The <keyword id="6355014" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-high-court">Delhi High Court</keyword> on Thursday allowed <keyword id="6380276" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Duty">duty</keyword> free import of Amphotericin B, used for treating <keyword id="10432869" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="black-fungus">black fungus</keyword> patients, on furnishing of a bond by the importers, till the final decision by <keyword id="6356303" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Centre">Centre</keyword> on waiving customs duty. A bench comprising Justices Vipin Sanghi and Jasmeet Singh said, "We direct that if any import is made by any person of this drug (Amphotericin B), it shall be allowed on a bond furnished by the importer without the actual duty being paid, till a decision is taken by the Centre." The bench observed that the medicine is essential to save lives of several thousands of people suffering from mucormycosis. In the backdrop of shortage of the medicine in the country, the <keyword id="6355392" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="High-Court">High Court</keyword> emphasised that the Centre should seriously consider waiving customs duty for a limited period or till issues with shortage of medicine exists. On the aspect of the bond for importing the medicine, the High Court said any person can import Amphotericin B and if any import is made by any person, it should be cleared by accepting the bond from the importer without actual payment of duty till the Centre takes a final decision in the matter. Delhi High Court allows duty-free import of black fungus drug Amphotericin B

India's micro-blogging app Koo raises $30 million led by Tiger Global

Previously, the Clubhouse-like audio meet app, Spaces was only available via iOS and Android apps. "Spaces are making their way to Twitter for web! Now you can join a Space to listen in, test out the new transcription design, and set reminders to join a scheduled Space," The micro-blogging platform said in a tweet. Spaces will be available on https://Twitter.com (mobile web and desktop web). The focus areas will be infrastructure and listening UI that adapts to screen size, setting reminders for scheduled spaces and accessibility and transcriptions, the company said. Taking on invite-only audio chat app <keyword id="1293839" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="clubhouse">Clubhouse</keyword>, Twitter earlier this month announced to make Spaces available to users with 600 followers or more on both iOS and Android platforms. Twitter’s Clubhouse-competitor Spaces now available on desktop and mobile browsers

Since the <keyword id="9859756" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="JEE-Mains-Examination">JEE Mains examination</keyword> could not be held at the scheduled time (May 24-28), so the <keyword id="1126172" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="JEE-Advanced">JEE Advanced</keyword> examination, which was going to be held on July 3, has also been postponed, the <keyword id="55119" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Institute-of-Technology">Indian Institute of Technology</keyword>, <keyword id="6357441" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="kharagpur">Kharagpur</keyword> announced. The Union <keyword id="181369" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Education-ministry">Education Ministry</keyword> had decided to conduct the JEE Mains examination four times in the current year. Candidates can appear in all four examinations of which their best test scores will be considered for appearing for the JEE Advanced exam. However, only two of the four sessions of JEE Mains examination have been conducted till now. <keyword id="581232" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Testing-Agency">National Testing Agency</keyword>'s Senior Examination Director, Sadhana Parashar, said the first session of the JEE Mains examination was held in February this year and more than 6,20,000 students appeared. The second session was held in March with more than 5,56,000 students appearing. The third session of the JEE Mains examination was scheduled to be held from April 27 to 30, but had to be postponed in view of the second wave of pandemic. In the sane way, the fourth session to be held on May 24-28 was also postponed. According to the Education Ministry, students will be informed 15 days in advance before the test is conducted. The results of the JEE Main Exam Session 2 which were held in March have been already declared. These exams were conducted in 12 foreign cities and 334 Indian cities. Due to the second wave of Covid-19, the Union Education Ministry had decided to postpone all offline examinations scheduled in the month of May. This decision will be applicable to all central higher educational institutions across the country. Such higher educational institutions, which receive financial aid from the government, will also have to postpone these too. JEE Advanced exam postponed due to surge in COVID-19 cases in the country

