Hero Motocorp hits the 100 million cumulative production milestone

Kolkata, Feb 29 () Coal India Ltd is likely toregister a 13-per cent on-year rise in production in Februaryto 66 million tonnes, sources said on Saturday.The world's largest miner had produced 58.05 milliontonnes in the corresponding month a year ago.Cumulative production for the April-February period isexpected to be 517.5 million tonnes, they said."The daily average production has inched higher tonearly 2.5 million tonnes compared to little over 2 milliontonnes in the month of January. Till February 28, cumulativemonthly production was 63.5 million tonnes" the sources told.Offtake, however, continues to be muted. Nio jumps after it reports record sales in June, soaring 116% year-over-year

New Delhi, Mar 20 () Production of mining and quarrying sector grew by 4.4 per cent in January, the Mines Ministry said on Friday. The cumulative growth for April- January 2019-20 over the corresponding period of the previous year has been 1 per cent, it said. "The index of mineral production of mining and quarrying sector for the month of January 2020....at 124.3, was 4.4% higher as compared to the level in the month of January 2019," the ministry said in a statement. In January, the production of coal was 750 lakh tonnes, lignite 45 lakh tonnes, natural bauxite 2,146 thousand tonnes and chromite 445 thousand tonnes among others, it added. SID HRS MRMR

Mining, quarrying sector grows by 4.4 pc in Jan

In 2020, Amazon pledged to enable $10 billion in cumulative exports from India by 2025. The company said that cumulative exports by the Indian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) via its 'Global Selling' programme are currently on track to surpass the $5 billion milestone. The programme took about three years to enable the first billion dollars, and the last two billion dollars have come in just 17 months, Amazon said during the '<keyword id="13813097" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="exports-digest" source="Orion">Exports Digest</keyword> 2022' event. Amazon promises $20 billion in exports from India by 2025

New The Union <keyword id="210071" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ministry-of-Health">Ministry of Health</keyword> and Family Welfare has made efforts to ramp up supply and availability of Amphotericin-B, the anti-fungal drug used in treatment of <keyword id="11280340" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="black-fungus-disease">Black Fungus disease</keyword>. A statement from the government said on Friday, "In May 2021, 3,63,000 vials of Amphotericin-B will be imported, thereby resulting in total availability in the country (inclusive of the domestic production) of 5,26752 vials, --3,15,000 vials will be imported in June 2021. along with the domestic supply, the countrywide availability of Amphotericin-B will be enhanced to 5,70,114 vials in June 2021." Several States and UTs have reported an increasing number of patients suffering from Covid complications in the form of Mucormycosis, popularly known as <keyword id="10432869" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="black-fungus">Black Fungus</keyword>. There is also a reported shortage of Amphotericin-B, an anti-fungal drug used for treatment of the Black Fungus disease. The production capacity of the existing companies was extremely limited in the month of April 2021. As a result of the hand-holding by <keyword id="6377129" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="government-of-india">Government of India</keyword>, these domestic manufactures will cumulatively produce 1,63,752 vials of Amphotericin-B in May 2021. This will be further ramped up to 2,55,114 vials in the month of June 2021. Union Ministry of Health said five more manufacturers have been given the licence to produce the anti-fungal drug within the country. Cumulatively, these companies will start producing 1,11,000 vials of Amphotericin-B per month from July 2021. The <keyword id="83655" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Union-health-ministry">Union Health Ministry</keyword> and Deptt. of Pharmaceuticals are together trying to facilitate these five manufacturers to bring forward some of this production so that these additional supplies begin in June 2021. The Union Ministry of Health in collaboration with MEA is also actively exploring other global sources from where the Amphotericin-B drug can be imported. Union Health Ministry is also trying to procure other antifungal drugs which can be used in treatment of Black Fungus. Black fungus: Union health ministry ramps up supply of Amphotericin-B drug used in treatment

Despite unfavourable economic conditions in major markets such as the European Union (EU), the US, and West Asian nations, Indian <keyword id="21353395" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="textile-exports" source="keywords">textile exports</keyword> grew by 9.59 per cent compared to the previous year in May 2024, the Confederation of <keyword id="22064995" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-textile" source="keywords">Indian Textile</keyword> Industry (CITI) said in a report. Simultaneously, <keyword id="22064997" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-apparel-exports" source="keywords">Indian apparel exports</keyword> saw a growth of 9.84 per cent during the same period. The CITI in its report highlighted that the cumulative exports of textiles and apparel during May 2024 registered a growth of 9.70 per cent over May last year. The country's overall exports for May 2024 surged to USD 68.29 billion. This was a substantial year-on-year increase of 10.2 per cent, according to data released by the Commerce Ministry on June 14. The analysis noted that during Apr -May' 24, Indian textile exports registered a growth of 6.04 per cent over the previous year, while apparel exports registered a growth of 4.46 per cent during the same time period. The cumulative exports of textiles and apparel during April-May 2024 saw a surge of 5.34 per cent as compared to the same period last year. The recently released export data revealed that sectors such as electronic goods, drugs and pharmaceuticals, organic and inorganic chemicals, engineering goods, petroleum products, plastics &amp; linoleum, cotton yarn/fabs made-ups ( textiles manufactured), handloom products, etc., man-made yarn/fabs./made-ups, handloom products etc. performed well in the exports from the country. Other merchandise products, such as meat, dairy and poultry products, mica, coal and other ores, minerals including processed minerals, RMG of all textiles, tea, coffee, rice, tobacco, carpet and handicrafts, oil seeds; and fruits and vegetables, did well too. On Friday, AshwKumar, President of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), highlighted that a positive trajectory was seen in May 2024, driven by robust order bookings. Among the top ten export markets for India were the US, UAE, Netherlands, UK, China, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Germany and France. Considerably, in these markets, the exports registered a double-digit growth rate. Breaking down export data released yesterday, the merchandise exports witnessed a 9.1 per cent rise to USD 38.13 billion, while service exports climbed by 11.7 per cent, reaching USD 30.16 billion. Kantar Marketplace hits $100 million revenue milestone

