that have been in place in the Unites States for years.In 1987, the US signed the Missile Technology Control Regime, a voluntary pact of 35 nations aimed at preventing the mass proliferation of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles by requiring them to have heavy regulations and tight export controls.Currently, under the agreement, drones that can fly over 185 miles and carry a payload above 1,100 pounds are defined as cruise missiles. The Predator and the Reaper, both of which can carry payloads of 3,000 pounds or more, are thus subject to these regulations and controls.The US has been <a href="http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/lovesick-cyborg/2017/06/30/china-profits-us-hesitates-selling-armed-drones/#.Wgyg8pM-ei4">hesitant</a> to sell drones with lethal capabilities to other countries - especially in the Middle East, because of a fear that they could potentially end up in the wrong hands, and challenge Israel's dominance in the region.In fact, the only nation apart from the US that uses armed American-made drones is the United Kingdom.China, on the other hand, is not constrained by the Missile Technology Control Regime because it never signed it. This means that its products are not under the intense regulation and controls that American drones are.Additionally, China <a href="https://thediplomat.com/2011/09/chinas-dictator-complex/">has traditionally not been as cautious</a> as the the US about selling weaponry and equipment to countries known for human rights violations or in volatile regions and has sold drones to many nations.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Associated PressAn Iraqi CH-4 at an airbase in Kut, southeast of Baghdad, Iraq, October 10, 2015.</div></div></div>In Central Asia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have <a href="https://thediplomat.com/2017/03/china-scores-biggest-military-export-order-for-killer-drones/">purchased</a> a number of Wing Loongs, and Turkmenistan operates the CH-3. In Africa, Nigeria has used CH-3 drones against Boko Haram. Pakistan and Myanmar both operate CH-3's as well.By far though, the biggest market is the Middle East.In 2015, desperate in its fight to counter ISIS gains, Iraq <a href="http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-34510126">bought</a> a number of CH-4s. After giving up on buying drones from the US, Saudi Arabia and the UAE turned to China and are using CH-4s and Wing Loongs in their <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/unable-to-buy-u-s-military-drones-allies-place-orders-with-china-1500301716?mg=prod/accounts-wsj">campaign</a> against Houthi rebels in Yemen. Jordan and Egypt have purchased Chinese drones as well.China is even willing to set up factories <a href="http://www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy-defence/article/2081869/chinese-drone-factory-saudi-arabia-first-middle-east">overseas</a>, which could bypass export restrictions entirely.<h2>China's future drone projects are even more impressive</h2>Last year, at the <a href="https://www.popsci.com/chinas-new-fleet-drones-zhuhai-2016-airshow-displays-future-chinese-warbots-and-swarms">Zhuhai 2016 Airshow</a>, the public was able to get a glance at some of the newest drones China plans to build and export. Among those was the Cloud Shadow, a semi-stealth drone with six hardpoints capable of carrying up to 800 pounds of ordinance.There was also the CH-805, and concept CK-20 stealth target drones, which are designed to help train pilots and test air defenses.Finally, there was the SW-6, a small "marsupial" drone with folding wings capable of being dropped from larger aircraft. Its intended mission is to conduct reconnaissance, but it is considered a prime candidate for China's drone "swarm" project; dozens, potentially hundreds of small drones linked together in a hive mind and capable of swarming and overwhelming targets.China has also just successfully <a href="http://nationalinterest.org/blog/the-buzz/america-no-match-chinas-new-space-drones-23039">shattered</a> the record for the highest flying drone. Previously held by the US RQ-4 Global Hawk, the bat-sized drone was able to fly at a staggering 82,000 feet- 22,000 feet higher than the Global Hawk.Though the drone did not have a camera or any weapons, it did carry a terrain mapping device and a detector that would allow it to locate and mark ground troops, and was virtually undetectable.In addition to all this, China is also looking to increase its satellite capabilities, something that could make China's drones just as advanced as their US counterparts.