And when there is no electricity and water supply, then it will affect our movement." The Ghazipur protest site has seen several people leaving the protest site after the January 26 violence at several places in the national capital. On Thursday, there were around 500 farmers and over 100 tractors, against the thousands there for last two months. Heavy police deployment at Ghazipur border protest site

New Delhi, Jun 17 () A CRPF official has succumbed to COVID-19, taking the death toll from the disease in the country's largest paramilitary force to five, officials said on Wednesday. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) also reported 35 fresh cases of the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of coronavirus-affected personnel to 783 out of which 338 are active while 440 patients have recovered. Among the latest cases, the maximum are from units based in Kashmir and a few other units, the officer said. "A 55-year-old head constable passed away on Monday at the AIIMS located in Haryana's Jhajjar. The official was posted in the 5th battalion of the force," a senior CRPF officer said. It was not immediately clear if the official was suffering from an existing health issue. This is the fifth COVID-19 death in the about 3.25 lakh personnel-strong force. Among the paramilitary forces or the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) this is the 16th death. The Central Industrial Security Force has reported five deaths, Border Security Force three, Sashastra Seema Bal two and one casualty has taken place in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police till now. Srinagar, Jun 10 () As many as 28 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel posted in Kashmir tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, officials said. They said the personnel were found infected during a contact-tracing exercise after the death of a 44-year-old constable on June 6 when he succumbed to the disease. Twenty-eight personnel in Kashmir have tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, the officials said, adding they belong to the 90th battalion of the force where the deceased constable, a nursing assistant, was posted. All the affected personnel have been isolated and some results are awaited, they said. The troops have been asked to immediately report if they feel any illness of COVID-19 like symptoms, a senior official said. There have been four deaths in the country's largest paramilitary force having 3.25 lakh personnel. It has 516 coronavirus cases till now out of which 353 personnel have recovered, as per latest data. Nagpur, Jul 5 () A total of 22 CRPF personnel tested coronavirus positive on Sunday in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district, around 170 kms from here, an official said. These men had rejoined duty a few days ago and were placed under institutional quarantine, where they were detected with the infection, he said. Around 350-400 CRPF troopers were on leave and began returning to their reporting stations in the last 20-25 days, Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police Shailesh Balkawde told . "Personnel who return are kept in 14-day institutional quarantine and tested for coronavirus after seven to eight days from the date of their return. New Delhi, May 9 () The country's largest paramilitary force CRPF reported 62 fresh coronavirus infections on Saturday from a single Delhi-based unit, officials said.The total number of active cases in the 3.25 lakh-strong force now stands at 231, they said.Two personnel have recovered from coronavirus while one succumbed to the infection.The fresh cases are from the 194th Rapid Action Force (RAF) battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the officials said.All the infected personnel have been placed in home quarantine at a facility in Bawana area, they said.The 31st battalion of the force in Delhi has about 137 positive cases. New Delhi, Jun 30 () The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has urged its personnel who have recovered from coronavirus to be good samaritans and donate their blood plasma to save lives of others infected persons, officials said on Tuesday. CRPF Director General (DG) A P Maheshwari has written a communication to the troops of the about 3.25 lakh personnel strong paramilitary force to become the agents of happiness for those who are suffering from the disease. The CRPF, as per latest data, has a total of 1,219 coronavirus cases, out of which 655 have recovered and 555 are under treatment. "In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the CRPF donned the role of COVID warriors. We have proactively reached out to our breathren and helped in crisis." "About 1,000 of our personnel contracted the disease. More than half of them have also recovered by now. But thousands of our countrymen are still struggling in hospitals. We can help them in their fight against the virus by donating plasma," the CRPF chief said. He also mentioned the name of three jawans of the force -- constables Ganesh Kumar, Manjeet Singh and Gurtej Singh -- who "voluntarily donated their convalescent plasma recently to save COVID-19 patients." "Those of our warriors who have defeated the virus themselves can help some of our fellow countrymen defeat the virus as well by donating plasma." The donated plasma helps a coronavirus infected patient to better fight the disease by developing enhanced levels of immunity. For a person who wishes to donate plasma, he or she should have tested negative for COVID-19 at least two weeks before the donation. New Delhi, Apr 26 () Fifteen Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel posted in a Delhi-based battalion have tested positive for COVID-19, officials said on Sunday.The troops belong to CRPF's 31st battalion in which nine men had tested positive on Thursday, a senior official said.With the fresh cases, the number of infected personnel in this unit stands at 24.The patients have been isolated and admitted to a hospital in Mandawali area here, the official said.Samples of about a dozen more personnel of the unit have been sent for testing and their reports are awaited, he said.The personnel of this unit underwent tests after a head constable who visited the battalion last week tested positive for the virus, the official said. The jawan, working as a nursing assistant, has been admitted to an isolation ward in a Delhi hospital, he said. The official said the constable was asked to undertake a coronavirus test in Delhi at the end of his leave period on April 7 before joining his unit, as per the standard operating procedure. He was already in 14-day quarantine and his result was reported positive on Tuesday, the official added. The jawan's parent unit is deployed in Kupwara district in north Kashmir. New Delhi, Jul 11 () A 51-year-old official of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) died due to coronavirus infection on Saturday taking the pandemic death toll in the country's largest paramilitary to eleven, officials said. The force also reported 58 fresh cases of the disease across its various units in the country. Head Constable Damodar Reddy passed away at a hospital in Hyderabad on Saturday, they said. He was suffering from chronic kidney problems and some other health issues and was found positive for COVID-19 last month, the officials said. This is the 11th coronavirus death in the force that has over 1,925 cases of the pandemic till now, according to latest data. Out of the total, 936 personnel are under treatment across the country while the rest have recovered, officials said.
