EazyDiner raises ₹40 crore from DMI Alternative Investment Fund

Reportedly, the LVM3 is a three-stage rocket with the first stage fired with liquid fuel, the two strap-on motors powered by solid fuel, the second by liquid fuel and the third is the cryogenic engine. "Just over 19 minutes after the rocket's take off, the process of satellite separation will begin. The separation of 36 satellites will happen in a phased manner", as informed by the officials. Flex space, also known as flexible space, is typically a segment of real estate that provides customers with flexible office space based on their needs. Startups are increasingly preferring such real estate setups. Leasing by flex space sellers in January-March 2023 inched closer to that of technology companies for the first time ever, according to a report by Nasdaq-listed multinational investment management company <keyword id="813133" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="colliers" source="Orion">Colliers</keyword>. Flex occupiers leased 2.1 million square feet of space during the first quarter of 2023, accounting for 20 per cent, a few paces behind the technology sector's share at 22 per cent and together both segments accounted for nearly 42 per cent of the total leasing across top metros, the Colliers report revealed. "Large technology occupiers have also been leasing spaces in flex spaces due to their added benefits such as flexible lease terms, lower capex and modern workplace designs. This coupled with ongoing recessionary conditions and layoffs in the technology sector has led to a relative pushback in conventional leasing by these occupiers," it said. Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR were the most preferred locations for top flex operators for their expansion. Bengaluru accounted for nearly half of the total flex leasing during the quarter, followed by Delhi-NCR at 30 per cent share, the report said. "Share of the technology sector has declined steadily from 34 per cent in Q1 2022 to 22 per cent in Q1 2023, as corporates continue to focus on building in operational efficiencies through a hybrid model. While Hybrid working has impacted demand for conventional office spaces, it has also fueled demand for flex spaces across top markets. Post-merger, the public shareholders of Butterfly will hold ~3 per cent stake in the the combined entity, it added. "The scheme is subject to the necessary statutory and regulatory approvals including approval of the stock exchanges, SEBI, the respective shareholders and creditors of each of the companies and NCLT (Mumbai and Chennai benches)," it added. IPL 2023 to drive fantasy sports companies to ₹2,900-3,100 crore revenue, fueled by Tier-2 cities and exciting prizes

The Indian Council of Medical Research (<keyword id="6364396" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="icmr" source="Orion">ICMR</keyword>) has come up with the country's first Ethical Guidelines for the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Research and <keyword id="6354525" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="healthcare" source="Orion">Healthcare</keyword> to provide an ethical framework for the development of <keyword id="6355999" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ai" source="Orion">AI</keyword>-based tools which will benefit all stakeholders. According to a document drafted by the Department of Health Research and ICMR's Artificial Intelligence Cell, AI for health, to a large extent, depends on data obtained from human participants and invokes additional concerns related to potential biases, data handling, interpretation, autonomy, risk minimization, professional competence, data sharing, and confidentiality. "It is therefore imperative to have an ethical framework that addresses issues specific to AI for biomedical research and healthcare," the guidelines stated. The adoption of AI technology in healthcare is growing in India. However, AI as data-driven technology has many potential ethical challenges which include algorithmic transparency and explainability, clarity on liability, accountability and oversight, bias and discrimination, said ICMR Director General Dr Rajiv Behl. "The DHR-ICMR AI Cell has identified the need to develop these guiding ethical principles concerning artificial intelligence and machine learning-based tools. "These guidelines will provide the ethical framework for the development of AI-based tools which will benefit all stakeholders, including innovators, developers, patients, technologists, researchers, healthcare professionals, ethics committees, sponsors and funding agencies involved in research related to AI in biomedical research and healthcare," he said. NTAGI chief Dr N K Arora said the purpose of the guideline is to provide an ethical framework which can assist in the development, deployment, and adoption of AI-based solutions for biomedical research and healthcare delivery. The guidelines are intended for all stakeholders involved in research on artificial intelligence in healthcare, including creators, developers, technicians, researchers, clinicians, ethics committees, institutions, sponsors, and funding organizations. It includes separate sections addressing ethical principles for AI in health, guiding principles for stakeholders, the ethics review process, governance of artificial intelligence for healthcare and research, and the informed consent process involving human participants and their data. The guideline has been formulated after extensive discussions with subject experts, researchers and ethicists, said Dr Arora. The induction of AI into healthcare has the potential to be the solution for significant challenges like diagnosis and screening, therapeutics, preventive treatments, clinical decision-making, public health surveillance, complex data analysis, and predicting disease outcomes. This list is likely to grow in the future, the document said. The purpose of these guidelines is not to limit innovation or recommend any disease-specific diagnostic or therapeutic approach but to guide effective yet safe development, deployment and adoption of AI-based technologies in biomedical research and healthcare delivery, it said. These guidelines will be used by experts and ethics committees reviewing research proposals involving the use of AI-based tools and technologies. ICMR comes up with first ethical guidelines for application of AI in biomedical research, healthcare

