The stock made its debut at Rs 111.60, up 3.33 per cent from the issue price on the BSE. Later, it climbed 12.40 per cent to Rs 121.40. At the NSE, it listed at Rs 111.50, up 3.24 per cent. The company's market valuation stood at Rs 1,02,211.38 crore during the morning trade. Shares of NTPC climbed nearly 2 per cent to Rs 368.80 on the BSE. The <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">initial public offering</keyword> of NTPC Green Energy Ltd got subscribed 2.40 times on the closing day of the share sale on Friday. The Rs 10,000-crore share sale had a price band of Rs 102-108 per share. Proceeds from the <keyword id="19898327" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPO" source="keywords">IPO</keyword>, about Rs 7,500 crore at the upper band, will be used to repay or prepay part or all of its subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd's (NREL) outstanding loans, and a portion will be utilised for general corporate purposes. NTPC Green Energy is a 'Maharatna' central public sector enterprise with a renewable energy portfolio, including solar and wind power assets.

It hones in on the under-the-hood adtech tools that <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/google-doj-antitrust-trial-advertising-tech-market-2024-9">power the ad auctions</a> that take place as a webpage loads.Speaking at ExchangeWire's ATS conference in London on Wednesday, The Trade Desk CEO Jeff Green said that Google built its lead in the adtech market by operating the tools publishers use to sell their ad space, the software advertisers use to buy ads, and the exchange that connects those buyers and sellers."They have been the prosecuting attorney, the defense attorney, and the judge and the jury," of the online ad ecosystem, Green said of Google. "The remedy is to say you have to quit at least one of those jobs: You can't be all three."Continuing the analogy, Green said the profession that makes the least amount of money is the judge and the jury. In Google's case, this would be AdX, its ad exchange. However, sustained foreign fund outflows weighed on the local unit and restricted the up move. <keyword id="19950258" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="forex" source="keywords">Forex</keyword> traders said with <keyword id="19900795" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="foreign-investors" source="keywords">foreign investors</keyword> buying US dollars and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) selling the greenback, the USD/INR pair is expected to remain range-bound with a bit of a weakness bias. At the interbank foreign exchange market the local unit moved in a narrow range. It opened at 83.49 against the American currency and touched 83.47 in initial trade, registering a rise of 4 paise from its previous close. On Tuesday, the rupee closed at 83.51 against the American currency. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, was at 104.93, lower by 0.07 per cent. Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, rose 0.69 per cent to <keyword id="19944038" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="USD" source="keywords">USD</keyword> 82.95 per barrel. Despite the marginal increase, crude prices have retreated from their elevated level of USD 84 per barrel. "The decrease in oil prices is poised to positively impact India's trade balance, given that 25 per cent of its total import expenditure is attributed to petroleum product imports. Consequently, the lower oil prices are expected to alleviate pressure on the trade deficit, offering a favorable economic outlook," CR Forex Advisors MD Amit Pabari said. Further, Pabari said that with this the rupee is expected to appreciate as this will reduce the pressure on the domestic currency. On the macroeconomic front, wholesale inflation rose to a 13-month high of 1.26 per cent in April fuelled by rising prices of food articles, especially vegetables, amid expectations of RBI holding interest rates in the policy review next month. Meanwhile, Moody's Ratings on Tuesday said the Indian economy is projected to expand 6.6 per cent in the current fiscal year and said strong credit demand fuelled by robust economic growth will support the NBFC sector's profitability. The stock climbed as much as 21% higher, to $61.66, shortly after trading commenced around noon ET. Shares had been priced at $51, at the top of the expected $47-to-$51 range. The Softbank-backed tech company, which designs most of world's smartphone chips, notched a $54.5 billion valuation after raising about $4.9 billion. Some strategists have pointed to the splashy launch as a potential turning point for the broader IPO market, but others aren't say the blockbuster debut isn't an accurate gauge for the typical company looking to go public. Arm, as well as the impending IPO of Instacart, <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/arm-ipo-instacart-market-dot-com-bubble-investors-finance-stocks-2023-9">may not be enough to revive a market that's still trying to shake off a pandemic hangover</a>.Today, the market is indeed open to new issuance but companies have to come to terms with far lower valuations, according to Craig Coben, former global head of equity capital markets at Bank of America. Private valuations were extreme during the pandemic—a period of historically cheap debt and ample liquidity—and now investors and startups have to stomach marking down investments. "When you have a down round via IPO, you may have to compensate people," Coben told Insider. "It creates all sorts of complications on the cap table for companies, your employees, early investors are underwater. Who's going to take it on the chin?"In any case, when a stock debuts on public markets, it's fueled by hype and complicated by technical and exogenous factors, Coben explained. No matter how the shares move, the perceived success or failure of Arm won't be known on its first day of trading. A longer time horizon — "12 months, not 12 minutes," as Coben put it — will determine whether the company earned a fair, accurate valuation. As for whether Arm's deal signals a thawing of the market for new IPOs, Coben says investors are receptive to new listings but it's nothing like the heady days of the pandemic era.