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4RceYYXKUs">DefenseWebTV/Youtube</a>A Cloud Shadow drone on display at the China International Aviation &amp; Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, China, 2016</div></div></div>In an attempt to combat the loss in sales, the Trump administration, which has not been subtle in its hopes to get foreign countries to <a href="https://qz.com/1122232/trump-is-using-north-korea-to-push-japan-south-korea-and-congress-to-buy-more-pricey-us-weapons/">buy more</a> American-made <keyword id="6354810" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Defense">defense</keyword> products, is trying to ease restrictions on the sale of American-made drones.This includes things like <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-trump-effect-drones-exclusive/exclusive-game-of-drones-u-s-poised-to-boost-unmanned-aircraft-exports-idUSKBN1CG0F4">renegotiating</a> the Missile Technology Control Regime, and allowing a number of countries that are not deemed risky to be able to get fast tracked orders.Though probably interpreted as a way to help the defense industry make more profits, there is actually some logic behind the push. The more China sells drones to countries that are US partners, the more they will become reliant and closer on China."It damages the US relationship with a close partner," Paul Scharre, a Senior Fellow and Director at the nonpartisan Center for a New American Security <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/unable-to-buy-u-s-military-drones-allies-place-orders-with-china-1500301716">told the Wall Street Journal</a>. "It increases that partner's relationship with a competitor nation, China. It hurts US companies trying to compete."For now, Israel dominates the military drone market, with <a href="http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/lovesick-cyborg/2017/06/30/china-profits-us-hesitates-selling-armed-drones/#.WgzA3ZM-ei4">60%</a> of international drone transfers in the past three decades coming from the small nation.However, China sellls far more armed drones, and is gaining momentum on overall drone sales as well. Chinese drones may soon swarm the market - and that could be very bad for the US

The investment, said the company, will enable it to accelerate its plans to attain leadership in the smartwatches category, scale up its business both within and outside India and further strengthen its R&amp;D and design capabilities. "The new funding will allow us to invest significantly to disrupt the smart watches spaces with more innovative products. And we are thrilled that investors continue to have strong conviction and confidence in the boAt story," said <keyword id="158171" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="aman-gupta" source="Orion">Aman Gupta</keyword>, Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer, of boAt. Boat raises ₹500 crores from Warburg Pincus affiliate, Malabar Investments

<ul class="summary-list"><li>A private military defense contractor in China is going full "Black Mirror" with its latest offering.</li><li>The company posted a video on Weibo showing a machine-gun mounted robot dog.</li></ul>China is showing off a terrifying new offering from one of its private military contractors — a robot dog mounted with a machine gun that can be transported via drone. Kestrel Defense Blood-Wing, a verified social media account for a private Chinese military contractor, made a <a href="https://m.weibo.cn/status/4820515972452462">post</a> on China's Twitter-like Weibo platform on October 3. The video shows a large drone carrying a gun-mounted robot dog. The video shows the dog standing up and moving around the rooftop. "War dogs descend from the sky!" read Kestrel's Weibo post. "The heavy-duty drones can deliver combat dogs, to be directly inserted behind enemy lines and spring surprise attacks on weak links. They can also be placed on the rooftops and work with troops on the ground to ambush enemies inside buildings."The dog looks like <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/black-mirror-predictions-reality-2016-10">something straight out of Netflix's "Black Mirror"</a> — harking back to an episode in its fourth season, "Metalhead," where a woman tries to flee from killer robot dogs. This is not Kestrel's first rodeo with robotic dogs. In August, the company also trialed a robot dog that could carry a munitions launcher.The US, too, has found a way to put guns on robot dogs. Ghost Robotics, for one, <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2021/10/14/22726111/robot-dogs-with-guns-sword-international-ghost-robotics">showcased a gun-equipped robot</a> in October 2021.Robot dogs — without attached guns — were also <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4hQ87u6S40">used by the New York Police Department</a> in April 2021. The use of the Digidog, an offering from Boston Dynamics, was <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/nypd-terminates-contract-boston-dynamic-creepy-robotic-dogs-2021-5">terminated in May 2021</a> after backlash from the public. China, however, appears to have a real penchant for robot dogs. At the country's Robot Expo in August, dozens of robot dogs were seen doing a group dance, with plenty of hopping and paw-shaking. Robot dogs were also spotted roaming the streets in Shanghai during the city's COVID-19 lockdown in March. One dog <a href="https://twitter.com/drericding/status/1509478938321559554?s=61&amp;t=bkc3p6woQKJO-_sqo2zg4w">carried a loudspeaker on its back</a> while padding its way through a neighborhood and broadcasting lockdown-related guidelines.