New Delhi, Dec 9 () Petrol price on Monday hit Rs 75 a litre mark for the first time in more than a year as oil firms raised rates to make up for rising cost of production.
 Petrol price was on Monday hiked by 5 paise per litre and diesel by 10 paise a litre, according to daily price notification of state-owned oil firms.
 The increase pushed price of petrol to Rs 75 per litre in the national capital and that of diesel to Rs 66.04 per litre.
 Rates have been on the rise since November 9, barring one day. Cumulatively, petrol price has been increased by Rs 2.30 per litre in the last one month. Diesel prices, however, have been moderate in their movement, hovering in between Rs 65-66 per litre range.
 While prices rose in the immediate aftermath of drone attacks on some of Saudi Arabia's giant onshore fields in mid-September, rising by a cumulative Rs 2.5 per litre in case of petrol in a matter of two weeks, rates had cooled off thereafter, with prices coming down from Rs 74.61 per litre to Rs 72.60 for petrol in Delhi.
 However, rates have again been on the rise since November 9, partly because of rupee-dollar exchange rate.
 Diesel prices had hit Rs 67 in the aftermath of the Saudi attack, but moderated in the days thereafter.

<keyword id="19896016" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="new-delhi" source="keywords">New Delhi</keyword>, The growth of eight key infrastructure sectors slowed to a 15-month low of 3.6 per cent in January, on account of poor performance of sectors like <keyword id="819180" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="refinery-products" source="Orion">refinery products</keyword>, <keyword id="50549" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fertiliser" source="Orion">fertiliser</keyword>, <keyword id="34570" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="steel" source="Orion">steel</keyword> and <keyword id="44578" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="electricity" source="Orion">electricity</keyword>, according to the official data released on Thursday. The growth of eight core sectors -- coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertiliser, steel, cement and electricity -- was 4.9 per cent in December. It was 9.7 per cent in January 2023. The previous low level of growth rate was recorded at 0.9 per cent in October 2022. Cumulatively also, the growth rate in the output of these sectors slowed down to 7.7 per cent as against 8.3 per cent in April-January 2022-23. The output growth of refinery products and fertiliser was in the negative zone. And the pace of increase in the output of coal, steel, and electricity decelerated during the month under review. However, crude oil, natural gas, and cement production recorded positive growth in January. The eight core sectors contribute 40.27 per cent to the country's Index of Industrial Production (IIP).

India's eight core industries recorded a growth of 7.4 per cent in December (2022) against 4.1 per cent recorded in the same month last year, according to official data released by the <keyword id="527366" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ministry-of-Commerce-Industry" source="Orion">Ministry of Commerce &amp; Industry</keyword> on Tuesday. The number stood at 5.4 per cent in November, 2022. "The production of coal, electricity, steel, cement, fertilizers, refinery products and natural gas increased in December 2022 over the corresponding month of last year," stated the release. The <keyword id="16313496" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="production-of-crude-oil-declined" source="Orion">production of crude oil declined</keyword> by 1.2 per cent in December, 2022. The cumulative growth rate of ICI during April-December 2022 was 8.0 per cent (provisional) as compared to the corresponding period of last year. The Index of Core Industries measures combined and individual performance of production in selected eight core industries viz. coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilizers, steel, cement and electricity. The Eight Core Industries comprise 40.27 per cent of the weight of items included in the <keyword id="124816" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Index-of-Industrial-Production" source="Orion">Index of Industrial Production</keyword> (IIP). India's core sector output rises by 7.4 per cent in December

New Delhi, Feb 18 () India is set to harvest a record wheat production of 106.21 million tonne in the 2019-20 crop year on the back of good rains, according to latest government data. Wheat production has been rising year-on-year and the previous record of 103.60 million tonne was achieved during the 2018-19 crop year (July-June). Wheat is the main rabi (winter) crop, harvesting of which will begin from next month. Releasing the second estimate of foodgrain production, Agriculture Ministry said the cumulative rainfall in the country during the monsoon season (June-September 2019) was 10 per cent higher than the Long Period Average (LPA). Accordingly, the production of most of the crops for the 2019-20 crop year has been estimated higher than their normal production, it said, and added these estimates are subject to revision on account of more precise information flowing over the time. As per the second estimate, total foodgrain production is pegged at a record 291.95 million tonne for 2019-20 crop year, higher than 285.21 million tonne last year. Of the total production, foodgrain output is estimated to be 142.36 million tonne from the kharif (summer) season and 149.60 million tonne from the rabi season of this year.