Twitter on Monday reiterated to comply with the <keyword id="11355317" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="new-it-intermediary-guidelines">new IT intermediary guidelines</keyword> in India as the <keyword id="6355014" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-high-court">Delhi High Court</keyword> issued notice on a plea against the non-compliance by Twitter India and the Twitter Inc. The plea, moved by advocate Amit Acharya, urged the <keyword id="6355392" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="High-Court">High Court</keyword> to issue direction to the Centre to pass necessary instruction to Twitter India and Twitter to appoint resident grievance officer under Rule 4 of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Ethics Code) Rules 2021 without any delay. The High Court issued notice to the Centre and Twitter, seeking their stand on the plea. A <keyword id="10084554" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="twitter-spokesperson">Twitter spokesperson</keyword> told <keyword id="105681" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IANS">IANS</keyword> that as stated earlier, the micro-blogging platform strives to comply with applicable law in India. "We continue to be strictly guided by principles of transparency, a commitment to empowering every voice on the service, and protecting freedom of expression and privacy under the Indian law," the Twitter spokesperson added. While Facebook, WhatsApp, <keyword id="6355629" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="google">Google</keyword>, Telegram, <keyword id="28120" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Linkedin">LinkedIn</keyword> etc have either fully or partially complied with the new IT rules, Twitter is yet to follow suit. Twitter last week requested the IT Ministry to consider a minimum of three-month extension in order for the company to implement the new intermediary guidelines. Twitter, which witnessed a police raid on its offices in Delhi and Gurugram early this week related to the alleged Congress toolkit controversy, reaffirmed that it continues to accept grievances from users and law enforcement via its existing grievance redressal channel available under the new IT Rules. The company spokesperson had said that it plans to advocate for changes to elements of these regulations that inhibit free, open public conversation. "We will continue our constructive dialogue with the Indian government and believe it is critical to adopt a collaborative approach. It is the collective responsibility of elected officials, industry, and civil society to safeguard the interests of the public," the spokesperson said. The new rules notified in the gazette of India on February 25 under the Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code Rules, 2021, came into effect from May 26. Nearly 68 per cent of employees use one smartphone for both work and personal purposes while 32 per cent use two smartphones, though not always simply one for work and one for personal use, a Google-led study has revealed, as a large percentage of mobile workforce continues to work from home. Across the various user groups surveyed, 70 per cent said they would prefer a user interface (UI) on their phones that clearly separates work and personal apps and <keyword id="6355729" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="data">data</keyword>, over a UI with no separation. "<keyword id="66720" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="users">Users</keyword> mentioned that a clear delineation between work and personal apps and data can help them improve digital wellbeing and balance between their personal lives and their work," said the <keyword id="6355629" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="google">Google</keyword> study done along with experience management firm <keyword id="7027459" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="qualtrics">Qualtrics</keyword>. Nearly 85 per cent of employees use at least one smartphone for both work and personal use. "With the increase of workers at home, and a large number of companies announcing hybrid work plans, employees are increasingly juggling work and personal life on a single device. Many are struggling to find the right balance between creating separation of work-life balance and maintaining privacy," Google said in a blog post on Thursday. The data showed that work profile users (81 per cent) are more satisfied than non-work profile users (71 per cent) with their experience of managing work and personal life on the same device. When there is a distinct separation between work and personal apps, people are more conscious about their data and the boundaries they can and cannot cross. Work profile users are more aware than non-work profile users that the data linked to their work account can be seen by their company and more satisfied that their work data can be kept secure. For example, 63 per cent of work profile users are aware that <keyword id="11336898" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="work-app-usage">work app usage</keyword> (data captured on work apps) is visible to IT, compared to only 39 per cent of non-work profile users who also use work apps on their phone. "Our study shows that work profile users are significantly more satisfied with their work-life balance compared to non-work profile users," Google said. A Google-led study states that 68% of employees use one smartphone for both work and personal use

Alarmed at frequent accidents allegedly involving its <keyword id="1241857" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="autopilot">Autopilot</keyword> system, <keyword id="107096" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tesla">Tesla</keyword> has finally released a driver monitoring system software using its cabin-facing camera, an ideal that was originally rejected by CEO Elon <keyword id="364027" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Musk">Musk</keyword>. The aim is to help make sure drivers pay attention to the road while using Autopilot, the company's advanced driver assistance system, reports Electrek. "The cabin camera above your rearview mirror can now detect and alert driver inattentiveness while Autopilot is engaged. Camera data does not leave the car itself, which means the system cannot save or transmit information unless data sharing is enabled," Tesla said in a release note. The new update coincides with Tesla's release of its new 'Vision' system that solely relies on computer vision using cameras and no radar. The cabin-facing camera above the rearview mirror will be activated in the Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. Model S and Model X vehicles, made before 2021, do not have a cabin camera as of now. Last year, Tesla activated the camera for the first time in a software update asking people to allow the automaker to take videos and pictures to "develop safety features and enhancements in the future" on a voluntary basis. Tesla vehicles are far from reaching a level of autonomy often described by Musk on social media. There have been at least 23 Tesla Autopilot-related crashes, currently under investigation by the <keyword id="108709" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="US-National-Highway-Traffic-Safety-Administration">US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration</keyword> (NHTSA). Despite tall claims made by Musk over Twitter about the full self-driving technology, electric car-maker Tesla has privately admitted that such claims do not match up with the engineering reality. Tesla vehicles come with a driver assistance system called 'Autopilot' that enhances safety and convenience behind the wheel. When used properly, Autopilot reduces your overall workload as a driver. For an additional $10,000, people can buy "full self-driving" or <keyword id="450300" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="fsd">FSD</keyword>, that Musk promises will deliver full autonomous driving capabilities.