Electric vehicles (EV) financing digital platform <keyword id="12028811" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="revfin-services" source="Orion">RevFin Services</keyword> is targeting to finance 20 lakh vehicles in the next five years, with an aim to grow three to four times every year, according to its CEO &amp; Founder <keyword id="1116564" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sameer-aggarwal" source="Orion">Sameer Aggarwal</keyword>. With the Indian electric vehicle industry poised for an accelerated growth, he said the company is confident of meeting its target and would continue to raise funds through debt and equity going forward for the purpose. "From a long-term perspective we have taken a very strong position on EVs, and we have committed to financing two million electric vehicles in the next five years," <keyword id="11517" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="aggarwal" source="Orion">Aggarwal</keyword> told PTI. Asked if the target is not too steep, considering <keyword id="6952105" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="revfin" source="Orion">RevFin</keyword> has financed 17,118 EVs in the last 51 months, he said,"The monthly loan disbursement is growing month-on-month by about 15 per cent. So overall, it has grown almost four times in the last one year. If we continue the kind of growth that we are currently on we will actually achieve these numbers." In 2023-24, the company is looking at financing around 50,000 EVs. "The following year we would do three to four times of that. Obviously, a lot of those numbers will be achieved after the year-two or year-three, but there is a 3-4x growth that we are experiencing," Aggarwal asserted. RevFin has also expanded its portfolio from primarily financing electric rickshaws earlier, adding electric two-wheelers, high speed electric three-wheelers and four-wheelers as well, he added. Apart from offering financing to products of a slew of EV makers, RevFin also has strategic partnerships with manufacturers, including Kinetic Green, Yatri, Saarthi, Mayuri, Lectrix, <keyword id="195740" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hero-electric" source="Orion">Hero Electric</keyword>, and <keyword id="272382" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="piaggio" source="Orion">Piaggio</keyword> among others. When asked about the funding requirements, he said,"Capital is the raw material for us. We are always raising capital in equity and debt." While the company raises debt capital almost every month, Aggarwal said,"Equity we raise 12 to 18 months, which will continue. Every 12 to 18 months we'll be raising equity and then we'll be raising debt to leverage that equity." In October last year, the company had raised USD 10 million (over Rs 80 crore) in a Series A round of funding. As part of its growth strategy, the company plans to expand its presence to around 25 states from the current 16 and take its footprint to about 300 cities, up from around 200 cities at present. Most of these will be focussed for electric two and three-wheelers while for electric four-wheelers it will be in the bigger cities, he added. RevFin targets financing 20 lakh electric vehicles in next 5 years

Appreciating the measures taken by <keyword id="110861" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="iifcl" source="Orion">IIFCL</keyword>, a Parliamentary panel said initiative taken by the state-owned entity will keep bad loans under check and also help it in discharging its role as a pioneer lender in financing infrastructure projects. <keyword id="183412" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india-infrastructure-finance-company-limited" source="Orion">India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited</keyword> (IIFCL) is a public sector financial institution established in January 2006 that is wholly-owned by the government of India. According to the Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) submitted recently in <keyword id="6354721" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="parliament" source="Orion">Parliament</keyword>, measures taken will go a long way in improving and strengthening the functioning of IIFCL. The company has put in place a Board approved Management Policy which lays out the Directives and Guidelines for time-bound resolution of NPA by taking proactive actions. The proactive actions are towards close monitoring, constant follow-up and evolving suitable modes for early resolution/ recovery of dues in line with the prescribed norm/guidelines of <keyword id="30067" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rbi" source="Orion">RBI</keyword> and other applicable statutory/ regulatory authorities or directions from the central government, the report said. IIFCL has set up a specialised recovery and NPA management department and has strengthened this