KKR invests $300 million in UPL subsidiary Advanta for a 13.33% stake

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Cory Mills arrived in Congress with grenades and cast himself a champion of local law enforcement.</li><li>An Insider review found that the munitions company he cofounded had sold to foreign governments.</li></ul>Cory Mills landed in Congress like a grenade.Literally: At the start of this term, the freshman Republican from Florida handed out 40 mm grenades stamped with a GOP elephant to congressional colleagues."I am eager to get to work with you on behalf of the American people," he wrote in an accompanying note.The grenades were inert. But the stunt was in line with the type of guns-blazing, America-first rhetoric that Mills, an arms dealer, decorated Army combat veteran, and former military contractor, deployed during his campaign in Florida's 7th Congressional District.Mills, a cofounder of the munitions manufacturer and security contractor Pacem Solutions, positioned himself as a defender of police departments under attack from the "woke" Biden administration. In a 2022 campaign ad, Mills said he "backs the blue" and bragged that his company sold the tear gas that the police used to suppress recent racial-justice and abortion-rights protests.What Mills didn't advertise was Pacem's munitions contracts with foreign governments. Instead, Mills has refused to publicly disclose his connections and dealings with powers abroad while at the same time sitting on two committees overseeing foreign affairs and military spending — as well as wielding the power to vote on foreign arms deals.An Insider examination of his business dealings, though, found that Pacem has had deep ties to foreign governments and is struggling financially.Pacem has repeatedly courted munitions deals with foreign governments over during its nearly decade-long existence. A Saudi government-affiliated national security expo promoted Pacem as one of its featured vendors in 2019, with Mills' face posted across the event's social-media pages. Pacem also exhibited in Abu Dhabi that same year, at one of the largest weapons shows in the world.A representative for Mills refused to disclose all of the countries Pacem has sold munitions to. But Insider was able to identify multiple foreign buyers. In one major contract from 2015, Pacem and a partner UK munitions firm reached a $228 million arms deal with Iraq. Mills confirmed that deal, saying it was facilitated by the US Department of Defense and wasn't entirely paid out. <div type="image" title="fallujah iraq" height="2347" width="3129" msid="98740732" hostid="261"></div>Pacem has sold munitions to Ukraine and Colombia in recent years, according to three sources familiar with the matter, though it's unclear whether those sales are continuing.A spokesperson for Mills did not respond to repeated requests for a full accounting of the congressman's foreign dealings through Pacem. The company's chief legal officer, Joseph Schmitz, said all of Pacem's foreign munitions sales were approved by the State Department. Though Mills told Insider he had divested from the company, he was still listed as executive chair on the website of Pacem Solutions at publication time. Pacem Solutions removed the "Who We Are" page that listed Mills as executive chair after Insider published this article; Pacem's lawyer told Insider that the page was "outdated." Schmitz refused to tell Insider who owned the company but said it would be incorrect to publish that Cory Mills "owns 100% of Pacem Solutions and Pacem Defense."Mills' influence over American military spending while having ties to a munitions company poses the potential for conflicts of interest, an ethics watchdog said."It's an obvious conflict of interest, a no-brainer to anyone with common sense," said Don Sherman, the senior vice president of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a left-leaning nonprofit advocating government ethics reform.Schmitz said Mills' ties to Pacem were "being vetted" by the House ethics committee. "Everything is above-board," he told Insider. The ethics committee's general counsel declined to confirm whether it was currently working to resolve Mills' relationship with Pacem.<h2>Pacem's troubled history</h2>An explosion ripped through the humid air of a small Florida panhandle town midmorning on September 14, 2018.Employees at Amtec Less-Lethal Systems, a riot-control-munitions manufacturer in Perry, Florida, had been assembling flash-bang strips. The blast, which federal workplace-safety inspectors indicated might have been caused by static electricity leaping onto explosive powder, immediately killed one worker and injured another so severely that he died the next week.One month later, Pacem Defense bought the business for $10 million. The explosion loomed over the start of Pacem's ownership of the facility. Repercussions from the incident have contributed to a slew of financial troubles dragging Pacem down.Mills' involvement in the defense and munitions world evolved out of his years in the armed forces and work as a private military contractor. He served in the US Army from 1999 to 2003, according