New Delhi, Media firm Dailyhunt is in the advanced stages of talks to acquire homegrown microblogging platform <keyword id="20639239" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="koo" source="keywords">Koo</keyword>, a media report said on Wednesday. According to <keyword id="19895623" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="techcrunch" source="keywords">TechCrunch</keyword>, citing sources, the deal is expected to be finalised "within weeks" and involves a share-swap agreement. Founded in 2020, Koo is owned by Bengaluru-based <keyword id="20760807" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bombinate-technologies" source="keywords">Bombinate Technologies</keyword>. The company was founded by <keyword id="20760806" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="aprameya-radhakrishna" source="keywords">Aprameya Radhakrishna</keyword> and Mayank Bidawatka and is often considered to be India's version of Elon Musk's X. In a statement to IANS, Dailyhunt parent <keyword id="20757904" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="verse-innovation" source="keywords">VerSe Innovation</keyword>'s spokesperson said that they have no comment on recent speculations. "Our focus remains on our core objectives," the spokesperson added. In September last year, Bidawatka said that the company is looking to "partner with someone who has the distribution strength to give Koo a massive user impetus and help it grow." In a LinkedIn post, he mentioned that the next phase for Koo is to "build scale and that will happen with either funding or through a strategic partnership with someone who already has scale" in the "current reality of a slow investor market." In April last year, Koo said that it had let go of 30 per cent of its workforce over the course of the year amid the current global meltdown. The company had told IANS that it is important for businesses of all sizes to adopt efficient and conservative approaches to see this period through.

However, they are treading caution when it comes to the different areas they want to enter. “We’re being careful and choosing those opportunities, hopefully wisely, instead of flushing out half a dozen apps out there,” said Bedi in an exclusive interview with Business Insider. According to him, things like product-market market fit, size of the market, the effort put into making an app, and other factors are weighed against each other before anything formally hits the shelves. However, Gupta and Bedi hinted that soon ‘live’ and casual gaming may be among the new use cases that the team is edging to launch. “Think of us innovating on the fly very very quickly to drive multiple use cases for Bharat. It’s safe to say that the pandemic has increased content consumption and SFV is one of the most successful byproducts of it. In India, the SFV user base grew 3.5 times and 12 times in total time spent by all users over the past two years. In 2020 alone, more than 200 million Indians watched SFVs at least once. And active users spent up to 45 minutes a day only on SFV platforms. There was a 60% increase in consumption of SFV during the lockdown period (April-June) as compared to January-March the same year. At present, there are more than 200 million SFV users in India. India’s SFV user base has mostly been men (70%-75%) from tier 2 cities and smaller towns while women take up 25%-30%. This app has over 200 million downloads with 9-12 million creators and 17 average daily minutes. Dailyhunt’s Josh and Glance’s Roposo have over 150 million and 100 million downloads, respectively, and investors like Google, Microsoft and InMobi. The user interface is easy to understand and offers a clutter-free experience. Samsung has announced that it will offer four years of Android updates and five years of security updates with the device. In this segment, most devices only get two years of Android updates so it is good to see Samsung offer four years of updates with the device. The device has its share of bloatware and comes with Facebook, Snapchat, Dailyhunt, Spotify, Netflix and other pre-installed applications. These applications can be uninstalled if you do not wish to use them. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Performance and battery" comment="subhead" text="Performance and battery">Performance and battery</cmsannotation> The smartphone is powered by the Exynos 1280 chipset, just like its predecessor. The device comes in two variants – 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. Samsung should have offered a 256GB variant a lot of users are looking for larger storage these days. However, the company has offered microSD support in the second SIM slot. I played popular titles such as Battlegrounds Mobile India and Call of Duty Mobile on the Galaxy M34 5G. While the device is able to run the game smoothly, we did notice the occasional lag during extended gaming sessions. The smartphone is powered by a huge 6,000mAh battery and offers 25W charging support. While the device comes with a Type-C to Type-C cable in the box, it does not come with a charger. A full charge easily offers over a day of usage for heavy users and two days of usage for normal users.
