Over the years, and especially in the last one years, we have come to realize that emotions play a big role in consumer decision-making. There have been several studies that have focused on the impact of empathy in consumer purchasing but not many have focused on the impact of empathy in Digital marketing. The study by Instoried was aimed at understanding what is the overall emotion and tonality of digital marketing communications in the BFSI sector and if there was a correlation between empathy and performance in digital marketing. They analyzed Search Ad copies and Social media posts between Jan to May 2021 to draw their conclusions. The report is composed with the help of the organization's proprietary sentiment analysis tool which is capable of showing the percentage of different tones and emotions in a provided piece of text. As a part of the study, around 500 Google Search advertisements that ran between Jan 2021 to May 2021 from various companies of the BFSI sector and their Google Search Ad Ranks were studied. Additionally, around 5000 social media posts from various companies of the BFSI sector along with their 'likes' were also taken into consideration. Instoried’s native AI tool was used to carry out this study. Instoried is built to predict the percentage of positive, negative, and neutral tones in any piece of text. Simultaneously the tool can also analyze the percentage of emotions such as joy, anger, fear, sadness, and surprise can. Thus, by simply pasting a text in the tool, one can check for the tonality and emotional quotient. The text advertisements and captions of social media posts were pasted to obtain the tone and emotion percentage. The tonality and emotions of the social media posts were then cross-correlated with their applause rate or performance i.e, Likes. The tonality and Emotion of the search ads were then cross-correlated with their performance i.e Search Ad Rank. The study observed that the positive tone percentage is higher than the negative tone percentage in most text advertisements. The dominant emotion in the text advertisements was joy followed by fear, sadness, anger, and with the least amount of surprise. The company performing the best on Instagram and Twitter with the most number of likes was <keyword id="75577" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="ICICI-Prudential-Life">ICICI Prudential Life</keyword>. Kochi, Apr 17 () A startup at Maker Village Kochihas developed a drone supported with artificial intelligence(AI) that can help combat COVID-19 by monitoring bodytemperature, supplying essential commodities and sprayingdisinfectants. The unmanned 'Garud' has been designed andengineered by AI Aerial Dynamics at the Maker Village, claimedto be India's largest electronic hardware incubator and ESDMfacility. The integrated solution was developed fullyleveraging globally-benchmarked labs and equipment besidesproduct development software solutions available at MakerVillage. The indigenously-made drone is highly efficientand effective than those currently imported from othercountries, where the applicable payload is lower than that ofGarud and the option for customization is not possible,officials said here on Friday. Garud can monitor roads and bylanes besidesresidential pockets and aerodromes that have been locked downacross the country since March 25 in an effort to check thespread of coronavirus that is posing a global threat to humanlife. Already, Kerala Police are using the drones toensure the efficacy of the shutdown. Also, the aerial vehicle can collect thermal databy using an array of IR sensors and advanced digitaltechnology called EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for GSMEvolution), thus working as a means to combat the pandemic,according to a statement issued by the Maker Village. The vehicle can collect swabs and samples ofpeople for the virus test. It has the capacity to carry weight up to 60 kg,thus facilitating distribution of even essential commoditiesif there is an exigency. Further, Garud can feature a modern sprayer whichcan be used to shower disinfectants from above. It has also a loudspeaker for public announcements,according to AI Aerial Dynamics founder-CEO Vishnu V Nath. "Besides the AI-supported engine, the fully-automated Garud has a high-resolution camera, a facility tocarry weight, a micro-sprayer and thermal scanner. The visuals it generates can zoom into specifics withcentimeter-level accuracy.The images it captures will besimultaneously saved in the operating unit on the ground,"Nath said. "If the vehicle loses range or exhausts battery(capacity: 150 minutes), it will fly down to the point oftake-off." Bansals taking the risk of investing in disruptive innovation make them a rare breed of investors, courageous enough to take risky bets. 
 
"In India, core sectors like healthcare, education and supply chain will be disrupted (by emerging) technology... Those (startups) don't funding easily while consumer internet companies do," Binny Bansal told the ET. 
 
His observation bears out in the numbers. Of the 30 early-stage capital-raising deals struck by healthcare startups since 2014, half were in the form of government grants, according to startup data tracker Tracxn. On the other hand, in the same period, 1,166 consumer internet startups managed to raise seed and angel funding. 
 Industry experts concede it's tough for such deep technology ventures to secure funding. "It is not very easy because you need to understand more of technology when you (want to invest in) deeptech healthcare and robotics," said <keyword id="1617764" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shanti-Mohan">Shanti Mohan</keyword>, founder of Let'sVenture, one of India's largest funding platforms for startups. 
 
For potential investors not familiar with such technology, it becomes difficult to grasp the end uses of the products these startups are developing.

Flipkart founders are taking risky
bets

Venture capital giant <keyword id="144381" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Accel-Partners">Accel Partners</keyword> and <keyword id="3267567" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Infosys-cofounder-Nandan-Nilekani">Infosys cofounder Nandan Nilekani</keyword> has funded the robotics firm <keyword id="3267189" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Systemantics">Systemantics</keyword>, which builds industrial robots for the manufacturing sector. The last time it had received funding was in 2013, when <keyword id="592779" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Blume-Ventures">Blume Ventures</keyword> had invested in the firm. 
 Systemantics was founded by IIT-Madras alumni <keyword id="3267568" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jagannath-Raju">Jagannath Raju</keyword> in 1995. 
 
This is the seventh venture that Nilekani has backed. He has earlier invested in early-stage start-ups which he believes to be building highly impactful disruptive ideas. 
 In the past one year, Nilekani has backed Team Indus, Fortigo, Mubble, Juggernaut, Lets-Venture and <keyword id="1501494" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Power2sme">Power2SME</keyword>, while co-investing in a number of these ventures with Accel, including Fortigo and Power2SME. 
 Even though Systemantics likes to keep a low profile, it has quietly worked on custom robotics projects with the Government, as well as with tech giants like <keyword id="6359357" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Titan">Titan</keyword> and Hindustan Aeronautics (<keyword id="68124" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="HAL">HAL</keyword>).