department with officers with specialised skills in recovery and NPA Management, the report titled 'Review of Loans to Road Projects relating to India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL)' said. The capacities were further strengthened with external experts including an independent High Level Advisory Committee which is chaired by retired Judge of the Madras High Court and two former Executive (whole-time) Directors of <keyword id="16949062" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="public-sector-banks-and-financial-institutions" source="Orion">Public Sector Banks and Financial Institutions</keyword>, it said. "Similarly, to monitor the utilization of funds for further disbursement, IIFCL informed that it has taken several measures such as meaningful scrutiny of progress reports, balance sheets of borrowers, regular inspection of borrower's assets, books of accounts including 'no-lien' accounts maintained with other banks, and conducting regular on-site visit of the projects, etc," it said. Highlighting the importance of site visits, the panel headed by senior BJP leader <keyword id="258830" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="santosh-gangwar" source="Orion">Santosh Gangwar</keyword> said, it is the key elements instituted for effective monitoring of the project for securing project viability and ensuring quality of loan assets. Hence, it said, required resources should have been put in place in the larger interest of IIFCL as well as to ensure the viability of projects. "IIFCL should not solely depend on the report of Lead Bank or any other consortium lender, but rather, should evolve a suitable mechanism for regular monitoring of the projects that they finance," it said. Considering the gravity of risk involved in calculating the viability of road projects on the basis of evaluation and projections made by traffic consultants, the Committee felt an urgent need for a system of rating of the traffic consultants on realistic and pragmatic parameters and that such ratings are disclosed in public domain, the report said. The system will bring-in more reliability, credibility and prudence in work and traffic/revenue projections made by the traffic consultants, it said. At the same time, it said, the system will also immensely help the lenders, concessionaires and borrowers to calculate the risk before taking-up or financing any road project. "The Committee, therefore, desires the government to devise ways and means for rating of Traffic Consultants and make available the information in public domain," it said. The panel suggested that a mechanism may be developed to restrict the Concessionaire from allowing any advance, other than mobilization advance, to the EPC contractor, that too backed by sufficient en-cashable security, in the possession of the lenders and such advances should be recovered in a time-bound manner. Real estate consultant Anarock, which tracks the primary (fresh sales) residential market, said the "bull run" continued in the housing segment of Indian realty sector despite rise in interest rates on home loans, leading to highest quarterly sales in the last one decade. According to the data compiled by Anarock, housing sales are estimated at 1,13,770 units in January-March, up 14 per cent from 99,550 units in the year-ago period across seven major cities. Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Pune contributed 48 per cent to total sales. Delhi-NCR is the only city likely to witness a decline in sales during the first quarter of this calendar year. "The residential market's winning streak continued in the first quarter of 2023 with housing sales in top cities breaching the previous high of Q1, 2022. "The quarter has recorded the highest ever sales in the last decade amid significant rise in demand for high-ticket priced homes (more than Rs 1.5 crore)," Anarock Chairman Anuj Puri said. Puri, however, cautioned that emerging headwinds could pose a challenge in the short-term. "Persistent inflation concerns along with another possible rate hike by the RBI in the near future could dent the housing market's growth trajectory in the upcoming two quarters," Puri said. As per the data, housing sales in MMR are likely to rise 19 per cent to 34,690 units in January-March from 29,130 units in the corresponding period of last year. In Pune, sales are set to rise 42 per cent to 19,920 units from 14,020 units. Housing sales in Delhi-NCR, however, are seen falling by 9 per cent to 17,160 units from 18,835 units. In Bengaluru, the sales of residential properties are estimated to rise 16 per cent to 15,660 units from 13,450 units. Sales in Hyderabad are set to rise 9 per cent to 14,280 units from 13,140 units. Chennai is likely to witness 18 per cent growth in sales to 5,880 units from 4,985 units. Sales of residential properties in Kolkata are estimated to increase by modest 3 per cent to 6,180 units in January-March quarter this year from 5,990 units in the same period last year. Anarock data also suggest that average housing prices across the top 7 cities increased 6-9 per cent annually in January-March 2023, mainly due to increase in the prices of construction raw materials and overall rise in demand. MMR and Bengaluru recorded the highest 9 per cent annual jump. Commenting on the data, realty firm Signature Global Chairman Pradeep Aggarwal said the housing sector is experiencing strong sales due to increased affordability over the year. "Despite the rise in home loan interest rates, there has been minimal impact on demand nationwide. We anticipate that the demand in the housing sector will continue for at least a few more years," Aggarwal said.