to his discharge paperwork. During that time he was sent to Kosovo and Iraq, and he was awarded the Bronze Star.Mills later spent four years as a military contractor for Dyncorp, where he worked in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to his LinkedIn profile. On the campaign trail and in media interviews he has described being "blown up twice" while on assignment there. He subsequently worked for the federal contractors Chemonics International and Pax Mondial Ltd., before striking out on his own.In 2014, Mills and his wife, Rana Al Saadi, an Iraqi refugee who came to the US in 2008, founded Pacem. Mills described Pacem to Insider as a "turnkey solution," which encompasses global threat analysis, security services contracting, weapons sales, and training.The company appeared intent on quickly establishing a global footprint in the years after its founding. Pacem "delivered millions of defense products around the world to some of the most challenging regions," including explosive cartridges for use in grenade launchers, according to a press release it issued in 2018. Early archived copies of Pacem Solutions' website mention work with international development groups like USAID and showed pictures from Ukraine, Pakistan, and Iraq, among other places. Another archived page showed Pacem with offices in Kabul, Baghdad, and Islamabad.But since the acquisition of Amtec, Pacem appears to have lost value. Pacem Solutions and Pacem Defense are together now worth anywhere from $10 million down to just $2 million, according to a financial disclosure Mills filed in January — equal to or less than the price Pacem paid for Amtec alone.The Amtec explosion, which workplace-safety inspectors concluded was caused by inadequate safety controls, cost Pacem.Mills said the explosion, which occurred before Pacem acquired the company, underscored the need for a thorough intervention into Amtec's processes and facilities. Pacem poured at least $2 million into facility upgrades, Mills told a local news outlet, including improvements related to the explosion."We bought it knowing the company had issues, then we had our engineers redesign certain products that were not working well," Mills told Insider. Financially, COVID-19 also "slowed things down tremendously," he added. In a statement, Mills' spokesperson also said Pacem didn't lay off any employees and gave small raises during the pandemic.Pacem is also loaded with debt: It owes $48 million to a Canadian lender, nearly five times the company's highest potential valuation. Mills said the loan was funding research and development.There are additional issues that have dogged the company. In the past two years, the munitions plant has been forced to shut down twice for failing to pay workers' compensation insurance premiums, according to Florida's Department of Workers Compensation.Schmitz, Pacem's chief legal officer, confirmed the shutdowns but claimed the missed workers' compensation payments were an accidental oversight.Money woes aren't Pacem's only problem. In December 2020, the company blew up or burned several boxes of hazardous waste, according to two people familiar with the incident and a report from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The agency cited Pacem for improper storage and disposal of the waste.Schmitz told Insider that Pacem self-reported the incident and that it wasn't a "big deal," with "no environmental impact."<h2>International arms trader</h2>Mills' congressional campaign played up Pacem's contracts with local law enforcement, claiming that the "liberal media is crying" about the company supplying tear gas that was used against racial-justice protesters. These contracts with local law enforcement represent the bulk of Pacem's client volume, Mills told Insider.But a review of Pacem's contracts suggests its dealings with law enforcement are relatively small-dollar. The company sold roughly $1.3 million worth of tear gas to police departments from 2018 to mid-2021, it reported to a congressional oversight committee. The company sells other products to police departments, like flash bangs, that Congress didn't ask about.The size of those hundreds of tear-gas transactions pales in comparison with just one foreign arms deal identified by Insider.In 2015, Pacem, in partnership with the UK weapons dealer Chemring, signed a contract with the Iraqi government worth $228 million. The deal would have represented nearly 2.5% of the country's entire military expenditures that year, according to data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, which tracks military spending. <div type="image" title="An American soldier with a strip of 40 mm grenade rounds slung over his shoulder." height="2367" width="3151" msid="98740733" hostid="261"></div>Mills said Pacem never received the full value of the contract, which he said was intended to provide "certain types of support in launching counteroffensives against ISIS to drive them out of Iraq." The Islamic State militant group was pushed out of key Iraqi cities before the contract was supposed to close, according to Mills.In 2016, an Iraqi auditing agency raised questions about whether it had overpaid for Pacem's services. Iraq's interior ministry "accepted the pricing and the specs supplied by the company for the product, without forming a technical committee, or asking any of the official trusted consultants to write up specs and details of pricing that are up to date before moving forward to the contract procedure," Iraq's Federal Board of Supreme Audit wrote. Mills said the contracting process was above-board and overseen in part by the US Department of Defense.Pacem's overseas presence extends past the Iraq deal. The company has an office in Dubai, and in 2015 it also had offices in Islamabad and Kabul, according to an archived version of Pacem's website. Mills' wife, Rana, who is described on Pacem's website as the company's executive chairwoman, is the CEO of another Dubai-based company, Abdeen DMCC, according to her LinkedIn page. It's not clear what Abdeen does, and Rana did not respond to questions about Pacem's ownership or Abdeen DMCC.On its website, Pacem says it is "registered" to "legally work" in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kurdistan, Iraq, Ukraine, Kenya, Somaliland, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Brazil, Malaysia, and Dubai. Pacem appeared at the 2019 Saudi National Security and Risk Prevention Expo, an arms and defense sales convention, and the same year was an exhibitor at IDEX, a massive five-day weapons show in Abu Dhabi.Pacem appears to have invested in the Amtec facility at least in part to manufacture weapons for sale abroad, not at home. Mills wrote to a federal regulator in 2019 that he had upgraded Pacem's munitions plant to "manufacture a new energetic product that will serve our allies around the world."Before Pacem bought Amtec, Amtec had delivered on contracts for ammunition worth about $5.6 million with federal agencies, including the Defense Department and Bureau of Prisons. Since the acquisition closed in 2018, Pacem has delivered only $314,110 worth of munitions and consulting services to the US government, according to a federal contracting database. Some federal contracts are classified and may not be disclosed.In Congress, Mills sits on the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services committees, which oversee military spending and foreign weapons sales.Mills' oversight role "could have a huge impact on his business, his competitors writ large," Sherman said. But as it stands, there is no requirement for him to reveal the extent of his dealings with foreign governments.<h2>The arms dealer in Congress</h2>Mills leaned heavily on his endorsement from former President Donald Trump during his congressional campaign. Echoing Trump's election denial and anti-immigrant views, he voiced support for a temporary ban on immigration to the United States and <a href="https://www.orlandosentinel.com/politics/2022-election/os-ne-politics-2022-election-aarp-congressional-forum-20220729-3zvnpsvybbdvph4hnoitnlxwv4-story.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told the Orlando Sentinel</a> that he didn't view the Biden administration as legitimate.In Congress, Mills has sought to position himself as someone who understands American involvement in foreign conflicts from the ground up and align himself with Republicans who are skeptical of US military involvement abroad. He has excoriated the Biden administration for what he's described as its botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, and he's opposed additional American aid to Ukraine.Before he was even sworn in, Mills <a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?524346-1/house-republicans-seek-audit-ukraine-funding" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appeared alongside</a> Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz at a December 2022 press conference touting a resolution to audit US funding for the war in Ukraine."We should not go around thinking that we're always the world's police, and have the answers," Mills said at the press conference, warning of the potential for "nuclear escalation" in Ukraine and an "axis of evil" between Russia, China and Iran.Mills also recently voted for an ill-fated resolution sponsored by Gaetz that would've ordered President Joe Biden to withdraw US troops from Syria, joining a coalition of intervention-skeptical Republicans and progressives.He's also waded into the culture wars, <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/863/text" target="_blank" rel="noopener">introducing a bill</a> aimed at preventing the supposed distribution of sexual material in schools.But so far, months into his freshman term, he's still best known for his grenades. I kinda don't think I should be the boss of anyone. But I love helping solve technical/product design problems," Musk told Agrawal. "Treat me like an engineer instead of a CEO," Agrawal replied. Musk told him that he has tons of ideas, but "I just want Twitter to be maximum amazing". "I would like to understand the technical details of the Twitter codebase. This will help me calibrate the dumbness of my suggestions," he wrote to Agrawal. "I used to be CTO and have been in our codebase for a long time.
